yes and no while normal nuclear bombs have the same side effect like dirty nukes ( but much MUCH weaker ) the nuclear bombs used in ww2 are considered as normal nukes not dirty ones , if they were dirty bombs both cities will be inhabitantal till now even tho its been 80 year from ww2

yep but that's not the worst thing with dirty nuclear bombs its the radiation that is still in the air and gets carried in the wind effecting the human and local wildlife , rate of disease such as birth mutation/defects , cancer and corps failure are about to sky rocket and considering akame is primary a medieval setting means they dont have medicine/technology to fix the problems

actually when a nuclear bomb explodes the radiation it releases makes the area inhabitable for 48/72h as the radion it produces isnt strong enough to keep a last effect they are build to explode and disappear quickly however if it is a dirty nuclear bomb it could potentially make the land inhabitable for centuries if not millennials Thanks for reading my ted talk :D
