Chapter 103: River of Despair

Nathan waited outside the gate as early as 1 p.m. His heart was filled with anticipation and a large smile was on his face. His height and his hair colour attracted a lot of stares and gossip but this was the only time when Nathan did not bother to retort or make a scene.

The bell of the school rang and the clamouring of small children started. Nathan watched as the children came out in twos and threes. His eyes searched till he saw that lonely figure as he came out of the building alone, he clutched his bag tightly and his brown eyes looked around till he caught sight of him before walking up to him. 

Nathan felt a little sad. He came out alone today. Ren was such a beautiful child, it stood to reason that he should have lots of friends. However, the students in his class for some reason always alienated Ren.
