If Caelia were an internet personality, she wouldn't have to worry about commotions like the ones that happened in Asteria. She wouldn't even need to leave the house, which would make it easy for Alexa to keep track of her.

"Don't cheer up so fast. Don't forget, the internet is a cruel place, especially for someone who has no idea what it is."

"Leave it to me!"

Alexa was excited before, but only now she realizes the responsibility she have in teaching a goddess who never had contact with technology about the complex universe that is the internet. At the very least, she hoped Caelia hadn't run away from home again. Upon entering her house, she wastes no time in changing clothes and goes straight to her bedroom.

"Caelia, I need to talk with... what are you doing?"

Caelia was on Alexa's bed, leaning over a stack of books. She was staring steadily at one in particular, but she was barely able to hold it, as her hands were shaking nervously. Her breath was heavy and her face was flushed, she was visibly apprehensive and Alexa couldn't understand why.

"Nasty... this is too nasty! But for some reason, I can't avert my eyes off this thing! What is this, some kind of wizardry?! Help me, Alexa!"

Alexa manages to take a look at the content of the book she was reading and realizes the reason for her nervousness. It was a BL novel, the type of reading that attracted a female audience interested in homosexual relationships of the opposite gender. Alexa had bought this out of curiosity, but she never brought another similar book home, not that she didn't like it, she just wasn't interested enough. It wasn't even a heavy one, but it was enough to make Caelia speechless.

"Why are you acting like this? It's just a..."
"No! This is not just a book! This is... a relic!"
"What are you talking about?"

Caelia grips the book stronger, she looked like she was about to pass out at any moment.

Alexa looks at her desktop computer which wasn't of the latest generation but also not to be thrown away. She was into games, but not enough to invest a lot of money in her computer's performance.

"You mean, that thing? It was on my side all the time, I didn't know there was anything special about it."
"Don't worry, you'll be impressed by it soon."

She presses a button on the CPU that makes the monitor screen glow. In a few seconds, it loads all its initial applications and it was ready to be used.

"Okay, this is a computer. It's a machine that serves to perform various tasks. Nowadays, it's impossible to live without one, and practically everyone has at least one of these at home, but the way they use it is what sets them apart. Some use it to work, others to study, others to play... in other words, much of people's identity is related to how they use this machine. That is why you will learn it."

Caelia nods in agreement. Alexa wasn't even surprised anymore at this point.

"Well, this is not just limited to communication."

Alexa types a bunch of words on an internet search site and in seconds the screen reveals several images of Caelia, as well as news regarding things that have happened in the past few days.

'Hey, that's me!"
"Yep. You're famous, you know. Thanks to the power of the internet, everyone is talking and sharing information about you right now. By the way, this is a search engine. You can type whatever you want and it will show you all the information you want. Even BL novels, but please, don't do it."

Thanks to Alexa's demonstration, Caelia was gradually gaining interest. It was still a little complicated for her, but it was curious enough for her to want to understand.

Caelia continued to watch Alexa explaining her about the benefits and harms of the internet with attention. It was amazing how she could ease her worries in a matter of seconds, she really felt a confidence coming from Alexa.

"Alexa, why are you doing this for me?"

Alexa pauses. Caelia's sudden question makes her lose her concentration and feel embarrassed.

Alexa gives her an awkard smile. Caelia doesn't know how to feel yet. When did they become friends? There was no such thing as a contract or request of some sort. What friends even are in the first place? The only close relationship she had before was with her sisters, and yet it wasn't a very friendly one. It was much more corporate, as if they were just together to fulfill their role as goddesses.

"A-Anyway, let's proceed."

Young Master Han's loud shout could be heard from within the room, "Sword Demon, if you've got something to say, say it out loud!"
Sword Demon was not in the room anymore, however. Instead, he was leaning over the bar counter and pestering Ray, "Where're my drinks? You called me over to give them, right? Hand them over!"
Ray smiled wryly as he looked toward Gu Fei and Brother Assist, knowing they were all friends.
Brother Assist was about to stand up when Gu Fei stopped him. He looked around and spotted two Warriors sitting at a table nearby, both wearing beginner's equipment.
"Hey, fellas!" Gu Fei called the two.
They turned their heads.
"Do me a favor! Throw that guy by the counter in the back alley. I'm a Mage and I don't have the strength to do it," Gu Fei pointed at Sword Demon as he spoke to them.
The two barely registered his words and remained seated.
Gu Fei thought for a moment before taking out two gold coins, "Please help!"
The two Warriors' eyes twinkled. They did not care whether he was a Mage or not. What they cared for was the gold coins he was offering. Gold coins were hard to come by in Parallel World for a majority of newbie players. In fact, Gu Fei could already be considered as a wealthy player in-game after yesterday's mission payout.
They two Warriors took the coins and grabbed Sword Demon. Sword Demon was so drunk he could barely remain upright, let alone resist being dragged out of the bar by the two. It was not long before the two came back and excitedly asked, "Do you still have someone you want to throw out, bro?"
"Nope, that's it. Thanks a lot!" Gu Fei said to the two Warriors.
"Is this fine?" Brother Assist asked in a hesitant voice.
"Don't worry about it. It's all good," Gu Fei waved his hand nonchalantly. At this moment, Young Master Han's singing voice could be heard from the room. Gu Fei had the urge to call the two Warriors back again.
"He looks like a cultured man of refined taste, and often waxing poetically. Why is he…" Gu Fei muttered.
"It seems like you don't know," Brother Assist laughed, "Young Master Han is a new name he came up with for Parallel World. His previous alias was Drinking Addict."
"Wouldn't that make Sword Demon Smoking Addict?" Gu Fei said.
"That's actually his name in other games before switching to Magic Domain," Brother Assist confided seriously.
"No way!" Gu Fei was utterly taken aback, "So why the change of name?"
"Well… Heard it's because Smoking Addict and Drinking Addict were being used as BL material by fujoshis. Sword Demon would rather die than to call himself Smoking Addict again by the time he switched to playing Magic Domain. Master Han followed suit now that they are playing Parallel World together," Brother Assist explained.
"Oh…" Gu Fei drawled and then asked, "What's a fujoshi?"
"Uhmm… It's a very strange creature," Brother Assist said.
Gu Fei decided not to dig further since it sounded rather complex. He waved at Ray, "Ray, get me two glasses of your most expensive liquor."
"Isn't that a little too much?" Brother Assist felt stunned. As a self-proclaimed information expert, he knew very well how much the drink would cost.
"Don't worry about it," Gu Fei said flippantly as his order was brought to them. Gu Fei inhaled sharply when he asked the price, "That's really expensive! Put it on Young Master Han's tab!"
"Ah?" Ray was taken aback.
"Isn't he still here? Just let him pay for our order," Gu Fei said.
"Oh!" Ray did not say anything further. He was not afraid of not being paid. Not paying for something was considered as fraud and was something penalized by the system. "Mmmhmm. Especially when it's not your money," Gu Fei lifted his glass and finished it in one go, "Ray, get me another one."
Brother Assist was speechless.
"Oh, yeah. You said you want to ask me something," Brother Assist quickly inquired when he saw Gu Fei accepting the second glass from Ray. He was worried that Gu Fei would become drunk like those two.
"Yup. I do," Gu Fei placed his glass down, "Is there a type of quest in this game that two separate parties can acquire and be pitted against each other? For example…" Gu Fei was worried that he did not phrase the question well, so he was about to give an example when he saw Brother Assist bob his head, "Yup. That happens. Actually, it's one of the selling points of Parallel World. Guild quests usually have plenty of participants, so the chances of acquiring a competitive quest at guild level are pretty high, whereas getting a competitive solo quest is much lower."
"The content of such usually focuses on snatching or protecting something," Brother Assist's information network was truly amazing as it was exactly the situation Amethyst Rebirth found itself in.
"But…" Gu Fei still had some doubts and began to describe the situation Amethyst Rebirth was in to Brother Assist.
When Brother Assist heard everything, he laughed, "That's their mistake. What they discussed and planned for is a search mission called 'Find the Treasure Chest'. But the quest they received is most probably the 'Retrieval of the Stolen Treasure Chest'. While both quests seem similar, the goals are different. No plan is needed for 'Retrieval of the Stolen Treasure Chest' since every opponent the quest will set guild up against is not fixed. There's essentially no definite strategy guide for that."
"That makes sense!" Gu Fei nodded his head repeatedly. He lifted his neck and finished the glass once more, "Ray, liquor!"
"How's your alcohol tolerance?" Brother Assist felt apprehensive.
"Don't worry," Gu Fei laughed. "I'm still sober with this drink. I'm not like those two."
Brother Assist nodded and casually asked, "Why are you asking me these questions for? Did you join a guild?"
"Nahhh! Why would I?" Gu Fei hurriedly retorted. He would be a laughingstock if he admitted he was stuck with a bunch of ladies, so he slightly tweaked the details of what happened at Yunjiao Lakeside. He recounted the entire ordeal to Brother Assist from the perspective of a bored player crawling after the people snatching the treasure chest.
"Yunjiao Lakeside… Hey!" Brother Assist, the information king, was obviously familiar with the location and immediately revealed a knowing smile once he heard that Gu Fei had gone there.
"I was just passing by!" Gu Fei quickly added, "Oh, yeah. I even met Royal God Call and he was doing the mission to protect a treasure chest." Gu Fei originally did not intend to mention Royal God Call and only added that bit to divert the conversation.
"Oh? He's in a guild? I've never heard of that before," Brother Assist said.
"His guild must be pretty strong to be able to fend off all the others who were trying to snatch the treasure chest. I heard all the players were expert at using skills like Cyclone, Snipe, and even stealthy Backstab," Gu Fei said.
"That's truly pretty strong! Only one guild in Yunduan City would be that strong," Brother Assist said.
"What guild?"
"Traversing Four Seas."
"That name's so old-fashioned!"
Brother Assist laughed, "Guilds with old-fashioned names in online games won't be weak."
"Why?"
"Just think! Anyone could come up with such an old-fashioned name. But actually acquiring the name for their guild means that it must have been set up just as the game was released. The sooner they establish their guild, the more time they get to polish their skills. So of course they won't be too weak," Brother Assist explained.

Gu Fei headed back to Amethyst Rebirth once he left the bar. Since he now understood the whole situation, he decided to report everything to the ladies so as to let them see the whole picture as well and stop their endless grumbling.
Any guild member had permission to open the headquarters' door. The ladies inside looked at him once he pushed open the door to enter, albeit their gazes somewhat varied.
After hearing what had happened over at Yunjiao Lakeside, they understood that Gu Fei's involvement let them acquire a treasure chest. However, there was one major issue: Gu Fei personally knew the sniping Archer.
Everyone's impression of Gu Fei boiled down to three points: high level, lousy equipment, and randomly added stats.
The last two points alone were indicative of his idiocy, which was more than enough for them to ostracize him. Hearing that such a Mage had defeated a level 30 well-geared Archer was unbelievable, so finding out that Gu Fei knew the Archer made the ladies suspect that he was a mole. This might mean that those two had acted the part together to help Gu Fei establish an image that would help him gain a foothold within the all-female guild.
Lie Lie came up with this speculation and she even posited an example: How could a lousy Mage get to such a high level? Except for leeching off the experience points of a skilled partner, what other way was there?
Xiaoyu was the one who told the story as well. Given how unreliable Xiaoyu was… It needed no further elaboration. Even if there was a very obvious problem that cropped up back then, she would not have noticed it.

In the end, all the women split into three factions. Lie Lie, who insisted that Gu Fei was a wolf in sheep's clothing, had the most supporters. July, Luo Luo, and a few others belonged to the second faction that felt the ridiculous story woven by the ladies was impossible. Xiaoyu was the only one who belonged to the group that understood nothing at all.
When Gu Fei entered the house, all three faction members stared straight at him. They all smelled the scent of alcohol once he got about two steps near them. The ladies in the first faction who already had a poor impression of Gu Fei immediately dropped him down hundreds of points.
Even the ladies in the second faction could not help but wrinkle their brows. Having suffered such a disastrous setback in their first guild mission, Gu Fei actually left to drink while they wallowed in their disappointment. It was far too insensitive to say the least.
Only Xiaoyu remained oblivious to everything, "What's that smell? Ah, what sort of smell is that?"

Li Yun frowned. He was suprised by the sudden change of his house. From a modern setting to an ancient one. The chaise where he was laid was made of wood with red, fluffy embroidered covers.

He looked at his hand and notice a silver ring inlaid with little colorless stones at his ring finger.It sparkled when the light hits its surface.

" A silver ring? And its inlaid with cute stones?"

Realization suddenly round house kicked Li Yun's mind. His face froze and his eyes widen in shock when he remembered his actions before this bizarre things happened.

Well, he chatted with LetSail and someone joins the chat which was YourHusbando. Afterwards, LetSail left the chat then YourHusbando's message was what he last seen...

---I will wait for you, Li Yun.

And when he woke up, his home underwent a grand transformation but the weird thing was...they made it fast, as in very fast unlike him that took six hours.

He just lost consiousness then...*poof*, his apartment was renovated. Actually, he liked the design but the question was, where was his appliances? Where's Lapiz? and lastly, why he was wearing ancient robes? Is it part of the set? An ancient themed free home renovation with free ancient robes for a more ancient feel? And also why one of the users know his real name? Are they stalkers?

Li Yun pondered while biting his nails. It's a bad habit, right?

Afterwards, she dropped her plastic bags that was full of many merchandise due to shock. She shouted his name in search for him while she strided the room and suddenly she laughed like a maniac.

" F*ck! Did this grandama time-traveled? What a nice surprise! Bye Bye, Yun Yun. Bye to your curse shipping career! I'll made a BL novel paradise here at this era and will be the founder of the rotten apple club.Hahaha!!! "

Playing Knighthood Online somehow helps me in releasing my stress. Before, I cannot understand why my students would waste away their money and time just to play games. But now, well I still don't understand why they chose their online life in the expense of a more productive and meaningful life that they can have had they given more time for studying, but I can say that somehow I understand why they play.

I believe in the saying "Walk the talk", so back when I was still not playing and add the fact that we experienced first-hand the effect of playing online games with Theo back then, I would always nag at my students about reasons on why they should not waste their time and money in playing games. There were even times when I argue with my male colleagues slash friends who also play online games. And so, now that i have my own online game to play, do you think I will announce it to everyone? I say no! That would be a big slap to my face. I know that's cowardice, but who cares? And so, to atone for my cowardice, I stopped nagging others about what they do. 

But then again, things don't always go according to plan, right? A few days after the incident with my sword, we classroom advisers had a short meeting with our principal, Mr. Tan. It was to announce that on our next homeroom session, the Parents Teachers Association of our school requested that we discuss the issue about students playing online games and its impact in their social and academic life.

I cringed. Of all topics, why this one? It's not like I can say to my students that it is better to stop playing online games while in fact I'm also playing myself. I will just feel guilty and my message will definitely not come out as sincere. I looked at some of my male colleagues who I knew play games. What are they going to speak in front of their class? Should I approach them and ask them? But that would give away my secret. I am starting to feel stress and anxiety building up. Then I heard whispering from some of my fellow teachers seated in front of me.

"You know I just learned from my class president that more than half of the boys in our class do not eat snacks and sometimes skips lunch just to have enough money to play online games." Said the one directly in my front. She is Mrs. Yap, and she is talking to Ms. Cruz.

"That's almost the same case in my class. These kids, they should learn to manage their time well and prioritize more on what is really important."

"That's true. All they do is play games and their studies are being neglected."

Hey, that's an idea. I don't have to be too guilty if what I'll discuss with my class is about time management and prioritizing what is more important, which is their study. They kept whispering about other stuff but since I already have an idea of what I will discuss I stopped listening.

The day of our homeroom class.

Usually, I use this time to let my students watch short videos about different topics then at the end of the video I let them discuss what they watched. There are also times where I prepare games to let the students have some physical activity once in a while. So when I entered the room, everyone is so hyped up and is eager to know what their activity will be for today.

I searched for a video in the internet showing how playing online games in an excessive period of time affects the life of the players and the people around them. I specifically searched for a video which did not suggest stopping players on playing their games.

"Alright, everybody take your seat. I have here a video which I want you to watch carefully." I looked around as the students prep themselves on their seats ready to start with the video. "After this, just like before, we will have an open discussion of your thoughts about what you will watch. Are you ready?"

"Yes Teacher!"

"Ok, here it is." Then I clicked the play button.

"Can i have my sibling join our guild?"
"Is your sibling a girl?"
"How old is she?"
"Is she cute?"
"Can I woo her?"
"Should I start calling you brother in law now?"
"Can you send me her picture?"
"..." Seriously, these people are nuts.

Ren was what you called an otaku, watching anime all day, playing video games, and reading manga and web novels.

"Huh what is this?" Ren muttered, in his screen while he was downloading his favorite anime show, a sudden pop up shot out.

"What is this? Some kind of new game? Well whatever, I was bored anyway better try it." Ren clicked yes, and another window popped out, it was a character creation screen. 

So it really was a game, and oh wow this character create screen, has a lot of choices. Let's see what type of character should I make. Oh right should I make it look like Ragna from that fighting game I recently played. That guy look cool, ok let's see here...

Ren used the character customization screen the best he can, and was able to create a character that looked exactly like Ragna. He is a young adult with white spiky hair and heterochromia: his left eye being green and his right being red. His clothing consists of a hybrid of modern, futuristic and old features. He wears a vibrant red sleeved jacket with two long thin tails hanging from the back. Under it is a black shirt with three red belts and also several belts covering his right arm. He wears a pair of black gloves with a red shell on the backs of the hands. 'Yep this was the same look as the Ragna I played, the only difference is the right arm where the fake arm was suppose to be.

After creating his character, Ren clicked the create character button. A noticed popped out, "Have you finalized you character creation?" Ren clicked yes, and went to a stat allocation screen. 

Let's make this character near what I think Ragna's stats will be like. Strength:50 Dexterity:38 Agility:30 Endurance:50 Mana:40

"There we go finished." Upon clicking finish, a load screen came out. 

Overpowered system loading,.....

"Overpowered system? Is that the name of the game?" While Ren was thinking, a sudden white flash came from his computer, on seeing the light Ren started losing consciousness.

A gentle breeze brushed Ren's face, afterwards he felt the pitter patter of rain dripping on his face. 

What the hell, is my roof leaking? Ren slowly opened his eyes. Once he opened his eyes what he saw shocked him, his roof was gone, not just that he's room was gone. 

"WHAT THE HELL!?" Wait where the hell am I? What happened? 

All around him where just an endless ocean of trees, Ren was in a forest but he couldn't remember how he got here.

While Ren was confused and slightly frightened, he heard a robotic voice inside his head. 

'Ding' "Congratulations host for activating the overpowered system! From here on out, show the world what true overpowering force truly is." 

 "The system has acknowledged, Ren player name Ragna as a beginner, The system will now begin distributing Overpowered Beginner's pack." Just as the the robotic message rang out, a window pop up appeared before Ren.

What the hell is this? Okay.... I need to cool down, the last thing I remember was downloading a computer game... Don't tell me, like in those anime and light novels I read, I actually got transported to another world with a system!!! 

"OH YES!!!!" Wow finally something exciting actually happened! I can't believe I got transported to another world, and of all the cheats I could have, I get the system type cheat, and this system is actually literally claiming to be an overpowered system. How awesome! 

Ok then, let's double check my status... I see so I became Ragna the blo*dedge, my favorite character, in the recent fighting game I played. The skill Invincible barrier seems to be a passive given by the system, the Intermediate sword skill is also a passive, and I actually feel I can do the moves Ragna used in the game. 

The Experience points and level are things I already know of, but what is this Overpowered Points? Let's see if I can ask the system.

'Hey system can you tell me about what this Overpowered Points is suppose to be?'

"Answering the host's question, Overpowerd points are used to gain power ups." 

'What kind of power ups?'

"The Overpowered System provides power ups of every kind the host can think of. All the games, anime, and books the host has watched and read can be reference for abilities that can be power ups." 

'Really!? That's awesome, can you show me a list of the abilities that cost 100 Overpowered Points below.'

Another pop up window appeared.

'That's it!? System can you show me how much it cost to get a sharingan from Nar*to or the Emperor's eye from Kur*ko'

What's with that difference? Well I get it the Sharingan can copy skills and moves, while the Emperor's eye can see the subtle details of the body or like the anime said, predict the future. 

'So system how do I actually get Overpowered points?'

"To acquire Overpowered Points, host must show others that he's overpowered."

'That's simple enough to understand, so how do I get experience? Do I kill things or something like that?'

"Correct killing can give the host experience, but there are other ways to gain experience, but host's level is still too low to use the other ways."

'I see... I kinda get it now, so let's test my abilities.

After looking around the forest Ragna found a bunch of wolves, and rabbits. With the Intermediate sword skills (Bl*zblue skill tree), Ragna was able to easily kill them all. It was the first time he had killed a living thing, but for some reason it didn't really affect him.

After Leveling up Ragna felt his strength rising a little. Being a gaming addict, the sound of leveling up felt nice to Ragna's ear. 

"Ok I'll level up to 10, before trying to find a town."

A random otaku, brought to a different world, with one mission to become the most O.P of them all.

Follow Ren in his journey to become the most overpowered character of them all.

"What's wrong with it? There're true feelings and love everywhere in this world. It's fine as long as you love each other," Xiao Xiao turned the pages of the comic book with gleaming eyes and asked, "But the situation at the moment is that your dad doesn't like you. Don't you worry, you can't imagine how big the army behind you is."
"Army? What army?" Bai Wu asked puzzledly. 'Could it be that there are other followers of mine in this world?' He thought.
"Uhm… Forget about it. You just have to know that your master is amazing," Xiao Xiao waved her hand impatiently because Bai Wu was bombarding her with questions when she was at the climax of the comic.
"Hmm… What are you reading?" Bai Wu nodded his head after giving a thought. He was quite interested when he saw Xiao Xiao looking at colorful pictures.
"Oh, this? Comics. Do you want to see it? You can use it as a reference and put it to practice in the future," Xiao Xiao took one of the BL comic books[1] and passed it to Bai Wu.
Bai Wu immediately shut the book closed after turning to the first page. He glared Xiao Xiao with a flushed face and asked, "You… How can you look at these things?"
"What? You don't want it? Then return to me." Xiao Xiao did not anticipate Bai Wu's reaction and reached out to take it back.
Bai Wu hid the book behind his back with a reddened face and said softly with his head lowered, "I want!"
"If you have any queries, just search it online. They have very detailed explanations."
"Uhm," Bai Wu answered softly, where his ears were so red that as if it was gonna bleed.
"He he! Don't need to be so shy okay? If you're this shy, how will you make me feel, as a girl? Don't you think I need face too?" Xiao Xiao reacted as if she was going to snatch the comic book away. Bai Wu quickly protected it by hugging it between his arms.
"You said that it's for me!" Bai Wu said loudly with a reddened face.
"I can give you this, but you'll need to send a photo of you two after you succeed, deal?" Xiao Xiao used this opportunity to get welfare for the fellow comrades who contributed the ideas and suggestions.
"What photo?" Bai Wu asked.
"How about something like the one you saw on the first page just now?"
"No!" Bai Wu rejected sternly!
"Such a scrooge. What about just a photo of you guys holding hands, surely this can be done?" Xiao Xiao curled her lips and said miserably.
"What are you guys doing!" Xu Lan stood at the door and stared at both of them with a blackened face. He was standing there since Xiao Xiao reached out to snatch the thing behind Bai Wu's back. Bai Wu did not notice him even after such a long time!
Xu Lan was suppressing his anger, but he did not even know why he was angry.
"Papa!" Bai Wu tossed the comic book to Xiao Xiao as if it was a hot potato and ran towards Xu Lan's arms joyously, "Papa, you're back."
Xu Lan looked at Bai Wu coldly while he hugged him coquettishly. He remained silent with a long face, as he recalled that Bai Wu threw something towards Xiao Xiao just now.
"My father will be back at night, you don't have to cook dinner for me, Bai Wu," Xiao Xiao pretended to say pitifully, ignoring Xu Lan's surprised expression.
"Okay. Papa, let's go home. I cooked mung bean porridge today, cause Xiao Xiao mentioned that Papa's quite heaty, this can cool you down," Bai Wu said pamperingly while he reached out to hold Xu Lan's hand.
"Walk by yourself! You're a grown person!" Who knew that Xu Lan immediately flung his hand away and strutted his way upstairs.
"Why don't you go to the cafe anymore? You were hanging out with Xiao Xiao from downstairs throughout the day?" Xu Lan could not suppress his anger. He deliberately inquired about him from the surrounding neighbors that were managing the place when he came home.

Generations change, people forget - even the bigger things.

Thirty years after the Great Prohibition, also called the Great World Purge, everything had returned to a state similar to before the internet phenomenon on the nineties.

The net itself was largely restricted and the entertainment industry had also been mostly destroyed.

Any kind of virtual entertainment, even the simplest DOS game, was totally and completely banned worldwide.  

Freedom of speech was a very controversial topic which the new generations were fighting strongly for, while social media and internet chatting were but a dream. Even emailing services were imposed a two-hours delay between sending and receiving, while also prohibited from creating emailing groups. Faxes were weirdly popular on great corporations and cellphones were used almost exclusively for making calls. On the bright side, SPAM mailing had decreased quite a bit.

In a certain sense, it was almost as if people were returning to the late eighties in terms of technology, but without console gaming. It was no surprise for glam rock to be on an all-time high again.

Space exploration was a hot topic for all kinds of geeks, and comic books were a good source of entertainment for the youth.

Videogames were a banished notion, while RPG games could only be played with imagination, nothing else.

GPS services were considerably better than in the eighties, since the tech was there, only not the availability of it to the masses, but nothing was perfect.

Squeam satellites had been thoroughly brought down and many of its high-tech industries and corporations had either been incorporated by the government or outright destroyed.

Still, remnant tech could be found here and there. The governments around the world obviously still made very good use of the internet and cybernetics potentials, so it was needed for people to be educated to create and develop technology for it.

This obviously meant that, occasionally, people who had been educated and knew how to build and operate informatic networks, programs and services would turn to the black market in order to make a profit.

VR Drugs were the most common type of product sold, but other things could be found as well - things like programs to access the military network, web chatting, dark web forums and so on.

Just like how drugs were a big taboo back before the legalization trend became a worldwide thing, all types of informatic dealings so became taboo on the earth of that year.

Christina walked resolute steps towards home.

She, as a daughter of two former Squeam Soldiers, had to constantly prove herself - so, even though she had a natural gift for informatics, in the end she chose to graduate as a mathematics major and went to become a math teacher.

There were plenty of civil servants willing to make a scapegoat out of her and her entire family. Even on this country where she lived her whole life and which was built upon the former Squeam headquarters.

Her clothes were of good quality, but not superb. Her shoes had a healthy color to them, indicating that they weren't ones she has had to use for too long.

She lived a good lower-middle-class lifestyle.

Still, a calm fury roared inside her chest, while her outward appearance and actions were cowardly and submissive.

Her shoulders dropped, her head staring down. She was like a perpetually defeated captive, as innocent and sinless as she were.

The streets she walked through were busy ones near downtown. She couldn't afford to live on the suburbs, so a rented place in a not-so-good neighborhood where she could live with her husband and grandmother was enough.

As she strolled through the bars and pubs, different kinds of music could be heard, including some heavy-metal like ones. This kind of songs lifted her spirits and quenched her thirst a little bit.

Daring to look a little bit upwards, she finally arrived at an old, five-stories high, three apartments long building. The decoration on the front was old and moldy, whilst the rusted iron metal bars protecting the inner glass doors said a lot.

It was a good thing she managed to get home before noon.

Christina entered the two-bedrooms one-bathroom apartment and dispiritedly said.

- Finally! I'm starving! Go and make lunch already!

- Didn't you eat? I've left some noodles in the fridge. You just needed to heat them on the microwave!

Of course, house appliances were still quite developed, even if, without informatic and advanced electronics materials (many which had become military-use restricted), most of it had stagnated on time. For instance, no microprocessors on one's fridge or television meant they wouldn't be connected their cellphones.

- As if I would eat that shit! It smelled like your grandmas' piss!

- Sorry. I will make something for you to eat. What do you want?

Christina couldn't but drop her head lower and start talking a little faster, while hopping for her husbands' anger to settle.

"I'm lucky to have him" - Was what, amongst other excuses, she always said to herself. It wasn't easy to find someone to date with her identity, after all.

Of course, she could try to look for others who were also sons and daughters of "Squeam Soldiers" but, most of the times, it just wasn't worth it.

It wasn't like places like the "Squeam Memorial and Pride Foundation" would be good for meeting sane people, and going around asking about peoples' past was a bit too difficult in order to start a good relationship with someone. Online dating services didn't exist at all, as the internet was restricted, and blind dating and this kind of things made her want to hang herself. "Better alone than surrounded by Neo-Squeamers" was one of her mottos.

Not to mention it was a governmental policy to separate the many "Squeam Families" from each other in order to avoid "unnecessary associations". Hell knew where she would find someone which could relate to her problems.

Christina's hands began to shake as she heard her husbands' command. She felt grossed out.

- Common, don't be like that. I just came home. Don't you want to eat something? I can make some meatballs or something. There are ribs in the fridge!

At that time, an old and coarse voice came from the other bedroom on the house.

An old wheelchair's cracking noise could be heard, as Sasha approached the door and looked at Christina's husband with her big, round, veiny and menacing eyes.

Christina's husband took a pair of pants from the sofa and went towards the door. He would surely return later, smelling like cheap liquor and whore perfume.

Jack's daughter couldn't help but feel quite wronged by her grandmother. Douglas now would look for another woman to do the job because of her getting on the way. Maybe the real person wronging her was her husband, but she would never admit it.

- Did you eat already grandma?

- No. Your husband wouldn't let me.

The raging flame inside Christina's heart diminished and went to a certain place deeper inside of her. It seemed to have become colder, as she again looked at her grandmother with calm eyes.

- Okay. Come then, let's heat the food up. I will also make some meatballs. The ribs on the fridge need to be cooked this week at the most.

Sasha knew her granddaughter wouldn't listen to her. She couldn't help but by slowly steer her wheelchair all the way to the front door.

As soon as the locks' loud and typical noise could be heard, angry sobbing came from the kitchen, with the sounds of the cutlass becoming increasingly louder and louder.

 "Because he's so edgy," Peng said then laughed. "I don't even know what Zack found fascinating about that cold-hearted snow woman. She's got more ice than Sazuki."
Zack turned his head, blushing. 
 "Tone it down," Tyrone said, "because I'm not trying to be here all day."
Ming cleared her throat loudly.
 "Are you done?"
Her companions gulped and stared back at her. 
 "Good," Ming said. "Because if you don't find him, I'll just stop writing the Loli Saga and go look myself. And Tyrone, before you start, you read my other manga, Monster Girl Mania. I'll cancel the entire thing—you'll never know who kidnapped Haru."
Her companions said nothing, just looked nervous. "Good. We've been a team for a while now, killing it at Stone Tokken. There has always been talk about the return of the Forsaken Spellcaster deck and the Stone Tokken incarnate wielding it."
 "That's just a bunch of marketing myth bologna—I said that a year ago," Tyrone said, "until you showed me Real and Non-real games, and how to sense resonances. You also said you were one of these gifted—but those who knew how to access Real and Non-real games are the next best thing. At first, I thought you were some kind of witch. The others may not outright say it, but we're still a little scared of you." He chuckled.
Ming sighed.
 "Just do what I say and you'll be fine. And don't go around telling anyone I'm the author of those books. What would my true love think when that's the first thing he hears?"
She rose gracefully.
 "If you see my cousin Maki, tell her where Naomi lives. But go with her. I don't want her assaulting my friend. If we weren't cousins, she would've tried, not that I'm weak-willed like her previous victims."
 "Why is she doing this?" Peng said.
 "To be honest, I'd like to watch," Han said.
Ming fixed him with a glare.
 "I've only heard rumors and there's no evidence. I confronted her, but she wouldn't admit to anything. Maki's popular and is hated by a lot of jealous women. So, it's no surprise that a rumor like this would come about."
She turned to leave. "Get to work. I want his identity as soon as possible. On the double! Or I'll cancel it all. And you're free to duel him, but no real games. Just Non-real."
Her companions nodded then scurried off. Ming took note of Tyrone's muttering.
 "Cancel my favorite manga series. Damn, you're a slave driver. Can we ever get thanks?"
She laughed. On her way home, she read her favorite BL manga, flushed, and breathing deeply. 
Soon, she'd meet her future husband. 




Labido Grasslands… Hot springs inn.


Clyde let out an icy breath after he hung up. So Hades, at last, wanted his blood. Fine, he's been a pain in the ass for the entire city, far too long. For Clyde, it's been two weeks. For everyone else, the Hades family ruled and dined on human lives for years. The real question is, where the fuck are the other gifted and why didn't they do anything about this? What the fuck?
Well, Harumi did once mention something about demon lords moving into cleared territory. Why didn't mankind fight back—nuke them? Anime logic? Or demons in the government. Probably both. One did own one of the largest pizza chains in the world. Another was an accountant. Anything's possible.  
Still, there had to be experienced gifted around here somewhere or military men. He should've written down the information of that level sixty ex-special forces guy Melody mind controlled a couple of weeks ago. 
Fuck it, there is no excuse for this. Was it safe to try and call all gifted? Of course, it wasn't. He'd bet a million dollars that there were "enemy" or twisted gifted out there too, some probably working with the demons. Some working against everything and everyone. Mankind in a nutshell, whether on Earth or in Satovia.
Melody offered her protection and said she'd stop by to help with his training in the morning. Sweet. She also wanted to talk with him about something private, whatever that meant. 
Clyde left his room to check on the others. Chika, Yuki, and Neko were finishing up their meals. They seemed to be having a heated conversation before silencing it upon Clyde's approach.
 "Nya," Neko jumped him, licking his face. He held his ground with a back leg. Falling over meant wasting more time. "What brings you out here?"
 "Just seeing how everyone's doing?" Clyde said. "Where's Toru?" That question was directed at Chika. 
 "I think he went outside to explore a bit," she said. "The attendant lady told him about a spot to lay down and enjoy the 'true pleasures' of the grasslands. I warned the idiot not to go anywhere near the forest. Something about it creeps me out."

Clyde almost selected no just to slap something back at the system, but he needed to make sure the man was good to go. Sure, he wasn't his mother, but in an area where demons came and go to dip into a hot spring, one had to be cautious. He warned the others about demon guests. Yuki blushed.
 "Sorry," she said. "I…I mean, it felt normal to me."
 "Don't worry about it, just make sure the men don't get adducted," Clyde said.
 "We're coming with you," Chika said. 
 "In your robes?" Clyde said, eyebrow raised. He noticed they were all sitting on towels too. Ah, nothing like the common ground of sanitation, he thought.  
 "I'll go put on the sweatpants," Chika said then stuck her tongue out. Before she left, she gave Neko a warning stare. Neko only smiled innocently and smothered more of her body over Clyde. The young man tried to pretend that he didn't notice the wetness. The catgirl was ready to go and apparently anywhere. Clyde quickly deescalated the situation before it could turn into a bloodbath. 
 "Go get changed," he said to Neko.
 "Nya-no can do," she said. "I'm an observer."
 "If you don't, I'll," he whispered the rest in her ear. "I'll deny every advance and give them to Chika."
Neko huffed.
 "That's not how you're supposed to treat a lady."
She reached into his pants with her tail and squeezed Clyde. Before the young man could protest, she violently stroked. 
Yuki barged between the two.
 "Neko, stop being childish."
 "I can't help it, it's the heat," she said, innocent look on her face. Yuki continued to stand in Clyde's defense. She was close enough to where his erection pressed into her ass. He forced down the beast inside and stepped back. Now wasn't the time nor place. Yuki ended up hustling the catgirl to her room. 
Chika returned with a fully dressed Kitome, though the blue-haired girl looked annoyed from being hustled out of her room. Was she napping? Nothing wrong with that, Clyde supposed.  She blushed for some reason upon making eye contact with the young man. 
 "Are you up for this?" he said to Kitome. She flinched as if not expecting him to speak with her. 
 "Of course, I am, idiot," Kitome said, mustering up her anger. It wasn't as feisty as normal, but a nice sign to know that she didn't lose her damn mind. 
When Neko and Yuki returned, they set off to search for Toru. They found him minutes later…in the air. Two women, similar to the honeybee Clyde once encountered, carried him off, laughing and yipping. Of course they were heading toward the forest. Of course.  
 "Son-of-a-bitch," Clyde snapped as he and the others chased. He analyzed one.
