Chapter 129: Raizel remembers

Raizel stepped through the crack in space, careful not to disturb the formations surrounding the house. When Nathan had told him what happened about how Lyle had gotten a letter from his mother and left all pale. Raizel had been concerned.

They had fished Lyle out of the Harton River with his body completely injured, his organs in a mess and his meridians dry like a desert. Lyle had never told them what had injured him so completely.

When they had met in the office and Lyle had hugged him, his body trembling ever so slightly as he burst into tears. Raizel had a feeling that he had been grievously wronged.

But he respected his privacy. Raizel never pushed or prodded Lyle for his story. But he knew the boy had one.

His eyes flashed golden and the Vermillion seal on his heel glinted a brighter red. The thought that someone had hurt someone like Lyle was making him angry and Raizel was rarely angry.
