Austin woke up early and went to eat. Phillip already spread the word to the rest of the group that Austin was taking the promotion exam. Jacob, Phillip, Hugo who passed yesterday, all dropped by to advice him about the test.

Austin thanked them and went his separate way. He walked towards the gym and found it closed. Since he was early he went to the nearest training field and released eevee. He told her to eat up and pulled out a bottle of milk for togepi. 

Sometime later the he saw the gym doors open. He went inside to meet the gym leader to take his exam. Austin walked in and saw the gym leader.

"Morning," he said. "You're up early. I don't usually see anyone in the Gym until after breakfast.

"I was too excited since I'm ready for my D-class examination."Austin replied honestly.

"Wow your group are all talents as it usually takes several weeks for the Chosen from the previous years. I'm really impressed that you are ready to take the exam. The only other person to take it in the morning was Jacob." Muliere ranted.

"So are you gonna text me. I wanna get it over with." Austin said quickly afraid Muliere will keep talking.

The gym leader sighed and looked at the watch on his wrist. "I was about to head out to get some breakfast but I guess I can test you first. This exam doesn't take long anyway." Then he led the way into the gym field.

Austin followed him and got his first look at the inside the Gym. To Austin it was designed similar to the gyms in the games. It was just more real now, looked similar to a gymnasium in high school. The entrance opened to a large room. In center of the room was a large battlefield. On each side of the battlefield was four smaller training grounds. Each training ground had two practice dummies. Along the walls were racks filled with different items meant to be used for training.

They stepped onto one of the training grounds and Muliere pulled out a Great Ball from his pocket. "Bruiser," he called out. The pokeball opened and released a large gray Pokemon. The Pokemon had four arms and rippling muscles all over its body. He stood at attention in front of Muliere. "This is Bruiser, my Machamp."

After seeing machamp, Austin instead of feeling terrified from a strong creature, felt the desire to do battle. His gaze didn't escape the gym leader's eyes because all the other Chosen were terrified. Yet this little guy looked excited. 

"Don't misunderstand, your not going to battle machamp for the exam." Muliere turned to Bruiser and pointed at Austin. "This trainer is here to take the D-rank exam," he told the Pokemon.

"Machamp," was all Bruiser said. He walked over to the side of the training ground. When he reached the edge, he turned and stood with his arms crossed, staring at both Austin and Muliere.

"Right," Muliere said. "Time to begin. Call out your Pokemon."

Austin takes out his pokeball and releases eevee. Eevee emerged with a brave growl ,"Eevee!"

"That a shiny eevee impressive. Now we will officially start your exam. The first part of the exam is very simple. Just have eevee attack one of the practice dummies. Go through all the attacks he currently knows." Muliere said.

Austin was too lazy to order eevee to attack every single attack it knew so he told it," Eevee use combination number 10." This remark surprised Muliere. Then he saw eevee suddenly speed up, agility he figured. As it approached the dummy it became even faster  and striked the dummy from the side. The experienced gym leader immediately knew it was quick attack. 

Eevee wasn't done yet one the attack landed it directly used double team and fired a single hidden power energy ball. One was real 5 other were fake. Once the energy ball landed eevee had used agility again and appeared right above the dummy where it used take down. The dummy was completely destroyed and this shocked the leader. Yet eevee did something that made Austin laugh it flicked the dummies head with a tail whip and returned to Austin's side. 

"Wow your eevee is pretty hard core. Your Pokemon is definitely a level above the rest of your peers. It even has quite the personality." The gym leader said.

Austin replied with a smirk," Thanks we get along well."

'This kid doesn't talk much This was the 5th sentence he said today but he is definitely a talent. He might actually become an s-class.' Muliere thought surprised.

The gym leader continued with the exam. Let's move on to the next part of the exam," he said. He moved over to the racks on the wall and came back with a box in his hands. He opened the box. Inside the box there was about a dozen little rubber balls. Austin could see that all the balls were either colored yellow, blue or red. He tipped the box over and scattered the balls all over the floor. He then placed the box in the center of the training ground.

"Right then," he said. "For this next part you will have to have eevee collect all the balls and put them back into the box. He has to put the balls away in a specific order of colors. Start with a blue ball, then a yellow ball and finally a red ball. Keep repeating the order until all the balls are in the box. You then have to close the box and hold it in your hands. Understand?"

Austin just nodded and instead of ordering eevee he just looked at it. Eevee nodded and went on to put the balls into the box in the order the gym leader said. It even closed the box and gave the gym leader a cocky smirk. It strangely looked very similar to Austin's smirk from earlier. Austin couldn't help but laugh at eevee's antics.

The gym leader without saying a word acted angry and threw a fist towards Austin. Eevee didn't move and just stared at the gym leader. Austin didn't say much and just looked at the gym leader.

Muliere whose fist approached Austin stopped inches away from his face. He stared dumbly at Austin and asked, "why didn't you avoid? Why didn't your Pokemon strike?" 

Austin and eevee looked at each other then Austin respond to Muliere with one word while pointing at eevee. "Anticipate."

This response annoyed yet shocked the gym leader. He was annoyed that this brat could not answer properly. He was shocked that eevee possessed such an ability. No wonder nether reacted, eevee knew there wasn't any danger and the brat trusted it.

"Congratulations kid you passed." This time Austin was shocked wasn't it 3 parts. They only did two of them.

As I have another book and I don’t wanted to get into too much character development.
Story will move moderately with occasional timeskips.
This story will have light romance but barely. It will focus on Mc. So there will barely be interactions.
The story is about a journey of an Mc who is the leader of a Pokemon fan club with the title of professor( I like Pokemon but not to that level) who died and luckily was reincarnated in Pokemon. Only to find out it’s not as innocent and friendly as he thought.
Prologue will be the same as chapter one from chaotic world except the ending. I thank revenantzero for a fantastic fanfic.

It was another rare slime. Missionary Slime only had a skill, but the skill was pretty good, and was not worse off than Angel Slime, which had two abilities.
However, Chen Bing looked at the slime which was only of silver quality, bit his teeth, and rewinded time again!
Silver and Gold only had a level of difference, but this difference is what made it rare and the highest grade. Chen Bing's bottom line was that the slime had to be of quality Gold!

Out of all the slimes which had different occupations, Warrior Slime was not the best, but as Chen Bing scanned through Warrior Slime's attributes, his eyes widened.
Platinum quality! This Warrior Slime turned out to be of Platinum quality!
It's only one step away from Legendary!
His luck was unbelievable. It could not be guaranteed that a Legendary slime could be hatched within an hour even if he wanted it to.
Comparing its attributes, the Platinum quality slime was even stronger than Level 1 players, and its two skills were quite useful. Chen Bing did not have a reason to change it.
Infinite Energy still lasted 49 seconds, and Chen Bing still had a "Magic Box of Fate."
There were many things that could come out of the Magical Box of Fate. Homeland construction materials, special accessories, special equipment, rare abilities and much more. If one was really lucky, it may even change your life, making you the richest person overnight.

As he crashed the game servers for the fifth time, he realized that he is equipped with an overpowered skill!

Finally, after all his painstaking efforts, Baiyi could see his desired results. Apparently, Mia liked the 'casual and childish' kind of teaching a lot so even after a full day of lesson, she did not show signs of being confused or lost at all. Well, it was obvious that the method had succeeded.
"I feel like Mr. Hope is so nice today." After the lesson was over, Mia let out a tired but satisfied smile and expressed her gratitude to Baiyi, "Thank you so much, Mr. Hope. I'm so happy..."
"Well, if you like it that much, we'll use this kind of method more in the future, alright?" Baiyi replied while stroking her little head.

It was still okay being separated when she was in the safe and secure academy but what about after she graduated? In order to free the Voidwalkers from the Void, Baiyi would certainly need to go to many places, including some of the most dangerous areas in the realm. By then, the current arrangement would definitely pose a problem to them.
After realizing that, Baiyi now had more problems in his hands. Wanting Mia to be nurtured under a relaxed and happy environment but being independent the same time? Well, that would certainly not be an easy task for the both of them.
Just as he began to think about that problem, the Shadow who usually kept her silence suddenly interjected, "Why do you all always want others to follow the path that you have arranged? It should be for Mia to decide for herself which path she plans to take, right? Do you think that she will really like the life that you arranged for her? Sir Hope? Have you forgotten my past life?"
Urghhh... What she said kind of makes sense as well... Baiyi had to agree with her. Especially after the Shadow had reminded him, he roughly recalled her past life and he had to admit that she was totally right.

When Mia was in the process of cracking the barrier, they were also observing the whole process using their own Psychic Energy from the side. When they saw the way Mia handled the enchantment, a few surprised looks could be seen appearing on their faces.
Actually, the whole process was not carried out skillfully so it was obvious that she had never came across those enchantment before. However, her movement was exceptionally precise and stable so they could not help but wondered, Could it be that this little cute girl in front of them really possess a very extraordinary innate aptitude? If this was true, there's nothing wrong with enrolling her directly into the Golden Rose class, right?
Just as the three of them were having the same thoughts, the barrier was finally cracked open. The moment Mia sensed the complete disappearance of the barrier, her long and thin eyelashes quivered slightly before she opened her eyes. With the last ounce of nervousness in her heart dissipating, she took a deep breathe and decisively opened the wooden box, revealing something that was lying quietly inside--- it was a book that had already began to turn yellow.

"It's done!" Immediately, a relieved expression appeared on Mia's face that had turned red with excitement. Careful not to touch the content of the box, she handed the box respectfully over to the three presidents in front before glancing backward and gave Baiyi a proud smile.
Baiyi instantly gave her a thumbs up and affirmed her impressive performance.
"W-Wow! She actually did it! Hurry! Let me see!" President Rhansey found it difficult to hide the excitement in his heart. He quickly took the box from Mia and took out the book inside before pushing the box away and flipped the book open on the spot.
"As I thought! It is indeed the log of the Sage Vagabond!" The President announced to all of the people who were present in the room, "This log records his process of discovery of the Ancient Rohserlian Mausoleum and the methods to crack the protective enchantment as well! This will definitely help us a lot in the future! There may even be an opportunity for us to breakthrough our current power level!"
One could easily tell that the President was indeed very ecstatic!

 "What do you want?"
 "Two buns, a bowl of porridge and a cold dish... Oh, no. Three buns, please."
 The fat soldier looked up in surprise.
 Wow! Another potbelly. Who is he?
 He was shocked to realize that it was Qin Guan. It was actually him in the flesh!
 Some officials had said that Qin Guan would come to their camp to shoot a film, but no one had actually seen him.
 "What's the problem? They are right here!"
 Qin Guan pointed to the steaming basket behind him. The fat soldier came back to his senses immediately.
 The guys who distributed food in the dining hall were martial artists, so they could use the same ladle to distribute food in different quantities.
 Whoever they liked would get three pieces of pork. Whoever they disliked would only get a side dish.
 Qin Guan, who was experienced at this, got his buns fast. The three white fat guys filled his lunch box. The porridge on the tray was sticky and crystal clear, and the cold dish seemed nice and tasty. Qin Guan got hungry just by smelling it.
 Suddenly, Duan Yihong showed up again with an evil smile and bent over to look at Qin Guan's lunch box. He immediately noticed the discrimination.
 The buns in Duan's hands were smaller, and his porridge was as thin as water. He frowned as he cast a look at the soldier. Are you kidding me?
 Qin Guan was the only famous actor there, so all the soldiers around were shooting curious looks at him.
 Duan, who was a smart guy, decided to steal from him.
 "Hey! I like your buns. Let's eat together."
 He took a bun out of Qin Guan's box and took a bite. The soft crust parted to reveal the tasty, sweet-smelling meatball. It was the perfect combination of wheat and pork. The sweet porridge and spicy cold dish turned it into a wonderful dinner!
 More and more people gathered around Qin Guan to share his food. This was the best advantage of eating in a dining hall.
 After they had dined and wined to satiety, they had to get back to work. Before they left the Beijing Military Region, the cooking team received a notebook with the signatures of the crew. This was the crew's way to express their gratitude.
 Then, they moved to another battlefield. The last scene would be shot on a field training base.
 Qin Guan's charm was covered up by makeup. This was the perfect look for a field battle.

Everyone started to hide and saw 5 people to enter and talked about something.

???1: Hahaha, this is the best steal yet!

???2: Yeah, the Schnee security has gone bad since the White fang attacks them.

???3: We have so much Dust, we're gonna be rich!

???4: Don't let you guard down yet, we have to wait for the buyers to show up, Right boss?

The last guy who shows was a big hulk body like guy with a lot of scars with no hair.

Boss: Indeed, you lot better not screw up this deal, or I will have your heads!

The other 4 were afraid and nodded and started to take the Dust inside.

Gin: Those are bandits, we have to alert my grandpa.

Yang: And dad, But how?

Then Ruby accidentally hit a broken table in the room and collapsed.

Boss: Who's there!

The Bandits heard the commotion and the leader told 2 of them to get upside.

Ruby: Oh no, what will we do?

I’m not the best guy, who can use grammar flawlessly, I kinda suck at it, my story might be a bit awkward sometimes, but will try my best and I hope you stick around while I evolve to be better, I learn as I go. :)

"(How did you enjoy the show?)" Gardevoir walked towards William, who had a scary face on him.

"Fi. Was it your idea? You do know that Alex has shown her face as a Team Rocket member right?" William's voice was cold, with a bit of rage in it.

"No... it was my idea. I wanted to know if people remember me from the incident." Alex explained as she putted on a t-shirt and jeans.

"..." William fell into silence. 

"Sigh... Results?"

"I think some do remember me, but that can be dealt with easily."

"How?"

"The Police don't have enough evidence, plus I just appeared once, if I don't show up against the police, then they can never charge me." 

"...alright, but why would you risk it?"

"After thinking for a while, that amount of clothing is indeed more fishy that I could be, so I needed to see if I can still switch."

"(She didn't mention one point, she wanted to blend in the group.)"

"..." "..." 

William and Alex went into silence as Gardevoir pointed out.

"Ok, I see now, sorry for the earlier attitude." William calmed down a bit after a deep breath.

"(Its fine.)" Gardevoir shook her head.

"That solves everything." Alex lowered her head a bit, and sighed.

After a while, they ended back at the pokemon center. 

"So? What's your plan? I'm assuming you need a mask as well?" William pointed at his face. 

"Yeah. I already have one though." Alex replied as she stood up from the chair. "My package arrived. There's something for you as well." 

As she said that, she went towards the front desk. After five minutes or so, she came back with a box.

"What's in there?" William peeked over as Alex was opening the box. 

In the box was two pokeballs. Alex picked up one of them and handed over the other to William. 

"Here, take this, I think it'll be a good partner for you." 

"Thanks." 

Without further instructions, William just letted the pokemon in it out. 

"Pory!" 

The pokemon was a pokemon that's made up of geometric shapes, a truly uncommon and strange pokemon. 

"Porygon?" William knelt down on one knee, staring straight into its eyes, whom was staring right back with a pair of curious filled eyes.

"Garde." Gardevoir also knelt down, but her hands were poking the new accompany that they have. 

"Pory!"

Suddenly, a flash of blue energy swept across Porygon, and digits of 0s and 1s replaced its whole body. Gardevoir, who was poking the Porygon had her entire hand go right through Porygon. 

"Porygon, a pokemon made completely out of programming code. This Porygon was my final project before I graduated from University." Alex said with a bit of proudness in her voice. "I think it will suit you." 

"Wow, you already graduated from university?" William asked shockingly. 

"(This man here haven't even handed in his final essay.)" Gardevoir didn't hesitate before telling the truth. "(Just compare yourself...)" and mock William.

"Fi, shut up." William rolled his eyes, but then refocused on the Porygon in front of him. 

"Porygon, what's your dream?"

"Pory!"

"(It said, it wanted to be as strong as Garchomp.)" Gardevoir instantly translated its meaning.

"Garchomp?" William turned over to Alex. 

"Probably Cynthia's Garchomp. It could surf the internet on its own, and Cynthia had a battle show earlier this week." Alex answered William.

"I see, then." William turned his head back towards Porygon. "How about I help you achieve that dream? But in return, you'll have to work hard and you'll have to help me out when I need you." 

"Pory!"

A flash of blue light swept across Porygon, resulting in it materialising. Without much hesitation, it thrusted its head at William's fingers softly. 

"Nice. I can see that it likes you."

"How old is it?"

"Merely 8 months old. But it had a learning program in it so you don't need to worry about it being unable to learn." Alex shrugged. "Its nice right?" 

"Yeah. Although I'm also interested in how programming codes turn into a biological form..."

"That you'd probably have to ask the creator of the web. But now that your done, can you do me a favour?" Alex started smiling after saying that. 

"A favour?"

"Yeah. A rematch between us." 

As Alex said that, her entire aura changed, giving off a serious and confident vibe.

"With Gengar again?" William raised an eye, not even slightly effected by her aura. 

"No, this time, I brought my strongest pokemon here." 

Alex picked up the remaining pokeball in the box, she then pointed it at William. 

"Oh? Fi, what do you say?" 

William looked towards Gardevoir, with amusement in his face. 

"(You don't seem like you want to turn down the fight. I guess I have no other choice. But first, let's find a proper place.)" 

Gardevoir looked around, signalling the environment. (Pokemon Center)

"Alright. Let's meet up at the Forest leading off to Hutber Port after 30 minutes, during this time, we can discuss our strategies with our pokemons without others knowing."

Knowing how strategy would be an important aspect in the battle, Alex suggested so, to which William agreed upon.

"So, see you later." 

William left the building with Gardevoir.

I remember now, god and the reincarnation. It must be my 4th birtday. And my name is Tim Goodman. That means I live in Ryme City.
Not much is known about it, in fact I don't even know what region it is in and my memories in this life can't provide me with an answer either.
Guess I'll have to ask my parents.'
After getting dressed I walk downstairs where I first see my father, Harry Goodman.
'Wow, he truly does look like Ryan Reynolds. Doesn't that mean I will look like Justice Smith? Not too bad I suppose. Could've been much worse. But I'm definitely not going to be some insurance adjustor. Pokémon Master is the only road for me.'
"Happy birthday Timmy! I got you a present, open it up."
He hands me an envelope, and I do as he says. Inside I find 2 tickets to the Arcynia League finals. 
'Arcynia? Never heard of that region before.'
"Dad, what's Arcynia?"
"That is the name of the region we live in son. You said that you want to be a Pokémon trainer, so I figured we should go see a high level Pokémon battle in person.
Do you like it?"
"No, I love it! Thanks dad. But I no longer want to just be a Pokémon trainer, I want to be a Pokémon Master."
"That is a very difficult path to take Timmy, are you sure that's what you want?"
"Yes! Absolutely."
"Well, your mom's gift should help you along your way at least."
"Here you go Timmy." She hands me a small box that has air holes for some reason. 
"Thanks mom."
I open the box she gave me and I find a red cellphone looking Pokémon.
"Is this a Rotom Dex? I thought only Pokémon trainers could get one."
"Normally that's true but your uncle Rex is professor Pine's lab assistant. I asked him to pull some strings to get you one."
"Thank you mom.
Dad? How does someone become a Pokémon Master?"
"You wanted to be a Pokémon Master without knowing how to become one?"
"Maybe."
"Hahaha. To become a Pokémon Master you have to travel to 5 different regions and catch 1 of every single Pokémon that can be found there and register them with the league. Evolutions are the only exception, if you capture a Charizard for example you no longer have to catch a Charmeleon or a Charmander. But if you catch a Charmander you do have to train it and have it evolve into Charizard.
You also need to catch 1 unobtainable Pokémon from each of these regions. An unobtainable Pokémon is a Pokémon that is either Mythical or Legendary grade. And last but not least, you must become the League Champion once in each of these regions. There is no time limit on any of these tasks but they are still considered nearly impossible, and that's not even the end of it. Once you've accomplished these tasks you will be invited to the Pokémon League Headquarters in Arcynia City right here in the Arcynia region. Only League Officials know what happens there but over the last century 12 people made it there but only 4 of them became actual Pokémon Masters."
"Wow dad, that's a lot to process."
"Yes, it will take a lot of training and studying to even have a chance. So? Knowing all of this, do you still want to be a Pokémon Master?"
"Yes! I do."
"Good, just remember son, your mother and I will always do whatever we can to support you."
"Thanks dad. Can I study with my Rotom Dex now?"
"Sure go ahead. But breakfast first."
After quickly wolfing down my breakfast, I go up to my room.
"Rotom? Please register me as your user."
"Understood. Tim Goodman, user registration complete."
'Ding! System activation 100%, Rotom Dex recognized. Would you like to upload the system into Rotom Dex? Losing Rotom Dex will not result in loss of the system. The system will return to the host should this ever happen.'

MC dies a heroic death and wishes to go to the Pokémon world to make Pokémon friends.
This is a sunny story with a nice guy MC. If you're looking for a brooding dark anti hero facing horrible enemies this ain't your thing.

ABSOLUTELY NO HAREM! 
And on a personal note, I grew up very poor so growing up I never had the chance to play the Pokémon games. But I was obsessed with the anime. 
So since I have zero experience with the games I'll be basing my work on the things I learned from the anime. Which means no numerical value for attack and whatnot, also no levels altogether. 
It takes place in a region of my own imagination that contains every single pokemon from every single generation. Story starts in Ryme City from Detective Pikachu since it's never revealed in what region it is located. 

Also, this is just a little side project. My other fan fiction Werewolf Lord Through the Multiverse is still my main focus. I'll be working on this when I get stuck or want a change of pace.

Waking up as always in an unfashionable manner inside an unfamiliar room isn't a remarkable feat. Zero stretches his body, still paralyzed from the bizarre robust events which had happened from… he can't remember. Was he asleep for several hours? Days? He did not know. What he do remember was him lying on Lilith's arms, conversing…rather amazed on the prowess he had obtained. 
: The gamer's ability: 
Games are actions made or done that people find it entertaining to. All sorts of skills, lucks, and strategic skills are comprehend in terms of first player shooting games, role playing games and the like. Achievements, abilities, and other imaginary concepts are capable inside a game that could be played on various consoles. Zero, unfortunately couldn't afford to purchase these items, but rather he too is fond of playing games which are 'available' for his budget. Despite his father's disappearance, he never skips nor left his gaming activities; one thing for sure, he has potential. He have heard that the mages from Warford's academy gains experiences in combat and rather enhancing their skills to make it their own. But in reality, the growth between mages would eventually reach in a bottleneck. 
Zero finally vents his eyes, having the energy to look around his surroundings. Moments later, when he had started to be accustom with his setting, a same large box which he find it familiar popped up right in front of his face; seemingly following around his perspective. 
He looks to his right, the holographic blue box will likewise follow sliding likewise sliding to his right.
He looks up, it does the same thing.
Utterly defeated, he curiously reads what was written on the shady box that appeared out of nowhere.

Bewildered from the fact, Zero widens his eyes as an average box appeared which blocked his whole point of view.
Without thinking much of it, and to cure his curiosity, Zero absentmindedly presses the yes button.

: Barrier activated:
a female robotic voice resounded through his ear. He then looks around for any sight of life forms, and much of his surprise he was sitting upright on a hospital bed inside the infirmary. He looks to a clock which is placed on the highest part of the wall facing the guests inside the room. 
"2 o'clock" he mumbles. It was a good thing he was alone tinkering his settings. Distracted, he resumes browsing the window 'til he notices some sort of foggy winds swarming around his vicinity, forming a kind of wall. His sight wasn't particularly altered but what shocked him the most was the weird thing in front of him. 
"Is this the barrier the system had voiced out?" curious, he then touches the floating mist but to no avail. He tested it multiple times, throwing what seems to be a loose thread but nevertheless showed any improvements in his theory. Fortunately, ironically, a ball of dust which seems to be a ball was blown away by the wind headed towards his direction. The ball of dirt which apparently targets his head was stopped by an unfathomed force 5 centimetres apart from Zero. In shock and content, he smirked as if a child had seen a new game found in the convenience store.
"coo~l" he utters.
His experiment was a success, sort of. Once the outcome was revealed, his surrounding mists starts to evaporating, ending his trial.
 Looking at the cause, he browses to his setting and much to his surprise, his mana pool which was about a full hundred a while ago had been consumed dry displaying: 0 MP, recharging 3 MP per second, 33 minutes and 40 seconds:
"wow" was the only word he could only say.
Another box appeared indicating that he had leveled up his sole ability

"hmm, why would I use it now?" doubting, he presses no and another box popped up indicating

he clicks the yes button. Zero checks his storage and 10 tiny red glasses of which seems to be potions shows on the top left part of his bag. 
*would you like to equip Durandal's blade? Yes/no?
He once again clicks 'yes'. Corresponding mist covered his waist as an average size sword. It is a wide blade forged from 1065 high-carbon steel. Both the metal cross guard, grip band and pommel lavishly plated in sterling silver, giving it a majestic aura of a legendary sword. 
Zero then closes the box and would check everything once again later, as he heard a loud noise knocking from the door.

Since Joe had challenged Pewter Gym first thing in the morning, he still had the rest of the day to do what he wanted. First things first, he went to get a new bag. The simple over the shoulder one he was currently using just wasn't enough, so he bought a proper backpack. After browsing for a little bit, a somewhat bulky dark blue bag with plenty of compartments stood out to him. 
While he was still wandering around town he received a call from Professor Elm. Joe didn't even know the professor had his number. Apparently, when Rotom first possessed Joe's phone, it grabbed his number and sent it to Elm. The professor apologized for this, even though it wasn't his fault. Rotom did it of its own accord for some reason.
But that wasn't why Elm was calling. No, the professor had forgotten to give Joe a Box Link, something that can be used to connect to PC storage from anywhere. Joe only had 6 Pokemon right now, he had none in storage, but he planned to catch anything that caught his eye so the idea of having access to all his Pokemon at any moment was a pleasant one.
The Professor said one of his assistants was in Pewter City right now and they had a spare Box Link, which was a lucky coincidence.
So Joe went to the nearby library and accepted the Box Link as a gift. It was something like a squashed cylinder big enough to house a single Pokeball. The Trainer put a ball in and it was instantly transported to their storage. There was a little screen on the base of the cylinder that allowed a Trainer to select a Pokemon to withdraw from storage. He strapped it to the outside of his bag, thanked the assistant and went on his way.
As things stood, his next destination, a Pokemon centre near Mt. Moon, was too far to get to before nightfall. Joe still wanted something to do though, so he headed out to Route 3 in order to battle and catch some new Pokemon.
While out in the vast fields of Route 3 Joe used his Shinx to battle against a Pidgey and Rattata, catching them after they'd been weakened. During the battle against Rattata, Shinx started to understand how to harness its electricity and learned Spark. RotoPhone pointed out that one of the Kanto gyms used water-type Pokemon, making Shinx an effective member of the team for that battle.
Speaking of Gyms, Joe had multiple options now. He could either rematch Brock after doing some training, or he could move on to another Gym and come back to Pewter at a later date. But he didn't care much for competing in the league, which can be entered after collecting the 8 badges of a region. Joe was just trying to train a team, whether he won or lost the gym battles didn't bother him much.
Well whatever, I'll think about it later. Joe was much more interested in expanding his team for now.
He continued to catch a Caterpie thanks to Cyndaquil and a Mankey thanks to Hoothoot. Joe got his hands on a Spearow after Ralts weakened it with Confusion, which was still the only attack Ralts had. It had a lot of utility, but Ralts could still do with learning another attack.
"Rotom, how many more Pokemon live in this area?" Joe asked, wondering if he should continue.
The usual synthetic voice responded. "Many species of Pokemon can be found in many places. Based on the data I have, there are over 20 species living in the wilderness near Pewter City."
RotoPhone had to specify species close to Pewter City because Route 3 was miles long and ended when it reached Mt. Moon. Because of this, the Pokemon hanging around outside Mt. Moon were completely different to the ones living near Pewter City.
"Hm…" Joe grabbed his phone, which he hadn't done much of since the Rotom possessed it, and swiped through a few pages to see what information Rotom had pulled up. "Oh, this one looks cute." It was also a Pokemon from a type he didn't have yet. He read what the Dex had to say about it and then allowed Rotom to begin floating on its own again. "Yep, Fomantis it is!"
Continuing to explore the open fields with the city to his back, Joe managed to catch a Male Nidoran, but it had Poison Point so Cyndaquil was now poisoned and growing weaker with time. He decided to send the fire-starter to the PC to rest and brought out Caterpie.
Not long after bringing Caterpie out of storage, Another Pokemon caught his attention. It wasn't the grass-type he was after, but Joe chased an oddly fast Paras around the fields, trying desperately to train Caterpie against the Mushroom Pokemon.
"Caterpie, use String Shot on its legs!" Joe said to the bug Pokemon perched on his shoulder.
After a few misses, the Worm Pokemon managed to wrap its string around Paras' legs, making it skid to a halt. Paras cut the string with its pincers but didn't run, opting to battle instead.
"Good, let's do this properly. Go, Caterpie!" Joe swung his arm forward and the Pokemon attached to him hopped off so it could battle.
The two bug Pokemon were somewhat evenly matched, but thanks to some clever use of String Shot, Caterpie came out on top and Joe caught himself a Paras. The Worm Pokemon was ecstatic at the fact that it won, dancing around and practically begging Joe to praise it. He did so by tossing Caterpie a snack which it eagerly ate before crawling onto it's Trainer's arm again.
"Guess you like it there, huh? I don't really mind." Joe pat the Worm Pokemon's head as he looked around. "Not seeing any Fomantis though, and it's going to get dark soon..." 
He was a little upset, but then he remembered what he'd read on RotoPhone. Fomantis often lay still during the day to absorb sunlight, and today was a particularly warm and sunny day. The sun going down should actually work to his advantage because the Fomantis that'd remained inactive for most of the day would start seeking out food.
While he waited, all the moving around had built up small amounts of static electricity on Absol's fur and RotoPhone said that it had attracted a tiny electric Pokemon. Absol stood still while Joe went through its thick white coat until a Pokemon the size of a nail jumped out onto the human. The little yellow Pokemon then rustled around in Joe's short black hair before hopping off him. It seemed to be trying to run, but as it floated down to the grass Joe put his hand out, causing the little Pokemon to land on his palm.
The Pokemon, known as Joltik, turned to look up at Joe.
"Wow, you're tiny." He lightly poked it with a finger from his other hand and, in response, the Joltik closed its eyes and accepted the human brushing it. "And adorable."
It danced around his palm, seemingly happy with Joe. "What, you wanna come along with us?" When it started jumping around, Joe decided to grab a Pokeball with his spare hand, moving it next to Joltik. The little spider-like Pokemon headbutted the button and caught itself, then a faint blue light surrounded the Pokeball and it teleported away to the PC like all the other Pokemon he'd caught in Route 3. "Huh, what a strange one."
Sometimes wild Pokemon just naturally want to be owned by a human. It can be seemingly random and no one has been able to figure out the exact reason, but sometimes a Pokemon just gains immediate affection for a human and decides to go with them. It happened with Cyndaquil, and now with Joltik.
A faint orange hue snapped Joe back to the real world as he realised the sun was setting. "Right, let's get a Fomantis and then head back to town!"

Having no interest in becoming a Pokemon Trainer, Joe started adulthood by getting a job at the local store. But, after a run-in with a Legendary Pokemon, Joe decides a different lifestyle will be a good change of pace so he sets off to help others, catching as many Pokemon as possible along the way.

He later encounters a woman with psychic abilities, and she believes him to be quite special. She insists on travelling with him and so begins a journey across the Pokemon World.
