STUDY GOD'S WORD

As we continue to study the Book of Acts, we follow Paul into chapter 17 where he engaged with all kinds of people that he encounters in his travels. The first place that Paul often went to in different cities was the synagogue. Here in Thessalonica, he gives an account of the Messiah, the promised deliverer of the Jews. Paul refers to the Old Testament to create a 'dialegomai'(Greek) or dialogue from the Scriptures. He explains that the Jesus Christ had to suffer & rise again, as written 


in Isaiah 53:5 New International Version (NIV) says

5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
    and by his wounds we are healed.


& in Psalm 16:10-11 New International Version (NIV) says
10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
    nor will you let your faithful[a] one see decay.
11 You make known to me the path of life;
    you will fill me with joy in your presence,
    with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Obviously, Paul studied Scriptures & knew what it says about the promised Messiah. Paul related ancient prophesy from Scripture to the historical event of Jesus death on the cross & His resurrection. Paul proclaimed Jesus with boldness & trusted the Lord for the outcome. Indeed, Paul would preach in the synagogue & would get beaten up after, yet he would do the same thing in the next city they would go to. He was not discouraged even if he faced opposition. He knew what his calling was, to preach the good news first to the Jews & then to the Gentiles. His calling was sure & getting beaten up & opposed to his face did not stop him from continuing on his mission. When you have an impact, you will have an uproar. In the things you are doing for God, are you experiencing an "uproar"? Doing God's work  might mean facing hostility from the very people you are trying to reach out to.

APPLY GOD'S WORD 

We must also check our eagerness in approaching God's word. Do you find the Bible bland & boring? Are you excited to encounter God in His word?

Though the Bible does not promise a life without problems it is a deep source which God uses to guide you in making wise decisions as you face life's difficulties & challenges. Apply what you learn from the Bible in your life even before you attempt to share it with others!

TEACH GOD'S WORD  

The next group of people that Paul engages within Acts 17, were the Bereans who were more open to Paul's teaching compared to the Thessalonians. In matters of discernment, we must be like the Jews in Berea who not only studied the Scriptures but also used this to examine what was being preached to them. In listening to preachers, we must have an unbiased eye & be opened to the truth that a preacher teaches but always go back to Scripture & check for ourselves what we heard from the preacher against what the Bible says. Is this how we view the speakers we encounter? With an unbiased eye but a discerning spirit? We need to be careful because there are many false teachers & many more will arise. Like Paul, are you willing to take a beating for something you believe in? It is so hard to teach what you do not believe in, so make sure that you know why you believe what you believe & teach. One of the greatest hindrances to God using you to teach others about the Bible is your unwillingness to apply God's word. Have a self-check, is your Bible knowledge making you arrogant? Beware that it does not, as

All his women were grounded by their clans and they could no longer provide him with any assistance. Under these circumstances, he was saved by Wei Yunrou.
Wei Yunrou was a disciple of the Medicine King Valley. Her looks were not bad but she was very tall. When she wore male clothing, she would often be mistaken for a man.
When Mu Changfeng and Wei Yunrou first met, Wei Yunrou was wearing male clothes. Mu Changfeng thought that Wei Yunrou was a man so he didn't shy away when doing a lot of things.
However, Wei Yunrou was a woman. After interacting with Mu Changfeng, she started to fall in love with him.
Mu Changfeng found out that she was a woman not long after, but he didn't like girls like Wei Yunrou. Hence, he left the Medicine King Valley quietly after realizing that Wei Yunrou had feelings for him.
Wei Yunrou didn't give up and chased Mu Changfeng profusely.
Mu Changfeng had no feelings toward Wei Yunrou. Every time Mu Changfeng was with another woman, Wei Yunrou would suddenly appear.
Toward the end, she got worse. She even asked the people from the martial arts world to surround him and then appeared and saved him.
Wei Yunrou was Mu Changfeng's savior. He couldn't do anything to her. He could only hide.
Such things continued for a long time. Mu Changfeng was being chased but he didn't forget to flirt with women.
Until…
Mu Changfeng met a lady.
The lady had a normal background. She was the daughter of the merchant Jia family.
After Mu Changfeng met her, he stopped contacting his other women and only wanted to be with this lady.
Wei Yunrou realized that there was something different about Mu Changfeng. She was jealous of the lady.
Her love for Mu Changfeng had become distorted. She told herself that if he didn't like her, he couldn't like anyone else either.
Hence, Wei Yunrou found assassins to annihilate the Jia family. The lady managed to escape, but when Mu Changfeng found her, she was mentally unstable.
However, Wei Yunrou didn't plan to let the lady go. She took the chance when Mu Changfeng was not around and tortured the lady furiously.
When Mu Changfeng came back, all he saw was the cold body of the lady.
Not only that, Wei Yunrou suddenly caught all the women that Mu Changfeng was close to and forced him to save all of them.
No one knew what happened after Mu Changfeng saw Wei Yunrou. When they arrived, all they saw was him killing Wei Yunrou.
After that, Mu Changfeng started killing innocent civilians and everyone became scared. They gathered together and surrounded Mu Changfeng. Finally, they managed to injure him seriously, but he was saved by someone at the last moment.
From that moment, Mu Changfeng never appeared again.
The Five Treasures Immortal Clan and the Five Treasures Bible disappeared too.
Wei Yunrou was a member of the Medicine King Valley. Medicine King Valley was a righteous clan. The leader of the Medicine King Valley pleaded with everyone and asked them to keep quiet about this.
Wei Yunrou was already dead. For the sake of the dignity of the righteous clan, most people agreed to the proposal.
They pushed all the blame onto Mu Changfeng.
He was the one that killed all the civilians and they had to kill him in order to maintain order in the martial arts world.
"Although we didn't tell the truth, Mister Mu really killed a lot of people." The monk chanted Amitabha and sighed.
Ming Shu smiled. "What you said is not right. If that is the truth, why would Villa Head Nie be afraid of me? Why does Shen Ming want to shut people up?"
The monk was very blatant. "I speak the truth."
"Hmph." Wei Yunrou suddenly sneered and looked at the person beside the monk. She said with a hint of hatred, "Leader Zhao, they might not know what you did, but I am very certain of it."
The person called Leader Zhao shouted, "Shut up, you demon!"
He looked around and emphasized, "Everyone saw what happened that day. Mu Changfeng suddenly went crazy. Don't be fooled by this demon."
"She hasn't even finished her sentence, why are you so anxious?" Ming Shu said softly, "Someone innocent would stay silent. Since you said something, you must be guilty."
"Me? Guilty? What is there to be guilty about!" Leader Zhao raised his voice. "Your father was killed by this demon. If you want to get revenge, kill her."
"Who told you that I want revenge?" Ming Shu smiled at him sarcastically.
Why would I want to get revenge? My mission is to listen to stories and then find out the secret of what happened 20 years ago. There is no Hatred Points to gain from getting revenge. Such a waste of energy. No revenge, no revenge, no revenge.
Everyone: "…"

They couldn't move at all so no matter how angry Leader Zhao was, he could only glare at them.
Wei Yunrou laughed strangely. "I was the one that kidnapped all the women last time. However, do you all think that I can kidnap so many people all by myself?"
Everyone's expressions grew complicated. People who were not guilty were puzzled and started guessing boldly. Those that were guilty either shouted at Wei Yunrou to shut up or tried to mask their presence.
Wei Yunrou was already crazy. She wanted to take revenge on everyone. "It was all thanks to the help of some leaders. Without you all, I would not be able to capture so many women and lure Mu Changfeng out."
"You all must be thinking, Why would they do this? Hahahaha… they wanted the Five Treasures Bible and I wanted Mu Changfeng. Hence, we decided to collaborate."
"Shut up, you demon!"
"Shut up? Why must I shut up! You all caused Mu Changfeng to die. You changed my poison!"
Wei Yunrou didn't want Mu Changfeng's to die. She just wanted to plant some love venom in him and make him fall in love with her.
However, she didn't expect them to change her poison. They wanted to kill Mu Changfeng and snatch the Five Treasures Bible.
The scene of Mu Changfeng killing her happened because she was attacked by Mu Changfeng. Someone saw it and didn't dare to come near. Hence, it looked as though he killed her.
Luckily, she had a fake-death venomous insect on her and it saved her life.
Ming Shu asked, "Normal people would not be able to control the venomous insect. How can they change your venomous insect?"
Wei Yunrou laughed weirdly. "Because the Medicine King Valley also took part in it? If not, why are they afraid of making this issue known to everyone? Do you think that they did it because of me? No way. They are afraid that if it leaks out, someone will find it strange and will investigate the matter."
"You all really know how to play!"
Ming Shu's weird comment made everyone puzzled.
There was no anger or hatred in her tone. There was only a hint of a smile, as though she was just making a passing remark.

(You don't have to read this chapter. Believe me, it's about 60% unnecessary, not really concerned with the important things in this story. It's just Nathan Pov. You can skip to the next chapter if you wish) 

Nathan Pov 

I watched as Aurora stood up with her friends; Victoria and a guy I don't even know. You can't expect me to possibly know all their name. I looked down at my food then sighed. Unlike my friends, I wasn't a foodie or one who eats much. I stood up too, ready to go for class which was Bible knowledge class. 

Bible knowledge class is not a class I really enjoy or despise either. To me, it's just a mysterious story class which gets confusing and interesting sometimes. I climbed up the stairs three time's. I don't even know why the class is so far. Guess I'm already used to it anyway. 

I walked down the hallway as I viewed Mia walk to Aurora. I quicken my steps as I moved closer to them. Mia was a little reserve; the quiet type who don't like talking much. Some people feels she's not so intelligent to contribute anything when talking but I feel, actually I know, she's more of the observer not the talkative. I was just two step behind them so I could hear what they were saying. 

"Hi." Mia greeted. 

"Hey." Aurora responded, giving a little smile that Mia returned. 

"First day in Bible knowledge class?" 

"Yeah." 

Nothing was heard again. Like I said, Mia is not the talkative type and I'm guessing the same for Aurora. And yes, Mia is the owner's daughter; Mr. Scott only child. 

We all walked to the class and I took a seat before them. Aurora and Mia took a seat beside me. The 'crazy Miss Emily; the Bible class teacher', like student used to call her was ready to start her teaching most people referred to as 'madness.' Unfortunately, Bible class was one of the necessary subject and once it's picked, it can't be dropped or ditched. I looked around and noticed some students were eager to hear her teaching while some were bored. Lizzy and Mira, as usual had a blank expression. Alex was always happy, Ethan looked bored and Aurora? I wasn't sure of her expression. 

Miss Emily showed us one of her regular smile trying to say, 'teaching is about to begin.' 

"Today, we will be looking at the history of Lucifer or should I say, history of satan the devil." She paused then smiled again. 

"We know about the triune or the Trinity. God the Father, God the son and God the holy Spirit. They're all in one because of their agreement and we are also aware that they're the Creators of the world. They created the angels including lucifer and all things. But first, we might as well look at Ezekiel 28: 12-17 in the Bible." 

"You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and......" 

A girl read. 

"Thanks Gabriella. Lucifer means light bearer. He was in fact the chief among all angels. He was one of the three archangels, the other two being Gabriel and Michael. He was the head of all archangels and commander of all other angels. But what happened next?" Miss Emily asked. 

"He started a rebellion." Ethan spoke up. 

"Actually the original rebellion was initiated by two Angels with great power who were the closest to Lucifer. Leviathan and Belial told Lucifer that he should be God. They told him he was as perfect as God and instead of taking orders from God, he should be running things in the universe......" 

I closed my eyes then sighed. I felt like having a good rest that means sleeping but the sleep never comes; no matter how hard I try. I keep having this annoying feeling that tells me I am unsafe and I need help. I know it feels weird but that's just the feeling I keep getting. 

It took me a few minutes to realize that miss Emily was still teaching. 

"Nothing, it's just interesting to note that God did not interfere in their rebellious plot. He allowed them." Mira said. 

Miss Emily just returned the smile. 

"From there, we all knew what happened. Angel Michael and other angels fought against Lucifer and his angels. Satan was defeated....." 

I stole a quick glance at Aurora. I don't know how I know but I just know that she's different. Yeah, everyone is different but her different is different. I don't know the right word to use but she's actually kind of strange. I looked at her face that was so engrossed and concentrated on what miss Emily was saying. Then again, I realized she was still teaching. 

"You just said, sexual intercourse between fallen angels and women brought about gigantism but in biology, over secretion of the pituitary gland and thyroid gland causes gigantism and otherwise, retarded growth." A blonde haired girl spoke up. 

"Angel there is something called mutation and I know you're familiar with that word. It must have caused a change in human body system. Well that's not even a problem compared to this." Miss Emily paused. "Satan has observed humankind for centuries; he knows how to attack us easily?" She questioned, reading from a paper. 

"I'd say he got Eve easily." The blonde haired, Angel said. 

Miss Emily just smiled. 

"He knows God much better than any Christan in this world could ever know him for he lived with God thousands of years?" 

"Well I'd say, God is in me." Aurora responded. 

Miss Emily smiled again. 

"Satan and his allies knows the Bible very well?" 

"And I'd say, the Bible is just like a story. The Bible ain't even complete. The most important thing is to have the holy Spirit." I replied. 

"Good." Miss Emily said briefly. "Well then I still have questions that might get you people pondering, wondering and thinking." 

"We will love to hear them." Rita said. 

"Sure Rita, the Bible said Satan was casted to earth. So is earth really the habitat of the devil?" 

Silence! 

"Hell was created before Satan was casted down. Why was there a place called hell?" 

Silence! 

"They overcame him by the blood....." 

The question session continued. 

I wasn't really surprised by miss Emily question; for I knew her too well. But the fact that you don't have an answer to any of the questions was the most annoying and disturbing. I looked at everyone face and all o could see was confusion, shock and 'what the?'. 

"Well listen to this everyone. What is your question? What is your religion? Who is your God? I don't have an answer to these, remember you're the answer. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get understanding. Have a good day." Miss Emily said and walked out. 

I stood up to live with Alex and Ethan. As we walked down the hallway, we noticed Aurora walking alone, so we joined her. 

"Hey." Ethan spoke up. 

"Hi, who was that?" She asked, referring to the teacher. 

"Oh, miss Emily." Alex replied. 

"Oh, okay." She replied, releasing a long breath. 

"What? You're....?" Ethan asked. 

"Nothing, love her teaching." 

"Okay then." 

"Found any of element of truth in what she was saying?" Ethan asked again. 

"The fact that God is moving, Satan is moving but man is not." She stated. 

"Wow......" I said, a fact that what she said is right. 

We continued walking and talking till we parted ways.

The six remaining contestants, Damon, Luna, Aria, Bryan, Bible, and KJ entered the Forrest guided by three soldiers in black suits from the Immortal Horses.
They were given food, water, flashlights, a compass, three lamps, and were then left alone to their own devices.

After fifteen minutes of walking aimlessly through the deep damp forest, the sky slowly turned dark.
Ding! 
Everyone in the group was messaged simultaneously.
Message: [The monster is 500 meters North West]
Everyone followed North West on the compass until they reached a slightly open area. 
Ding!
Message: [The Monster is 50 meters nearbye]
"This is such a scam. They are obviously tracking us with a drone or whatever," said Aria as she looked up at the sky. 
"We should at least settle down for now and camp out here," suggested KJ as he placed his lamp next to a tree.
The five other Witches followed along placing their two lamps on trees and splitting up into groups of three. 
Damon and Bryan.

"Damon, I have a question?" asked Bryan.
"What is it?" Damon laid out in the forest, his back against a dark oak tree.
"How did you kill that Ice Witch, Demitri, and what type of Witch are you?"
Damon looked off into the darkness. The small lamps of Aria, Luna, KJ, and Bible in the distance. He looked at his lamp, the buzzing gnats swarming around it.
"I'm a Gravity Witch."
Bryan looked at Damon. He felt like something was off in that response
"And what about your friends? Luna, Aria, what's their deal? Back at the HQ, Aria was always eyeing me up, watching me."
"She's... A character. Serious, murderous, slightly evil... Actually, she's pretty evil... But she's also determined."
"Do you care for her?" asked Bryan, his back up against another tree opposite Damon with the lamp in between them.
"No... I..."
Damon looked at his own palms, the last seven-hundred years in his hands. His lovers. His friends. His partners... In crime.
"I care for her. But I don't want to."
Bryan felt a sudden change in Damon's demeanor like his inner mind was slowly morphing into something else, something mailable. So he kept going.
"Funny, you always gave me that uncaring feeling, like you were always bored? So do you..." He jokingly pretended to blush, "do you care for me too?"
"Only if you're not boring."
"Then wanna hear a joke?"
"Sure."

Luna and Aria sat together. They watched the small lamp fizzle in and out as the dark night passed by.
"How long are we gonna be out here?" asked Luna as she laid back in the tall bushy grass.
Aria held out a Berretta m9, she tossed it around, waving it back and forth, cleaning its barrel and trigger.
"Didn't you get the text? We finish once we kill the monster."
"But didn't you say that this was all a lie or whatever? That Miss Eiko's just doing whatever she wants. Didn't she say that herself yesterday?"
Aria loaded her gun.

Pop!
"Luna, these Immortals can't be trusted. Take everything they say with a grain of salt. You trust an Immortal... We'll you..." She glanced at Damon across the way, "sometimes you can't even trust even the one closest to you. But at the same time, you have to take risks. And this risk paid off. He saved my life."
Luna looked at Damon at the same time Aria did.
"Are you talking about Damon? He saved your life?"
"Yeah... He saved me... He's trustworthy. But he's also lazy and gets sidetracked a lot. I think So I think I'm also doing him a favor as well. When I first met him he was depressed and a loser, now... Well, he's mostly the same, but at least he's along for the ride."

Someone rustled in the bushes nearby. Aria and Luna immediately turned to it.
"Luna get back!" Aria commanded as she pointed her gun at the bush.
"Wait it could be a bunny!" screamed out Luna as Aria slowly put her finger on the trigger.

A man jumped out from the bush.
"Don't shoot! I'm... I just wanted to listen..."
It was Bible.
"Your...?"
He stood up from the bush, his black military jumpsuit. His long assault rifle strapped around his back. He held his hands up.
"I just wanted to listen to yall and protect yall."
"Protect us?" asked Aria still pointing her gun at him.
He sat forward, his legs crossed and staring right at the two beautiful women in front of him.
"I didn't want to be partnered with that old guy, KJ. He creeped me out. So I came over here, but you two were talking about something personal so I decided to not interfere."
"So you're a stalker?" asked Luna.
"No-no-no. I'm no stalker. I'm just feeling a bit lonely. So can I sit with yall?"
Luna turned to Aria. Aria turned to Luna. They stared at each other. They stared at Bible.
"Sure, but you have to tell us a good story."

Ten minutes later.
"So did you like the joke?" asked Bryan to Damon.
"No, it was shitty."
"Come on it wasn't that bad."
"It took you ten minutes to explain it."
"Fine, it was a little bit-"
"AHHHHHHHHHH!"
Across the forest, a loud scream erupted. Everyone jumped up. Damon, Bryan, Aria, Luna, Bible, they all turned to KJ's lantern in the distance.
They looked at his shadow. His light. Where he sat.
He was missing.
Aria pulled out her Beretta m9. She pointed out into the forest.
"Luna the flashlight!" she commanded.
Luna pulled out the flashlight.

She shined it out into the forest.
The tree lines, the grass riding up the moss, the bushes and leaves, floating across the dark empty space, all lit up by a single beam, all toward one point, the eyes.
A dark red, deep cursing, a murderous intent.
Bang! 
Bang! 
Bang!
Aria fired off three shots into the darkness.
Rustle... 
Rustle...
The monster disappeared.
"What was that?" asked Bible.
Damon and Bryan walked up to the group of three.
"What did you guys see?" asked Bryan as he looked out into the dark abyss where the monster escaped into.
"It was..." Luna turned to Damon, "a monster!"
Aria sighed, "yeah no shit Luna. We were all told about this beforehand. It was KJ's stupid fault for having us wait around. We should have just went for it and killed it."
"Then what about KJ? Did he get eaten?" questioned Byran as he picked up the half smashed lantern.
Bible looked out into the forest, on the tree KJ was sitting next to. He touched the bark, the leaves.
Blood.
"KJ... Is dead."
"Ahhh!" screamed Luna overexaggerating as she grabbed Damon's arm.
"Oh my!" pretended Byran.
"I'm not shocked," said Aria without any concern.
Damon wiggled his way out of Luna's grasp, "he died pretty quick, and we didn't learn anything about him. I feel like something is up-"
Bible interrupted, "so what's our next step?!"
He looked out into the forest pointing to the direction where the monster ran.
"We should follow it and kill it before it escapes. But instead of going in a group, we should go in pairs. I'll nominate myself, while you four pull from straws or something."
"That sounds like a smart idea," nodded Luna.
Aria looked at Bible with a confused suspicion, "no, it doesn't that's a stupid idea. But..."
She turned to Damon.
"I nominate Damon to go out there with you."

Chapter Three
The next morning Ember was woken by Birdie's overall gleeful tone of voice telling her it was time to get dressed and Erebus purring in her ear. Ember barely had any sleep and she felt extremely exhausted, thankfully Birdie never said anything about it.
The redhead opened her suitcase for the first time, finding a couple of blouses and skirts and sweaters. A few dollars were tucked away in a pocket, hair ties and a brush with other essential things. Not worrying about the things too much, Ember got herself dressed with her friend facing the wall.
Once the girl was ready the left for breakfast, leaving the feline to sleep on Ember's bed.
"Are you going to school today?" Birdie asked her Ember as they walked.
"School?" The redhead frowned.
"You don't know what school is?" Ember shook her head, "Oh, well it's where you go to learn about things with others your age."
Ember furrowed her eyebrows, why would they need to go to school? Don't they already know everything they need? What else is there to learn?
"I'm sure Mrs Cole will have you admitted to our school. Then we can go together." The brunette jumped up and down, clapping her hands in excitement.
Ember grinned, "Yeah, I would like that."
They ate their toast with jam at their table and Birdie spoke all about what she had learned and what she was currently learning in school. Although Ember found it intriguing it seemed her knowledge was much higher than that of a seven-year-old.
Mrs Lewis entered the room, ringing the bell in her hand, "Get your things, get your lunch and head on out to school, come on now?" The woman told the orphans in her stern voice.
Birdie stood from her seat with a half-hearted smile, "I guess I'll see you later."
Ember nodded and watched her slowly walk away. She was not acting how she usually did from the small amount of time she had been with her and wondered if it was because of the place she calls school.
"Hello, Dear." Someone broke her from her thoughts.
Turning her seat she saw Mrs Cole standing there with a warm smile, her hands clasped in front of her. Ember quite liked Mrs Cole, she was a sweet older lady and very welcoming.
"Hello." Ember waved.
The woman held out her hand, "Would you please come with me?" And Ember took without a second thought. Mrs Cole took the young girl to her office and had her sit on the chair while she grabbed the paper from her desk, "Dear, these papers are for your school admittance." The woman spoke.
Ember nodded, "Yes, Birdie told me about her school."
"Of course. We just need to fill out a few things, okay." She handed Ember one of the papers.

Ember eyed Mrs Cole's name next to 'guardians' and the address that she now lived at, it made the redhead smile slightly.

"Now, we just need to think of a name. Any ideas?" The older woman asked.
Ember thought for a moment, "Birdie named me Ember," She told her, "What about...Emmy?"
"Emmy? Hmm. How about we name you Emily and we'll write down Emmy as your preferred name." Mrs Cole wrote it down and Ember peered down to see.

Neither of them said anything more. 
For the rest of the day, Ember stayed her room with a book she had found in one of the drawers while Erebus was sleeping peacefully next to her. It was a thick book with the words 'Holy Bible' written on the front and she found the stories to be quite interesting. Ember was sure the stories were made up and just fantasy as they spoke of talking animals, men with great power and a god residing somewhere in the clouds, it couldn't be real, but she read on anyway.
Some of the pages were a little repetitive at times and spoke a lot of what not to do in the presence of God, which was always, and as Ember read over one line she frowned: "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind; It is an abomination."
Abomination? A man lying with another man is a sin?  The redhead thought. Would it be the same for two women? Is Birdie a sinner as the bible suggests?  She quickly shook her head, trying to rid her mind of those thoughts. No. Birdie is too sweet, too innocent. It must not be the same, women must be able to lie with women.
Pushing the train of thought to the back of her mind, Ember continued to read, flipping through a few pages to find another story. Adam and Eve.
"Ember!" A voice squealed at the door, waking the feline from his nap.
The redhead peered over the book and found Birdie grinning back at her. Ember smiled, having only a second to set the bible down before she was tackled in a hug.
"I missed you." It was muffled but Ember heard it perfectly well. She found it amazing how trusting and content the brunette was towards her, but they were seven after all so she didn't question it.
"I missed you as well. What did you learn today?" The redhead held her at arm's length.
Birdie's eyes sparkled, "I learned how to add and subtract and I read a book and I painted a picture. Look!" She held up a piece of paper with two poorly painted multi-coloured figures in the middle and a black blob at their feet with a tail. "That's me and you, and that's Erebus." The girl pointed out.
Ember giggled at her excitement, she was very proud of herself and her picture, "I love it, Birdie." She told her truthfully, "We should hang it on the wall." And this only made the brunette more excited as she jumped around the room, trying to figure out where it would go.
Birdie ran off without a word, leaving Ember and Erebus to give each other a confused stare. Only a minute later the brunette popped back in with a long piece of sellotape and a pair of scissors which she handed to her friend.
"Can you use these? I'm not allowed to."
Ember nodded and began to stick the painting to the wall, between their beds.
"And then we can paint more, or draw, and we can have a collection." Birdie clapped, her grin never leaving.
"Yeah, the room already looks ten times better."

She was lost and needed to be found. Her past was unknown as was everything else about her. She was a mystery and only a few were really there to understand who she was, even if that meant she didn't know herself.
