Was kinda meh in the beginning for about 50 chapters but gradually got better. A cultivation story that gets better.
Chapter 1680 , the translations are getting poor in quality. I love this novel and have been recommending it on Reddit groups and such. Please don't let the reading experience drop! We can wait longer for the chapters but please remedy the situation henceforth.
Current read chapter as of wrighting 1679.I think that this novel has a great power system, has interesting character design, plays around troops very well, and the depth of the world is amazing.the author does an amazing job of making the main character seem really strong early on, but once you continue to read the only thing overpowered about him is the support of those around him.Xu's intelligence and Charisma allowed the story to thrive with him being underpowered compared to the threats that he is facing, while also making him overpowered for his actual level.I do wish that the author/translator added tags so it would get tossed around to more people.Also Mu/Lei X Xu should happen, please add the romance tag and end her waiting!
not what i expect from the word PASSIVE SKILL. The skills arent skills from gaming term. There is no percentage increase of attributes, no regeneration, no immunity/resistance skills. All he got is a breathing technique for "passive" cultivation, and strengthen skill for ez level up of body cultivation. Even the strength skill lvl correlate to the cultivation lvl, from Acquired lvl 1 to lvl 10, then become Innate lvl 1, and so on. NOT strength +2% or something like what i expect from the term passive skills. What a disappointment
I kind of like the story but just like other sayed if he stayed still and ate some poison or something then gain passive to the limit lets say peak of innate or acquired which every was before grandmaster? Then he could be more powerful, with the main reason being on chapter 580 he joins saint servant even though in the first 5 chapter or so it keep saying he want freedom and I just did not like him joining them because it basically makeing the mc take a lame way out of gaining points and its lazy writing.

Definitely in my Top 5. To know characters partially well, you'll have to wait 200-300 chapters but once you do, you'll realise that the "characters" make this 4.4/5 novel directly a 5/5 one! So glad I read IALWPS!
The first 40 chapters are 88% trolls and jokes, I liked it, but I get why some people dropped. Past that the story is goated and only gets better over time. 5 star read
while this is a system novel it's not the main point,the system fades into the background most of the time as the thing that gives the protagonist most of his power but that doesn't make the protagonist bland because he doesn't depend on it, most of the time he has to rely on his thinking, reflexes and ability to read people and trick them to be able to survive the strong enemys he faces in his travels, when it comes to world building,I have to say this on of the most divers,it's sword styles are many and all are very unique,when it comes to cultivation it's has many types from elemental such as fire,water to even time later in the story but even unique type such as sealing,as for the powers of the protagonist, he is diverse in sword,body,array, alchemy and spiritual but also unique abilities,and the characters in the party are all different from each other while still being able to fit with each other,and the protagonist is by him self most of the time and his actions are logical and fallow his smart and cautious but greedy nature so it's a laugh when ever he tricks his apponent, with all this I'd recommend this story very much for a laugh and sometimes relaxing and sometimes serious story.
A good and funny novel, with some seriousness but comedic as well. Though, someone should really keep an eye on MC's skills and the swords and weapons.
This author thinks alot when writing this novel. But some time overthinking can lead to stupidity and in this case out MC from the start until the 1100 something chapter is led the nose of saint servants he is always pushed into a situation that he doesn’t want to be in but they always push him and he alows himself to be pushed around. When it comes to other people or organizations he is always stead fast and able to retlaiate but when its time to do the same in front of saint servants his minds shuts off and he becomes an idiot.
a lot of forced plot, where the mc could have just run with everyone and get to safety but no he would always go out first to test the water and then became the cunning bs mc where he would save everyone with his glib tongue.
Personally I love this book. I love the the jokes, the characters (MC especially ofc), the world they live in, etc etc. When I looked at the reviews I was surprised at how many were absolutely dogging on this novel. The fact the author has been going on this long is amazing. Thank you Author
- Used to love this book .... 1205 chapters in , now the book just feels like the author is merely trying to keep it going for as long as possible. A lot of unnecessary elements keeping the MC from progressing, at some point you can just see that the events that are happening are purely there to prolong the story and keep the MC down. Oh and MC just likes to hoard his passive points for long periods
Absolutely love this story from the characters to the world building. There was a short duration of bad translations with names but it’s pretty solid after. WIthout that it would be a 10/10.
Overall I think the story is not bad but to be honest it's not exciting. It's funny with all the comedy but a lot of the characters seem to be a bit... too nice? The ones that appear to be ok with killing are the older people and the younger people in the novel seem to be against killing. I expected a more toxic environment considering there are limited resources and with such a competitive world people are bound to be different. To me, it seems the mc is too relaxed about the world and I know he understands that it's a dog-eat-dog world and he values life too much. Like he just helps someone who formerly had killing intent and seemed like they were about to kill him. They were a nice person but what I'm questioning is how you get to such a level of power and still be nice. You step over people when you compete for resources and he just doesn't seem to have the ambition to do so. Just not my cup of tea I guess.
Great to read. I enjoyed it very much as I read the updates so as they've been released, so do my friends that I introduce this novel which has turned a few of them that don't normally read this gene into long time fans keep up the fantastic writing
Cara ru não tenho oque falar,primeiro que eu acho que você bota as coisas muito rápido,outra coisa é a personalidade irracional e irritante do mc,sério da ódio,segundo e os outros personagens burros,outro é roteiro,por exemplo na parte que ele invade a casa da mulher em vez dele vazar não ele misteriosamente fica é sem contar que em vez de contar verdade sobre que ele foi enganado,não ele fica enrolando e se fudendo,e aquela mulher lá sério que vadia da porra,tipo ela tem noção que se ela matasse o prota ela teria ferrada ou seja ela mesmo sabendo do esquema ela ainda segue igual uma burra e ainda culpa o prota e sem contar os outros milhões de erro que me faz ficar puto
This book gets really slow when they release chapters 1/3 the original size, especially since most of the story around 700+ is filler character interactions with not much actual development. I'm on chapter 1213 and it doesn't look like it's getting better.
I survived until chapter 1100+ but even someone like me who transcended calamity and fought the heavenly will was defeated by my mental demons in this novel. This is where my journey ends, for those who was able to caught up to me, good luck on your journey
I read it till chapters 467. translation was bearable till 300 but I kept reading it till 467 thinking it's translation might have improved but it didn't. p.s :- I read it long time ago so I don't know what happened to it now. Can someone tell me whether author/translator retranslated those chapters and improved translation of next 500+ chapters or not. So that I shouldn't waste my time and money on it?
A very good novel. It doesn't deserve its current rating. The whole story has a comedic tone and logic is a big part of the story. It's hard to have plot holes here and everything is explained. The schemes are pretty detailed as well and there are no unreasonable people out of nowhere. Sure the translation quality drops after around 500 chapters, but it picks right back up around the 800s and onwards.
I had read up to chapter 680 atm and was fun now and then but I feel bored after reading for this long, after reading for 680 chapter Mc is still innate stage that was from chapter 100or something, and the people he fighting is few stage highest.

She liveth Also. The junior sister of his master has no redeeming quality. She is just baggage and extra. Not even sure what quality made her to be the disciple. She is not needed
