Chapter 15: Chapter 15 (Hidden lies)
Alexandra’s bucket list before entering Hanyang university was to study and tour Seoul, Busan, and other cities of her choice.
To visit nice colorful places, and never to be distracted by boys or any other type of distractions.
Alexandra was so confident in herself that she had sworn to her best friend to never get swept over by some boys, and would never be in love.
“I am just being a good person, that is all, he is not going to be a distraction, never would be”.
Alexandra reminded herself as she chewed her mouth aggressively, not noticing Ha Joon’s eyes fixed on her.
She finally looked up and saw his eyes on her.
“What? the food is so good... I cannot just eat slowly if that is what you have been thinking about, the food here is so good, I cleaned my plate... See”.
Ha Joon looked down at her empty plate.
“Glad you enjoyed it...”, he responded.
Alexandra giggled softly.
Her eyes immediately fell on his barely untouched food, she looked up at him and without hesitation, she asked.
“Are you not going to finish your food?”.
He stared down at his food and up at Alexandra whose eyes were fixed on his food.
“It would be all soggy if he doesn't eat it”, she muttered while drooling at the food.
Ha Joon’s lips curved into a smile, he has never met anyone as natural as Alexandra, the way she talks freely and acted so freely with him was surprising.
Most girls act shy around guys when they are out together and show different personalities to impress the guy but Alexandra? She is.......
He smiled and passed her the bowl of kong-guksu.
She gave him a Duchenne smile.
“Are you sure?”, she asked while staring down at the noodles in front of her.
Most people in the world pretend and act all weird but she is eating so heartily in front of him without caring how her eyes got brightened at every mouth full or how she chews so fast or how slurping the noodles almost made some soy milk got in her eyes.
He was staring at her so deeply that he forgot his fingertip on his lips for a while.
Alexandra took the last mouthful before drinking the soy milk without leaving a drop.
He snickers.
She instantly looked up at him and gave him a cold stare.
“Are you mocking me, Ha Joon”?
“Huh!... No”, he responded and immediately looked away.
She curled her lips at him.
“This is so good, I think I am enjoying being your girlfriend so far, I would be fat in no time, not that I want it yeah? But I can't just help it... These foods are majestic”, she said and watched him smile.
Alexandra smacked her lips while looking around.
“Is that Ha Joon?”.
“Yes I think he is Oh my God, he looks so handsome”.
“Is that the girl rumored to be dating him? Are they really dating?....”
“Oh my God I am so jealous”.
“Me too”.
Ha Joon heard the two girls as they stood some distance away, while staring at him.
The soft cough coming from Alexandra shifted his attention, he rose and quickly helped with the bottled water on the table.
He opened the bottle cap and fed her some water.
Alexandra gulped some until she was satisfied.
“Are you okay?”, he asked as he sat down.
His worried eyes, the way he didn't hesitate to help her with water, how he fed her and was careful with her, how he was patient until she was satisfied, and his gentle caring voice.
She immediately felt hurricane inside her veins.
Ha Joon felt the intensity in her stare, he didn't look away as well.
“Was all that for reals? He really was being sweet to me....” Alexandra pondered.
The chatter of the girls walking past them caught her attention.
“They are together, did you see her with Ha Joon?, I think they are on a date”.
Alexandra also saw two girls staring at them from a short distance.
Her face dropped.
“Right, why did I suddenly get so excited... He did all that because they were looking, yes right”, she thought and picked up the bottled water to gulp more.
Ha Joon noticed her expression, but could not tell what was going on in her mind.
“Why do I get so worried when it comes to her?”.
FEMALE DORMITORY
Eun Kyung was doing her assignment when Alexandra came in.
“Alex! Hey”.
Eun Kyung smiled heartily at her roommate who immediately dropped onto the bed.
“Hiiiiiiii”, Alexandra responded.
Eun Kyung put her legs on the table while staring at Alexandra, she has been indoors for two hours without talking to anyone.
“Sooo did you go out?”, she asked.
Alexandra exhaled sharply, she turned her face to Eun Kyung and answered.
“Yes, I have been pretending to be what I am not, being a pathetic liar”.
She knew almost everyone in the school would have heard about her and Ha Joon going out.
If Eun Kyung has heard about the news, she would have been throwing a lot of questions at her right now.
“I don't think she knows”, Alexandra muttered.
She looked up at Eun Kyung and decided to ask.
“You didn't hear about Ha Joon and some foreign girl being in a relationship did you?”.
Eun Kyung stared at Alexandra for some seconds, she sniggered and shook her head.
“Ha Joon? Rumored to be dating a foreign girl?”, Eun Kyung put down her legs and let out a scoff.
“Since I have known Ha Joon, I have never seen him with any girl, date? Nah... Trust me that is just false news, Ha Joon doesn't like people, he cannot even pretend to be dating a girl. That is how much he does not want people in his business”.
“He gets mean and does not care about anyone”, Eun Kyung said while staring at Alexandra.
She turned back to her assignment.
“So do not believe no rumor... Ha Joon is a meanie not the caring type, I hope he would change one day though but right now....”, she added and looked back at Alexandra, “I do not think so....”.
For some reason, Alexandra got a bit sad at Eun Kyung’s words.
Ha Joon has changed toward her, he is not mean and she has been confused by how he was so caring back at the restaurant.
She cannot tell if it was all fake just like their relationship.
“The way he stare at me while he fed me water”, she mumbled.
Eun Kyung turned her face to Alexandra, “did you also see the foreign girl they claimed he is dating?”.
Alexandra looked up at Eun Kyung.
She gave a loud sigh and said.
“She is staring at you right now....”.
“Huh? Who is?...” Eun Kyung asked in a confused tone.
It took her some while to figure it out.
“A foreign girl,..... You also do not seem surprised to hear he is dating a girl, .... You are back late and when I asked, you said you have been out pretending....”. Eun Kyung said while staring at her own feet.
“Alex...”
She looked up and saw Alexandra’s lips being compressed.
“NO WAY!!! YOU ARE DATING HA JOON?”.
