Escribe una reseñaThis fanfic is simply impressive. I rarely, if ever, find a fic where the lore is so well respected, in both the world building, and in how he portrays well known characters, as I don't find it hard to imagine most of them saying or acting in how the author portrays them. This is further shown when he summons his Servant, as they are not a prominent character in Fate, but he sticks to the lore on them, and even in the dream cycle, he follows the characters legends almost to the letter, but from their perspective. Another nice thing is that since the Mc is a Fate novice, we the reader get to learn side by side with him, allowing us to be on a relatively similar plane of understanding as the Mc, without needing to constantly check Wikipedia for the lore to understand what's going on. The most impressive part about it, is that it never comes across as condescending, weird or out of place when we learn a thing or two, and even with me knowing so much about the lore, I have been pleasantly surprised with how the Author has handled 'teaching' us it, without it getting repetitive. The Oc's are all well made, and lore accurate, making them refreshing to read about, as they seem genuine, and not just a plot device to further the story. The main character is clearly flawed in personality and is someone who starts out as a novice with all things regarding Fate, yet through the story he grows as both a person and magus. With the Grail War catapulting his character development, and it is a joy to read. The supporting cast is great, and I am find them as a great addition as they elevate the story. Another plus is that he has a proper family, as I am far too used to fanfictions having the main protagonist being an orphan or being distant with his relatives. While here, his mother plays a proper role in his life, and she is a good mother and is an engaging part of the story. The Servant he summons deserves its own long and detailed paragraph, but I do not wish to spoil who it is, but know that how they are characterized, and later change though the Grail War is impeccably handled. As I went from somewhat disliking the character due to who they were, and how they were acting towards best girl (You'll know who it is when you read), but now I can't help but love their character, and I wish the best for them and can't wait to see how the Author will handle their character, as I never expected to start liking them. When it comes to the story, the Author has clearly put in a lot of thought, and it feels natural for the most part, and very believable. Characters acting as they should, and the situation adapting to the changes are all handled well, and I am excited to see what the Author has in store for the finale of the Fourth Holy Grail War. When it comes to writing style, it is clear that he was a bit new to it in the beginning, but past chapter 9 he finds his rhythm, and the writing quality improves as a whole. I am as well very pleased with the chapters being so long, somewhere around four thousand words each if I am not mistaken, so that is a big plus. And the Authors consistency is great, as he posts at least twice a week, despite him having exams season. All in all, this has to be in my top five Fics that I have ever read, and I hope that Webnovel authors continue to impress like Leylin here. So, I wish you luck, Leylin Blackwood, and I hope you never drop this gem, as it would be a great shame!
Writing Quality The writing is top-notch, unlike the majority of works in the top rankings. The author clearly understands the importance of proofreading before publishing—shocking, right? Squints at 60% of the top-ranked works. --- Story Development The story is genuinely intriguing, and you won’t find a lot of predictable clichés here. It keeps you guessing, which is a breath of fresh air. Despite this, the author hasn’t forgotten they’re writing fanfiction. So yes, you still get your guilty pleasures while diving into a story that feels fresh and original. --- Character Design This is where the author truly excels. Every character, even the minor ones, feels like a real person. While some might argue that the author is "piggybacking" on already established characters, it’s important to remember this is told from the MC's point of view. The author does an excellent job showing us the world through the MC’s lens. Character interactions are particularly well-written, drawing you in and making you care deeply about the characters. --- Update Schedule I’m not a fan of rating books based on update schedules. In my opinion, Webnovel’s inclusion of this parameter is one reason the platform is overrun with mediocre works. Writing a gem takes time, which isn’t possible when authors are pressured to churn out chapters like products on an assembly line. Rant aside, this author has kept their promise, consistently delivering chapters on schedule. --- World Background We’re still following the Fate plot, so there’s not much new in terms of world-building. But—big but—the author works wonders with what’s already there. The descriptions are vivid enough that you can picture everything clearly in your head. For immersive readers like me, this is a huge win. --- Reasons to Read This 1. It’s not a Pokémon harem. Shocking, right? Based on where things are headed, it looks like there’ll only be two pairings. 2. If you’re into action, the fight scenes are detailed and exciting. 3. The MC isn’t some overpowered god, but they’re not a punching bag either. It’s a nice balance where you won’t feel like you’re reading a never-ending underdog saga. 4. Magic actually matters in this story. I know, crazy—magic in a magical world. A lot of Fate fics ignore this, so it’s refreshing to see it play a significant role here. 5. You get all the good stuff Fate is known for: manipulation, backstabbing, shrewd plans, and emotional games. While the MC isn’t always the mastermind, they’re actively involved in the schemes. 6. The author respects the Fate lore and doesn’t pull random nonsense out of thin air. Hardcore Fate fans will appreciate the attention to detail. 7. The MC doesn’t know the entire plot, so this isn’t one of those lazy “canon retellings” where everything goes as expected. However, they have just enough knowledge to avoid being completely blind, which is exactly why we read fanfiction—to see things done differently or better. 8. While romance hasn’t been front and center, the current arc hints at some fluffy moments coming up soon. If you’re into romance, you’ll probably enjoy where this is headed. --- Final Thoughts If you’re tired of the usual garbage and want something that’s actually worth your time, give this a shot. Read the first 5-6 chapters and decide for yourself. Don’t let other people’s opinions—positive or negative—sway you. You might just find your next favorite fic.
Literally made an account just to give powerstones to this masterpiece. (Review made at the end of V2 (cca. 300k words)) Amazing work, the finale of V2 had me holding my breath. Solid 5 star work if I have ever seen one on this site. Quality of writing is something I would expect in a light novel rather then a fanfiction. Every single character is portrayed in a way faithful to the original material, author knows the lore of the universe he writes for to an amazing degree The only downside to reading this is the absurd high standards you will develop from works of fanfiction in the future, so be aware of that risk going in
The writing quality is 5 stars, there are not many mistakes and even the few that are there but it is very easy to understand what it is. Story development is 5 stars, the author has gone into so much detail and explains the stuff in such a good way that even the people who don't know much can easily understand the story. Character Design is also 5 stars, nothing much to say about it the Author is good at writing about the already existing characters and even the ocs. Update schedule is also 5 stars Fate is such a big world and the author is including everything without rushing it. All in all the best fate fanfics i ihave ever read
Its very rare for me to write a review on Webnovel considering half the authors on here can be considered hot trash and the others writing quality usually Mtl translated or at least poorly translated because Chinese doesn't translate to English well. This is an English speaking writer, that alone is enough to propel this story to the top 50 stories alone on this site. This person very clearly knows the setting and the characters and its utterly amazing, EASILY the best Fate fic on this site alone. The protag does come off a little Gary stu in the first like 5 chapters because everything is looking up for him until you realize that compared to the real threats that populate the setting he isnt shit and needs that head start to even the playing field. sadly the author is going on a small hiatus to build up chapters for his Patreon and because he got a job because life is expensive but it is consistent Big updates that were gonna get once a week when he returns so id say that is an amazing schedule considering his reguler chapters are about the same amount of words as the average WN authors 5-7 chapters alone so id say the wait is worth it. I wont completely spoil so consider this the end of the review but if your interested for the single most amazing thing i have ever seen in a fate fanfic on webnovel, continue. Gilgamesh is actually a threat and is petty enough to ruin the Protagonist and Best girl Morgan plans when he is about to lose by using the NP everyone forgets he has aka Path to Victory/ future sight/ Sha nib something, single handedly making every victory they get pyrrhic and setting up for the most heinous return for the 5th HGW. Ulitmatly GOATed fic and cant wait for more
Revelar spoilerIt's peak fiction, nuff said Also, Leylin, are you planning on making a Patreon or do you have one already? If so, what's its name?
Não li ela completa ainda, mais pelos comentários parace ser uma ótima história, eu vi falando que no vai ter um pequeno harem? Se for ter, quem está nele?
Revelar spoilerAbsolute Masterpiece. In this shithole called webnovel, this is a delightful relief from subpar works and hordes of translated CNs. The author is well versed in fate lore and knows what he is writing rather than making shit up without background knowledge. Well Cooked, would recommend it💯
"It's a masterpiece—just read it. If you're interested in the Fate series, just read it. You won't regret it, I promise." "Good job, Mr. Author! Thank you for your hard work. I respect people who put effort into their work, and you certainly did."
Awsome ff, only way it could be better would be more updates, but the author goes for quality over quantity. And for that i simply can’t foult him.
Absolutely amazing Fate fanfic right here imo. Nearly flawless grammar and writing quality, engaging character interactions, well-planned plotlines, and extremely detailed (and basically flawless lore-wise) world background. The fight scenes are also very well done and quite exciting. Hell, the Author even replies to paragraph comments quite regularly! The only real demerits to the entire story for me are that the MC is a bit childish (being dumb, reckless, or arrogant in some cases but not too bad) and that the romance is REALLY slow. I stopped reading around Chapter 44 (to let more chapters build up); but up until that point there is almost no romance at all. There is definitely a good foundation for romance in the future; but it has been really bland in that department so far. This is definitely not a story for someone looking for fast paced romance. The Author also seems to lean towards having a single love interest — too bad Harem fans. Despite the lack of romance and some childish behavior by the MC, this is still one of the best Fate fanfics I've read personally. I'll definitely be coming back to read more after a surplus of chapters build up and possibly update or post a new review. Until then, keep up the good work Author and bravo.
Revelar spoilerThis is the greatest fate fanfic i have ever read. The dynamic between morgan and the mc is so good. All the side characters are also written extremely well and the pacing is great too 5/5.
Excellent, the author mostly keeps the update calendar and the few exceptions he still manages to keep the quota of chapters,it has an excellent quality of writing with a very good character development and demeanor making it fit to the world and the magus society;the magecraft its a version more explored of what one can see in Fate/zero and stay night, because the mc's magecraft develops very well in a pragmatic way instead of the typical magus that focus on research and weird effects that takes lots of preparation or the crazy bastard of fate/zero(aka kiritsugu bin laden emiya) with a rocket launcher and a gun that only knows how to use his magic crest, reinforcement or basic magecraft;the author creates interesting parts that always makes one want to keep going and the lenght of the chapters is excellent and the author is always in contact with the readers and answer kindly to any question or complaint taking seriously your opinion
IF U WANT BIGGER MEAT 😉 Because i know us degenerates need all the inches we can get. All u need to do is read all chapters. I could not believe my eyes, my mighty pole had increased by a whopping 4 inches 😱 NOW, the old mighty glories being that is I, have passed the threshold of 5 inches and achieved Nirvana. I do no longer need to look at my little PP through a microscope, GLORY TO THE AUTHOR
Fanfiction Review: Fate/Fake Order by Hugh Janus “Fate/Fake Order” by Hugh Janus brings a fresh, lively spin to the Fate universe, centered around a dynamic new protagonist, Alastair. Alastair is openly and proudly gay, and his unapologetic personality adds a compelling twist to the high-stakes world of the Grail War. Hugh Janus has crafted a protagonist with depth and flair, making Alastair feel both relatable and unique within the context of the series. His witty, charming approach to the challenges he faces makes him a refreshing departure from the typical Fate mages. The story does an excellent job highlighting Alastair’s personality beyond his sexuality. Hugh Janus skillfully avoids stereotypes, instead building Alastair as a well-rounded character whose confidence and wit enhance each interaction. His flirtatious nature brings humor, especially in his banter with other mages and servants, yet there’s an emotional core to his character that adds layers to his journey. The bond between Alastair and his servant is one of the story’s highlights. Their relationship is beautifully written, evolving from cautious respect to a genuine partnership. Hugh Janus balances tension, humor, and heartfelt moments to give their dynamic a natural feel, making their journey together impactful and memorable. The action scenes are another strong point. Hugh Janus brings the combat to life with vivid, detailed descriptions that capture the intensity and strategy characteristic of Fate battles. The lore is expertly woven in, showing the author’s respect for the source material while adding their unique twist. Overall, “Fate/Fake Order” by Hugh Janus is an engaging read for Fate fans. Alastair is a memorable, fully realized protagonist whose story is as thrilling as it is heartfelt. Hugh Janus’s writing makes this fanfiction a standout, blending action, humor, and heart into a genuinely entertaining experience.
reading this work I get the feeling of a Chinese novel but about england. ( leaf juice lovers )
I personally recommend this fanfic to any fate fans out there as the author knows his lore and characters. So far it’s been an amazing read and everything felt natural and not forced (Plot). Looking forward to more updates, Good job, you’ve cooked👨🏻🍳🔥👌🏻
There is really not much to say. The author has extensive knowledge of the nasuverse and can come up with his reasonable fanon without creating any plot hole is respect to the og canon. Very enjoyable to read though I suppose that a new reader starting the novel might be bored in the first 4 chapter and feel like there might be some unexplainable things bit they are all wonderfully explained in the later chapters. And rember to watch the advertisement breaks.
The story is very good, although I feel the protagonist is a little weak at the beginning, later on he improves a little. I hope the story continues to improve from now on.
Absolute Cinema, need I say more? I think not. If one hath reached this mountain peak in an attempt to comprehend thy peak, then one shan't be disappointed. Thy Author comprehends thee lore. Thy Author comprehends thee power system. Thy Author comprehends thee personalities, and not only that-but exhibits them in an exceptional fashion. Standeth proud, upon thy peak. Thou holds a magnitude of strength.
To this time fic is very good and interesting i hope your quality wont decrease. Also please dont drop this i am very interested in Aleister journey and how he will deal with CounterForce contract. My choice for waifu is Morgan of course
19 chapters and I would say this fic is very good. the early chapters are a little boring with an introduction arc and a little training arc. however the story gets really fun after mc summons morgan.
I found the story and entered out of curiosity and now I'm counting the hours until the next chapter.
