"What the f**k?!" Su Jiayi cried out when the cat attacked her face. The cat snarled and scratched her face. 
Jing Lihua turned back, surprised. It happened too fast. She couldn't keep up with all that.
All she saw was Su Jiayi and the white cat engaged in a fiery fight. She stood frozen for a moment, the next moment she broke into laughter. Grabbing her belly, she tried hard to stop herself but she couldn't.
"What the f**k are you laughing for, bitch!" Su Jiayi cried out. "Are you going to help me or not?!" She had just gotten the cat off her face and pushed her down on the floor. But the cat didn't give her a minute to breathe and the next second, it lurched at her again. Jumping right from the ground to her face. Screams of Su Jiayi and snarls of the cat were mixed together.
They were a melody to Jing Lihua's ears.
She couldn't stop laughing to think of doing anything to stop them.
Catching sight of Jing Lihua laughing her ass out, Su Jiayi was maddened. But she couldn't keep that cat off her face on her own.
Having no choice, she resorted to running away. Jing Lihua has hardly gotten a little control over her laughter. But when she saw Su Jiayi running away like that from a little kitten, she once again broke into laughter.
"Oh, God!" Jing Lihua wiped the tears from her eyes. At her feet, she saw the white cat snarling in the direction Su Jiayi was running. She chuckled and picked up the cat in her arms. Once the cat-faced Jing Lihua, it meowed very cutely. "Now that's my girl." Jing Lihua patted her and laughed again. "You deserve a treat for what you did today."
With a very happy expression, securing the white cat in her arms, Jing Lihua walked for Li Zhiqiang's apartment.

Su Jiayi bust into the bathroom. Her face was covered with scratches. Some of them were even bleeding. "I won't ever forgive her for this." She hadn't ever been insulted like this in her entire life.
Su Jiayi had always taken care of her face. She wouldn't ever have let as much as a pimple tarnish it. But now that, in the bathroom when she saw the sorry state in which her face was, she felt like killing someone. She splashed water onto her face. She didn't care how cold the water was. Tears were brimming in her eyes. She looked up and stared into her reflection. "Jing Lihua, you are going to regret this!" Her voice was immersed with deep resentment. Tears rolled down her bloodshot eyes.
She quickly dialed a number. Her breathing was shallow and faster from all the hate and anger. "I want you to do it, right now! I am not going to wait anymore! I want to see her destroyed!" She screamed over the line.
The person on the other side apparently agreed. Because, the next second, a smile appeared on Su Jiayi's lips. "Jing Lihua." She said that name. Her eyes flashed with something. "If I don't have you regretting ever crossing me then I'm not Su Jiayi."

Li Zhiqiang had been waiting when Jing Lihua appeared at his apartment. "Huh? How long had you been waiting? Did you say you were in an important meeting?"
"And I also said nothing is more important than you." Li Zhiqiang sounded grumpy.
"You didn't just call off the meeting because of me, did you?" Jing Lihua had given up on being surprised at his antics.
"What do you think?" li Zhiqiang shrugged.
Jing Lihua sighed, "You did." She would have berated him or objected at the least. But she knew it was no us. This man, he was crazy. There was no saving him.
She could only sigh for all those in her heart who had been preparing the proposals for the meeting for God knows how long.
"Let's forget about it. Where is my kiss?" Li Ziqiang grinned and walked to her.
"What 'kiss'?" Jing Lihua stepped back.
"A kiss we had decided to give each other whenever we met after a long time." Li Zhiqiang continued to corner her.
"I decal recall deciding anything like this with you."
"Doesn't matter. Let's start it from right now." Li Zhiqiang was inches away from her when the white cat snarled suddenly. He stopped.
Jing Lihua was surprised. She rose te cat in her arms. "You know what I am loving you more and more." She laughed at Li Zhiqiang. "Be like this. Whenever this man tries to assault me, shoo him away and protect me." Jing Lihua cuddled with the cat. The cat mewed in satisfaction.
Li Zhiqiang felt a faint ache in his heart. "I was the one brought her to you." He complained.
"For that, I am very grateful to you." Jing Lihua laughed at his childish behavior.
"This is not right. I should be the one in your arms right now and not that cat!" Li Zhiqiang glared at the cat. To his surprise, the cat returned his glare with a snarl. Li Zhiqiang was speechless. After a second, he glared at the cat harder. This time, the cat resorted to a different tactic. Instead of snarling back, she shrank in Jing Lihua arms assuming a pitiful look and mewed quietly as if she was being bullied.
"Don't scare her!" Jing Lihua secured the cat in her arms protectively. She stared at Li Zhiqiang with incredulity in her eyes. "She is just a little kitten. Why would you look at her like that? What did she ever do to you!?" Jing Lihua felt truly bad for her kitten. Especially after the cat had stood up for her against Su Jiayi, Jing Lihua felt closer to her.
Li Zhiqiang: "..." He felt helpless. How was he supposed to tell her that the shrewd cat was only using her cuteness to win her pity against him? 
At his silence, the cat mewed at him smugly. That little bit*h!
"You are such a kid." Jing Lihua shook her head after seeing his expressions. She couldn't believe the man in front of her was that rumored formidable President Li. She sighed, leaned in and kissed his cheek.

"President Li." Jing Lihua's sweet voice again assaulted his ears. "What if I want you to make me regret?"

The second those words left her lips, she was kissed furiously.

Another day at school when Travis starts harassing you once again quotes like, "shut up, you faggot stop talking!" And "you don't deserve to live!" started to get to you. "Maybe he was right maybe if I do ki-," you thought as you run into the man of the hour, Travis. "Hey loser, you were who I was looking for." He says in a hurtful tone. 
"I don't want to see you th-" you trail off. As he picks you up by your collar. He drags you down the hall as your fight or flight kick in and you start trying to fight him kicking, punching you even bit him once. A teacher saw and told you to stop trying to pick a fight with someone you will not win to. She also sent you to the principals office. 
"You will be suspended for three days for hurting another student." She said in a calm tone. 
"What? You didn't do anything to Travis when he-" 
She cut you off saying," what's in the past is in the past, I'm calling your mother to tell her to come pick you up." 
You walk out. Running to the bathroom. " I can't cry at school again." You mumble to yourself. Your mom picks you up and doesn't say a word to you in the car or elevator and then like something clicks in her head starts to yell at you. "What the hell is wrong with you!?" You respond with," take me to a therapist or watch the cameras at school and you'll know!" 
"Don't tell me how to raise you!" 
"Fine just let me be like this all my life!" You yell as you stomp to your room. Maybe you should kill yourself maybe everyone would be happier? You didn't know and if you do it you wouldn't find out. Your mom knocks on your door and says she's going to dinner with her boss. And when she left you look to see if anyone else is there. No one was so you grab a razor and a screwdriver to get the blades out.  You got them out and started writing letters to: Sally, Larry, Ashley, Todd, Mom, and  Travis. Travis is the reason your doing this. You gave sally the bag full of letters and tell him to open them tomorrow. He said okay. 

You go to the bathroom and start cutting, red falls down, tears fill your eyes it hurts but it will not hurt for long. You feel dizzy when you hear bangs on the door before you can see who it is you 'fall asleep'.

The boy looked at jax with cold eyes the temperature suddenly dropped around us making my spine shiver. The silence was only for a few seconds but it felt like hours *cough cough* Psycho said. I looked this man up and down before my colour drained from my face and my fist clenched. I could only muster up the courage to say "you don't deserve to be here" as he looked into my eyes all I could seem to do was say "No one here likes you leave". I turned around to leave when I heard him say "your not my boss" I just laughed and looked at him "your not my man so don't pretend to be" I angrily said. I turned around and walked into the forest not know that I had already started to run in vamp speed and my eyes started to become wet and my jaw started to tighten. After about an hour of running I came to a stop when I saw a modern buildings a house it was painted white like snow. It had a garage and a door that was made out of thick wood with windows and a balcony around the back. As I got closer It had a lock it wasn't like any normal look it was in the shape of a heart. The perfect size that fit my necklace and the door unlocked as I walked in I entered the living room. It was huge it had two massive couches and a ND a really huge TV. I went down the hall where there was 2 rooms I entered the first room it was like my brothers but bigger. It had black walls and soft carpet a bed in the middle of the room it had blue sheets, there was a desk on the left wall it had some work onit. A closet   and a bathroom it even had a skate ramp unit for my brother to practice his skateboard tricks. I left the room to go further down the hall to see the second room I opened the door  to see a set of stairs in the middle of the room. I went to see what was on this floor and I saw a Guitar, a keyboard and a desk were I could write my songs and a couch on the wall.  On the opposite wall the was a room that had a microphone that any singer dreamed to have, it was a recording studio I smiled. I went to the stars and walked up them went I got to the top floor I saw a bed it was pushed against the wall the sheets on it were black and had splashes of colours on it. There was a bathroom on the other side of the room and a closet too there was a balcony that looked into the forest. There was photos on the wall and quotes written on them too I smiled and than I saw there was a slide in the room I ran to it. I looked down and couldn't see anything so I jumped on it and than I entered another room it had battle gear and weapons it had a punching bag. My smile started to spread from cheek to cheek, I went up the stairs and was in the kitchen and walked out the door and entered the lounge room. I was stunned this place was amazing I was in love with it I heard the door open and I jumped onto the roof to hide. "you know I was wondering when you found this place" Jax laughed I jumped off the roof and laughed "do you like your room" had asked "I love it" I smiled.

It had been initiated for reasons that few people actually know, and is rumored to have lasted for hours within a period of 13 continuous days.
10. Gova — The rarest form of ice crystal, it is a type of ice that takes many manual hours and weeks to melt into liquid. The cost of one is in the thousands.
11. Melo — The equivalent of the day known as Monday on Earth.
12. Tulo — The equivalent of Tuesday on Earth.
13. Ginta — The most green crystal to exist in the Kingdom of Crystal.
14. Bure — The equivalent of a hawk bird on Earth. In the Kingdom of Crystal, they have aqua blue feathers with white streaks and tail ends, and long, skinny feathers. Some of their colors are changed in other islands/countries due to mixed genes. Their eye vision is one of the sharpest and farthest in the bird class.
15. Aqua bin — Equivalent of earth's recycle bins.
16. Decal — A scoring system in the Kingdom of Crystal, mainly for the literary and academia field. In college, a decal can range from 0.2 (low) to 5.0 (high). In the literary and scholarly field, the range is 20-0 to 100-0, with digits after the dash referring to different areas or fields (0 being literary scholar, 1 being literary).

Kingdom of Crystal's Soldier Dillon Caudry had just been promoted to General Soldier of the Barrier Unit. Just when events in his life were going great, and he found a beauty he believed to be the love of his life, war struck again and he must return to a world enveloped by pain, fire, and unchanged history. Jono was sulking miserably at Gray's side while Gray kept intentionally asking the escort he was given about the advantages of VIP over the others.  This was one of the few times that Gray really had the one up on Jono so he was taking his time to rub it in.

"Oh, so I can go ahead of people with value, normal, AND advanced passes!" said Gray smiling while eyeing Jono to see if he could get his face to explode from jealousy.  Felicia, the gorgeous female escort and attendant, felt it was quite amusing to see these two bicker so she was glad to bestow any information about the VIP pass and emphasized how it was superior to the others.

"Yes!  AND all of your snacks and beverages are included so eat as much as you want all on Alterra Corporation's dime!" said Felicia smiling while also giggling slightly watching Jono start to look a little green even.

Eventually they did stop teasing Jono as he started to go numb and talk to himself so they figured it would be a good time to stop messing around.  Felicia finally ended the teasing by adding "Oh, and your suite can be used by you and up to 3 friends, no matter what level of pass they have!"

This last part was meant to offer some consolation to Jono and Gray considered riding his high a little longer but after seeing Jono's puppy dog eyes he caved and said  "Dude, I was planning on letting you come already, don't give me that look, it's grossing me out"

Felicia guided Gray and Jono to a large hall with a stage in it that was used for the larger events and took them up an elevator that Gray had to use his VIP pass on to get it to operate.  Along the hallway was 3 rooms, Felicia led Gray and Jono to the second room and led them in to their suite.

"Wooowww…" Gray thought to himself as he looked at the interior of the suite.  Inside was a fully automated kitchen on one side and a full bathroom and den on the other side.  The main interior contained an ornate kitchen table made out of real wood.  Wood was a luxury in this day and age with virtually no free land mass to support huge forests anymore.  Outside of the room a sliding transparent door led to the balcony which had 4 large cushy chairs, each big enough to easily hold two people if they didn't mind sitting next to each other.

Felicia strutted in front of Jono and Gray and pointed out the various amenities for them and left a holoboard on their kitchen counter that they could order the food from a high quality chef AI.  She opened up the door to the balcony and swept her hand out over the balcony saying they had one of the best views available.  Jono was relieved at the bathroom and immediately excused himself since it'd been awhile for him.  Felicia sat down in one of the cushy chairs on the balcony and folded one leg over the other seductively as Gray was peering over the railing out of curiosity.  Gray turned around and saw Felicia looking at him with both of her arms out on each arm rest while her legs were crossed causing Gray to feel a bit nervous.

"You must try these seats, they are made out of the most comfortable sea foam that scientists have been able to genetically enhance" Felicia said charmingly while stroking the arm of the chair she was in.

Gray thought it was getting a bit warm in there but sat down regardless and felt himself sink in just a little bit as the chair really did feel like a gentle embrace as it supported all of him comfortably.  "Um, it's a little too soft, are these adjustable?" Gray asked.

"Indeed it is, let me show you."  Felicia got up from her chair and leaned over in front of Gray's chair, she reached out with her right hand and touched a small slider under the arm and swiped her finger towards the front of the chair and Gray started rising in the seat as the chair became firmer, eventually becoming as hard as plastic.

"Wow, that's amazing!" said Gray.  He was really tempted to play with it of course because it was something new to him and who doesn't love playing with new things!  Felicia sat down beside him on the now firm chair, much to Gray's surprise.

"You have to be gentle with it, or it will break…"  Felicia said extremely seductively while looking at Gray.  Gray got extremely shy at this point and wasn't sure what to do and absent-mindedly swiped the slider towards the back of the chair all of the way.  The chair become soft and cushy again and even more so than before.  Because of the softness, the chair sagged slightly in the middle causing Gray and Felicia to slide into each other causing both Gray and Felicia's face to get bright red.

Naturally, Jono opens the door and in a panic Gray jumps up suddenly causing Felicia to fall on to her side.  Jono sees Gray standing there not looking at him as Gray is pretending to continue to admire the view while Felicia's face is a little red from before while she's lying on her side on the chair.

"Oh, Ms. Felicia, if you were tired, we could've taken a rest before." Jono said unknowingly thinking that she was lying down to rest.

"O..Oh, I'm fine I was merely showing Gray how to adjust the softness of these chairs and I accidentally slipped a little when it went soft…" said Felicia

Gray couldn't help but think "Good thing the chair isn't the only thing that went soft."

The three of them returned to the main hall of the game conference and Felicia had said that she needed to attend to other matters but she gave Gray her direct message number in case anything else came up.  Jono asked for it too and as one last rib on Jono, Felicia stated "What for?  You're not the VIP" causing Jono to cry a little on the inside.  Felicia laughed softly then returned to the security office near the front of the banquet hall.

Gray and Jono visited a few booths for other games, Gray went mostly to check out the upcoming games and Jono said he did the same but he was drooling at one of the female models in cosplay attire and not paying attention to the actual gameplay itself.

Gray had developed a theory about these sorts of conventions, the prettier the model, the worse the game.  A great game would sell itself and not need eye candy to draw people to it.  Naturally the large booth setup for Alterra Online was packed with people.  It seems that if you picked up a code from the Alterra Online booth, you could get an exclusive mech decal.  While this sort of thing really wasn't important to Gray, he did like to at least collect as many freebies as possible.

When the staff at the Alterra Online booth saw his VIP status, one of the attendants came out to greet Gray.  "Sir, may I scan your ID badge?"

"Uh, sure" replied Gray.

After scanning Gray's badge, the attendant looked down at his holoboard and then said "Oh!  You are one of the members of 'Enter Team name here'!  For having one of your team's fights being selected in our promotional video, you and all of the other members of your team will each gain 1000 merit points!"

Gray's eyes went wide because this was really a large sum at this time and would bring his and the rest of the team up to 2270 merit points each except for Stacia that had 1470 merit points due to purchasing a Juniper SE.  He figured it would be best to hold on to it for now though as their Diamond-tier mechs would finally be usable the day before the official launch.

The attendant handed Gray a holoboard that had the promotional video playing and said "If you would like, we can add your name and team name to the video in the places you're used to promote your team instead of just listing it in the credits."

Gray thought for a moment and said "Eh, sure, why not."

Gray watched the video from start to finish and had to admit that although it was a sloppy fight against their first opponent, it sure looked flashy, especially when you Yurika's mech stormed out of the forest with her submachine guns blazing.

After finishing the video, Gray had to admit that some of the matches they picked were a little odd, but it also did show that one could have fun in Alterra Online aside from blowing away the other team.  He actually thought it was hilarious that one guy actually started picking up rocks, trees, dirt, and even his own weapon to throw at the enemy when he used up all of his ammunition.

"Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess.  Still, I am impressed with the level of realism as I never would've thought one could pick up the terrain like that and use it as a weapon as a last ditch effort."  Thinking about the realism further, Gray really started to consider utilizing terrain for future matches on the maps that were large enough to do so.

While thinking further, the lights in the entire conference dimmed for a moment and a loud voice boomed throughout the venue.

"Ladies and Gentleman, the Alterra Online promotion will begin in 10 minutes, please find your way to the main hall!"

A hundred years from now the Earth is now reduced to several domed cities after the last war raised the temperature across the planet thus raising the sea level.

The most common escape for everyone is virtual reality.  A new game, Alterra Online, is set to release and promises to be the most realistic mecha/military/political simulation to date as well as the first full dive virtual reality game.

Gray Wilhelm, like so many others, wants to be one of the first to play.  What is Alterra Online's secret?  Why do players feel more alive in the game than in real life?  And why is the government and Alterra Corporation working on it together?

11/9/2019 - Slowing down release rate temporarily as I edit and clean up the first volume extensively.  Wow was I bad!  Doesn't quite need a rewrite thankfully.

Two Eurasian tree sparrows fluttered through an open window and alighted on the white marble windowsill. They chirped at each other, twitched their pure white-cheeked heads, then skimmed back to the torrid atmosphere.

Elizabeth Euler, dressed in typical housewife clothing, green and blue striped dress with a red apron, prowled across the gray rug, picking up the compressed Cheetos bags on the floor by the desk next to the open window. "What a mess you've become." She joked as she threw the garbage in the stainless-steel trash can and glanced at Francis Euler lying supine on his upholstered sleigh bed. She was almost as tall as Francis and had long braided brown hair.

Francis shifted his body to his right, dangling his right arm off the bedside and almost touching the 4-drawer bedside table with his fingertips. On top of the table, a white digital alarm clock blared when the time read 7:00 a.m, waking Francis up from his peaceful dreams. He raised his head from his white firm pillow, pulled the bed cover off his hairy legs, then stood up from the bed to stop the alarm clock.

"I'm so tired," Francis growled as he adjusted his groin in his gray woven boxers and stomped his way to the bathroom on the other side of the bed, without noticing his mother in the room. He was very tall and had short sides with medium-length brown hair on top.

Mrs. Euler stealthily made Francis's bed, then threw his worn clothes, black cotton sweatshirt, and black jogger pants hung on his gaming chair, in the white laundry basket by the beige foldable closet doors. After she heard the toilet flush and Francis opening the sink water, she knocked on the bathroom door. "Honey, after you're out of the bathroom and done dressing, come down for breakfast. I made your favorite bacon and eggs combo."

"Okay, Mom. I'll head down when I'm done brushing my teeth." Francis gargled and spat out the water, then closed the sink water and opened the door. "I just need to get—" He noticed the tidiness of his bedroom when he merged out of the bathroom, then groaned. "Come on, Mom. I keep on telling you that you don't have to clean my room. I'm not five anymore. I can do everything on my own."

"I'm sorry, dear. I want to speed up the process, so we can talk about the first day of your freshman year while we eat. I'm getting excited thinking about it."

"Whatever, then. I see that you threw my clothes from yesterday in the laundry basket." Francis wore black jogger pants, black socks, and a red, long-sleeves t-shirt taken from his 2-door wooden wardrobe. "How's the weather?"

"Well, Nathaniel called twenty times last night." Mrs. Euler paused for a moment and looked visibly concerned. "Are you sure you don't want to answer him anytime soon? Because he seems eager to hang out. I get that you were busy all summer, trying to get a job, but at this point, you are just avoiding your best friend, let alone, your only friend."

Francis, fully dressed, walked down the squeaky staircase to the dining room with Mrs. Euler. "I see that the weather's quite stormy." He sighed, raising his hand to scratch his forehead. "He does nothing but wastes my time that I could use to do something more meaningful like pursuing Computer Science. I'm seriously tired of him. Honest to god. The only reason why I don't want to— Air quotes. "hang out." – is that his definition of hanging out is to annoy the hell out of me by going on vexatious adventures." Francis sat on a dining room chair as Mrs. Euler brought bacon and eggs on a white glass plate and stainless-steel knife and fork to the table. "They aren't adventures. It's all pretend for us, or him, at least. I stay by, pretending to play fantasy with him.
