Chapter 149: Master Alchemist test part 6
Max did get a lot of people that wanted to get under his tutorship after Vanessa passed the alchemist test with good grades. It was not the type of result that would be expected of a new alchemist. Most of the times the product that produced was on a level that would be done by an alchemist with a big experience. Max did not care about it generally. He did his own thing and waited for his test. He knew that he could try to get into the grandmaster level after he finished the master alchemist test if he could produce a product that can elevate a mage into a level of a high mage or any other alchemical product that is beneficial for people on a level of a high mage.
Max knew that it would not be a problem for him, so he just took his time. Vanessa was having a hard time with all the attention she got. Now she did not need all this "respect" from all of the people that came over to her to ask for potions and attempts to get her to get into a faction or a family. She got so many proposals that she did not even knew what to do with herself anymore. She, of course rejected those people with the excuse that Max got her to sing a contract that she would be a part of his faction and because of that most of the people did leave her alone. Now she was working at full power on paying her obligations towards the academy and the empire and just going her own way. She knew how full of shit those people were. A month before she would be a good plaything for sexual desires for most men and no more. Now she could just live her life.
Soon a week in a half passed. It was supposed to be a week but one of the master alchemists had problems with getting in time for the test. Because of that Max had to wait another four days. Today, finally he would get what he wanted. He would a get a rank that will allow him to get knowledge on what the hell is going on.
Max got into the testing room, while all the master alchemists were already sitting there and looking at him in a curious glance. He knew only Adam from all those people. All the people here were old men with silver or white hair. Max saw that all of them had high status with how they were holding themselves before him. He looked like a young guy that seeks approval from the elders of his family to begin his path in life. The room was the same room that Vanessa got her alchemist rank in. It was a rare occasion for such amount of master alchemists to be in one place. All of those people were busy, so one of them said with an impatient tone: "Let's begin with the test. I wish you good luck. Just make any alchemic product that is 8 times or more potent that of a low-level potion for mages or grand knights and you will pass."
Generally, those people knew that Adam gave high regard to this person. They did not know about the potions Max was selling and because of that they wanted to get over with that and get with their own responsibilities. Their life will not change for the worse or the better if Max will become a master alchemist.
Max did not care about the attitude of the man and just nodded. Most of the time he will lose his shit, but now he also wanted to get his grandmaster rank and then get a lot of power and resources from the different empires. He could recruit people to serve him and get over the hard and unstable time that are coming to this world.
Max got quickly to business. He did the potion that helped mages to increase their cultivation speed. He did a potion for the fire element mages. The master alchemists were surprised to see Max use the fire and water elements actively to make the potion. It looked like he a robot doing some kind of production. It did not take much time for him to finish the potion. The masters were surprised by such display of skill. They knew that this person really had the ability to become a master alchemist. Now was the time to really check the potion. Max already knew that he succeeded. He made those potions so much that it was like walking or breathing for him. It was so natural that he did not need to think much.
Adam quickly got to check the flask when he got a nod from Max that he was ready. The flask was placed in the machine and soon a number was displayed by the machine. It was 70. Max knew that a peak level potion was 64 times amplification, so he was happy that he did improve by a little. It was very very far from the transcendent level, but he knew that after a long time he could get there with the potions that he would do the most. The transcendent level potion gave 300-time amplification, so Max knew he had a long time to get to this level.
The master alchemists were very surprised. They knew that there are levels for this rank, but Max totally destroyed the test. Most of them have alchemical products production levels with amplifications of 10 to 20 times which was not bad, but to get a 70 was insane.
The person that hurried Max have a little regret in his voice while he said: "Master alchemist Max good job! I am sorry for being a little rude earlier. I really have business to attend to and because of that I'm in a hurry. Congratulations! My name is Henry by the way."
Max nodded to the man. He got more congratulations from all the other masters and Henry was going to go on his way, when Max suddenly stopped him and said: "Master alchemist Henry wait a minute. I am sorry, but I want to take a shot at the grandmaster exam. I know that you can give me the evaluation on this as well. I want to do it right now."
