Draco Malfoy sat at his desk inside his room, he had just completed his potions homework. He was positive that Professor Snape would like it, of course he would, Draco was the best of his students after all. And the fact that he was Draco's godfather and had a grudge or general hatred against the non-Slytherin students definitely did not affect the potions master's decisions.
Draco was just about to put his ink away when suddenly a lot of clothes had landed on him.
What the hell?!" Malfoy blurted out as he pushed all the clothes off of him.
"Draco what is happening?" Narcissa Malfoy, Draco's mother, asked when she arrived in his room but she quickly froze upon seeing the sight in front of her.
"Mother?" Draco asked, wondering why his mother was looking upset. He followed her eyeline and his own eyes widened when he saw that house elf he liked to kick standing there while holding a sock.
"Master has given Dobby a sock! Dobby is free!" The house elf cheered. He had caught the sock just like the great Harry Potter had told him to and now he was free! "Yippee ki yay motherfuckers!" Dobby shouted the phrase that the great Harry Potter told him to say before he popped off.
"Draco what were you thinking?!" Narcissa demanded. "House elves are expensive! If you wanted another elf then we could have swapped this one for another! Why did you set it free?!"
"But I didn't!" Draco cried. "It was an accident!"
"An accident?!"
"It was!"
"Your father will hear about this!"
"Dobby is free!" Dobby cried when he got back and the first thing he did was rush to Harry and wrapped his arms and legs around Harry's leg. "Dobby is a free elf!"
"That's good," Harry said kindly even though he gently pulled Dobby off of his leg due to the fact that Harry was not sure if the elf would start humping his leg. Harry had seen dogs hump owners legs and he was not quite willing to let a house elf do the same to him. "so you were telling me about the diary?" Harry asked.
"Oh yes." Dobby nodded before taking a few minutes to explain everything he knew about the diary.
"Hmm, well that's...nice...so what are you going to do now?" Harry asked.
"Dobby will need somewhere to work." Dobby said, looking at Harry with hopeful eyes.
"Somewhere to work?" Harry raised an eyebrow. "What exactly do you do?"
"Oh Dobby does cleaning and cooking and sewing and fixing and sorting and..."
"I get it," Harry cut him off. "just give me and Loki a minute." Harry said before he grabbed Loki and took him to the corner of the room. He and Loki began whispering to each other for several minutes with Loki doing a variety of hand gestures. "Alright," Harry said to Dobby after a few minutes. "if you need a place to work then I guess me and Loki could help."
"Really?!" Dobby blurted out, looking like all of his dreams had just come true.
"Wait...I don't have to pay you do I?" Harry frowned. "Because I am pretty sure that house elves do not get paid, because I read about you guys and..."
"Dobby doesn't need pay." Dobby said quickly, would he have liked pay? Yes. But not as much a the opportunity to work for the great Harry Potter sir.
"Okay then, you can be my elf and..." Harry was interrupted by Dobby rushing forward and hugging his leg. "...I take it that you accept." Harry said in a dry voice.
"Oh yes, yes! Dobby accepts! Yes!" Dobby cried with joy.
"Loki, if he starts humping then you start swinging." Harry whispered to Loki who nodded in a way that said that would be exactly what would happen if Dobby started humping.
"Hiya Harry." Harry heard someone call when he and Loki arrived on the platform on the day he had to go back to Hogwarts. Harry was currently dressed in blue trainers, along with blue jeans and a black hoodie with the 'Superman' logo on his chest, plus on his right hand he wore the ring he got from Christmas. Loki was sat on his shoulder while wearing his favourite Ravenclaw shirt that Lisa had given him.
"Hey Liz." Harry smiled at her as she arrived. Lisa was currently wearing black shoes, a black skirt that ended at her knees, a blue blouse, the same ring as Harry and the necklace that Harry had gotten her for Christmas. She had also done her hair up in a simple ponytail. "How are you? You're looking great."
"Thanks," Lisa smiled back. "you too, Superman?" She asked as she gestured to Harry's hoodie.
"I flipped a coin today, if it landed on heads then I would have worn a 'Batman' hoodie." Harry shrugged.
"Lisa." A voice called, Lisa let out a small but barely heard groan.
Harry watched as two people approached him and Lisa. The first was a tall man with broad shoulders, combed blonde hair and dressed in a fancy blue suit that screamed rich. Next to him was a black haired woman who had her hair in a bun and was dressed in a white dress and black coat that also screamed rich.
"And who is this?" The man sniffed, looking down on Harry.
"Harry, meet my parents." Lisa said, beginning the introductions. "Richard and Edith Swan."
"Oh, nice to meet you." Harry extended his hand, Richard shook his hand though he looked extremely reluctant to do so.
"Mother, father, this is Harry Potter and Loki."
"Ah," Edith said as she looked Harry up and down. "this is the boy-who-lived?"
"He's my friend." Lisa frowned.
"And what is that on your shoulder?" Richard asked, looking at Loki.
"That is Loki." Harry replied.
"And the school lets you bring him?" Edith frowned.
"I was able to convince the headmaster to make an exception." Harry said before turning to Lisa. "I'm going to go on the train and save us a compartment." She nodded in response, both knew each other well enough by now to know that he was just trying to escape this conversation. "Well see ya." Harry said to her parents before he walked off to the train.
"I am so sorry about that." Lisa said when she had arrived in the compartment.
"It's fine." Harry waved her off as he helped her put her trunk up. "Do your parents not like me or something?"
"Well they are rather high class and you are very..." Lisa trailed off, trying to think up the right words.
"Not?" Harry guessed.
"Pretty much yeah." Lisa nodded. "Anything interesting happen during your holidays?"
"Well I ended up getting a house elf," Harry shrugged. "there's a bit of a story there. Oh and he helped me work in the cauldron so Tom gave me an even bigger discount on my room. What about you?"
"Same old, same old." She shrugged. "Have you done all your homework?"
"Yep," Harry nodded. "you?"
"Yeah, I found the potions one the hardest."
"Well it is a hard subject, and it does not really help anyone by having a dick like Snape teaching." Harry shrugged.
"I know," Lisa sighed. "the man is so unprofessional, I think it is a miracle that nobody has not been seriously injured in his class yet. Anyway tell me about this new elf of yours."
"Alright fine, well basically here's what happened." Harry said before he began explaining all about what happened between him and Dobby.

"Good morning everyone." Professor Sprout said as she entered the greenhouse. "Welcome to greenhouse three, second years. Now gather around everyone. Today we are going to be re-potting Mandrakes. Can anyone tell me the properties of the Mandrake roots?" Professor Sprout asked, Harry and Hermione raised their hands. "Oh, Mr Potter." Sprout said as Harry was about a second quicker than Hermione.
"Mandrakes are basically plants that resemble humans," Harry began. "they can be used for different potions, feeding certain magical animals and are mostly used to help those have petrified, but they also have a cry similar to a banshee witch can be fatal."
"Excellent, ten points to Ravenclaw." Professor Sprout smiled. "Now these Mandrakes are only babies so their cry is not fatal, thought it could knock you out for several hours which is why we have these." Professor Sprout said as she held out a pair of ear muffs.
"Professor." Harry raised a hand in the air.
"Yes Mr Potter?" Professor Sprout asked.
"Why don't we just silencing charms?" Harry asked.
"A good question, one reason is obviously because it is an advanced charm which you all haven't learnt yet. The second reason is that it is actually better for you to know how a Mandrake screams, at least with younger ones as they're not as dangerous as the adult ones, you can tell how healthy they are by their screams. I'll explain it when we take them out unless you have anything else to say?"
"Just one thing Professor." Harry replied. "Loki doesn't have any ear muffs." Harry pointed to Loki who waved at Professor Sprout.
"I don't know why you insist on bringing that idiotic creature with you." Draco Malfoy sneered.
"Well if Crabbe and Goyle have to bring you then I am allowed to bring Loki." Harry replied calmly, causing quite a few people to laugh.
"Here you go." Professor Sprout said as she waved her wand to make some Loki sized ear muffs.
"Thanks Professor." Harry said as he put the ear muffs on Loki.
"Aw." Many girls cooed upon seeing the loveable monkey wearing ear muffs.
"Let me introduce you to your new defence against the dark arts teacher, me." Was the first thing Harry and Lisa heard when they sat in their first defence against the dark arts class of the year. They looked up to see Lockhart come out of his office while dressed completely in golden clothes. "Gilderoy Lockhart, Order of Merlin third class, honorary member of the dark force defence league and five times winner of witch weekly's most charming smile award." Lockhart smiled as he stood next to what appeared to be a painting of himself painting a painting of himself. "Though I don't talk about that, I didn't get rid of the Bandon Banshee by smiling at her." Lockhart laughed at his joke even though nobody else did. "Now I see you have all brought a copy of my books, that is good, I thought we'd start today with a little quiz. Nothing to worry about, just to check how well you've read them and how much you've taken them in."
Lockhart began handing the quiz sheets out, Harry felt more than saw Lisa roll her eyes. He looked where she was looking and saw her looking at the girls in the class that looked like they were about to faint thanks to merely being in the presence of Lockhart. Harry just did a mental shrug as he really didn't care if the girls were stupid enough to fall for Lockhart. Harry was a bit too distracted by the shiny watch on Lockhart's wrist.
"Ah, and who is this?" Lockhart grinned when he stopped by Harry's desk. His eyes locked onto Loki who was sat on Harry's shoulder. "Ah, how cute!" He said as he leaned down and looked Loki in the face. "Aren't you cute?" Lockhart said in a baby voice. "Yes you are, you are you little cutie pie. How adorable." Lockhart was probably about to continue if not for Loki eventually losing patience and slapping him in the face. "Ow!" Lockhart hissed and rubbed his face.
"That means he likes you." Harry lied, Loki turned to him and gave him a look that said .'chose your next words wisely' while Harry gave him a look that Lok quickly translated as 'sorry, but I don't want to get in trouble'. Harry in response received a look that said 'fine, but I want something tasty when we get back'.
