Ah, you could at least change the name or just keep Yin Ye. The protagonist's name is too long. Reading Yin Ye Zhenshi after every three or four lines...no one would read. There are not even 20 chapters, so I can't say much about the story, but any fanfic of Cote is always welcome..

Great fic, the only downside is MC name. That Ying Ye Zhenshi in the middle of Japanese names, ugh i just can't take him seriously with that name popping out every other paragraph and everyone acts like it's normal keep ruining the story immersion

well, creativity is not of a high level. If you are not Chinese and not a fan of their exaggerated stylistics and strange humor, I recommend passing. I always notice in such fiks how the Japanese and Chinese differ from each other in their creativity and culture, and unfortunately, despite some of their own habits, the Japanese write much more clearly and closer to people. Fortunately, this story is far from being on the worst lists of its analogues, but the main character is perceived from the very beginning as from another planet (and this is besides next to some freaks of this world) both in their behavior and personality. Plus, like a nail in the coffin lid, the absolute zero reaction to the character of a foreigner (seriously, his name alone is like a red sign) is absolutely zero, and the characters themselves sometimes speak like they are not Japanese, if the author cannot get into the identity of the original, what kind of ch5rta does they actually write something?

My review up to chapter 60: The beginning is quite nice, the main character is a opportunistic delinquent who tries to blend in to the uncertain environment. His views are extremely individualistic which makes him for an interesting character in the collective world of COTE. However, the story quickly begins to stagnate. The pacing is incredibly poor, so much so that not even one month of the first year passes through the first 50 chapters. The character which at the beginning seemed cunning and calculating becomes an exposition dumper who just overwhelms his antagonists with text while claiming he’s playing them. Additionally, the MCs unusual Chinese name isn’t addressed even once! It wouldn’t be strange if the MC were to have Chinese heritage, and that could’ve simply been noted, but everyone just ignores this making him feel like the elephant in the room when reading his names next to all the Japanese ones. Most importantly though, out of all the fanfics I read on COTE this one fails to understand Ayanokojis personality the most. While ayanokoji may seem calm and collected like in every other media portrayal, that’s about the extent of him they got right. He involves himself with idiots, antagonizes the mc for no reason, and makes poor decisions. This isn’t only the case with Ayanokoji however, as all the seemingly ‘smart’ characters here have been reduced to fodder doing nothing more then emboldening and hyping up the mc. It honestly makes me wonder why the author even decided to take up a COTE fanfic instead of writing a original school story. While I don’t like to use stereotypes, sometimes they just fit to perfectly. If I were to describe this story to any future readers, it is quite literally just a cheap Chinese knockoff.
