"Hey, Jay is mom home?" I asked after we broke apart. I noticed that his temperature was higher than normal and that he grew a lot. "Jay is it okay if we come in I'm still sick" I said when I realized that we were still in the doorway. He blushed, nodded and got out of the way so we could go in.
"Mom is working right now she'll be home soon" he was cut off with my phone ringing.
"I'm sorry I have to get this."
I answered my phone and all I heard was "Phasing brot-" before I heard a scream and hung up.
I put my hands on my brothers face and said "It's okay Jay everything will be okay. I want to show you something so watch this okay?" I said and he was barely able to nod.
So I shifted, I know I ripped my clothes but I didn't care. I heard him say "wow" before his bones started to break and he screamed again but after a few minutes he shifted into his wolf form. 'Bekah what happened?' Jay asked.
'It'll be okay it won't hurt as bad next time.' I said and he nodded, I barked at my mate and he took out two pairs of shorts and a shirt. He threw a pair of shorts at Jason and the shirt and shorts at me. 'Can you turn around so that I can phase back?' I asked all he did was nod.
'But what about mystery boy?' he asked and then I remembered that we dyed his hair so that no one would recognize him.
'That is Phillip, Charlee's brother and my imprint. Now turn your fuzzy butt around' and he did as I said I went over to my mate and licked him scaring him.
"Rebekah really?" I nodded he knew what I wanted and he was zoned out so I had to get him back to earth somehow. But without saying he turned around. I phased back and put my clothes on.
"Okay Jason to phase back I want you to think of human memories and what makes you human and you'll turn back, but you'll also be naked as the wolf ripped your clothes when you phased so put the shorts on and tell us when you are dressed" and then I turned around and faced the door. I heard Jason's bones shift back into his wolf form and then I heard him shuffling around but after a few seconds he said "done" so we turned around but Phillip kept his arm around me which I didn't mind it helps keep me calm.
"So Jason do you have any questions?" I asked.
"Umm… Ya actually what is imprinting? Why do we turn into giant wolves? Is this the reason you left for a month?" Jason asked all at once.
"Okay, imprinting is like when you find your soulmate when you look into their eyes you'll know because your whole world shifts your imprint will become the most important thing. "Were you really sick?" Jason asked.
"No but I had to leave so that I could be with the pack," I said.

"Astoria. I ran to the Canadian border and met with the pack who you'll meet soon" I said and then I heard a car pull up into the driveway and when they stopped I heard the door slam shut and sighing before coming in. "Hey mom," I said.

Six wolves of various breeds were on their way to Europe from North America for a showcase for wolf preservation but something happened and the six canine compatriots find themselves somewhere in the African savanna. Will they be able to make their way back or is it more likely their stuck for good? Only with working with each other will they be able to make it through. 

This would take place in the middle of Lion King 2 and of course all rights and content pertaining to this belong to respected owners.

 Volcanic eruptions were blackening the skies. The ring of Fire was shaken regularly by shattering earthquakes, then blanketed by devastating tsunamis. Of course they stayed back a safe distance because her guard, a giant Canadian Timber wolf,  was never more than a few feet from her side. Lucy had named the wolf Shadow. The wolf knew exactly how far it could stray and still be within striking distance.  There had been no more attacks on Lucy.
 She grew mostly vegetables. But, also some natural, healing herbs. Lucy used her garden as therapy. Since her kidnapping 18 months ago, many new therapies and counseling sessions had been instituted in the Hive. 
 "Are you coming in for dinner?" Rufus sauntered over. He casually rubbed Shadow's ear.
 "Of course." Lucy brushed her hands on her apron. Time always got away from her in her garden. "I'm starving. Thanks for coming to get me." Her smile melted his heart. 
 "No problem." Rufus shrugged.  He cared for her more everyday. Lucy seemed to have no idea how he felt about her.  He would make her see how special she was to him even if it took forever.
 "What's for dinner?"
 His smile was genuine. "Tuna casserole."
 "Ewww." It was no secret that Lucy hated all fish. 
 "Come on, shrimp, we are really having lasagna."
 As they entered the pod together, Shadow following closely, Lucy swatted playfully at Rufus for teasing her. His heart jumped a little in his chest.

 A lot had changed since Anne had last seen her old pod mates over a year ago. She no longer let any random visions over take her. Len Green had taught her how to snap her mind closed, allowing only the visions she wanted to seep in. And immediately after Anne was finished with the visions she began meditation and chanting to cleanse her mind. Never again would she allow others to take control of her thinking. 
 "Hi." She stepped into the living area just as the others were sitting down to dinner. "Is that garlic bread I smell?"
 "Anne!"
 "Welcome stranger."
 "You're back!"
 One by one they pushed their chairs back. The group swarmed her. Shadow waited, alert, sizing up the new person near his master. 
 Anne hugged each in turn, hanging on a little longer when she put her arms around Ethan, pushing her nose against his chest for one split second. He smelled like home.
 "Hey, come, eat!" Rufus pulled a chair out and Georgie grabbed an extra plate and set of silverware.
 Anne sat. She looked around the table and suddenly a tear dropped onto her cheek. She hadn't realized how much she missed these guys.
 "Are you okay?" Ethan laid a hand on her arm.
 Anne wiped the tear away. "Actually I'm great. It's just so amazing to see you all! Dinner looks great, let's eat before it gets cold." They all dug in.
 During the meal, they each took turns, bringing Anne up to date on what had happened since she left that day with Len Green. 
 Lucy, of course, had made the most changes. She introduced Anne to Shadow. They all laughed when Lucy explained that the 110 pound dog was afraid of only one thing in the world: Twiskers! If Twiskers was laying on Lucy's bed, Shadow, to avoid a confrontation, would stretch out on the floor, casting baleful glances at Lucy,  imploring her to intervene. Shadow was always careful to stay a safe distance from the cat in case Twiskers got angry and swatted at the wolf's nose. Anne smiled fondly as Lucy hummed excitedly in her chair when she talked about her garden. Anne was grateful that Lucy had healed so well after her trauma.
 "Georgie?" Georgie held a special place in Anne's heart after he had thwarted Sybil and Vera's vicious attack on her sanity. 
 "Same old." He stated blandly, then ruined his nonchalant demeanor by tossing half a dozen knives in the air and juggling them without ever touching them. Anne clapped, delighted. Georgie settled the knives back on the table and smiled at her.
 Not to be upstaged, Rufus said, "Hey, watch this!" He flicked his fingers, like he was shaking water off them, but instead he snapped bolts of electric current back and forth. "It doesn't even burn me."
 "Nice."
 "And watch this." Rufus pointed at his glass of water, light arced from his fingers, the water began to bubble and boil.
 "Impressive." Rufus' enthusiasm was charming. Anne noticed Lucy watched him with a sweet smile.
 Next, Anne turned her attention to Griffen. He grinned and flickered in and out. "Still creeped out." She said,  softening the words with a smile of her own.
  Anne waited for Ethan to add his update, but he kept his head down, starting intently at his plate of lasagna. She knew from gossip that he was studying to become a teacher and mentor like Kate. He said nothing. Finally, Anne shrugged.
 "Rudy and Kate are meeting me here after dinner. Then we can discuss the reason for my visit."
 Curious, all eyes turned in her direction. Ethan dropped his fork, his appetite gone.

 As Miguel and I strolled down the street to the apartment at 6 Sumac, we sang Anti Smolkin's gruesome lyrics to Scarborough Fair and tried to figure a way to fit drool, mule, ghoul, gruel and gruesome fool into the song.
As soon I opened the apartment door, Pacman greeted us with his harness trailing from his mouth indicating his need for a walk.
'Is that a dog?' Miguel asked incredulously as Pacman stood on his hind legs, sniffed at his credentials and welcomed him as an honorary member of his wolf pack. 'He has teeth like a piranha.'
I grinned. 'Pacman thinks he's a wolf but he's really a sabre tooth gerbil.'
'The board's fixable,' Miguel pronounced after a quick inspection of my broken skateboard. 'Why don't we take it to my place? We've got some epoxy adhesive.'
I stuffed the parts of my skateboard into my backpack and we set off with Pacman trotting in front. On the way, we stopped by the Galactic Fruit and Deli, the local corner store. Miguel needed more chocolate chip cookies and I could forage for freebies.
I tied Pacman's leash to the bike rack outside the store as Miguel swung into the glass doors and smashed his nose into the glass. 'Houston, we have a malfunction,' he announced rubbing his nose. 'Technically speaking, the automatic door is on the fritz.'
I pointed to the sign on the door, Exit - Do not enter, as I looked up and grinned at the infra red detector above the entrance.
Miguel rolled eyes. 'Klutz. That's not a camera.'
I gave him a triumphant grin as the door slid aside. 'I know that. We blonds don't emit enough heat from the top of our heads. I have to look up and open my mouth to trigger the detector.'
'Grab a basket,' Miguel instructed, 'and pretended you're not with me. They know me, here.'
The store appeared almost empty except for the checkout clerk, an overstuffed gorilla wearing a greasy ball cap backwards. He was listening to his MP3 and humming tunelessly. He didn't look like a galactic refugee. He seemed like any other Canadian.  Hard to tell these days.
His small, black beady eyes watched us, without interested, as we each collected a basket and sidled along the produce counter. I recognized tomatoes, bagels and baked beans but everything else was clearly not of this world. Withered roots and shrivelled sea slugs shared shelf space with fossil fish bones packed in plastic. Salted entrails and freeze dried fungus seemed popular.
I looked around but Miguel had disappeared so I looked for the freebies. My heart lurched as I saw the extra-galactic butcher standing motionless behind the counter. He looked like the checkout clerk's twin and he glowered at me suspiciously.
'Er, um,' I stuttered. 'Ex- excuse me. Are there any free samples?'
The extra-galactic waved a meat cleaver. 'Over der,' he growled. 'Oi 'ave cheese a' cake but der's not much lef' o' der cake.'
He was right about the cake. There were only a few crumbs on the plate. There wasn't much cheese either, just two tiny pieces impaled on giant tooth picks. My stomach rumbled.
Mom had given me ten dollars for emergencies and I figured imminent starvation qualified as an emergency so I looked for Miguel in the cookie aisle. I didn't find him but I caught a glimpse of a small man as he passed the end of the racks. He was furtively dragging an aluminum briefcase on wheels. Mr Bragg.
He was probably only shopping for a jug of milk but I was curious. The store was dark, deserted and overheated and the checkout gorilla looked bored. He had abandoned the MPE player but his head was still jigging up and down in time to a wailing falsetto coming from a CD player on top of the cash. Galactic music? His beady black eyes followed me until I was lost in the maze of boxes and racks.
I was soon surrounded by what appeared to be racks of dried and canned food but all the labels were in Arabic or Chinese. Nothing looked like something I could eat. The racks were set up at odd angles and offset so the narrow, congested aisles twisted around and doubled back on themselves like a maze. It seemed to get gloomier the further I went into the store. I had a weird feeling it was a Möbius strip. I was lost in hyperspace at the back of a grocery store. I looked around feeling dizzy. I couldn't see Miguel or Mr Bragg. 
Mr Bragg's voice brought me back to reality. It was coming from a partially open steel door behind a carton of dusty rubber overshoes. I was about to knock on the door and ask for directions but then a voice boomed impatiently.
'So you brought zde radio-isotopes, goot, but you haf been vurkink at VongTime for months. I do not pay for no information.' The voice was harsh, like a rasp grating over a tin sheet. He sounded angry. 'I VONT RESULTS, SOON! '
'I need more time,' Mr Bragg's begged. 'Please, Murga.'
Adrenalin surged into my blood stream. Murga! I couldn't decide whether to run, so I stood there listening nervously.
'So, Erich,' Murga asked impatiently. 'Vot about Ziff Dion?'
My chest heaved and my heart seemed to stop.
'He's at Silverwood School,' Mr Bragg mumbled. 'He knows nothing.'
'Ein shtupid kid,' Murga ageed contemptuously. 'But, I don't vont to lose him.'
'I promise,' Mr Bragg babbled nervously. 'I will not lose him.'
After a moment Murga hissed, 'Vun ozder matter. Did you see zdat verdammt käseschnitzer, Onderdonk?'
Mr Bragg mumbled something then Murga added, 'I find out he is a Time Agency spy. Zo I haf no choice. He is curtailed definitively . . . Pity . . . I ruined a goot suit.'
'His suit!' Mr Bragg exclaimed. 'What if the police find the body?'
'Har, har.' Murga laughed. 'Not his suit. Mine suit. Har, har. His body decorates a pingo in Nunavut. If police find it, zdey vill tink he is vell preserved, six hundert year old man. Har, har.'
My knees went weak with shock. Murga had killed Triple Oh!
Murga's voice dropped to a menacing hiss. 'I must finish zdis kronog, zo I can get back.   Erich, don't vaste anymore of my time, Aay?' The final "eh?" was a parody of a Canadian accent, as if he had rehearsed it to deceive an immigration officer.
I ducked behind the overshoes as Mr Bragg stumbled through the door and scurried toward the checkout. He looked terrified. I would have felt sorry for him but I was horrified about Onderdonk's death.
A sizzling noise started up behind the partially open door and a brilliant blue light cast flickering shadows among the racks of produce. A part of my brain was telling me to get out of the store fast, but curiosity won. I stumbled through a clutter of empty boxes and looked through a gap in the door.
It was a walk-in freezer lit by a fluorescent lamp illuminating several animal carcasses dangling from an overhead conveyor. A strange odour filled the air, a mixture of freezer smell and chlorine. There was no sign of Murga. The intense flickering light came from behind a partition making everything seem sharper, brighter, surreal. I had a feeling I ought to know what it was.
I stepped into the room and almost tripped over a man curled up in the corner. I recoiled in horror thinking he was dead but he moved slightly and then I saw his arms and legs were tied. He wore a dirty, torn parka, padded trousers and well-worn boots. The parka hood covered his head and tape had been wrapped around his heavily bearded face covering his mouth. I reached out gingerly and put two fingers to his neck. He had a strong carotid pulse and seemed to be breathing normally. I shook him gently. 'Are you all right?'
He turned his head as his eyes flickered open and looked at me vaguely. I stood up so fast, I almost fell over in shock. The dirty, scruffy man was my missing father.
'Dad,' I gasped, 'it's me, Ziff. How did you get here?'
He tried to speak but the tape prevented him. I looked around until I found a box cutter and carefully cut through the tape and his bindings. He sat up painfully, rubbing his wrists as he pulled the tape away from his mouth. 'Ziff,' he croaked hoarsely, 'Murga caught me . . . trying to escape.'
I tried to help him stand up but he pushed me away and fell back. 'I can't walk . . . Drugs.'
'Dad. You've got to tell me what is happening.'
'I shifted the nexus location,' he mumbled indistinctly. 'Murga had to fix it . . . He'll be back any moment. Go . . . get help.'
I ran to the check out counter clerk.  He was still arguing with a customer.  'Please call the police. 911,' I panted. 'There's a man in the freezer. He's been attacked.'
The checkout gorilla lifted one earphone away from his ear and glared at me. 'In duh frizzer?' he asked suspiciously. 'Vot is wrong? Vee don't 'av' men in duh frizzer.'
'Please call,' I pleaded. 'It's urgent.'
He reluctantly picked up a cell phone and tapped 911. 'Oy vont police. Galactic Deli on Roo Bonk Street . . . Da . . . Bonk Street . . . Da. Ottawa . . . Da . . . Capital of Canada.  Man is attacked.'
'You mean Bank Street,' told him.
'Da . . . Dat is vot I yust said . . . Bonk Street.'
I ran back, looking around for Miguel, tripped over a carton of frozen fish and crashed through the freezer door just as a side of beef slid aside and an enormous figure appeared outlined against the light. It was wearing a bloodstained white coat over a pink jump suit. It looked like a man but in place of a head there was a black cylinder with a black window in the front . . . a welder's mask. A large gloved hand shoved the mask up to reveal a close-cropped, bullet-shaped head with a wide jaw on a thick neck. I couldn't see the eyes. They were hidden by a slot of black light that writhed as if there was something inside trying to get out. I shivered, and not because I was cold. It looked like a cartoon. I searched for a more descriptive word . . . Alien.
'I - I was looking for the checkout?' I stammered hopefully.
Murga was twice my height and three times heavier but he moved toward me like a dancer. 'Zo, Ziff Dion,' he hissed ominously. Timing ist sehr goot.'
I darted for the door but he swept me up, like a doll, in a bear hug. It was not a friendly gesture. His huge head loomed above me and there was a stench of rotting fish.
And then, something weird happened. The front of my brain clicked and tingled inside my skull and in some strange way I felt as if Murga was tossing me into the air.
But he grunted in surprise and tightened his grip as I slid up through his arms. My brain slowed down as my head came level with his round ball-like face. Then I did what my soccer coach taught me. I slammed the top of my forehead into his nose, hitting just below the black slot. There was a crunching sound as his head snapped back, his grip slackened and I fell to the floor.
I must have been stunned for a moment for the next thing I saw was the ugliest face I had ever seen. It was black and hairy with a flat turned-up nose and two wicked looking fangs . . . No! Tusks. The wide spaced eyes gazed at me with amused indifference.
Murga puffed smoke into my face and my body began to feel numb, I could move only with great effort and then I couldn't move.

There were photographs on the investigation report and on the first page, there was a strong white man in a thick leather coat and a big cotton hat, standing in front of a low, small cabin. The photograph was a little blurred due to the quality and time. It looked a bit creepy and faint.
Li Du read on. There was no sign of life in the village. Rabel did not think much of it at that time. There was a questions and answers record in the report.
Q: Have you been to this village before?
A: No, it is my first time here in the far north area. You know, Mr. Cop, there is a story about Wendigo in the snow in the north. We hunters are scared of him because he eats people.
Q: Then why did you enter the village without thinking twice?
A: Sir, I was cold and hungry, and I felt like I was going to die, so I didnʼt think much about it when I saw the village. I had contact with the Inuit people before. Although they had weird customs, they were friendly and welcomed guests and at least they could save my life.
Q: Tell me, what did you first see in the village? At first glance, what did you see notice?
A: The first thing I saw was the houses, the layer of snow, and smoke from the kitchens. Actually what really mattered was not what I saw at first, but what I felt. When I got near the village, I felt there was something wrong with it, it was very weird.
Q: Why?
A: I am a hunter. I have a gun, I have dogs, you know, Newfoundlands, a very courageous breed. However, when they got near the village, they suddenly laid down on the ground all at once and refused to go any further.
I didnʼt think much about it at first. I was too tired and hungry and was feeling very cold, so I went into the village by myself. However, the village was quiet, without a sound, you know what I mean? I approached the village, but there was no sound at all...
Q: What does this mean?
A: I just felt weird and I didnʼt think much about it because I was really tired and hungry and cold and I felt like I was going to die and I just wanted hot water, or even better, hot milk.
Then when I thought about it, I realized the weird thing was that there was no barking. The Inuit are like us, hunters, and have many dogs in every house. However, when I entered the village, there was no dog barking. It was very odd...
Li Du continued to leaf through the dialogue, which revolved around the visitor's first impressions of the village.
The hunter, named Rabel, entered the village and shouted a few times, but no one came out. He thought he was on the verge of breaking down, and his voice was hoarse and low, which was a possible explanation why no one heard him, so he pushed open a door at random.
There was no one in the room, but there was hot water in the pan on the hearth. He did not care too much for good manners and drank some hot water first. He then searched through the kitchen and found something to soak in the hot water to eat.
With the hot water and some rest, his condition had improved significantly. He felt strange just after that and searched around the village.
To his surprise, he found that not only was food being cooked in some of the houses in the village but also that the villagersʼ belongings and granaries were in perfect order and had no trace of being moved at all.
However, there was no life in the village, no man, no dogs, not another animal.
At that moment, he realized something. He thought something had happened to the village. Something that had taken the people away. However, it was hard to say what. There were no traces of a fight in the village. The Inuit people were very tough. They kept dogs and have guns at home, and each of them was good at fighting.
As Rabel thought of it, he noticed another odd situation. Not a house in the village had dogs, knives, or guns left around. All the weapons in every one of the houses were gone.
From this point of view, it looked like the village has been attacked by some horrible beast, and the villagers took their guns and dogs to fight it off. However, that didnʼt make sense either, not only because there was no sign of fighting in the village, but also because there were no footprints or other tracks in the snow around it...
Rabel felt terrified and left the village with his dogs, despite the exhaustion he still felt. He found the nearest police station and reported the situation.
The report continued to describe the situation. A few hours later, the royal Canadian mounted police arrived at the scene, according to the investigation report. At that time another hunter, Armand Laurent, and his two sons passed by this place too.
The Laurent family lived in a nearby settlement that was in conflict with the Inuit village, so the Canadian police seized them and questioned them as suspects.
The results of the investigation were still very unclear. The relationship between the white hunter villages and the Inuit villages was not good. After all, both sides were direct competitors and both relied on hunting for survival. However, they had quarreled at the most and did not get into any bloodshed before.
Armand came to the Inuit village because yesterday some hunters in his village saw the Inuit digging up their ancestral graves. The white hunters didnʼt know what they were up to. Therefore, they asked Armand and his sons to come and check what was going on.
The Canadian mounted police went to the white village and found that there were no casualties and no signs of fighting around the village, suggesting that the Inuit village had not disappeared as a whole because of having clashes with them.
At this point, they investigated the Inuit graves and found that as Armand had said, all of them had been hollowed out.
Now it was even stranger. The Inuit village had lost not only the living but also the dead!
The police and the white hunters realized something big had happened.
Disturbing the graves was a taboo for the Inuit, and doing so on a large scale was unthinkable. Therefore, if the Inuit dug out their graves and took away the dead bodies of their ancestors, it meant that it was their will to give up their place.
So, where did they go?
The final stage of research was fruitless. Because the village was so close to Lake Angikuni, the RCMP guessed they might have entered the lake.
They were right. They went to the lake and saw some dog poop, suggesting that Inuit dogs had been here.
However, they could not find much more than this, and eventually, the case was closed and labeled as a mystery, with at least a hundred people in a village disappearing without a trace.
In fact, there was no record of the name of the Inuit village, or the number of people or dogs, because the Inuit did not consider themselves Canadian, even though they stayed in Canada, and did not cooperate with the Canadian officials.
"These Inuit disappearances sound very similar to Steveʼs," said Li Du after reading the report.
Brother Wolf pointed to a picture on the report and said, "Yes, very similar, and look at the island of Angikuni. It is not far from the shore, but the survey report did not mention the island."
Then he pointed to a paragraph at the end of the report as he said this. "And here, boss, that is something to watch out for, too."

Storage auctions, old goods trade, re-estate sales and gold-digging. But the truth is, if one wants to make money, then the supreme way is through searching for the legendary treasures. 
Holding the fort, there’s an ocelot, a wolf, and an Andes condor. At the side, there’s a loyal hound, an irascible ape, and an African honey badger. Who said that you can only rely on humans when treasure hunting?! 

Sam: "Jim, we need you in Michigan. Now."

Teleporting over, Jim found several corpses of enormous insects, riddled with bullet holes.

Jim: "What the hell?"
Sam: "Who the hell?"
Jim: "It's Jim, stuff happened, what's going on here?"
Sam: "Alright, but you're going to tell me how you've become half your age afterwards. Report came in yesterday, local police received information of oversized animals wandering around. We got called in soon after, we've found over a hundred of these things."

Activating detection, Jim searched the area. He quickly found a vortex floating slightly above the great lakes, a dozen giant mantis-like creatures tumbled out of it and splashed into the water below. Struggling to the shore, they headed to the treeline.

Jim found thousands of monsters scattered through the woods, even more dead at the bottom of the lakes. He had a bad feeling, these vortices and monsters reminded him of Amgula. The people there had been adapting to the situation for thousands of years, but Earth's people weren't prepared for relentless attacks from all directions.

Jim: "I've found thousands more, they seem to be dropping into the lake from somewhere else. They're on the Canadian side too, call them up, these things keep coming."

During the time he took to explain, another vortex opened and dumped out an enormous wolf. 'There it is.' Below the lakebed he found a small cave, a 10 foot tall crystal was inside, floating above the cave floor. Sensing the mana, a quick burst of neutral mana shot out of the crystal and created another vortex. 'Appraisal.'

Jim took a minute to see if he could figure out where this crystal was connected to. Connecting his own mind to it, he felt something shudder. There was another entity, another mind. 'This must be that Xuntli?' Feeling along the other's connection, there was a resistance trying to keep him at bay. 'Not on Earth?' Jim worked his mind on overdrive, all five duplicates sharing the load. 'Found it!'

The other mind pulled back, the crystal shattered. Jim smirked, 'A bit late to back out now.'

Jim: "I found the source, going there now. Use these."
Sam: "Really? I-"

Jim vanished, a dozen statues suddenly appeared nearby.

Sam: "He can be a real jerk...How do I use statues?"

--- Sam's POV End---

'Damn, it's HOT!' Jim found himself in a cave, the place was sweltering. Nearby he found an altar with a slaughtered animal on it, it looked like an oversized sick albino rat, missing patches of fur. 'Can it be considered sick now that its dead?'

He saw the burnt remains of something at the foot of the altar. Using detection, he found a strange creature not far away. Short and squat, it had a horizontally elongated head, with four eyes on stalks. The creature's arms extended to the ground, the claws scraping the cave floor looked rather sharp.

It seemed to be performing some sort of ritual in front of a carved stone archway.

Hurrying over, Xuntli noticed him. It began yelling something at him.

Suddenly, a large red vortex opened within the stone arch. Xuntli turned back to look at the vortex, it seemed to be about to go through.

Jim: "You're not leaving."

Xuntli turned back around and continued shouting, Jim still couldn't understand. Jim was somewhat astounded at this guy's ability to shout for so long without taking a break. He began understanding the creature's language.

Xuntli: "My Lord's designs will not be interfered with!"
Jim: "And your lord is?"
Xuntli: "Ignorance! Great Lord Karna will destroy your pitiful race!"
Jim: "Thanks for the info, time to die."

Dashing forward, Jim grabbed Xuntli's head and slammed it into the cave wall. Skull fragments and gore exploded outwards as the concussive force ripped apart stone.

The vortex seemed to be destabilizing, Jim quickly placed a marker here before rushing through. With a terrible feeling like he was being torn apart, Jim landed in another place.

He was on a small island of rock surrounded by a lake of magma. Before him was a massive pillar of fire, occasional gaps in the flames allowed him to see something inside. Reaching detection inside, Jim found a huge demon. Scales, Large Horns, Hunchback, 30 Feet Tall. An intense feeling of suppression overcame him. 'Appraise.'

'This thing is a lot stronger than me.' A weight pressed down on Jim's mind, an angry booming voice resounded in his head.

Karna: "A mortal has entered my domain?"
Jim: "Why did you attack Earth?"
Karna: "You demand a reason? I do as I please, you have no say in it. Now, I will have you die."

Jim launched six barrages of Light Arrows toward Karna. Karna's right arm shot out of the flame pillar, claw outstretched towards Jim. The light arrows harmlessly dissipated after coming in contact with the arm. 'Okay, something stronger.'

Circulating Great Light Fist and activating Beast Assault, Jim launched all five clones out simultaneously. Six pillars of light and six qi beasts collided with Karna's claw. His scales chipped slightly, but the arm continued forward, slicing through the first duplicant, second, third, fourth, and fifth. 

The claw's momentum finally slowed, piercing into Jim's outstretch arm, shredding it to pieces.

Karna: "Oh? Blocking my attack, impressive. Take my curse."

Before Jim could react, dark energy streamed out of Karna's claw and penetrated his body. Jim was BURNING, the pain was intense, the core of his being was tearing apart. True Soul Fire suddenly activated on its own, colliding against the energy attacking his body. Jim's chest exploded outward, his organs on display.

Jim collapsed on the ground, he was losing consciousness. 'Damnit. He's this much stronger?' His muscles were being shredded, blood spewed out of every orifice, bones cracked and shattered. 'I have...to...'

Jim faded away.

A middle aged man stumbles across an artifact which changes his life in ways he could not imagine.

Author's Note: I'm sure you guys have noticed the lack of updates. I don't have writer's block nor are there any events preventing me from writing. I honestly just don't have to motivation to keep going for now. Thus, I'm putting the novel on Hiatus, I hope everyone has enjoyed what I've written, thank you.
