As he was wondering what happened to the others, he remembered one of the novels he had read. It was a story of a fantasy world, where a king of a human kingdom summons heroes from another world to save their world from the demon king, a typical Isekai (Another World)  fantasy novel.

Our protagonist, John Kaiser, started to contemplate and question 'why?' why was he the only one not summoned?

And as his questions go crazy, a light emerges from the place where he was sitting.

Is this the start of our protagonist's fantasy adventure as a hero? Or will he live the same life again as an average person even in another world?

Even though my mind conjured up an immensely satisfying image of slapping my resignation in Caleb's face and walking out of this wretched  place with my head held high, the real world worked a lot differently.

For one, there was no slapping-my-resignation-in-the-face part when the said face was missing long before I had managed to type the letter.

Maybe it was my haze of anger that didn't let me see Caleb leave, or a hidden trap door within the cabin that I was unaware of, but by the time I returned, the cabin was empty except for a very defeated looking Leo hunched over on a chair.

He barely looked up from his staring spot near his shoes as I walked in, looking as lost and worn-out as I felt from within.

Which was just as well, I thought as I placed my envelope onto the desk. I didn't want another ruckus that was sure to ensue if Leo decided to talk me out of this.

For another, as much of a relief as it would've been to never set foot back here, I had to serve a month long notice period before walking out, or have the word, "abscond" get stamped onto my employee records permanently. And I was not having that.

"That transfer offer still stands, you know?" Leo spoke gruffly as I turned back to the door to leave.

"I'll serve the notice period," I replied instead, without looking back. 

"One month, and then I'll be gone."

For some reason, I felt guilt bubbling inside me even though I knew none of what had just happened was my fault.

Leo sighed, and I dared to turn back to look at him. His shoulders were still hunched and right then, he looked more defeated than ever.

"I'm sorry, Leo," I said in a near whisper voice, even though I wasn't exactly sure what I was apologizing for.

But Leo seemed to understand, for he looked up at me with a sad smile and nodded once. As I turned back to leave though, he spoke again.

"Take the rest of the day off, Ruth."

I turned back again, this time with a frown. It wasn't even 3pm on a friday, afterall.

"But its mid-day," I replied in confusion.

"I'm aware of that." He spoke without looking at me as he dropped his head back and stared up at the ceiling now.

"And its weekend. There's two days off after today." 

"I know what a weekend is, honey."

"Then why would you-" I didn't get to finish my sentence as Leo finally looked at me. But this time, his look wasn't tender and brotherly. It wasn't even friendly. He looked at me like the owner of the company I worked for. And he looked like a person who didn't like his decisions to be questioned.

"Because I can, Ms. Brooke. Because Caleb will come off his adrenaline high and ass-brained attitude soon enough, and I don't want another spectacle here. For whatever intents and purposes, we took this place over. And I'd be damned if I let Caleb, Tristan or anybody else taint my family's name. What might happen off the clock is another matter altogether."

He stood up as he talked, making full use of his height as he continued, "Go home, Ruth. Take the day off. Enjoy your birthday weekend."

Without another word or question, I turned to leave, still reeling from all the things Leo had just said, and the fact that he knew of, and remembered my birthday.

When I think about the word 'enjoy', it never comes with the same thought of having a housefull of long lost relatives and their friends all under one roof while I slave off in kitchen, hustling to make sure every one of the thousand mouths are fed.

But that's exactly what happened after I reached home that afternoon. Unlike me, Sairey was having a perfectly normal day at school so of course, she wasn't home. I was left to stew over my day - my whole week, my whole freaking life - alone. 

Usually, I loved having the house to myself. Loved the peace and solitude. But today, not so much. So when my phone chimed with a message from my mother reminding me to be at her house by 6pm, I was only too happy to get myself some distraction.

3 hours later, I wasn't sure what to do to distract myself from this distraction.

"Happy birthday, Ruth my dear. You look so cute!" one of my mother's eldest sisters came in through the kitchen doors and hugged me.

Even though I've grown up here and spent nearly all my birthdays with them, getting hugged and patted on the head still made me feel like a 7 year old. 

Not to mention, the word, 'cute' set my teeth on edge. But years of ingrained manners made me refrain from any comments as I hugged her back.

"In advance, you mean?" I reminded her as I pulled back and let her fuss over my hair and dress.

"Oh pish. Its less than 3 hours from now anyways."

It was, but try as I might, I felt very little joy on my birthday this year. I blamed it on being freshly out of job, but subconsciously I knew that wasn't the only reason.

Still, I exhaled, deciding on enjoying what little ways I could but it seemed that was not on my cards today.

As if on cue, Ellen Cole entered the kitchen at that moment looking like she had a million dollar secret up her sleeves, killing whatever hope of joy was left within me.

"Ruth! My dear, are you okay?" She rushed in, hugging me like a concerned mother-hen. I had to hand it to her though, for a moment, she actually did look as concerned as she acted and even I was taken back by her sudden love for me.

"Sure, I am. Why won't I be, Ellen?" I asked into her shoulder as she kept hugging me. If anyone saw us now, they'd think she was consoling me.

Especially as she asked, "Are you sure, Ruthie? You can let it all out with me. We might have grown up, but I'm still the person you confide in, afterall."

She wasn't. Not even close. But right then didn't seem like the time to point it out, especially since I could barely breath, let alone talk.

"Oh for God's sake Ellen? What's wrong?"

Her concern was making me nervous. For a brief moment, I was actually alarmed that something bad has happened and she was actually worried.

But that was until she pulled back and I sensed a spark of excitement behind her facade.

"I was so worried how you have been coping, Ruth. If you wanna talk to someone, I'm here to listen, okay?"

I had a bad feeling about where this was going, but before I could nip the topic in its bud, my aunt spoke up.

"Would you tell is what happened, Ellen?"

All three of us were standing in the kitchen, but I could've sworn that every head outside turned towards us as they somehow sensed a scandal in the making.

"Oh you didn't tell them? Ruth just resigned from her job today!"

"Tell me to stop, Ruth," he whispered, letting his minty breathe fan over my lips. He sounded desperate.. broken. As it has always been with us, the word 'stop' was on the tip on my tongue, but what came out was entirely different.

Cupping his face between my hands, I swallowed the lump in my throat, unable to make myself fight him - or myself - anymore. It was a losing battle, anyways.

Looking him straight in the eye, I whispered back, "don't stop, Caleb. Not now... Not ever."

Damian hurried back to the castle and made sure that the rest of the nobles were knocked out before he took out a box from his storage and put the bodies inside it.

He then trapped Lex and the box in the room for a while and went to inform Irene that he would be out for a while.

Irene nodded her head knowing that there were a lot of things that Damian was busy with and just let him be without asking him.

Damian then picked up the people and left for Adroelia.

"You sure that you don't want to know anything after the time Irene Belserion turns into a dragon and left to hide...?" asked Lex while drinking some juice along with Damian who was sitting beside him inside the enchantment platform.

"Hmm....well I don't think that knowing about the future would be good.....you know, there will always be some sort of anxiety in making decisions since I wouldn't want to lead towards a bad future by making some choice and it will hinder me a lot.....Since I don't know the story first hand I cannot realize what the correct way would be.....and it's not like you know the whole story word by word.....you two would only be able to give a synopsis or something of sorts, right?"

"...Yeah....I don't remember everything word by word....but just take this advice from me.....in this world....the power of friendship is invincible.....and if somehow you are able to reach the year around 700 or after that...the easiest way to survive is to stick with Fairy tail.....your chances of dying are nearly zero if you do that...though the rest is upto you." said Lex and patted Damian's shoulder.

"... Wasn't that a major spoiler?..." asked Damian.

"Yep, it was.....but you can just take it as an advice that some elder gives you about your career like what company or field you should join or something like that..... something that will lead to a stable and peaceful life...." said Lex and drank from his cup.

Damian just sat there silently for a while and said, "....Fuck it..." and took out a card from his storage.

Lex looked towards the card with curiosity when suddenly he saw Damian making a cut on his finger and widend his eyes in surprise.

Damian then dropped some of his blood on the card and soon after that an image projected over the card.

"....Long time no see.....Mister..." said Damian looking at the figure who sent him to this world.

"...Hmm.....oh, the one who died by the "seed of life". What is it.....you used the one time call feature that I gave you.....is there some problem?"

Damian totally ignored the seed of life parr while also ignoring the curious look from Lex and asked, "You see mister, the one beside me is another reincarnatee from Earth and he was sent here.....let's just say that he got talent advantage off by others and is about to die.....can you like make some arrangements and send him to another world or something?"

".....Did you say another reincarnatee?...." asked Mister and looked towards Lex who was not sure what to say.

"....Boy....were you killed by a truck who crashed through your house...."

Lex nodded his head and said, "Yes, and after that I found myself in this world."

"Haa....so that's where that's where you got sent.....sorry, Truck-kun's tire came off somehow and he crashed into your house by mistake....even so you should have come to me first....but it looks like Truck-kun didn't select that option and you got directly sent...." said Mister with a tired look on his face before turning towards Damian and said, "Thank you for informing me about this.....and I give you one favour you can ask for when you are in need....just drop some blood on the card and I will know."

Mister then became silent as he began to do something only he knows what and after a while he looked back at the two reincarnatees and said, "Alright, preparations done....The moment he is about to be killed I will make sure to pull his soul out and bring it here. See you soon, other reincarnatee and see you later first reincarnatee...." and then the projection disappeared.

Damian and Lex looked at eachother for a while before Damian put the card back in his storage and said, "There, your trip is booked." and gave a sigh.

Lex looked at Damian with a grateful look on his face and said, "Thank you..."

Damian just waved his hand and said, "Let me give you an advice from my side.....that person you just saw might give you some powers using a slot machine or something....you will also get to buy something from the Karma that you have accumulated over the years...I don't know how good your luck is.....but my advice is that you buy a luck enhancer from the Karma store, before pulling the draws....just make sure to read the description or you might get in trouble...."

Lex smirked and said, "Aren't you giving me a spoiler?"

Damian smirked as well and said, "Huh, no no it's a career advice from your senior."

Both of them chuckled for a while and then continued their journey towards Adroelia while talking to each other.

As for another 4 children who understand me, unlike other child, they sometimes listening to my stories, like about the story of 3 stupid pigs dividing themselves instead to work together and beat the wolf. A story of so curious princess as she lose her conciousness because she did what she didnt have to, and more. though I inserted some pun and spice, they really liked it. They even stagedplay some of them and Adults was shock because of these childrens wild imagination. And, thus born the Herra's Business Troupe. Though that was the Story for the Later.

In a present. As I was teaching these 5 childrens, four of them was training for two on two, the fifth child asks.
"Master, Im scared" He said, He was the one eyeing by the Sage. That time, Im sure this guy was the strongest as he was energetic, and had strong physique that was above others. If I compare the word I said to him from my past world. He was like Captain Am*r*ca. A super soldier. He can withstand 4 others by himself sacrificing his body just to beat one. I even called him Ironkid, as his nickname. But he became stagnant because of those event. Though he improved, but not just the same as others. 'Im scared' is what he really feels. I thought I cleansed their worries that time. I thought its all Okay as he didnt improve because thats just life, when youre already at the ceiling, you cannot go beyond unless you destroy that ceiling yourself, but I was wrong. This kid was Scared, and a whole year since then. I thought I can read innet hearts feelings, but I was wrong. This child who was by my side all along was scared, and I didnt even feel it? I didnt know! I was a useless Guardian.

is what I wanted to scream. "Im sorry, I didnt know that you're still scared all along.. Im Sorry".

another 10 years passed by. Like all of those happened an hour ago, the only 5 children who can hear me is now a 15 year old and an independent Kids. Though, many children whom I also cherished with love was still under my care, these 5 Kids was so precious to me. Afterall, as a former human, theres no such thing as an equal love.
"So, you all decided huh-" as I said while feeling dejected, Yuusha who felt it, sneer and said "He he, Master. You said so yourself, pursuing ones dream is one life's goal!", "I said that?" is what I wanted to say but I was happy. All of them have their own dream. Not just them, another 5 or 6 kids closed to their age also come with them. But this time, this 5 was only here infront of me to said their goodbyes. The Chief already found out on a whim so he created a chamber for me, and one need his permission of who is going to enter and exit, But childrens was excemption. a 100 meter chamber just for me. So childrens can also play.
Now, simultanously, these 5 Kids bow to me while crying. As their lips form like a curly noodles. And if you put a bowl, using their tears and snot, that bowl sure became full in less than a minute. These Kids. Why are you crying. I thought this isnt the last time we met? Haaa— Its raining....

Our training continues five days after we started.
My muscle is aching but I still pushing myself until I master a fighting move.
"Good! Keep it up May!"
Today, Lux made me train with a various basic fighting moves where anyone can be mastered in a short amount of time.
Lux's showed me one of his special attack. He calls it "Bend Blade", a sword fighting technique which makes opponent hallucinate that they have seen a bending sword causing the opponent to get confuse in a short moment before they figure the move out.
As my training goes under Lux's education, I easily learned his special attack within a day. The "Bend Blade" doesn't require magic, but, it requires fast movement.
For now, I used the "Swift" crimson stone enchantment to perfectly perform the attack easily. Lux told me that next time, I should do his special attack without using the enchantment.
Another thing, Lux has started to upgrade his Three Word Spell into Four Word Spell. He tried to sharpen the memory of how can a thing be so hot.
In a magical word "Heat" I have said before, Lux thought that he would able to do it because he saw a glimpse of its reaction when he added it on the spell.
From "Photonic-Flash-Strike" into "Photonic-Heat-Flash-Strike".
While Lux is trying to train by himself, Elm was just sleeping upon the tree branch. He told me that he was bored for some reason.
So for motivation, I said "Elm! Why don't you try upgrading you Three Word Spell into Four Word Spell?!" I exclaimed and suggested so he wouldn't be bored.
He responded "Huh? It would take me another three years to upgrade my Three Word Spell."
After he responded, Lux made Elm to go down the tree and said "You idiot, you're a fire mage, and you know how something can be hot. Your memory about it is so sharp since you always felt the hotness in your body every time you cast any fire related spells."
With Elm's magical powers, Lux is certain that Elm will be able to master a Four Word Spell in a short amount of time.
Since I am exhausted after training, I watched these two mages trying to achieve the Four Word Spell.
Right now, I was watching Elm performing an attack while Lux is giving him an instructions so Elm would be able to perform the Four Word Spell.
"Now, cast the first word." Lux is guiding Elm.
"Okay, here we go… FIRE-"
"Then, try to imagine or visualize something that is very hot, you can use your experience every time you cast a fire spell before."
Elm closes his eyes and try to remember and visualize about something very hot.
And when he did…
"HEAT-"
Elm successfully manage to visualize the heat. And because of that, the temperature of flame becomes hotter, and I can feel it in a distance.
"Whoa… Now! Do it!"
"PRESSURED-BLAST"
With the spell has been completed, casted, and released, the flame spread entirely in the surroundings before the attack hit an object.
When the attack was being casted, the flame was very bright, the temperature is very high, and Elm was their showing his face that he is amazed of what he's doing.
When the attack hit an object which is going to be hard rock, the rock shatters in a small pieces and some of the fragments were melting. I used the crimson stone enchantment "Barrier" so it would protect me from debris, while Lux jump very high above for a purpose of safety and see how big the explosion was.
The blast also creates a larger crater than the last one they made during their battle training with Lux.
After everything that happened…
"WHOA… WHOAAAA!!! I DID IT!!!" Elm has gone hyper after he casted a Four Word Spell.
"No way… It's so powerful." I was amazed after that.
"I knew you could do it Elm! You're amazing!"
"Hehe!" Elm was pleased being complimented.
Then all of the sudden, Elm had fainted.
Lux concluded that Four Word Spell requires  a lot of mana to be released.
Now if I imagine I told them some of these words like IGNITE, MAGMA, LAVA, BURN and other fire related words, how would they use it?
"Let's leave him there for now." Lux made Elm to rest with the motivation in his face.
"You look motivated Lux." I said.
"Huh? Really… Well, I'm kind of jealous to be honest." Lux becomes honest.
He was jealous that his friend Elm is now capable of casting a Four Word Spell. This made me decide and struggle if I tell him some Light related words.
"May? What's with that face?"
"Actually, there's something I can tell you. I am not sure if this will work." I was trying to tell him a Light related word while acting that I may not be certain.
"What is it?" Lux was curious.
"Can you try this -SOLAR-"
"Solar? Wait the second…" Lux was saying this while I am thinking that I am being suspicious.
"What?!" Lux was moving his face closer to my face.
"Meaning?!" He asked what's the meaning of "SOLAR".
"Eh?" Then this is what happened after I become presumptuous. But actually Lux was very excited to know the meaning.
"Uhh… ummm it's..." Lux's face remained near to my face and I was having a hard time telling him.
"A light from the Sun!" I exclaimed.
Well, I wish I could tell him more about it but, I am scared that I might get blind.
"A light from the -SUN-?" He was curious again about the word "SUN" not knowing that I did said another unknown word.
"Huh? No… I mean… *Sigh* Guess I have no choice, I mean that one above the sky, your source of light."
"But that's impossible, I can't gather anything from that light."
"Huh?"
So he wasn't able to perform it without gathering magic? All I can think of to make it possible is to tell him the …"------" or "-------".
"You know, just forget it… I don't really know." I lied to him.
"Huh? Well, okay…"
"Can you train me again?" I asked Lux to train me with the sword.
"Oh… I see, let's do it. Now I am going to teach you another fighting move."
Well for now, we're back at training. Lux told me that we will go to the Demon Forest after another five days or until I become much stronger.
"May, can you hand over that Crimson stone?" Lux wanted me to give the crimson stone in a moment.
"Well, sure… But why?" I asked why.
"Well, just a gift for you?" He said a misunderstanding
"Eh? What?!" I was surprised.
"No… I mean, I am just going to add another enchantment. It could be useful when you need it."
Five more days then off we go!
Meanwhile…
The King Phaulius Dives, Elite Mages, and other mages and guards has successfully reached their destination.
After fighting so much monsters, several of them has severely injured. Some other mages had died in such unfortunate occurences.
They may have been able to kill all monsters, however, they have to find where is the stone hidden.
They used the search magic, but, because the power of the stone is powerful, the detection becomes useless since the surroundings is filled with magic.
Therefore, they have to use a shovel, pickaxe and other digging materials.
The King ordered that when they found the stone, they shouldn't touch it and hide it.
"We can use our magic to dig." Julius Mirahelios is suggesting to use magic to make it more efficient.
"When you does that, your magic will get absorbed by the stone before you even completely casted the spell." Fulmen Diaz is saying that it is not possible.
"Oh… You're right." Harold Argen tested and realized.
"Huh? Maybe the stone is over there!" Clair Alian thought that the stone maybe down there in that hole.
The King headed over there after the Elite Mages reported.

The man might get too cautious and Arion and them might have a hard time getting the result that they want.
With the same worry as Zack, Alfonso voice out his thoughts, "We don't want him to be too cautious about us and definitely, we don't want him to cut ties with James right now."
"Except for the part of cutting ties with James, that is what I want that man to do." Arion said with a smirk, then he continued, "Knowing that there is someone onto him, it will cause him to panic. He tries to investigate and couldn't find any clue about us, it will cause him to make a mistake eventually, and that is when we strike."
It's an imperfect and a long shot of a plan, but Arion is willing to take chances on wanting to make this plan work. He truly hopes that there is no need for him and the other make another plan if this current plan doesn't work because time is not on their side at the moment.
Zack and Alfonso are having second thoughts about the plan Arion wants to go through with, but they could only sigh and accept it. There are a lot of things that they need to be done, making sure that the young ones are ready for possible dangers that will come, making sure that their defenses against their strong enemy is strong enough to protect them, and also making sure that they have thorough plan to counterattack.
Just like what they all been saying for a while now, time is not on their side.
"All I can say is that I hope this plan of yours works, Arion because doing this and not have a good result at the end of all this is wasting all of our resources and time," Alfonso said.
After saying that all of them continued to listen to James and the man's conversation.
"Hmmm… I truly want to believe that you are telling me the truth, James because I don't really want to waste my resources on you when you actually lied to me." Having a thorough investigation of what happened to James yesterday will cost him money, and he doesn't like to waste money. It's better for James to tell him the truth now before he finds it himself and wastes his precious money.
"I am telling you the truth. Why on earth did I even bother myself to rush to here just to meet you? As much as it pains me, I am putting my pride aside and ask you to help me get what I want." James frustratedly said. 
His wife already drained most of his energy because of her annoying voice and now, this man in front of her is draining all the energy that is left in him by asking him if he is telling the truth or not. 
"What is it that you really want, James?" The man asked.
"What I want is similar to what you want. You want the Coleman blood to disappear and what I want is to have all of the Coleman assets. With my help, there is a high chance for you to eliminate all the people whose blood is a Coleman. Once you eliminate them, you get what you want, and I get what I want because I will be the only one who's inheriting all the Coleman assets." 
For the first time in James's life, he is actually happy that he did not have a single drop of blood of a Coleman inside his body. If he is actually related to the Colemans by blood, he would have been dead the moment he met this man.
The man chuckled at James��� word. He finds is very funny hearing all that from James' mouth. "You made it sound so easy to eliminate those vile Colemans." Through his connections, he was able to find out about James' real identity and he is actually happy that he is able to use James in any way that he wanted to get his goal done.
"What's that supposed to mean? You're a mafia lord, I'm sure that you have a way to eliminate them without breaking a sweat. The Colemans might be powerful, but they are only powerful because of their riches." 
At this point, the man laughed. Marcus considered James as his dear son, and the man is amused that Marcus didn't share all of the Coleman family secrets to James. 'Oh, Marcus. You're going to make you eldest son furious towards you, once I told him about your family's organization.' The man inwardly said.
James frowned when he heard this annoying laugh coming from the man in front of him. From what he can tell, he did not say a word that is actually funny. "Is there something funny with what I just said?" He asked.
"Oh, please, forgive me. It's just that, I find it very amusing that you, the eldest son of Marcus, have no idea what the Coleman family is really about." The said in a teasing voice and that caught James' whole attention. "The Coleman family is not just about business and being one of the richest families in the whole world."
"You sound like you know a lot of things about the Colemans than me. So what it that you know that I have no clue about?" James is now irritated that this man kept on stopping every word that he is saying. 'Why can't he just say it? He clearly knows that I have no idea and I want to know what it is, so why is he messing around?'
"Yes. I do know a lot about that family more than you. The Coleman family, the main branch to be exact, runs an organization that eliminates specific targets. That organization is somewhat similar to any mafia organization that you know. So, in the end, it belongs to the dark side of the world."
There is no evidence that what this man is saying is the truth or now, but for some reason, he actually thinks that what he said the whole truth.
"I'm quite surprised that you, James Coleman, who belong in the main branch of that family doesn't have any idea about the 'organization.'" It's clear that this man is trying to get in James' nerves, and James knows that, but he has no intention of stopping himself from getting pulled into this man's scheme.
Though it is the feeling of being treated like an outcast by his so-called father once again, for some reason, he is not all the surprise that he wasn't informed about the organization this man is talking about.
"I guess it's all about having the same blood as them all over again," James said with bitterness in his tone. He may be part of the main branch of the family, but he doesn't have the one thing that they all have. Having the same blood flowing through their veins.
The man smirked when he saw the expression James is making. At first, he is not actually sure that James on his side or not, but now that he is seeing the face James is making, he is now sure which side James is on. And he is actually quite pleased about it.
"Well then, I have wasted all the time I have left. I need to go." The man said.
"Wait. You're going? B-But…"
"I believe every word that you said. Also, we can discuss more of our alliance in three days' time." Without waiting for James to say a word, the man left with a satisfied smile on his face.
After listening to all of that, Arion has this unreadable expression plastered on his face. Zack and Alfonso, don't know what to say. The situation between James and the rest of the Coleman family is about family problems. 
"James is being manipulated, but then again, it is his stupidity that is at fault," Arion commented.
"Well, it wasn't pleasant hearing all that, but we did get some information. That mysterious man wants to kill every member of your family and that he is a lord of some mafia organization." Out of all organizations in the world, what Zack hates the most is the mafias, and just thinking about them is making his blood boil.
"Search every notorious and powerful mafia in the whole world. Cross-reference everything that might connect to us." Arion didn't bother making another comment and just left the premises.

The self proclaimed Leader of this 25-man and named himself, Akigaia of Virtuous Adept Guild claimed to finish the Gorilla after our small talk.

I don't know such affiliation but he boldly claimed that they will one day own this City as their Main Base.

Well, not that I doubt he is lying just looking at his honest looking eye but because I never heard such organizations or Group in the first place, I asks if its a group of Locusts as they are full of mystery but then again he returned my question instead: "is that how we called here?"

After a few elipses I shake my head. . .Well, time is of the essence as the group of their enemy is approaching for real so I decided to skip the talk for the later.

By the way, the man with double edged sword and the boy with knife joined their group to kill the Gorilla. I did say that they're only just a burden so better yet I'll handle it myself.

Stopping 10 meters away from this second group of Locusts, they too stopped their course after noticing my unsheathed short weapon.

"What is this? did they hired this NPC?"

I heard it again, the stupid looking alias. Triggered by that word, I sprinted forward.

Ahh!---is what was resounded as they shout in panic. Maybe they never thought an NPC(me) will help another Locusts to destroy them but this is me doing my business. No hard feeling, okay?

Arriving atop of their vanguard, its head are now spinning mid-air and was detached from its body. It then lied on the ground lifeless and are slowly decaying as the ground appears to absorbed it.

Yep, dead alright. That's how peopled died in this world. In my younger days, I heard that there are many people living and dying in this world so the Administrator of the World created a rule ages ago that when a person died, their mortal body will absorbed by an earth as a fertilizer. But the monsters on the contrary--because they have many useful traits for humans, they didn't decay. they did over time but not how human dies.

landing at the second person thereafter, I slit its throat along with the person beside it, I don't care if it is a man or a woman, my job is to kill.

Successively, trying to catch me with their weapon, I slid below the remaining survivor's lower body and cut their thinnest limbs one by one, from arm to wrist and from ankle and towards their throat. According to my experience, if you can't kill an enemy in one inflict of damage, kill them moderately. Likewise, I cut some limbs to keep them at bay and kill them for real later.

After the death of 6 to 7 person, the group dispersed after one of them commanded; trying another approach to catch me.

The Locusts plan changes overtime as they did their to bested, indeed they should not be compare to a normal monsters. I should say that they're an aberrant instead of me.

Sadly, they are no match against me.

Sword? Spear? Long reach? Nope, you can't defeat me if you can't touch even a fiber of my clothe. 

After a couple of minutes, I killed another 10. Others distanced themselves from mine as they realize I'm an enemy they can't beat.

"Now what? Still have balls to attack me?" I declare whilst made them stepped back.

But not long after, I heard another battle cry.

Wow! one after another? I have to charged that boy later for each head I took down. Yep, that will do.

I couldn't help but smile thinking the compensation I could get. fufufu, I can't wait.

And because I was too adrift from that thought, I never realize that my adversary dispersed and run for their lives. I see, that newly arriving Locusts is another group of enemy. Third group eh? To think Locusts don't know the word unity even though they could assemble high numbers.

Thinking so, I didn't wait for their arrival and instead charged forward by meeting them head-on.

Nfufufu, my blood boils just thinking those.

One Zero POV

"Huh?! Revo Group are dispersing and was diminished by this degree? Did the Virtuous Adept overwhelmed them? Men! continue marching forward! this is out chance!"

"Ah leader! Someone is charging towards us!"

"An NPC? A Quest Giver!?"

As I following this group, I heard the commotion from the forefront. What are they talking into? They are very weird ever since arriving in our village and now its getting weirder just by blending in with them. I shouldn't be affiliated with this Locusts in the future after all.

Now that I realize, why am I doing this in the first place? I only join thinking that I met----

Finding out that the said "NPC" are now inside this group's flank, I can't think of what is going to do from. Just parrying its attack with my weapon, it stopped me from thinking adrift and made me almost stumble.

I can't get to take a look at its face. And moments later I realize that this enemy of them is formidable. Using its small physique to attack and hide inside the flank and again killing them one by one. It almost got me off guard but I parried its attack again who wanted to cut my throat or limb.

What the hell? Its too fast! If this continues, I might die.

"Huh!?" I was dumbfounded hearing the voice I wanted to hear since leaving the village. But then again it vanished after attacking me and thereafter another person died near me.

This is surreal, the enemy's position is everywhere. I can't keep it track because of this cramped place, after thinking so, I forced myself to the side and now seen every Locusts eyes along. Theirs is full of disbelief and fear.

CLANG!

Again, I parried its attack and this time, I exited from the Locusts formation to get the sight of our adversary--Nah, I just wanted to make sure as Its move and voice is kind of familiar.

"Ah what the hell!? he really!?"

This time, that word was skipped out from my own mouth. I only see it flickered body and its silhouette, but this time for sure I know who it was: "Oi, Zero One! What are you doing!? ack---!"

I parried his attack ylagain as my head is almost cut off from my neck when that rusty knife of his is almost skip out of my sight. I can't help but to produce that yelp.

Damn it! I knew you already realize it was me! I'm your comrade, alright! Don't just kill me just because I'm in an enemy flank!

"Ow its you?"

Damn, is that how you greet your companions now!? I couldn't help but to almost cursed out. I'm sure he can kill me if he wanted to, and if ever a word he don't like to hear will try to skip out of my mouth, I'm dead for sure, so I didn't said anything and instead parried his every attack.

I waited and waited until the two of us left. Of course I didn't skip from his onslaught ever since.

"You still alive? Wow!"

Wow your ass! Is what I wanted to say. 

Yes, indeed he is only teasing me but is that how you tease a comrade?!

Thereafter he followed: "Just kidding, haha I'm too absorb from the thought of 'compensating' my work so maybe killing a strong companion will give me another add points"

What the hell!? What are you talking about?! Did you really thinking of killing me!? Did Locusts really infected you!?

I restrained my mouth, I don't know what he's thinking as of this moment, really. This dude here is a moody bastard, he won't hesitate to kill anyone that pisses him off. Me---or rather we're just lucky enough he only leave the village and restrained himself from killing Locusts he encounters. Maybe Zero Three really tamed him according to my source.

"Done already?" Taking his eyes away from me, he looked towards elsewhere.

I at the same time saw a group of people walking towards us. Most has their equipped weapon while looking at me and Zero One with a bit of hostility.

"Yes Boss we're done, thank you very much I owe you big for this one"

Huh!? Boss?! Did this boy with girlish voice called this dude a Boss? He seemed fluttered though, what's this scene unfolding in front of my eyes!? Did he helped a Locusts to beat a Locusts?

"You really did owe me" as he raised his hands and formed fists thrice and 6 fingers successively. That's how you said "36", so don't tell me you killed a total of 36 Locusts!?

"He he of course, We'll pay you---by the way Boss, that is?" This time, the boy with girlish voice pointed at me.

"Ah, this is an acquaintance of mine, We'll talk one on one right now", he slowly dragged me away after that word

"I-I see, so lets met at Tea Shop later? I didn't bring any money right now though"

"Yes, but remember your words or you know what will happen"

"Yes Boss, again, thank you very much for helping us, and for trusting me, I'll never break it, see you later then"

"Uhm goodbye"

Ending the conversation, the Locusts with girlish voice and maybe the leader of that group--waved his hand as this man waved back too. Of course its comrades followed suit as they leave us alone in this field. 

Seriously, I'm speechless. This guy changed very different from what I remembered.

What will happen when one of the Quest Giver who have the biggest influence in the Game, go astray?

Let the Quest begins as this Runaway NPC unknowingly stir trouble after trouble to a world, who only seek is a peaceful life.

Sadly, his enemy is formidable beings than what he imagined...
