this saga literally sets every thing for the plot from there onwards. naruto defeated gaara whom sasuke couldn't. sasuke got more jealous of naruto and wanted the power of orochimaru who killed the hokage. guarantee becomes friends with naruto and helped him by fighting kimimaro with lee and later when he gets kidnapped naruto will try to save because of said friendship after this battle of the chunnin exam. because the third died in this arc danzo was more active(unlikely in this fic though thanks to fujin). itachi and kisame decided to come to the village cause the third died. they might seems insignificant but some of this happening differently or not happening at all might a butterfly effect to the point things might go vastly different like pain deciding to raid konoha together with other member of the akatsuki straight away. or obito and black zetsu taking action before their canon time

at most there is a discrepancie with kiritsugu's age but there a shit ton of ways to explain even just saying things a like a fake age certificate or the fact that am assassin wouldn't easily be know by face from the beginning
There is really not much to say. The author has extensive knowledge of the nasuverse and can come up with his reasonable fanon without creating any plot hole is respect to the og canon. Very enjoyable to read though I suppose that a new reader starting the novel might be bored in the first 4 chapter and feel like there might be some unexplainable things bit they are all wonderfully explained in the later chapters. And rember to watch the advertisement breaks.
