Ren Suo turned on his computer and waited for more than a minute before a message from 360 appeared, saying: "Current boot time: 10 seconds. Your boot-up speed is faster than 99% of the country's computers!" Unhurriedly, Ren Suo opened a Word document.
Another 10 seconds passed before the 2003 version of Word launched.
At this point, the capabilities of the computer Ren Suo used must be obvious: it was a faded beauty. Nonetheless, the computer was able to meet Ren Suo's daily needs, and he was still able to watch videos and write documents with the computer without much problem.
However, ever since Ren Suo started playing on the Mini Worlds Gaming Console and experienced the advanced technological capabilities of the game console, he started having second thoughts about keeping his computer. His current computer was old and did not have much 'commemorative' value. Furthermore, while new technology products serve the same functional purposes as before, their appearance would still become more appealing and striking.

After hesitating for a short while, Ren Suo continued writing:

As Ren Suo had some accumulated merits, not only did the system show the highest possible rewards he could obtain for each game (this was not shown for the free game of the previous month), there was also a prompt which said: 
"Upon completion of any free chapter from a game, the required merits to acquire the game would reduce accordingly."
"The total merits required to acquire the game can be found through the search function of the World Shop."
For example, Ren Suo had completed the chapter [The Bloody Banquet] from the game [The Hitman], and thus the number of merits he needed to acquire the game would be reduced if he searched for it in the World Shop. However, he did not know how much fewer merits would be required for he was not about to spend 10 merits to perform a search to satisfy his curiosity.
[Over My Dead Body: Chapter 1] was an economic simulation game. The synopsis read: "Giving the player the opportunity to experience what it is like to operate a family business! In a world of natural and man-made disasters, in a world of ghosts and spirits, in a world full of crises and calamities, the player needs to protect and save his own family in the complex world. The player would also need to be courageous and brave enough to break free from the cursed spell of life and other external vulnerabilities."
[Lurk: Chapter 1 was an interactive narrative game. The synopsis read: "With a stone-cold heart, yet bustling with activity, would you choose to sacrifice yourself wholeheartedly for the better future of your nation, even if it means you would fall into the bottomless hell pit of lies? Or would you choose to be indecisive for your own glory and honor?"
[Massacre in the Underground City] was a card-based action and adventure game. The synopsis read: "The rotten culture of the abyss hidden within the underground city has infiltrated the world. To save yourself, you have to emerge from the corrupt metropolis, travel through the darkest of caverns and leave the horrid underground city by fighting against the strongest enemies at the heart of the deep abyss in a battle of life and death."
Ren Suo lifted his hands off the keyboard and looked at what he had just typed as he contemplated carefully over his options. 
All of the three free games for the month seemed fun. 
But Ren Suo could only choose one out of the three to play. 
It was not impossible, however, to play all three of them. The system prompted that as the player's level increased, the number of free games each month would increase, and the player would also be able to choose more games to play each month. However, Ren Suo still had no idea how he could increase his player level, so he was left with no choice but to select only one out of the available three. 
Furthermore, there was no longer any discount for the purchase of games. If Ren Suo did not choose to play any of the free games, he would not be able to play any. With his very limited amount of accumulated merits, he would definitely not be able to afford anything after spending some merits to search for games in the store. 
"What should I do?" Ren Suo pondered. 
If he only considered the rewarded merits from each game, it was obvious that he should choose to play [Lurk]. The short-term benefit was the earned merits, while the long-term benefit would be the discounted game cost. Unfortunately, the specialized reward [The Art of Deceiving] did not seem to be functionally useful. 
The next best option would be [Over My Dead Body]. Although the number of rewarded merits was fewer than that of [Lurk], the specialized reward [Heart-strengthening] seemed to be useful, but Ren Suo had no idea what the ability entailed just yet. 
The last option would be "Massacre in the Underground City", with the lowest amount of merits rewarded. Both the short-term and long-term benefits were unattractive. Furthermore, no specialized rewards would be given. Unless he was left with no other choice like before when he only had the option to play [The Hitman: The Bloody Banquet], Ren Suo would definitely not pick this option. 
However, if he took the game content into consideration, the choice would not be as straightforward. 
[The Hitman: The Bloody Banquet] had a difficulty rating of 1 star. Similarly, [A Strong Warrior Ascends 10,000 Meters] had a difficulty rating of 1 star. 
Without a doubt, both of these games were two of the easiest games available, but were they that easy? The former required some amount of brainwork to complete, while the latter required Ren Suo to stay up for a few nights to complete. 
Even though Ren Suo had not owned any other game console prior to the Mini Worlds Gaming Console, but he was still a frequent visitor to cybercafes. While he could not be considered a legendary player in the online games, he was not a clumsy amateur either. He was not one to neglect his studies and ruin his future, so he always played with moderation. Nonetheless, Ren Suo was essentially one of the best few amongst people of his age. Many of his schoolmates would flock to team up with him to play FPS and MOBA games. 
Ren Suo was essentially a decent gamer, but even the 1-starred games proved to be a significant challenge to him. How difficult would the 2-starred games be?
After some time, Ren Suo figured that he would not choose a game just yet. He had just returned home after a long ride anyway and instead decided to take a rest first. 
CTRL + A, Delete. 
Ren Suo deleted everything that he had just typed and went for a shower. He heated up the yee-fu noodles with beef briskets in fried bean sauce which had already turned cold, then held it in his hand as he returned to his computer. He navigated to the video site GiliGili, preparing to watch videos as he ate his...supper?
However, as soon as the website loaded, he spat out a mouthful of the simmering hot noodles, which covered his screen and keyboard with a brown layer of a hot, gluey mix of noodles and fried bean sauce. 
At the top of the webpage was a horizontal banner that usually showed seasonal news and the website's large-scale promotion events. Yet, it was now replaced with six large words in a black font over a white background:
"A Strong Warrior Ascends 10,000 Meters!"
Ren Suo hurriedly cleaned up the mess on his computer, then took a deep breath before clicking into the page, to realize that it was a...what on earth?!
Large-scale serial documentary film?!
There were a total of 55P (number of separated parts to the entire video), and apart from the last two Ps, they were all 120-minute-long videos! That was a total of 4 and a half days long!
Each individual P had its own title stating the corresponding timestamps. For example, the first few Ps had the titles "3 April 00:00~02:00", "3 April 02:00~04:00", "3 April 04:00~06:00", while 54P was titled "8 April 10:00~11:43".
The last P was a "Highlights" video, which seemed to be a cut and combined version a staggering 200 minutes long! That was almost three hours!
3rd of April...?
Ren Suo recalled that that was the first day of his training camp. 
However, that was also the day immediately after he uploaded his score for the game!

From what Ian recalled, it was not possible to transmit the gameplay of the game through a monitor in real-time. The reason was that inside the game; the time ratio was one to six. One hour of real-time was six hours in the game.

Ian quickly calculated in his head. "So, for one day to pass in Parallel Realm time, then four hours must pass in real-time. That means, being in the game for six days is equivalent to one day in real-time..." And because of that, it was impossible to watch it live. The only action was to record it for later.

Ian had no clue how the company, Eleven Hands, achieved something like that. It was a deeply kept secret that only a handful of people knew.
 
Anyway, due to the relative time difference, it was not possible to see what Willer was currently doing visually.

However, there was another way to see what was going on.

Ian hopped on Willer's computer.

"I heard it was possible to see the stats of the person when they are playing. Let me see..." Ian went to a website managed by the Eleven Hands to look for his brother's character. It even shows the ranking of all the players.

Since there were millions upon millions of players playing Parallel Realm, it was not viable to scroll down the list to find what he was looking for.

"If I recall, he always used 'ZeroEyesPro' as his in-game name." He remembered from playing massive multi-player games with him.
 
He typed it in the search bar and found one match.

There was an icon next to the name to show that would reveal more information about the person he was looking for. Once clicked, a simple text appeared on the monitor.

Seeing that many of the information was hidden, Ian was not surprised. Ever since Willer started hacking, he built a habit of making any information private in case someone wanted to report him. It was a paranoia he brought onto himself.

He started at the name that Willer chose.

"Wilan ZeroProEyes… I believe the first couple of weeks after launch, players had a first and last name. The reason was that it was cringey to call some people by their weird avatar names all the time. So naturally, over time, the first name was added to keep it simple. "

When he thought about having to call his brother, ZeroProEyes, all the time in public, he would have felt slightly embarrassed by it.

The next thing he saw was the Grade Base.

"I do not much about Grade Base..." Ian tried to recall any information about it, but he could not. Instead, he will move on and research on it later or ask his brother.

For the rest of the information, there were all hidden.

Journal was something to use for players to keep track of their adventure. He heard journals of top tier players can be bought for a high price, but no such case had happened yet, or at least in public. To keep their ranking, many players will prefer to hide it than to sell it since there were perks for being ranked high.

"I guess there was not much to see. Willer hid much of his information… He is probably trying to avoid standing out as he finds ways to exploit the game." 

Even his ranking was hidden, but Ian believed it was near the bottom of the list.

Ian sighed seeing that Willer was trying to ruin a good game, but since Willer was his brother, he was not going to report him. Besides,  he had no proof he was hacking.

Honestly, Ian had never heard of an exploit being found before. If there was ever one, someone would have noticed it by now. And Ian was sure that the developers watched very closely for anything shady going on in their game.

As the minimizing reaction time, Ian did not think of it as an exploit. It was more like buying a better graphic card for a higher frame rate. Though it was still a grey area since it could be considered in unauthorized modification, and could lead to a ban.

After seeing as much as he can, Ian gave up seeing what Willer was doing inside the game. Since stats were being updated in real-time, it was possible to guess what a player was focusing on, but with his brother's cautious personality, there was not much to see.

"Knowing my brother, he will pull an all-nighter playing this game."

So Ian did something else besides sitting on the computer. Since it had been a while when he last exercise, Ian changed his clothes to go for a jog.

Ignoring the doctor's advice to keep any movements as little as possible, he thought a short jog would not hurt.

As he ran under the night sky, his mind reminisced about his past life.

Ian was once a pro gamer renowned throughout the entire world. Eventually, people called him Three Second Sight because they believed he could see into the future. But Ian rejected such an embarrassing title publicly.

Instead of supernatural power, it was thanks to his quick reflexes and sharp wits he honed playing with his hacker brother ever since he was young. With patience and his competitive personality, Ian persistently practiced to the point of fatigue. He remembered the many hours he had to put in just to beat Willer once in a first-person shooting game. Willer was using an aim-hack which made him never missed a shot. To overcome such disadvantages, Ian had to outsmart and outplay him. Not only that, but he also had to get the first shot with pinpoint accuracy before Willer did. And once he did, Willer would devise new ways to overcome it, of course, by learning new ways to hack the game. But Ian overcame many of the challenges brought to him by his brother.

The cycle continued for many games over the years until Ian could put many pro gamers to shame.

"I wonder how many times I lost to Willer ever since he discovered that he could hack to gain an advantage. But now that I think about it, he never gave himself enough of an advantage to win one hundred percent of the time. It was just enough so I could at least barely win." He thought.

As the night drew darker, Ian breathed more heavily with each step. With his legs beginning to cramp up and lungs burning, he took a break on a bench in a small park.

"I am really out of shape…" He panted. Even though his lungs and legs were burning, he wanted to continue. However, Ian knew that he reached his limit. If he continued running, the object inside his brain would move and make things worst. It was hard enough to maintain a posture, so he does not move his head around too much. But to do so under stress, he was not confident.

Ian sighed as he could not do the things he wanted to. 

"I should not be running anymore..." He told himself with regret. Walking back to his house, Ian contemplated about getting the surgery to remove the object in his brain. 

It was more than his trauma from the accident that prevented him from getting the operation. But also, he had no more money after all the therapies, drugs, and the services from the hospital he had stayed at. Being there for half a year, it had drained him of all the savings that he earned from playing games.

At this point, Yumi was bluffing. He never had any friends in his school, due to his pathetic reputation. He was rejected twice and many people were talking behind his back, so it was pretty impossible to make friends. Who would want to be friends with such a zero? 

Well... Although he didn't know how to make friends in real life, he had tons of online friends. The Internet was a great world. No one knew how much of a bad reputation you had, and they only judged people based on their actions, personality, and in-game abilities. 

Yumi was a great gamer. He played many games, be it MMORPG or First Person Shooters. He was known for his gaming skills across Japan in many games, yet due to his toxic nature of blaming his teammates and complaining about bugs and glitches in games, he wasn't allowed to become pro and play competitively. 

This broke the hearts of some of his admirers and followers. He was popular online, yet he didn't have a single friend in real life. 
Maybe he should change in this world. 

The naive Yunyun believed him immediately.
"R-Realy? I-Is there a way I can make friends instantly?"

'She believed it!'

*Cough* "O-Of course there is! T-There are tons of ways to make friends. I have plenty of friends from different countries! If you want to, I can give you some...tips and tricks!"

Yunyun nodded as if her life depended on it.
"Yes! Please!"

Seeing how energetic she became, Yumi tried to think of some tips.
'Easier said than done...Um...I am pretty sure I read a tutorial about that somewhere on the internet...'

"Um...Yes! The first thing you need to do, if you want to make friends...is to...um...get to know each other better! That way, you can understand each other better, and you will find topics to talk about. Finally, if you find out that the other person likes something you do, then tell him and you can discuss that!"

Yunyun's smile grew wider and she took out something that looked like a diary and a pen. 
"That's useful! Thank you so much! Do you have any other tips?"

"Ehm...Are you writing them down?"

"Yes! I've never met anyone who knew how to make friends. All of them said that it just comes naturally. I need a better description to understand stuff like that, as I am not the brightest person around. The things you were talking about were really profound!"

'Profound? That was just some blabber and gibberish from a website I used to visit when I didn't know how to socialize myself...I see now...we are pretty similar...'

"Um...Should we start then?" Yunyun asked.

"Start...with what?" 
Yumi felt as if he made a mistake. He shouldn't have told her that.

"I-I really wish to have a friend...S-So...Since you were kind to me, and you already have tons of friends...I figured that you might be my first one...H-How about it?" The look on her face was a mix of anticipation and sadness. 

While Yumi didn't trust women, that didn't mean he wasn't attracted to them...He just didn't want to enter a relationship with them, as he wouldn't want to be betrayed again, but making a friend...was possible, right? If a friend betrayed you, it wouldn't hurt as much, right?
His online friends never betrayed him, yet making a real-life friend was a hard choice. He didn't know how it felt to be betrayed by a friend, as he never experienced it, but he was sure it might happen at some point in his life.

'Is making a friend...a bad choice? Or should I...go for it? But it's a girl...'
While Yumi was seriously thinking about his choice, Yunyun was patiently waiting. She didn't want to rush him, as he might be her first friend ever.

Back at the Crimson Academy, she thought she found friends, yet her rival, Megumin, told her that they were only using her to get the things they want. She also told her, that it wasn't a true friendship and that she shouldn't listen to them. In the end, Yunyun did as she was told, and didn't talk to them anymore, yet she was still lonely. 
'Is it even possible to be friends with someone?'

Animals hated her, people avoided her, even plants ran away from her when she tried to talk to them about her problems. She had to play games for two players all by herself. Her birthdays were always lonely, not even her parents were at her birthday party, as they were the leaders of the village, and they had plenty of work on their hands.

She spent her childhood in solitude. The only person she ever talked to, was Megumin. She tried getting closer to her, by telling her that she wanted to be her rival. She even lost on purpose a few times, so that she could talk to her a bit longer. 

As a last resort, she decided to summon a demon. She thought that if no one will be her friend, then a demon surely will. They got along pretty well, yet she couldn't call him a friend because even the demon didn't want to be her friend. He just called her the summoner.

The demon was eventually killed by her clansmen and she was alone again. That's when she heard that her rival, Megumin, decided to leave the village to spread her fame across the world, as the strongest magician.

She saw this as an opportunity and went on an adventure. She also saw this as a perfect way to get more friends, as people inside of her village didn't really like her all that much. She hoped that she would have more chances of getting friends outside of the village.

It took her two weeks to get into the beginner's city of Axel, usually, the adventure wouldn't be that long, as you only needed to travel for two days at most, but she was a clumsy person and she misread the map. Once she got into the town, she searched everywhere, yet she couldn't find her rival... She was searching for her everywhere. After a week of trying, she tried to expand her searching area to nearby forests and villages, as Megumin was from a really poor family, and she might have slept somewhere outside.

Today was her last attempt and she met this man, she wasn't sure what to think of him, yet she was happy that he wanted to tell her the secret about friendship. And seeing him hesitate, whether he should be her friend or not, really pained her heart.
'P-Please...'

"Well...Fine. I don't mind being your friend. But we need to establish some rules, okay? Just a bunch of friendly rules."

"R-Really?! A-Are you really sure?!"

Yumi sighed and replied, "Yes...Don't worry. As for the rules, I will tell you about them once I...once WE explore this cave, okay? But we need to be careful because something dangerous might lurk in this cave."

Yunyun was overjoyed and happily walked inside the dark cave.
"You can count on me! I will protect you from anything... My friend!"
She looked towards the dark passage and chanted, "Fireball!"

A giant ball of fire shot towards the ground, it spread towards the sides of the cave wall and illuminated the dark place.
Yumi watched all of it in amazement.
'Magic sure is amazing...'

Yunyun turned around and smiled.
"We don't need torches, now."

Seeing her smile, Yumi didn't know what to think.
'This girl...honestly...' he nodded as a response and both of them entered the deeper parts of the cave.

It didn't take them long before they found a dead end.
Yumi was a bit disappointed as he expected to find some kind of treasure inside, but Yunyun was happy, as the moment they will leave the cave, her new friend will give her tips and tactics about friend-making.

Just as they were about to leave, Yumi noticed that there was something wrong with the wall. The wall was colored differently from other walls in the cave.
'It's suspicious.'

He pointed towards the wall and said,
"Yunyun...do you have some kind of magic that could destroy that grey wall?"

Yunyun nodded and replied, "I can cast plenty of spells, but using magic inside of the cave is a bit reckless...The ceiling might collapse on us."

'Oi...Didn't she just use a Fireball?'

"I see...well...I am pretty certain that this wall in front of us, is fake. There has to be some kind of mechanism that would allow us to pass. Try to look around."

"I understand! Leave it to me!"
Both of them were touching the walls of the cave in hopes of finding some kind of switch but in the end, they couldn't find anything. They were just wet and cold walls of the cave.

"Jeez...this is hopeless...Yunyun, you found anything?"

"No. I am sorry I wasn't of use."

"It's fine. you don't need to apologize so much. Hm? What's that?"
Yumi spotted a black button in the corner of the cave. He clicked on it and the fake wall slowly inserted itself into the ground, revealing a hidden entrance.

"You did it, Yumi-san!"

Yumi smiled and entered the hidden passage. The moment he stepped inside, he saw the leftover bones of a human, together with a diary that was lying on the ground next to him.

He went forward and examined the body.
'That's an actual skeleton... This was a person who once lived...Damn, skeletons and bones in games are funny but seeing it in real life isn't all that pleasant. How is Yunyun faring.' He looked at her face and noticed that she was relatively calm.

"Um...Yunyun...Are you okay with this?"

Yunyun tilted her head out of confusion.
"Why wouldn't I be? Oh, because of the bones? Well, I've seen worse things. Seeing a dead person only comes as normal to me. This is a dangerous world and people die all the time. But you are a traveler, right? Have you ever seen the leftovers of a person before?"

Yumi shook his head and replied, "Negative. It's a shock, that's for sure."
He picked up the skull of the man and lifted it up. "So this is how I might end up if I am not careful enough, huh."

Yunyun revealed a lovely smile.
She patted him on the back and replied, "Don't worry! I will protect my friend! You can count on me!"

'This girl...Honestly...You are making it too hard for me. If those terrible things didn't happen to me in the past, my heart might have moved just now...'
Yumi put the skull back at its place and picked up the diary.

Yumi read on further and the more he read the diary, the more his expression changed.

[My name is Ryouma Raikiri! I've been summoned from Japan by this elegant, beautiful and gracious goddess called Aqua-sama. She was simply too divine and kind.]

'OK! Let me stop it here! Elegant? Divine and Kind? Is there another goddess called Aqua? Is this guy blind? How is that woman anything he just described?!'

Yunyun saw his reaction and was concerned about him.
"Is everything alright, Yumi-san? You don't have to force yourself to stay in one room with a deceased person, it's fine. We can leave!"

"No! I am completely fine. Just let me finish this real quick, okay?"
He brought his attention back to the diary and read.
[This is my last message. Unfortunately, I won't be alive by the time you find this diary. I've been attacked by Alexei Barnes Alderp, the current lord of the Alderp family because I found out a terrible secret about this world and I wish to share it with you. From what I've learned, there isn't only one Demon King, but there is a lot of them! About fifty. ]

'FIFTY?! I was told that I need to defeat one Demon King in order to get transported into this world...How am I going to kill fifty of them?!'

[The last thing I wish to say, is that Alexei Barnes Alderp has a high-level demon in his basement. I almost didn't manage to survive his attack. As a result, I lost my arm but luckily, it wasn't my dominant arm so I could still leave you this message. 'Ah, I am done reading.' Yumi tore the diary in two and threw it away.

It felt so sudden, I was transported into another world. Just like in the anime I used to watch. 

I thought that my life would be more peaceful, but I was wrong. 

"Fufufu...Fufufu...Hahahaha... I am sorry, I can't...I've never seen someone die such a bizzare and pathetic way! Hahaha!"

I really feel like beating this goddess up...

Liam looked at Hanz. He was another good looking NPC. With his pale turquoise medium length hair, pale blue eyes and soft pink lips.

"What are you looking at?"

"Nothing. Just admiring how good looking you are."

"Thanks, man. So are you hungry?"

"No."

"You sure?"

"Yes."

"Good."

Hanz happily ate his fish. Hanz also studied Liam for awhile. 'He looked weak, but has a potential.' was Hanz honest thought. 'He might be the one to succeed me.'

Hanz dusted himself and looked at Liam. He was deep in thought that he forgot that he was staring at Liam. "Good. Are you a patient person?"

"Yes."

"Man of few words, I like that. So what do you want to be?"

"I want to be a swordsman? I want to go to an adventure and have fun while growing stronger."

"Hmm, alright. I've decided. I'll train you."

[Hanz Selfish Quest]

But it would only be a truly success if the director approved it. Rain could see the excitement these staffs were having.

Liam wanted to find a guild that wasn't aggressive like those top guilds. There were currently 20 official guilds but most of the top guilds from other games weren't registered yet.

Liam forgot to ask if there was a guild available on Oz Town. Well, unfortunately, he might not come back there after a year.

Liam surfed the website for other news about the game but there was nothing he learnt from the players posts. It was all about their experience and how the skill lacked information such as Mana used, Cooldown, and etc.

He agreed about those complaints but that was also the uniqueness of the game. They let the players explore it themselves. Activating a skill was also dependent on the user. Exploiting weakness, accuracy, even the most well known normal attack needed their own skill to land an attack.

Liam snickered because of his thoughts. Liam could only sped up because he almost lost Hanz when he was at his own world.

POSITIVE REVIEW :

Hands down the best MMO story I've ever read. What makes The King's Avatar stand out are:

1) the level of realism - this isn't a vague fantasy genre meshed into the form of an MMO, these are real people playing a game, and the blend of RL and game life, the player interactions, World Chat, etc. really bring out the flavor of watching an MMO.

2) The insane level of detail - this author is amazing. No other story has this much focus on the reality of pro gaming, which includes physical skill, game knowledge, the ability to strategize and use that knowledge to their fullest advantage... Either the author himself used to be a pro gamer or he has top tier researching skills, but as a casual MMO player I recognize that even imagining these situations goes way above my grade. Recognizing an actual skill gap between myself and the MC - and not just "the MC picked up some magic stuff and became amazing through vaguely described training" - stirs up a ton of admiration not only for the characters but for the author as well.

3) The amazing, lively characters. All of them have enormous personalities. There are a ton of side characters that are hilarious or awesome and that I want to see more of because I know they'll be fun to read about. This is the opposite of most LNs who have disposable, flat, just-there-to-be-puppet side characters, or LNs who have side characters with tons of potential but are never developed (CD, I love ya but you toss out amazing side characters like tissues...) My favorite part of having all these great characters is the banter and the trash talk, especially in the later chapters when the big fish come out. Even the annoying characters have their charm...

4) Finally, it has to be said that the MC himself is pretty great. He's definitely more mature and interesting than most protagonists I've read about. It's a bit hard to describe him, but the way he deals with Sleeping Moon in the early chapters is one of the greatest marks of his personality. If the character were more immature he'd be focused on getting revenge and "saving face"; if the character were colder he'd just ignore everything and go solo lone wolf. But Ye Xiu? He's self-assured, but not arrogant - forgiving because he's there's no point in getting riled - but canny enough to calmly wring out advantages for himself even in seemingly bad situations. The main point is that things don't just fall in Ye Xiu's lap, he works for it and makes things happen the way he wants through experience, knowledge, or just plain old haggling. Of course, the universe doesn't revolve around his decisions, so it's always fun to read about how he has to tunnel his way through the ever-growing mess he's accidentally created for himself.
If you enjoy the concept of MMOs, gaming, and/or esports, I definitely recommend this!

CRITICAL REVIEW :

The main thing that made me stop reading this is the lack of knowledge of the author in terms of gaming, which resulted in unrealistic and extremely shallow game mechanics and/or events.
For 3 slightly more detailed reason why:
First off, this was supposed to be a depiction of the highest of level of gameplay from a pro-gamer, but I didn't see any semblance of it. Most stuff shown here were mainly unrealistic, and then common to slightly uncommon strategies, techniques, and game-mechanics. The author's portrayal of the MC feels like it's coming from a "fan" point of view, not from an actual high level narration/analyst/player. For instance, let's say you ask a boxing fan and a boxing analyst about a certain boxer about what makes him good. Most fans will answer you with "he's so good because he's fast, he's super strong, and muscular", because of the lack in technical knowledge, in comparison to the analyst who will show you stats, mathmatical stueff, physiological stuff, psychological stuff, and so on. This is what it is like to me when I read this novel, it feels like it was written by a "fan-knowledge" level person, which leads me to my next point, the authors lack of knowledge.
The author doesn't seem to know how things work, and generally how games work. One thing I can think on the top of my head is the APM. The MC has unrealistically high APM (3 digits, can't remember exactly), which is only obtainable from either hacking the game, or extremely unrealistic super human level of animation canceling (provided that the game can even perform such mechanics, because you know the author didn't mention it). I don't even know why the author mentioned APM in a first / third person almost shooter type of game in the first place. These sort of stuff breaks the immersion for me. I always notice these small flaws, which makes me skip chapters just to check if the author address them, but ultimately left disappointed because of the lack of explanation, not even a mention about these certain mechanics.
Lastly, too much grinding. People keep saying that MMORPGs are supposed to be grindy, but the thing is, we are not playing a game, we are reading a novel. Sure, you can grind all you want in a game, and it can give you satisfaction once you achieve desired level, or gained your desired item. But when reading a novel, all the stuff about grinding gives no satisfaction at all. All the million chapters spent on grinding could have been spent on world building, character development, plot twists, and so on. But no, half or a little bit more than half of the novel used for grinding. You must be really bored if you really enjoy reading all of them.

Chapter 5: The uglier it gets


                                  Next morning Josh wakes up all grumpy and frustrated at early morning of five, still angry on his friend for not helping him but right now it was not the time to focus upon and he had better things to do. He got up from his bed fixing his hair and went to the bathroom to get fresh. He later polished his sword though he kept it a secret, he later went for a jog early morning through the city while everyone were still sleeping as he had got used to his master's teachings and went to the same old building where he began his training and practiced there for a while as he had holiday at his college. 
Meanwhile at Austin's place....
                              Austin muttering to himself, "That fool Josh, he is taking a big risk without even thinking about his family, I wish I had idea the idea that he would do something like this, some friend I am" Austin sighed and got up. Unlike Josh, he had a habit of getting up early as he believes it's good for the body, mind and soul. As he had holiday at college he decided to do some sneak peek on some people's computer as he does anyways but for a short time only but today he had a lot of time to kill and his parents were still sleeping. Austin's room was like any geeky nerd, posters of video games, actions figures, comic books and what not could found at his room. He got fresh and opened his laptop and started his adventure of hacking. He hacked and into the local network and located computers that were active in 50m of range. There were not so many as it was still early morning and the ones he hacked didn't contained much interesting stuff so he increased the local radius to whole city and there were only 6 active PC. He opened the first one which was of a police officer, he started reading the case files of different criminals that were inside his computer but he soon got bored and checked some other computers and only to find uninteresting stuff so he decided to close it just right then one more computer popped and he opened it. At first glance it was like any other normal computer, as he was scrolling down the files he found a locked file which caught his attention, he opened it only to find that it was password protected, so he tried brute forcing his way in but it was proved fruitless so he thought of cracking the password. With some applications and his good hacking techniques he finally cracked the file but it only had two things, both of them were in notepad format. He opened the first file, it had a link to a website, he copied the link and the second one had a password, it was "Alpha omega_237". He opened chrome and opened the link, a black screen appeared with a log in and password. The log in was already filled and he typed the password. After what he saw took the life out of his soul and after he continued to explore he began sweating and sweating and that's when he realised, "Holy shit, I was fool myself and all of this was happening right under our nose and no one never realised it, Josh can't do this all by himself and I was letting him enter this hellhole without any support, MAN!!!!!!".  He quickly took his laptop and ran straight out of his house towards Josh's house. 
                                     He knocked the front door rapidly and Josh's mother opens the door, "Hey Austin, funny for you to come by, and why are you sweating this much and you looked scared, anything happened?" 
"Hello Mrs Anderson, look I am in lot of hurry, is Josh around I need to talk to him it's very urgent" Josh comes back from behind after his training and puts his arm on his shoulder. He gets frightened and shouts, "Don't scare me like that idiot"
"What happened, you look very scared"
"Please listen to me it's very urgent and you need to hear it"
"But made you change your mind"
"Just come, PLEASE!!!!"
Both of them go inside his room and Austin locks the room from behind and takes his laptop out. "Listen I am very sorry but I should have noticed and supported you, I am fool, I am very sorry!!!" Stealing was not possible and his father would not buy him such an expensive material in the name project. The only way was which was disliked by him was to enter the Vegas Black market.  
                                    In the afternoon they met each other at a park and Austin asked, "So dude what's your plan right now to stop them?"
"Well I have no plan right now, right now I am only focused upon is those 3 guys who killed my grandpa."

The RC reminded him of the bikes he saw on those racing games he used to play with his cousin.

He just straight up asked for the bike and its price and paid $7000 for it. He straight up swiped his debit card.

He went back to the apartment in the bike. He went inside his room. Everything except the zombie AI was done when he ordered the programmer bot to make the game uncrackable. The game was played using server and the internet. He asked the programmer bot to make the server and the game impenetrable. As for anyone that might try to hack the servers, he decided to place the attacker hacker bot in the server to counter attack any hackers.

No one else and this also prevented people from making multiple accounts as this game used the recognition system to recognize the user while registering the account and used it while logging the user in the game.

He flew around a bit. He was listening to the growling noises the zombies were making. He saw various mutated animals. When he flew over a stronghold, the people in the stronghold started shooting at his character but no can do. He was OP character in this world. He smirked while he thought.

He was extremely satisfies with this world he had created. After all, the people in the stronghold shot at him as they felt afraid of this unknown being which could fly. He was extremely satisfied with their reaction. On the other hand, he might have erased this stronghold from the map if the NPC down below were like those robotic AI's in their games.

He realized he didn't have a gaming laptop to play games while he was not home. He bought a predator laptop worth a little over $1000.

He decided to release the game now. He uploaded the game. After a few minutes the game was uploaded. He was looking forward to how the people would be thrilled to play his game. He then grew ecstatic over the fact that those so called crackers would not be able to crack his game or hack into his games.

He was smiling when Andy said, " Stupid, no one knows about your stupid website or the game. How will anyone play it when they don't know about it. You haven't advertised about the game. "
