it's Saturday morning... a girl slowly woke from here deep slumber regardless of her surroundings and why should she be it's a day off ... free time for herself... the dark light suddenly vanishes as the bright light of the morning sun hit her eyes... her phoenix zile dark brown eyes with long eye lashes  continuing with a perfect fit nose line followed by tink light pink morning lips.

she slowly rises up her body and stretches her body for the laziness still on with the body due to sleeping .

it shows a room with dark walls but still bright due to the work of the lightings. a big master bed with alot of pillows and a beauty in between ... the room had a big glass wall dividing the balcony from the bedroom. the room had 2 more doors indicating one as a bathroom and the other as closet. there are 4 dressing tables in the room with lamps on the top, 2 single couches  opposite to each other and a running table in between....

she got down from here bed heading towards her bathroom to fresh up. after doing her morning routine she got out of the bathroom. she lives alone in this house suitable for a small family but the fact is that she lives here alone... 

today she was planning to go for a search for a mirror. she accidentally broke her old mirror when she was arranging her stuffs last night... she just cleared up the mess and went to bed directly. 

she dressed herself up with a blue floral dress   ... perfectly fits her curves till her waist and flowy below ranging above her knees. she got herself a black ragged jacket with black leather boots which makes her look like a perfect fit model. she took her hand bag and went out from her room...

 getting downstairs she got to her big living room 2 big and 2 small couches adjacent to each other and a table in between, windows just behind a big couch . the right side goes to some guest rooms and the right direction goes to the her kitchen.

she straight went towards her kitchen , she wasn't that hungry because it's just morning so she took an apple from her fridge and a bottle of juice... she poured a glass for herself and drank itand grabbed her apple and went out. 

before she leaves she checks the room property then locked up everything. she got near  her compound when she heard her neighbour aunties ( Mrs xie and Mrs ji ) gossiping something....

Mrs xie: " such a handsome guy!!! he looks like he have stepped out of a novel but in 21st century version " laughs sheepishly 

Mrs ji: " I heard he lived here till his high school but had to leave because of his parents business. so he got his higher studies in foreign " in gossiping tone 

Mrs xie: " I wish I was little bit younger hehe... but Aish I was born too early and I don't have a daughter too to fix them up " 

their gossips went on and on ... yu yan ignores their talks and went inside her car to explore the mirror shops to find herself a mirror. looking towards her car car the both ladies changed her topic towards Yan ....

Mrs xie: " hey!!! isn't it Yan ..? " pointing at yan's car

Mrs ji: " yeah!!! it's obviously her " looking towards the back of her car.

Mrs xie: " I wish I had a daughter like her. she lives here alone without her parents support... she must be very potential and optimistic to live alone in this world... " said with a understanding pout.

Mrs ji: " hey !!! how about I talk with her parents about my Jiang Cheng ... she is a perfect daughter in law for me .... " 

Mrs xie: " Don't talk nonsense!!! she is my daughter in law... "

the car stopped Infront of a full mirror shop... she went inside it... she opened the door and the bell about the door rang indicating someone has arrived and it's our yu Yan ... a young girl came towards her and bowed at her. 

" welcome miss at the Shi mirrors " she looks like a worker of this shop... Yan started exploring the whole shop.  she looked at a mirror it looks like an antique but no it wasn't it's just a coloured in this colour. she likes it but it doesn't fullfil her consideration... after an hour of searching for her favour but still she was empty handed.

though the shop is filled with various kind of mirrors... small , big , square, round, oval, heavily curved, simple curved, black, golden, brown, etcetera... etcetera.... 

nothing could fullfil her favour. she left the shop and went towards her car heading towards the next shop.

she parked her car Infront of her next destination ie the next mirror shop ....

she entered the shop and an old lady welcomed her with a wide smile... " welcome to the Han's mirrors dear " " what would you like to see my child " 

" do you have any mirror which is simple but old as well as an antique " Yan said with a smile flashing in her face enlightening her beauty more 

" sure child!!! this way please" she guided Yan towards a corner of the shop full of antique mirror. 

the same went again as in the first shop , she looked through out the whole shop. she liked some mirrors but was not her destined mirror ... more hours passed... she grew hungry so thought of having something before going for exploring the mirror shops more ..

He smiled when he saw Heart walk out from his building surprised to see him there.

'Just enjoy these last weeks, they are all you have left before your life is ruined. Before you take that monster down.'
"What are you doing here?"
"I... I didn't know I would see you."
"Get in." Saint smiled.
"Why? What are we doing?" Heart asked. Saint held open the door to the car with a bemused smile as Heart obeyed him.
He shut the door, then walked around the other side of the car and got in, then looked over at Heart, blinking softly.
"What are you waiting for? And where are we going?"
"What makes you think we are not going to the office?" Saint asked.
"You are not wearing a suit, just some jeans, a belt and a blue shirt. We are not going to the office are we?" Heart asked him confused
Saint grinned.
"Smart." He said then buckled up his seat belt and drove off.
When he pulled up outside the store that said Jiritiratap Clothier. He turned off the car and unbuckled his seat belt.
He had the car door open before he realized that Heart wasn't moving.
"What are we doing Saint? You kidnap me away on a Saturday and I asked you repeatedly what we were."
Saint chuckled, got out of the car and smiled before walking round the car opening the door and leaning in.
Heart yelped.
"Like all you have to do is tell me what we are doing. Why do you always have to be so stubborn?"
"You can come out of the car, or I will come in."
"I don't care if you get back in. It's your car." Heart started stubbornly.
Saint raised an eyebrow and grinned like a cat in cream.
"Oh, see I was hoping you would say that."
He reached back and flipped a button and shoved Heart's seat all the way back quickly.
Heart yelped from the shock of being thrown backwards suddenly.
Saint put his hands on either side of the seat and climbed into the passenger seat on top of Heart straddling his legs on either side. He braced himself, his hands pressed into either side of the chair and he began lowering his butt down to sit on Heart's lap.
Saint smiled wickedly as the panic flushed Heart's face a bright scarlet red.
"Saint!"
Heart gasped.
"What are you doing, it's the middle of the day, and the street isn't empty?."
"Oh, is that the only problem you see with this?"
"Saint, I.. Get off, I will go, okay!"
Saint leaned forward.
"Perfect" He purred lightly in Heart's ear. Before he shoved the seat and got up. Backing out of the car. He held the door open pretending to be a perfect gentleman.
Heart got out of the vehicle, but refused to even glance up. Saint could tell for the tips of his ears just how embarrassed he was.
Saint closed the door, then motioned to the building.
"Let's go get you some new suits, yeah?"
Heart walked into the store sulking, and Saint paused to listen. Jerry had been using the same little bell since he was little and its soft chimes always reminded Saint of those times when as a little boy he would come with his Grandfather to watch him get a new suit.
The deep rich chestnut wall and bright sconce lighting, lit up the entire wall behind the desk, and there was a little custom made stand built onto the back wall, filled with tiny little square patches of fabric for quality examples. There were two full suits on mannequins and across from that was a counter filled with suit accessories, like cuff links, ties, buttons, custom threading, clasps. Bolo's. Jerry had it all behind that glass case. Further back there was a table for cutting and behind it were rolls of fabric against the wall on one side, and on the other was a wall of basic undershirts sorted by size and colour. All fully customizable.
Behind the table in the furthest corner were six floor to ceiling height mirrors.
Jerry came out of the back and his face lit up with enthusiasm the moment he saw who it was.
"Wan, how is the panda bear doing?" Jerry asked immediately.
Saint couldn't help but smile. He had been using the nickname Saint since he was a kid yet Jerry still would only call him what Amonrat would and Grandfather never called him anything but Wan.
"Wan?" Heart whispered softly.
"My name." Saint leaned in and answered back.
Heart smacked his lips together and glared.
"Yes, I figured that much out, do I look like an idiot?"
"Your name is so cute. Waan, like sweet or Wan like, day?"
Saint raised his eyebrows and walked off to the corner where Jerry leaned across a long, wide table with samples, he knew Heart was glaring at him for not answering.
'But it was too funny. So he left it at that.'
"It's Waan for sweet isn't it?"
"So, do you have a specific cut in mind? I know you said you wanted specific fabrics used. The satin suit will be very delicate."
"I want a princess cut for all and he needs seven suits."
"Ah, I was thinking maybe this pattern here. Saint sketched out a pattern really quickly, I want this one in a royal blue."
"Sure, I can get that to you. Do You want to go with warm jewel tones for all the suits then to a kind of have them match the rich colour of the royal?"
"Yes, and Ah, Jerry silver trim on the blue, okay."
Jerry smiled. Wrote some stuff down, then stuck the pencil behind his ear.
"Okay, well just write down the measurements when you are done, I will be upstairs making an espresso."
"Come up when you are done."
He gave Heart a wink, then turned and started slowly up the stairs.
Saint watched him leave with a smile, then grabbed the tape measure he had left behind and turned to Heart.
Heart looked at him.
"I… Shouldn't he be the one measuring me.?"
"Nope," Saint grinned, wiggling his eyebrows, then advanced on Heart slowly.
Saint pointed at the spot with all the mirrors.
Heart nodded and walked over, stood on the small black platform in the centre of the mirrors and waited standing there tapping his leg.
Saint chuckled.
"You have never done this before, have you?"
Heart shook his head no.
Saint stepped forward.
He didn't want to admit it aloud, but this was his first time too. His first time taking someone into his safe place. First time of opening up and letting someone new in after Win.
Saint took the flimsy tape measure and looked at Heart.
"I have to measure your chest first."
"Do you have something other than that big nude sweater on?"
Heart nodded. And slowly started pulling his shirt up. His undershirt caught on the thick lip of the jersey material.
Saint reached out and helped him, the sweater pulled loose, releasing Heart's head and Heart looked at Saint realizing the distance between them was only a hand's breadth.
Heart gulped.
Saint blinked at him, wondering if he should call Jerry back.
His heart beat like crazy, the thumping ran through his veins like an echoed thrumming that made him want to slide his hands across everywhere.
Instead, he lifted each arm out of the way and wrapped the tape around and under Heart's chest. Lightly. His finger slid beneath the tape and smoothed it making sure there were no kinks or twists in the thin material or the tape measure that would stop from getting a proper measurement.
The more he circled Hearts chest the more he realized he was itching to hug Heart.

"So you've resorted to flaunting? I see you gave up on your face." The first thing she uttered to her, kicking up her left leg across the right one.

Mia rolled her eyes and shifted her weight to her right foot.

"You're too fat for those shorts."Her mom points out blankly taking another sip of her drink. " You got a lot of mirrors to check that out for yourself, don't you?"

"I know. And that is why apps were created." She whispered but her mom caught  it, a small smile tugging at the end of her lips. The older woman's brow creaked app and she mused at her words.

"Why didn't you go to school today?" She chose to change the subject leaning back on the couch.

"My face." Mia obviously stated. She had vowed not to ever apply make up... Although she wanted to; apply concealer on her zits, mascara, a little lipstick perhaps.

'Oh my goodness Mia!You look like an undercooked turkey!' Her mother's words.

"I don't give a hoot miss! You have to go to school whether you look ugly, or uglier."

Luke Groscow got in at this moment. A male servant took his coat, briefcase and car keys. According to Annah, no female hand shall lay her hand on her man.

She was right to be protective, after all Luke was a male model, a really good looking male model younger than Annah by three years.

"Hey honey." He greeted his wife and made for the little drink area. "Hello Mia."He voiced to her daughter lifting the drink to her in some sort of a toss. She gave him a small smile.

He then walked back across the room and slumped down the comfy white couch. Pure fur.

"Your daughter missed school, again!" Annah started going back to the random act of flicking her tongue inside her mouth.

"Why?"

"Puberty. Look at her ugly face."

"Annah!" Luke raised his voice a little. He nervously watched Mia at the corner of his eye.

An uncomfortable silence enveloped them for about a minute.

"What's wrong with that? She's bright." Luke said in a monotone. A little low this time.

"That doesn't mean she can miss school, Luke."

"I need a shower." Luke announced downing his drink.

He walked to Mia and cupped her cheek. "You'll be fine. At least now everyone will want to look at your pretty face."

Mia smiled. Her dad always gave her hope. Always made sure she was smiling.

Yet her mom was the complete opposite. She is the one who got her a full make up set... Indirectly telling her you're ugly, yet she's still the one who hated the same make up on her.

"Just give me a minute and we'll go get that mirror, okay?"

Mia nodded. Yester night she was so mad she punched her bathroom mirror six times, getting hurt in the process.

Because she let her mother's words get to her.

They drove out of their expansive house onto a private road for five minutes before joining the main road.

Mia looked outside the window as they passed the mall. She didn't want to get her mirror from the mall because most of her schoolmates hang out there... and she wouldn't be seen dead with her pimply face.

They were going to an old shop downtown belonging to an old black man. She found the place after getting lostin the area. Of course she had to glance around before asking for directions.

"Here we are." Her dad announced stopping the car.

"I'll go alone." Mia quickly stopped her dad from unbuckling his seat belt.

She didn't want him to see her posing in front of mirrors, possibly giving herself a complimenting speech and other self embarrassing acts. "Just wait here. I will try not to take long."

"Well, okay..."

The door chimed on opening and the shop was visibly empty. No shopper appeared to be present apart from her.

"Hello?"She called looking around. The reception area was also empty. She decided to walk around the isles, admiring the fancy, plain and artistic mirrors.

"Hello?"She called out again. Last time he was here. The man was odd and always zoned out in his speech and it spooled her a little but he was no threat.

"Careful young girl, your voice might break the mirrors!" Mia whipped around immediately a little startled. The old man closed the door, made of a mirror that it actually looked like he was coming out of it.

He had the same old tired but warm smile on his face.

"Good evening Mr.William you do remember me?"

"Well of course!" He laughed and walked to her to shake her hand. "You're the crazy one, right?" His hands were rough and crusty and he possessed a firm grip. He released her hand finally and walked behind the counter.

Entirely reflective.

"What can I interest you with miss Groscow?" She was a little amazed that he remembered her awkward second name. Nevertheless, she spoke up.

"I need a bathroom mirror."

"Just that? Oh we have a lot... Framed perhaps? Slitted?"

"I need your most clearest mirror."

"Clearest?"

"Yes clearest, doesn't matter really, it'll still work."

"Well,all my mirrors are clear as you see, but you do want the clearest?"

"Yes."

"Okay then." The sir walked from the counter and walked to the door he had come out earlier.

"Come on, you have to pick for yourself... I have two of them, nobody really seemed interested in having the clearest mirror so they stay up back.

Mia nodded. She half trusted the man enough to set her teaser at 60V, not too much to kill him or paralyse him.

The back of the store was like a workshop. Wood and mirrors, noise from the glass cuter worked by a man and a set of boys preparing a frame.

"Here we are." Mr.William announced walking past the two boys.

He opened a closet and called one of the boys to help him take them out. Mr.William stood them on the width side leaning on the wall.

They were clear, more than Mia ever imagined. The surface seemed like a calm river, promising a ripple if the surface was gently poked.

But one had a slight crack on the left corner, and given the angle of a perfectionist by her mother, she picked the other one.

It was framed with dark brown wood and carved into a beautiful pattern. It looked ancient,and she fell in love with it. She took one last look of herself and smiled.

She turned and waited for Mr.William to finish showing the boys how to smoothen the edges.

"Which one will it be?" Mr.William asked still helping his boys out.

"The framed one."

"You got it, give me a minute."

Mia wanted to turn and look at it once more. Her reflection on it was beyond perfect, it was beautiful. It gave her a sense mysterious sense of security. She opted to look around the place, placing her hand over her lips.

If only she would turn then maybe she would change her mind, because her image was still smiling.

Beauty can be overwhelming sometimes. Mia punishes herself for being what the society calls 'ugly' striving to create a picture perfect image. She builds up an odd obsession to mirrors.

But no matter the clearest mirror she'll get, she's still the same old face. This time however, the mirror is not only the clearest, it's the scariest... She ends up being thrown into a world belonging to the dark forces, and she has no choice but to choose survival, that is until she is able to escape and claim her old life and stolen identity back.

Lost in my thoughts, I was looking outside the car window. People passed by, buildings passed by, trees passed by but somehow I couldn't find the missing piece of me.

"Thanks." I said, giving him a small smile. 

"Let me take you somewhere." He said, speeding up the car. 

"Where?" I asked yet again . 

"Somewhere on this earth. Oh! By the way we'll be there soon. You were so lost in your thoughts that you didn't even notice that this is not the road which leads to our home." 

Our home. I don't know why but when he said that, it brought some kind of inner peace and happiness to me. 

Suddenly, he stopped the car and got out. Walking over to my side, he opened the door for me like a gentleman.

"Thank you." I said as I got out of the car. 

"Anytime." He said, closing the door and then closing my eyes. 

"We have to walk a little from here but don't worry I won't let you fall." He said as both of us started to walk. 

"Can I really trust you on that?" I asked him as we were walking. 

"Whether you trust me or not, depends completely on you. I will never force you to trust me but if you trust me I will never break it, till my last breath." He said, removing his hands from my eyes. "Turn around and look." 

Turning around, I slowly opened my eyes to the most beautiful sunset ever. 

"Isn't it perfect?" 

"It seems to be. When you have too many flaws in yourself and the one in front of you is a bit better. They seem perfect. But in reality they too have flaws." 

"Fair enough. I used to come here as a kid." 

"Really?" I asked, surprised. 

"Yes. I used to spend hours here talking to myself. This place is very important to me." He said, looking at the sunset with vulnerable yet happy eyes. 

'Very important to me.' Those four words he said, made me feel as if I was special to him. I was something more than a mere object bought with money to him.

"You are thinking again? You know you think a lot." He said, smiling at me. 

"Do you trust me?" I asked, looking straight into his soul through his eyes. 

"Of course. I trust you. I trust you enough to hand over my life to you. I trust you enough to make you my wife. I trust you, Adella Weisser." 

You trust me so much but can I trust you that much to tell you every little one of my secrets? 

"It's quite dark now. Shall we return home?" 

"I…I want to trust you too and show you something important to me too." 

"You don't have to." 

"I want to." I said, holding his hand and pressing it a little, assuring him that I was sure about this. 

"Okay then. Let's walk back to the car." 

"Alright." I said, as both started walking back in the direction we came from. 

"If I told you that I am from somewhere far far away from this small blue planet. Would you believe me?" I asked him, my eyes were shining with hope, thinking I could finally share my burden with someone. Someone who trusts me. 

"Why not? I mean Earth is not the only planet in this whole galaxy." He said, opening the car door urging me to sit inside. 

"Ummm… You sit. I'll drive." I said. 

"Okay." He agreed to my request as he surrendered the car keys to me and sat down on the passenger's seat. 

I walked over to the driver's seat. Opening the door, I settled inside and ignited the engine. 

"You know, my mom used to sing a song to me when I was so…so little." I said. 

"I don't think it was just one song. You know quite a few beautiful ones."

"Yes but this one is unique." 

"Oh? Then let me hear it." He said, turning around letting me have all of his attention. 

"Hmmm.. La la la la… Mmm… Na."

"Ella it's just forest, in front of us." Asher said, getting out too.

"But I would walk a thousand miles to see your eyes…" I sang back as my necklace began to shine. 

"Adella…Your… Your necklace…" He said, with eyes wide open as he stood there frozen. 

I smiled as I held out my hand for him to hold which he did without an ounce of doubt or hesitance.

Hold me, let's escape all this reality." The voice came back as a white void appeared in front of us.

My guiding light, we are unity." I sang as both of us got pulled inside of that void. 

"Asher?" I searched for him as I opened my eyes. 

"Ella!" I saw a man coming, running towards me and it was none other than Asher. "Are you alright?" He asked, as he helped me stand up. 

"Yeah." 

"Where are we?" He asked, scanning our surroundings. 

"My birth mother's humble abode." I replied with a smile. 

"It seems to me like your birth mother's humble abode is in the middle of nowhere. So where should we head now?" He asked, looking at me completely clueless. Just like a lost child. 

"Wait for a few minutes. Our ride will be here." I said, giggling at his lost face. 

"What's so funny?" 

"Nothing. You just look like a lost puppy." 

"Ad-" Just when he was about to warn me not to make fun of him. A voice interrupted him. 

"Hello Adella." Asher turned around to see the source of the sound but as soon as he saw the source his eyes widened in…. Shock? Surprise? Horror? 

I don't know. 




Nyctophilia.

Finding comfort in the darkness of the night. 
Crazy, isn't it? Who in their right mind will find comfort in darkness? 

I, Adella Weisser, did. 

Found by a man on Earth. I was sold off to the black market. But luckily when the auction was taking place I was bought over by a kind man. 

The man and his wife were kind enough to bring me up. Provide me with food, education and clothes. But all days are not the same. The man was a businessman and his company was going bankrupt as he was drowning in debts. 

His real daughter never cared for the old man's troubles but she always wanted the old man to bring her the best things that existed. She never wanted to be second. 

Even though the lady didn't like me, she never fought with the old man when he gave me the same things he gave his daughter. 

Troubled. I stepped out to find a solution to the old man's troubles. And happened to stumble upon a handsome man. On our first meet my necklace entangled with his shirt's button as my fate entangled with his. 

Returning back home. I found out that I was sold to the same man as a wife. 

Funny. Were our fates only entangled and not our hearts? Will he ever see me as anything more than a mere bought over wife?

I don't know the answers to these questions but I knew I had to find them along my way.

And I will.

P.S. I'll change the book cover soon this shall be the final name for the book. No more changes. And I'm editing the already published chapters.

I ran to tell Faelyn that Rafael was okay with her coming with them. She was surprised when I threw the door open and ran to her.
"Faelyn! Rafael said it was okay for you to come with!"
Faelyn smiled and laughed at me. "When are we leaving?"
"Tomorrow morning." I grinned back at Faelyn.
"Then I will have to start packing my things." Faelyn giggled.
"Why are you laughing?" I tilted my head
"Because you're really cute when you're excited."
I could feel the blush warm my face and embarrassment slipped into my thoughts. "Thank you… You're too kind to me."
"No, I'm not, just telling you things how I see it. You should go and pack your things, though, because Rafael will want to leave early, like always."
"You're right!" I smiled at Faelyn before leaving her room and walking back to where I was staying and started packing my things. Though, as time went, I just got more and more excited for our journey together, back to somewhere I know with Faelyn. 
When I finished packing I was no more tired than when I started, so I got out of bed to head to the training room.
"Where are you going?" Rafael sat up and looked concerned.
"I am going to practice in the training room because I can't sleep."
"Alright. Be careful."
"Will do!" I said as I closed the door behind me. I made a quick walk to the training room. 
I opened the door and noticed that the dummies and the floorboards were no longer charred and in pieces, stood there were dummies ready to be beat up. I took my place across from the dummies and thought about what I wanted to try.
I decided to see what would happen when I put a sword through an open mirror. I opened up the mirror on the ground in front of me and dropped the sword in. When I opened the mirror back up to see if it was still there the sword shot straight up, leaving a cut in my cheek. After I rationalized what just happened, I decided that I have to be more careful about trying new things because I now had a cut on my face and my sword was very thoroughly stuck in the ceiling.
I tried different words to try and pull the sword down, but nothing worked until I used the word telekinesis. I pulled the sword out and held it floating in the air. I could feel the sword in my mind and could just move it like an extra arm. Then I got the idea to use telekinesis to put more energy to the sword on the way in the mirror in front of me. I moved the mirror to the side of the dummies and opened the mirror, again. The sword shot out at a terrifying speed and sliced clean through all four of the dummies' necks. I grabbed the sword with telekinesis before the sword got stuck in the wall and brought it back to me. The plan I had worked out, and I will definitely try that in combat.
I got one more idea, and tried telekinesis on both swords. It wasn't any harder and I could still feel the two swords, independently. I then threw them both in the mirror, and made another mirror for the second sword. I opened the mirrors and watched the dummies get shredded and brought my swords back to me. I was very happy with the results of my practice and decided to go back to the room and try to go to sleep.

In the morning, I was up earlier than Rafael, which very much took me by surprise. I started by changing clothes and making Rafael's coffee, so it would be done and warm around the time he got up. I went back to the training room to work on my new found sword magic. The dummies were completely new and the hole in the ceiling was gone.
I started by repeating what I had done last night, and then I wanted to start adding on to it. I wanted to see if I could bounce the swords between mirrors, so that I could attack and reclaim the sword with a mirror to attack more times. I found that if I sent them through the mirrors, again, the swords would get faster and faster, until I made myself dizzy keeping track of them. I decided this was something that would need more than two swords to be effective and not make me dizzy.
To complete the task, I used the words 'sword summon' and made about six more swords made of solidified energy. I tried to use them with the mirrors, but when I opened the mirrors for them to go in, they vanished as soon as they hit the mirror. I needed to get my hands on more swords, so that they won't vanish and I can keep using them. 
I decided to give the sword juggling a pause, until I could ask Rafael to teach me how to smith more swords. For now, I was going to focus casting spells from the swords, as the swords came out of the mirrors. I tried to cast lightning bolt from them, but the swords were too quick and didn't give me the time to cast. If I could cast faster, then I think it would work. 
Although what I wanted didn't work out, I was pleased at the progress I was making with what I already taught myself. I still left the training room proud of my new findings.

I was walking back to see if Rafael was up and I ran into Faelyn, at the entrance to the hallway. "Hey, Joey!" She smiled and waved, like it was any normal morning.
"Hi! Did you sleep alright?" 
"Like a rock. What has you up so early?"
"I couldn't sleep so I went to practice my magic, in the training room."
"What did you practice?" 
"I was working on some new things I have found. I'll have to show you them, sometime."
"Yes, please! Where's Rafael?"
"He was asleep when I left, maybe he got up because he smelled the coffee that I started for him."
"Let's go see!" Faelyn's excitement made my heart skip a beat because she was so cute. I followed her back to the room Rafael and I shared, and I went through the door why she waited behind. I saw Rafael stirring his coffee, like always, and he looked at me with a smile. 
"You're finally up on time." Rafael chuckled and gave me a nod of approval. "What kept you up?"
"I was really excited to go back home and to bring Faelyn to where I grew up."
"Well, I am packed and ready. If you two are packed, then we can head out, now that I have had my coffee."
"I'm packed!" Faelyn said loud enough to hear through the door.
I wasted no time in grabbing my belongings and walking to the entrance of the shelter. I waited while Faelyn and Rafael grabbed their belongings and met me at the entrance to leave. We walked back to the truck that Rafael and I came in, which didn't end up totalled like I thought it would. I sat in the back seat, so that Faelyn could sit up front with Rafael.
"When we get back, will you teach me how to smith swords?" I asked.
"I don't see why not, I have a lot of metal to use."
"Thank you."
"No problem."
I leaned on the inside of the truck door and dozed off, until Rafael woke me up to tell me that we made it to Nobho. I was happy to see that we were close to home. Rafael got out of the car and made me drive to Tanasa.
When we got to Tanasa, the city was plagued with umbra, and the closer we drove, the screaming of people was almost all you could hear. We all quickly got out of the car and readied to fight the umbra. We worked our way through the streets as a group. I kept slashing the umbra, for fear the new attacks would backfire in some way. People who made it to the streets grouped up with us and stayed behind. 
I was anxious to find the house my mother was staying in when I got shoved into the dream realm. I continued to slay umbra, but there were so many that it was difficult to keep pace with all the screamers that needed to be silenced, to avoid any more of the umbra. I decided it would be best to start casting sword slashes because they could cleave through three or four screamers at a time. Rafael, fighting seriously, started using magic with his bare hands. Rafael was a lot stronger than he led me to believe. Soon enough, the street to where I lived was cleared of umbra. I hurried to the house, with Faelyn next to me. I entered the house by kicking down the door. I was appalled to find the entire apartment in disarray, the back entrance broken down, and blood splatters everywhere. My mother was nowhere to be found. All that was left was her blood, covering the walls. 
I was hurt, and I was angry with a need for vengeance. I couldn't keep down the tears that welled in my eyes. As my vision grew blurrier, my blood began to boil. All I could think about was how bad I wanted to cleanse the city of umbra, no, the world. They have taken everything away from me. 
"Fire, cleanse the darkness." I said quietly. 
Every window of the house glowed with the blazing fire. I could feel the fire put strain on me, pulling me down to my knees. "Faelyn, help…" I crawled towards her. I touched her hand and everything went silent.

Rafael jostled me awake. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm alright." I said back, sluggishly. 
"What do you remember?"
"My mother's blood and fire out the window."
"You burned all the umbra and the buildings down. The people of the city are now moving to other places. The fire was blue hot and the umbra disappeared as ashes to the wind."
"Good, they killed my mother…"
"You're lucky you're alive, after magic like that." 
"It didn't matter to me because the umbra and the gods who 'chose' me took everything I had away from me."
"Well, with some training, you could continue to burn them away, but without the city being leveled and knocking yourself out."

I got up and opened my eyes. Rafael was on my left and Faelyn was sitting quietly on my right. "I'm sorry for the worry I've caused you…" I said in shame.
"I'm just happy that you're alive." Faelyn said to me, concerned.
I stood up from the bed, feeling completely fine, and decided to grab my weapons. I walked outside to the place Rafael and I trained before leaving to find Yaoba. The better memories here made it nostalgic, even though it wasn't that long ago. This is my home, now. I started pulling up mirrors and throwing my swords in and catching them when they came out. I kept throwing them and continued trying to cast sword slashes from the blades when they came out. I wanted to try something new, and cast the sword slash spell and release them at the same time. Sure enough, I cut through some branches of the nearby trees. I kept using the sword slash spell with my sword juggle and chopping the bags of sand and other targets, appropriate for training. I have to be stronger, and fight for other people so they don't lose everything, too. 
I kept sword clashing things while letting my mind go numb, but I was interrupted when Faelyn put her hand on my shoulder.
"You really are talented as a hunter, Joey. You saved so many lives in such a short time. You have a gift."
"Thank you…" I looked at Faelyn, her yellow eyes searching my face. "I really appreciate the effort, but I will need time to find my strength and joy, again."
"If you need to talk, I am here. Maybe I can help?"
"Will you spar with me?"
"Sure!" Faelyn went to the other side of the training area, weapons ready.
I started by dropping my swords in a small mirror in front of me and then I waited for Faelyn to make the first move. Faelyn took to running towards me with her short-swords and swinging them at me. I could dodge a good amount of them, but I decided to summon two more swords and fought back, sword to sword. Faelyn fought faster and faster, until I couldn't keep up and she pulled her swords up to my neck, winning the sparring. I still pulled the sword I dropped up behind her and tapped her shoulder with one of them. "Gotcha!" I said, laughing at myself.
"You have a nice laugh!" Faelyn smiled and giggled, making my face warm.
"Thank you, Fae. I really needed that. I regret not being there to save her, but I will use that feeling to protect as many people as I possibly can." I gently smiled through my flustered feelings.
"Anything I can do to help!" Faelyn sat down on the ground. "I'll be here, if you should need me."
I went back to practicing with my sword juggling and slicing targets. The only time I stopped was to set up new targets. Focusing on the targets made the pain of my situation less on the forefront of my mind. I just imagined the targets were umbra and taking the anger of my loss out on them, violently.

When the dark of night came, Faelyn and I went back inside with a dinner of sandwiches that were already made and put on the table. Faelyn and I sat and ate, then we left to find places to sleep. There was a bed and a futon on the floor. I took the futon, so that Faelyn can have something nicer than the floor or a sleeping bag, for once.

A journey to end the darkness that pools into the waking world. Joey, attacked by the darkness, must grow to be strong enough to combat the darkness. With people she meets in her many travels, she aims to make the world better, ending the umbra once and for all.

Hi I'm Zane and I'm 10 years old, we just moved to a new house. My mom and dad we're taking out a few things when I saw a mirror, it was pretty. It was one of those mirrors that you didn't have to hang on a wall, it had pretty red flowers on it and some butterflies.

I wonder how do the butterflies feel sitting there, with nowhere to go, and they just stay like there dead.....just like my sissy. But at least I don't think they're dead since butterflies aren't shiny just colorful. 

"Mom, can I keep the mirror" 

"Sure honey, dad and I will bring it to your room"

It was time for dinner, mom and dad sat beside me but they were busy talking about how they were going to get my sister back even though she's dead. "honey eat your food and for the love of god stop playing with it"

"But it's gross"

" just eat your damn food or so help I'll-"

"I'll be grounded" 

her eyebrows tilted to make a sad expression, she looked away and quietly said "go to your room Zane". that's all she wanted, to be alone, to be sad, to be yelled at, dad always yells at her and she doesn't want me to see....maybe she just wants to protect me.

I hate being grounded it's boring, I'm in here for at least 3 days, but now I have a cool mirror. I like to play games, I pretend mirrors are TVs and I'm the star of the show, acting, singing, and even dancing. 

I was just pretending to be a prince saving a princess when I heard someone "wait.....don't kill the dragon, it's cute and what if has a family or friends did you think about that?" I looked around but I saw nothing.

"I'm over here"

I looked at the mirror and saw the shadow of a girl, "uhhh....hi, I'm Zane" 

"I'm....well I guess you can call me mirror"(yes I am aware that that's a silly name but I'm not that creative) "can I play with you"

"Sure but how are you goin-"

And just like that she came out of the mirror.

We had fun for hours, she's scared of my nightlight so we slept while cuddling. But in the morning she was gone, I guess she went back to the mirror, were friends now. But I'm still grounded so I can't leave. I slowly walk up to the door when I hear glass shatter...mom and dad were fighting again.

"I'm sick and tired of that boy, he never sleeps, he kept me up all night because of that stupid laughter"

"Calm down Evan he's just a kid" 

"Oh so it's Evan now, how about I call Ella"

"Evan please"

"Move I'm going to give that kid a piece of my mind"

"Evan stop don't do this"

"MOVE YOU STUPID BITCH"

"EVAN STOP PLEASE" 

I heard him coming so i started to step away from the door, I saw mirror coming out again, I was scared *boom* my dad kicked the door down.

"COME HERE RIGHT NOW OR ILL MAKE IT WORSE"

I froze not knowing what to do I stepped forward, he slowly raised his hand.

"THIS IS FOR KEEPING ME UP ALL NIGHT"

He moved his hand down with the full intention on making me fall, I closed my eyes and *thud*.....nothing I open my eyes and saw my dad's head missing and mirror covered in blood. I started crying as mirror left, why did it hurt...it feels like the pain I felt on my sister's death, it hurts more that a slap to the face.

All I could say at his funeral was "bye bye daddy", I should be happy but I'm not, I'm crying so much that it hurts. But I'm not happy or sad, I'm angry, I'm angry that he's gone and never said sorry about what he did, I'm angry that I never had the courage to tell him that he was wrong, I'm angry because my new friend just killed him.

Me and my mom walked back to the car slowly, she seemed happy but sad too, *click* I looked at the car mirror and saw her, she was watching me. Even though I can't see her face it feels like she's smiling, but that won't change the fact she did this she killed him.

But people don't see what I see, they think he had a heart attack they act like his head isn't missing, but I can. I hate this, why can't people see what I see it's so annoying.

*click* I walked to the door knowing that my new friend was waiting but now I'm going to give her a piece of my mind.

"Hey Zane I missed you"

"..."

" are you mad at me"

"..."

"Please talk I'm sorry"

" well sorry isn't going to justify the fact you killed my dad, what is your problem I let you into my life and you kill my dad"

"I- well he-he was going to hurt you and I just wanted to protect you and I was hungry"

" just leave me alone"

"But-"

"Go right now"
