Blitz dreamt of becoming a superhero like Batman, running around and saving people. unfortunately, he was not one of the gifted.
With neither wealth, powers nor talent in martial arts, his dream is left unfulfilled.
One day, in the process of saving an elderly from a shootout between rival gangs, Blitz loses his life; or did he?

As Ashely arrived in a what looked like a beam of light holding not only Poison Ivy and Scare Crow, but also a knocked out Cat Women. Leonard looked up with raised eyebrows at her and just pointed at the ground while making sure none of the villains attempted to resist or fight back. 

After several minutes of reading the subordinate contract, only Killer Croc refused to sign the contract. The rest of them knew that they had no choice but Killer Croc wanted a 1 on 1 fight with Leonard without using any powers. Agreeing Leonard smirked and took them both to a nearby flat area with the rest of the Super-Villains who were waiting to sign the contract.

Leonard stretched and slowly his aura changed full of killing and as calm as a pebble in a stream. His body makes noises like an ancient robot was being unleashed and Killer Croc swung his tail aiming for Leonard's ribs in which Leonard grabbed with one hand and started smashing Killer Croc into the ground with his own tail. 

The fight turned completely one-sided in a matter of seconds, while the rest of the supervillains watched in shock knowing that none of them could do the same feat. Once again bruised Leonard used his Healing Breath on Killer Croc while the rest of the Super Villans were signing the contract, Leonard really needed more land so he had all of them wire him money through around 50 banks in a matter of moments with Alex's help. Within a short moment, he had around 10 million dollars and was grinding like a mad man. 

He immediately spent half of that money and bought a large portion of land in Nebraska just about 100 Kilometers away from where he bought his house in central city. Leonard had all the material shipped to a certain location and grabbed everything there and flew it back to their new home. As he flew by several farmlands and was greatly surprised no one noticed the hundreds of shipping containers flying across the sky. However, the US detected what they thought to be an Alien ship and sent several people out only to be knocked out in a second and losing all memories of the incident with the help of ScareCrow and Poison ivy.  

Leonard began creating his house based on what he knew on Earth Ships and as he continued building Poison Ivy would stitch the building together with plants and make it so the location of their new base would be completely hidden from anything searching from above. A few days later of work Leonard had managed to finish the home while redirecting a river so it flowed by the home by creating an "Earthquake" which shifted the lands. Not only was the home now self-sustainable but Leonard began ordering large amounts of technological parts to began the creation of an underground lab. His plan was to have Poison Ivy, Scarecrow and Mr, Freeze work in the labs while he would have Cat Women rob criminals and supervillains blind down to their pants. While he would leave Killer Croc in the river to guard the base.

Now Leonard hoped that no one would notice the new hill that suddenly appeared overnight, but low and beholds people came around and couldn't find anything. Leonard then began creating large metal fences that would surround his new 2 miles by 2 mil property. 

[Justice League Watchtower]

Batman has called a meeting with most of the other Justice League members in order to talk about the person who had managed to capture 5 supervillains from his city. When Batman showed the scene of combat and the glowing words, WonderWomen took a breath. 

"No, No, No, No That can't be..." 

"What Diana?"

"Thats the name of the Fire Demon the ruler of one of the world Ygrasdail" (A/N I used Sutror cause Norse Mythology does not come up in the DC universe so I can a little bit more to work with here)

"Why? he doesn't seem very powerful"

"That demon was sealed with by the combined power of the Greek and Norse pantheon, he was stronger than Odin the king of the Norse gods"

"Immediately release an (A/N anyone knows something I can bull shit with otherwise I'm just gonna put  a World Ending Alert)

"Diana check with the people of you island and Aquaman take a look at anything we can use against this Demon"

"What if the Demon is friendly?"

"We still need to be cautious of the situation and if what Diana is saying is true then we must stop the threat before it grows" 

"Also ready yourselves we may have to go to war with this being and we don't know what he has done to the villains taken from Gotham"

Jonathan Kent had finished his chores and was on his way home, in his satchel was a bag that read grow. Placing his bike outside the barn he entered the house. Out in the distance an invisible plane landed on a field of grass and out stepped wonder woman carrying a wild boar at the same time batman glided out his jet. 

Jonathan took a set inside the kitchen and started having a discussion about his time out at the market, Lois asked him "did you use your powers?" and to which he said "no mom, I was very careful and nobody followed me." Placing his shoes to the side he turned to her and said "I would have gotten all my chores done quicker if I had been able to…" Bruce now wore a suit above his batman uniform and Diana changed to black long squirt with an orange top that showed her shoulders. 

Lois cut him off "it's not about getting it done quickly, Jon. Besides you know how your father worries." The doorbell rings and Jon runs out the kitchen to get it. "This isn't me Diana. I don't do this kind of thing. And you brought a Boar?" Bruce and Diana continued their conversation when Jon reached the door 'Dad said I should only use my powers to keep us safe. I'm sure he'd be okay if I took a little peek.' 

Activating his x-ray vision; Jon jumped backed in shock at the sight of Bruce's batman costume looking down he say the skull of the boar beside Diana and jumped back in shock. At the same time superman was climbing out of secret hatch in the barn and put on a dress shirt along with blue jeans over his suit.

Stepping out of the barn Clark saw Jonathan's heat vision send Bruce flying, Diana raised her arm brace to block it but she too was sent skidding across the yard. "DAD, I swear it was an accident!" yelled Jon "I was trying to see through the door when…"  Clark cut him off in worry "Jon, are you ok? Diana, Bruce, what are the two of you doing here? And is that a Boar on my stoop?" 

Lois rushed out the house; pulling Jon in for a hug she said "it's all right, Clark. I invited them. Besides we've put this off far too long." Some more time had passed and the two of them were having a private discussion in the kitchen "Dinner? Seriously we don't even know them that well, Lois. Who are you going to invite next, Lex Luthor?" 

Pulling out some fresh baked pie she said "that's the whole point, Clark. If you're returning to action, I want to know the people who will have your back." Lois put pie on a tray and handed it to Clark "besides we can't remain in isolation forever. So do it for Jon."

Walking out Clark put on his best smile "thanks for uh… coming, guys. I'll be honest, this is the last thing I expected." Bruce was now wearing one of Clark's plaid shirts "Diana made me come." He said while buttoning up the cuffs. "Your wife is right, Clark. This needed to happen." Said Diana from the table; Jon took a seat beside Bruce "I…I'm sorry I blasted you, Mr. Wayne. I hope my dad's shirt fits okay…" 

"This is why I like to work alone. Has your father taught you anything …" Clark cut Bruce off "Don't let him intimidate you, Jon. Believe me, Bruce has worn worse things than plaid, and as much as he talks about working alone. Batman always has a robin, he once wore a rainbow colored suit to draw attention from Dick." Bruce frowned at the comment "I have no recollection of this. And if you trained your son the way I've trained my robins…" Everyone at the table laughed at the story. 

"A rainbow Suit, Bruce" Diana commented as the group continued to laugh. "This isn't a laughing matter Clark. Unchecked you and your son are the most dangerous beings on the plant. The superman I knew lost both is parents and as different as we were… we understood each other. We might have gotten off to a shaky start but our loss helped us understand each other… he was..." 

"What about All-father? And his powers?" interrupted Jon. They all looked down at him "although his strength and gravity are impressive I …" Diana cut off Clark "his control over gravity is more than impressive, on my way to Africa I stumbled on a wormhole he opened off the west coast."

"Then there is his disassembly ability, you've never seen it Clark but that ability. I still can't figure out how it works." Add Bruce, "it's really unique, we dropped by his new house and he used it on himself and Cyborg. They separated into two foot … mini me's" stated Diana.

Lois perked up "So how'd he reform?" everyone focused intently on her, Jon eyes sparkled. "He tried to … take a peak, so I forced him with my lasso." Clark laughed and Lois punched him, Bruce hid his smile. Jon eyes sparkled, his mouth gapped open.

Lois raised an eyebrow "when you become such a fan? You've only seen one of his fights?" Jon let out a light laugh, before letting out a light yawn "good night, love you." As he rushed up stairs Lois turned back and eyed him run away. 

Everything died down and the table was soon at an awkward silence "I better go get dessert. Let's, go Jon." Stated Clark; "you should assist them, Bruce. I want to talk with Lois alone." Diana said as the two women looked towards each other.

When the men exited, Diana turned toward Lois and said "I want you to stop looking at me like that, Lois."  

"Like what?" she asked 

"Like a wounded animal, I've dealt with the loss of my superman. I am not here rekindle old feelings."

"I know, I didn't mean to…" Diana cut off Lois saying "he's not the same man I once loved. Those feelings no longer ring true. And to be honest, my feelings are the only thing I can trust right now."

"What do you mean Diana?" Lois asked

"I'm lost, Lois, I cannot find my way home. I was forced to reach out to an old friend for help." Diana thought of here last fight with cheetah as she talked with Lois "thought she is losing her memory of who she once was, and now greets me as an enemy." Taking another sip of her win she continued.

"She blames me for what happened to her, and then blames the gods. I reminded her that is a Woman and not a beast… and more importantly my friend. I came here, Lois because you are a strong woman. And I believe you to be my friend. You have managed to start a new life in a world with your family, and if I were to never find my way back… I want to know how to start over. "

Upstairs Clark had put Jon to sleep Bruce ageist the wall and said "When they sleep they seem so innocent. You almost believe they would listen to what we say." He thought of all time he spent with Daemon and the rest of bat family. 

Outside on porch Lois said "you'll always have a home here, Diana and most importantly, a friend." some more time had passed Clark, Bruce and Diana were now outside on the farm land staring out at the stars.

 "I don't regret returning to action, but I don't think it's the kind of life I want for my son." Said Clark "believe it or not, I actually am glad you both came. Maybe Lois was right about…" turning his head he heard 'Clark!, Come on Clark!' "You guys hear that?" leading the two of them to his barn he opened the door to see a younger version of him along with his old Pa out in a field of hay!.

A few years back, Dc had a event called flashpoint. the event led into a rebooted of the dc universe while changing a lot of things about your favorite heros. Most of their fans hated it, so they did a mini-event that killed off New-52 (that's the name of reboot) Superman along with changing a lot of heroes.... So in short they Rebooted their Reboot and introduced a slightly older and all round better superman. 

like no joke, the new Superman is better in every way. and obviously a lot happened in between that the new superman has to deal with. I will be covering the important parts of it.

Waking at 04:45, Michael washed his face and changed into his tracksuit. Going towards the quidditch ground for his daily routine which includes 10 km of running with weights, weighted push ups, pull ups, squats, crunches, flexibility exercises, practicing his katas and finally half an hour of morning meditation. 
Walking back to the dorms he saw that students were waking up now, the time was 06:45, he quickly got fresh and had a nice morning bath. 
wearing his uniform, he got ready for breakfast which was at 07:30, he went towards the Great Hall and saw that students were starting to come down for breakfast, only Gryffindor table had least students as most of the students there were lazy. Even Slytherins had mostly arrived at their tables.
After 5 minutes, the breakfast started, children around Michael were surprised by his eating etiquette but were more shocked by the amount of food that he ate alone. Ignoring their reactions he continued eating his food.
After eating his food he left the Great Hall quickly, because he had to utilise his each and every second at Hogwarts, there was still an hour till the classes started he got into his room and started reading all the advanced books that he had acquired in the vault, he had already finished theory upto NEWT level and was now starting to learn mastery level concepts from this 'new' books. it would take him around 3-4 months to actually understand the concepts behind the spells of that level, even though he had eidetic memory, but still needed to grab the concepts behind. it was like having precious information but being unable to understand it. which could lead to devastating effects, that's why after NEWTs wizards take apprenticeship under a master in that particular field. 
The hour was almost up, it was his potions class right now and he didn't want to be late for that class because of Snape's reputation. He took his book, a fountain pen, a parchment and his set of potion equipment kept in a potioneer's case which was a gift from his mom. Taking all his things he needed he quickly got into the dungeons where potions class was supposed to take place, he got into the classroom, saw an empty seat at the top corner and sat there waiting for snape to come to the class. 
After 2 minutes Snape came into the class, black robes, greasy hair, books in his hands and a fluttering Black cape. The first thought that crossed Michael's mind after seeing snape was 'Batman!!!'  He could have bet a hundred galleons that snape's character was based upon batman. He was somewhere getting the feeling that snape might be an unregistered bat animagus. 
He walked over to his desk, kept the books there and stood next to it. 
"There would be no foolish wand waving or silly incantation in this class, as such I don't expect many of you to understand the subtle science and exact art that is potion making" said Snape with a stoic face. "However for those select few who possess the predisposition, I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory and even put a stopper to death" he said in his usual tone. 
"Damn, he must have practiced that one for many years" was the thought that was going in his mind. 
Michael understood Snape's character from original storyline, He had great respect for his brilliant mind. His potion skills are as great as his mom, but now she was ahead due to all the 'new' books. Snape could even be a great asset in war against V-man. As he was thinking this Snape snapped at Michael's lack of focus and said "Mr. Blest, our new celebrity. Tell me, what will you get if you add asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?? "
"God!! not this shit again! " thought Michael as he said in a clear and respectful tone "Sir, powdered root of Asphodel is added to an infusion of wormwood to brew a powerful sleeping potion known as drought of the living death".
" What is difference between Monkshood and wolfsbane?? "
"There is no difference, they are one and the same, they also go by the name of Aconite. It is very useful when dealing with werewolves and in making of an extremely strong sedative that can be useful in brewing the Awakening potion."
"Where would you look if I asked you to find me a bezoar?? "
"A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and acts as an antidote to most of the poisons, Basilisk venom being one of the most famous exception"
There was pin drop silence in the class, Michael noticed twitching on the corner of Snape's eyes and smiled. It wasn't everyday that you get this kind of reaction out of Snape. 
"Looks like you have done some reading Mr Blest, 5 points to Ravenclaw" said Snape, "However, just knowing the theory will not mean much if you cannot apply it in practice"
There was another shock that rippled through the class, it was almost impossible for any other house to gain points from Snape, it was just as possible as your chance to take a dragon egg and make an omelet out of it in from of its mother. Even Michael was shocked, it was his first class and he had already made history in Hogwarts. All the students from Ravenclaw had a new found respect for Michael, they had heard about snape's habit of never giving any point to any house other than Slytherin. 
The rest of the class went normal as Snape explained the theory behind the Boilcure potion. Even though Michael already knew about it, the class was still entertaining watching him taking points from Gryffindor every 15 minutes. Michael had to say, even though Snape had vampire like tendencies and Batman like outfit, he was still a master at his art, he knew how to keep the class entertaining, and how to pound concepts into children's mind, if not by hardwork then by fear.

This is my story, my nightmare. I often dream about the heroes before my time. I've seen Robin with my father once. but we never knew eachother. my father always wanted me to be like grandpa, and says how I resemble him. but I never new he was the Bat. when I found the batcave it was fresh, like someone just used it before me. the first suit I came across was Grandpa's early model, it had lots of bullet holes, knife stabs and no cape. the second one's also my grandpa's, there it was the words I saw in my dreams, " the jokes on you Batman". Later, I found that joker was the worst nightmare for my grandfather. I have a worst nightmare too. His name is "Hannibal".
he is the toughest one I fought. not by strength or power but by mind. he was a failed C.I.A project, who has the ability to confuse, hypnotize,alter your state of mind. he is a combination of joker and Brainiac. he once made a cop eat all his clothes to die. he deducts my every move and is always one step ahead of me. 
Today I came back with a failure again. I received a distress call from the mayor, I took my batdrone and reached the Mayor's office. from the window I saw mayor having dinner, I closed in to see my nightmare. he was eating his own finger, I was shocked to see his face without both of his eyes. which was taken out by a fork in his other hand. I searched for a clue with the help of my friend Alfred the A.I.
I created him for my fight against crimes, it can connect through all the database on the planet, check surveillance and control anything with connection. There was no clue not even a single one. Hannibal was in the prison for more than four years, but still he is doing this somehow. To figure this out, I must meet him once and for all. why am i logging this now? because this maybe my last fight, I want to make it clear how dangerous he is for the next bat. there will always be a next Batman. he killed more people during his jail time than he was out. someone might know how he is doing all this, I have to find that "someone". I fought people with superhuman strengths, and I defeated all of them. I lost some, I have somethings that I might change if I went back in time. In 2050 there was a law implemented by 'World Defence Court'. that no man should possess superhuman abilities, if so they will be destroyed whatever the costs. I have my name on that list, for the technology I possess. I saw Supergirl thrown out of this world by the court, she left to save the people of earth. now I am the one that's left. 
It's time to face my destiny..

A man wakes up to find himself inside the world of Naruto experiencing it via a video game. Forced to fight to survive, he sets upon a path of self-discovery, whether to save this world or destroy it.

"It has been roughly twenty-four hours since the battle in Metropolis between the Justice League and this strange "Berserker" figure. The arrival of a new Hero, whose name has not been released by either himself, or the Justice League arrived in the middle of the battle and took care of the rampaging villain"

"The rampaging villain was soon stopped by the combined efforts of the Justice League as well as this new superhero. His prowess with the spear, combined with his metahuman strength, speed and endurance made him a formidable foe for this "Berserker". His changing appearance may have something to do with the battle, as a strange wall appeared around us as-".

The TV turned dark and the report coming from the famous journalist came to a halt as several figures walked into the room. Gray, who was sitting down on his couch, a half-eaten green apple in his hand tilted his head slightly and sighed at the caped crusader standing right behind him.

The footsteps from a couple dozen other people could be heard from behind Gray, and the twenty year old let out another deep sigh as he placed his apple on the table in front of him, not liking the serious looks on any of the faces of the Justice League.

Or the nervous looks coming from the younger members of the Team.

Batman looked around his penthouse apartment before looking at Dr Fate who was currently inhabiting the body of Giovanni Zatara. The Lord of Order waved his hand before several dozen talismans, seals and shikigami all appeared on the island table in front of Gray, landing on his table with a loud thump.

He sighed once more.

"Isn't their a rule against breaking in entering in this country?".

No-one, not even Diana responded to Gray's comment. All of the members of the Justice League had serious expressions on their faces. Only Superman and Supergirl were not present.

Batman, taking command of the situation sat in the chair opposite Gray's and took out a small holographic projector from his utility-belt. The image of Martian Manhunter and Superman sitting in the Watchtower medical bay came up, a small rising number was present in the corner, indicating that this was live.

"After the battle in Metropolis, those seven Servants disappeared without a trace. As it stands right now we have no means of tracking them. When you disappeared after destroying that arrow that Gilgamesh created, we went to see Superman in the Watchtower. His condition is stable but-".

"His arm. It's not healing nor can you reattach it".

Batman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, the Green Lanterns and the Hawks all frowned at Gray's words. The definitive tone indicated that the twenty year old knew something. Something that they didn't.

Diana, who didn't want Batman to have to threaten Gray stepped forward and looked at Gray pleadingly.

"Please Gray. Tell us what we can do to reverse what Saber has done to Superman. The loss of an arm. It can't be hidden from the world like an identity can be".

Gray looked at the saddened expression on Diana's face before shaking his head once more.

"It's not that I won't heal him. It's that I can't".

"Why?".

Batman's angered expression turned into one of aggressive curiosity as he unblinkingly looked at Gray. The Dark Knight, as well as the rest of the Justice League looked unhappy with Gray's response, while those of the Team looked slightly conflicted as their gazes constantly darted from Gray to Batman.

Gray sighed before placing a hand on the table in front of him. A slight pressure from his hand caused the glass table to fracture, but not shatter. Countless lines bloomed out from the single point that Gray touched, but didn't destroy the glass table.

"Ryougi Shiki, or Saber rather, has the ability to "visualize the concept of longevity given form". They appear in the form of lines, lines of death as you would put it".

Gray gestured to the countless number of lines scattered all over the glass table in front of him. All the League members watched on in interest at the explanation of the Pseudo-Servant, despite their lack of hospitality against the young looking man.

"I don't know everything about these eyes, but let me be clear on one thing. Everything, as far as I am aware, possesses lines of death. Living or dead, animate or inanimate, all things in creation possess lines of death. Once a line of death is cut, it is near impossible to undo the damage done to the target. Unless you can change the conceptual structure of Superman, that wound is permanent.

"That is Ryougi Shiki's power. As long as she has the imagination to visualize events, she can kill even  Gods".

The moment Gray's words left his mouth the tension in the room became palpable. A formless pressure pressed down on the members of both the League and the Team, and the memory of those rainbow colored eyes that gleamed with death was still fresh in their minds.

The Flash, or Barry Allen looked at Gray with his arms crossed and eyes narrowed. His tone indicated that he of all people were not happy.

And that was saying something.

"And how do you know so much about this Saber character? They called you a Servant, but also a Faker. What are you?".

Gray looked at the fastest man alive with a blank expression before turning towards the rest of the people in the room. All of them, even Diana and Dr Fate looked at Gray with interest, although the former was looking at him with a look that the Lord of Order did not.

Gray picked up his apple and took a bite out of the fruit.

"I don't have to tell you anything".

"Why you little-".

The scarlet speedster took a step forward towards Gray, Batman put a hand on his shoulder and looked back at the younger man.

"Take it easy Flash. There is still a lot we don't know about Servants, their characteristics or even the Holy Grail War that J'onn keeps going on about. Gray is our only lead on this. If he doesn't comply, then we can use force".

Batman used the psychic link Miss Martian had created to talk to his friend, trying to placate the speedster. It worked, although the Flash vanished for a second before talking out a whole bunch of food from Gray's fridge, eating it with a speed that even Gray couldn't match.

Rolling his eyes at the actions of Barry Allen, Gray turned back towards Batman, a smile marred the face of the Pseudo-Servant.

"You do want to get rid of the Servants don't you? Or at the very least, get justice for what they did to Superman, correct?".

He looked at both Batman and Hawkgirl in particular, both of them noting how his eyes darted to the red markings on both of their hands, rather than anyone else in the group.

Gray raised his hand on which the three over lapping circles which created his Command Seals shone slightly, much to the interest of the two members of the Justice League. 

Hawkgirl looked down at the red tattoo noting that it still hadn't come off, even after washing her hands so roughly that it broke the skin.

"Don't do that. It'll ruin those hands of yours".

Shayera Hol raised an eyebrow as Gray took her hand in his own, gaining a slight smile as she looked over at Diana, who frowned when her eyes met the Thanagarian whose hand was entwined with Gray's. 

Hawkman frowned but didn't say anything. He and Shayera were having difficulties since the birth of his daughter by another woman. A human woman at that. Their relationship was becoming more strained, as the male started seeing the human woman and Shayera started living at the Wayne Family Manor, as a guest of Alfred rather than Bruce who was standing beside him.

Gray noted the same glimmer on Shayera's tattoo despite her broken skin and smiled at the beautiful redhead before turning towards Batman with a larger smile.

"Do you know what it takes to kill a Servant Batman?".

He frowned at the use of the world "kill", but went along with it for conversation purposes.

"No. I don't".

Gray's smile grew larger and he picked up a piece of chalk sitting in one of his kitchen drawers, putting his finger towards the roof as he spoke,

"All you need to kill a Servant..... is another Servant".

Waking up in an abandoned apartment in Gotham City was never how I imagined my Saturday morning. Seeing Gods walk amongst Men brought familiar yet foreign memories to mind.

I knew who they were, yet I had absolutely no recollection of myself before today. Waves upon waves of experiences and feelings pilled themselves up like mountains within my mind, yet it was jumbled and incoherent.

Being able to stand side-by-side against Demons and Beings whose very presence could shake the heavens and the earth was a dream that every kid had as a kid.... right?

Now were did this Class Cards fit into the equation?

"Do you have the list of questions ready?" Xander asked.

"Here it is," Batman replied, passing it over.

Xander scanned the list. "Number one is useless, I bare some of the responsibility for creating Metallo, so of course the answer is yes."

Batman made a correction.

"I'm still indirectly responsible, since I'm the one who set him against Superman, and thus all Kryptonians," Xander pointed out.

Batman scratched the question off the list.

"The rest of the questions seem reasonable," Xander allowed, "but remember no asking me anything not on the list and that includes someone pulling a fast one and writing questions on it in invisible ink or questions composed of the words in the other questions rearranged to form a different question."

"That's twisted," Superman said, shaking his head.

"But a valid interpretation of the agreement," Batman allowed.

"You'll make sure they keep to the written questions and cover my mouth if any other questions are asked?" Xander asked Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman wrapped her magic lasso around her hand. "I swear by Hera's name that if anyone asks any question you have not agreed to they shall feel my wrath." She was not about to trade questions with Luthor like she had with Mercy!

"Alright then, I'm ready," Xander said extending an arm for Wonder Woman to wrap her lasso around.

Once everything was ready, Batman picked up the list. "Why did you save Power Girl?" he asked.

"Because she was in trouble and I could help," Xander replied.

"Remove the lasso," Batman instructed Wonder Woman.

"But this is only the first question," Superman said

"Yes, but I'd like to modify the questions and I can't ask for his consent if he's under the lasso's influence," Batman replied.

"Can I ask if you had any ulterior motives and what would they be?" Batman asked. "That would eliminate several of the questions we have listed."

"Sure," Xander agreed with a nod.

Wonder Woman wrapped his hand with her magic lasso once more.

"Did you have any ulterior motives for rescuing Power Girl?" Batman asked.

"Sure," Xander agreed.

"Ah ha!" Superman exclaimed feeling justified in his suspicions, but all Xander did was chuckle.

"What were they?" Batman asked.

"Let's see… There is the natural male chauvinism on my part that says a man can't be a man if he stands by and allows a woman to be assaulted, there is also the little monkey hind-brain that says showing off will impress women and improve the chance of mating, there's a small selfish part that says I can show up Superman by doing what he can't. I've also got a bit of a belief in karma and by saving Power Girl, who will go on to save countless others, I'm doing far more good than I'd ever manage on my own and lowering my karmic debt. Also, I can't overlook that saving others will improve my own popularity and my opinion of myself."

The three stared for a second and then exchanged glances.

"Did you have any prior knowledge of Metallo's new weapon and where he acquired it from?" Batman asked.

"While reading a book on Celtic Demon summoning in high school, I came across a reference to 'The Fire of The Gods', which was just a fancy way of saying 'Living Flame'. They used a magical device called an alchemical furnace to turn the mana generated by magical items into Living Flame. The use of Kryptonite (which are just pieces of Krypton that radiate tainted mana) as a power source was rather ingenious, but as you saw it was in no way able to handle that amount of power," Xander explained, wistfully recalling all the research parties he attended.

Xander shook his head as the magic of the lasso encouraged him to continue. "Sorry, just got lost in thought for a moment. I'm not aware of where he got it from or even who could actually modify it for his use."

Batman nodded. "Did you know the weapon couldn't cause you any permanent harm?"

"Nope," Xander replied. "Being magic it could very well have killed me and I wouldn't have been surprised."

"I think that about covers everything," Superman said looking at Luthor like he'd never seen him before.

"Last question," Batman corrected holding up the list. "Do you have any plans for Power Girl?"

"Plans?" Xander asked himself, as the lasso guided him to the truth of the matter that he hadn't even consciously known. "I have no plans, just a lot of fantasies that I was not even aware of until this moment. Apparently, I have a weakness for blonde heroines."

Wonder Woman quickly put her lasso away before Luthor could start giving details.

"I feel better about giving you that pie now," Superman said.

"It was good pie, tell whoever baked it that they did a splendid job," Xander said.

"I will," the man of steel promised before extending his hand. "Thank you for saving my cousin."

Xander shook his hand. "It was my pleasure."

"I'll escort you to the teleporters," Wonder Woman offered.

"Thanks," Xander said, following her out of the conference room and into the hall. "By the way, how is Mercy doing?"

"Quite well," Wonder Woman replied. "The priestess of Athena has confirmed that she has the same blessings from the Gods that all Amazons carry and we may have determined who her mother was."

"Really?" Xander asked hopefully.

Wonder Woman smiled, pleased that he was showing concern for her new sister. "One of our fishing boats strayed outside of the boundaries of Themyscira and was caught in a storm a few decades ago. One of our sisters was lost overboard and thought to be dead, but from the looks of it, Persephone at least lived long enough to reach Gotham and birth a daughter."

"I really wish she could have reached a more... wholesome place," Xander said. "If she had, Mercy could have grown up with a mother."

"You think Gotham is at fault?" Wonder Woman asked, giving him a disbelieving look.

"Have you been there?" Xander asked. "It's like the city was designed to be the backdrop of every horror movie ever."

Wonder Woman smiled. "Better not let Batman hear you say that."

"The next time some alien shows up shrinking cities and trying to steal them, I'm going to 'accidentally' restore Gotham somewhere else," Xander said seriously.

"I don't think you can get away with something like that," Wonder Woman said, "too many people will be watching, like Batman."

"I'll bide my time," Xander said growing a goatee to stroke, "and when they least expect it… *BAM* the Bahamas gain a new island."

Wonder Woman burst out laughing.

"Yeah...That may be a bit much," Xander admitted. "Maybe Montana?"

"I would suggest somewhere warmer," Wonder Woman suggested. "How about Florida?"

"Too warm." Xander disagreed. "How about…"

In the Conference Room

"He really has changed," Superman said, still trying to wrap his head around the concept.

Batman meanwhile had been accessing the recordings in the conference room and had discovered Xander had accessed the computer system. "I'm still wondering what traumatic event occurred to cause that change and there is no guarantee that his change of heart is permanent."

"Yeah," Superman said perking up, before sighing. "It may be easier and less frustrating to deal with the old Lex, but everyone deserves the chance to change."

"Yes," Batman agreed absently as he read through the files Luthor had left for them to review. He tapped his com device. "Mr Terrific is Zatanna available for a consult?"

That evening

Ma smiled at seeing how their family had grown. Clark and Diana were sitting on either side of Lois… a bit of a surprise but a welcome one; she'd like to see some grandkids before she passed. Karen was sitting next to Kara, a little uncomfortable to be there, unused to family, but she'd adapt.

"So, how did he like the pie?" Ma Kent asked.

"He loved it," Clark said. "I was a little hesitant to give it to him, knowing him as I do and he knows me well enough to tell, so he volunteered to let Wonder Woman use her lasso to question him on the matter."

Everyone turned to look at him.

"Why did he save me?" Karen asked.

"Because you were in trouble and he could help," Clark replied. "He didn't even know if the flames would kill him as they turned out to be magical in nature."

"I feel better about sending him a pie now," Ma said with a kind smile.

"Could he have been lying?" Pa Kent said.

"No," Diana said shaking her head, "my lasso was forged by the gods and even they are forced to tell the truth while under its influence."

"Batman believes something traumatic has happened to change Luthor for the better," Clark explained, "and I think he's right."

"He's certainly more...humorous," Diana offered.

"He is at that," Clark agreed. "Flash has floated the theory that gaining Plastic Man's power may have something to do with that."

"But he is honest in turning over a new leaf?" Kara asked hopefully.

"It seems so," Clark agreed.

"Why so interested?" Lois asked curiously, sensing a story.

"No reason," Kara said quickly before turning to Karen. "So… going to marry him?"

It took a minute for the table to settle down enough for Karen to explain, "I was joking. I told Kara that since Lex saved my life, gave me a new outfit, and I didn't have to worry about hurting him that if he was still a decent guy after a year had passed I'd allow him to propose."

"Well you are his type," Diana offered.

"Magic lasso?" Karen asked, figuring it had somehow come up under questioning.

"It surprised him too," Clark offered.

"Regardless we rarely interact so I doubt him having good taste really changes anything," Karen said with a smirk.

Kara grinned, relieved her distraction has worked.

"Enough about work," Ma said Turing to Clark. "How did you three get together?"

"Well," Lois began, "it started with me discovering that one of my great-great-great grandmothers was Kryptonian."

This time, everyone stared at Lois.

"Did I forget to mention that?" Lois asked.

"Yes, but considering what was going on I can see how it slipped your mind," Clark replied.

"Well, as it turned out, my Kryptonian genes conflicted with yours so I had the computer search for a compatible gene set," Lois explained.

Ma Kent gave a happy little squeal

"That's what you were celebrating," Diana realized. She smiled. "I had just dealt with Poison Ivy, and that rather strange Dryad had covered me with pollen of some sort that I needed some help with."

"We got…. rather involved and found it agreeable," Clark said, trying not to blush.

"Very agreeable," Lois added with a smirk.

"What DNA did you use?" Kara asked, not wanting to contemplate her cousin's sex life.

"No Idea," Lois replied unconcerned, "it was discovered during one of Batman's cases and is from somewhere in time, probably the future, but it allows me to do this."

Lois stood up and split into three.

"I can do my job as a reporter," one said.

"And be a stay at home mom," the second added happily, making Ma Kent grin broadly.

"And paint," the third one added.

"That looks to be very useful," Pa Kent said with a smile.

"If you think three is useful..." Clark said with a grin before pulling out his cellphone. "Batman was kind enough to give me a copy from the Watchtower files.

He pushed a button and the sounds of the village people began to play…

Xander winced as another panel blew up in a shower of sparks. "They never show all the explosions an evil genius goes through when trying to invent something," he complained, before signaling for a couple of technicians to replace the board.

"Sir," one of the scientists said nervously, trying to catch his attention.

"Yes, what is it?" Xander asked distractedly.

"I believe the problem lies with the sensors, sir," she said nervously, well aware of her boss' temper. "It's too sensitive and is causing feedback."

Xander considered that for a moment. "You could be right. Set them to minimum sensitivity and adjust the targeting to… early to mid 1800s. I'm pretty sure there a lot less chronal intrusions in that time period. We can adjust sensitivity while slowly zeroing in on a chronal event for calibration."

"Right away, sir," she said, rushing off to make the necessary adjustments.

"It's a brilliant design, sir," another of the scientists said, attempting to suck up.

"Tony always was a genius at whatever he did," Xander agreed, "even becoming a time traveling ruler of all humanity while screwing with his past self to make sure he'd become him."

"Ruler of humanity?" the scientist asked confused.

"I stole the design from a time traveler from another Earth and modified it for my own use," Xander explained.

"So, we're working with stolen technology?" he asked, surprised that Luthor would admit such a thing.

"Pretty sure he wouldn't bother coming back a couple thousand years into the past of a foreign Earth to patent anything," Xander replied. "Stole just sounds more impressive than 'I examined the remains of his armor and memorizing the sections I could use'. Stole at least sounds a little exciting."

The scientist chuckled. "Stolen it is, sir."

Three Hours and many explosions later...

"Finally," Xander said as the machine hummed along, monitoring tachyon particle disruptions and absorbing an infinitesimal amount of chronal energy without causing an overload of the insanely sensitive sensors they were connected to. His fingers danced across the keyboard as he designed a program that would translate the incoming data into a visual format.

The image on the screen resolved into a blond man in buckskin breeches and a white shirt, wearing knee high teal boots and teal leather gauntlets, vanishing in a flash of lightning.

"The calibration isn't enough to pinpoint the date," a female scientist noted, "but a rough estimate puts it at late eighteen thirties to early eighteen forties."

"But what are we seeing?" another asked.

"Max Mercury," Xander replied, "AKA Windrunner. He's the first Flash and he just broke the time barrier."

"The rumors about The Flash are true?!" one of the scientists exclaimed in horror.
