Chapter 1: CHAPTER 1
A building was blasting with music, disturbing the sleeps of many in the town.
A warehouse set up to house a lot of young people who wanted to rack their brains with loud music, strident lights and any drug that would make them forget about their problems.
In the center of the room, a small circle of spectators began to form, all of them attentive to a young man with red hair who danced energetically to the rhythm of the strident beat that came from the speakers. Many men and women lustfully and attentively looked at how the thin lithe young man with full lips danced with such dedication and passion. His movements were violent as well as graceful and delicate; an exquisite combination. He danced like Fire. His feline eyes were burning with passion.
"Who is he?!" A man asked a girl who was cheering for the dancing male along with the crowd.
She replied, "His name is Hwang Hyunjin. He is a human. He was adopted by the Stray Kids werewolf pack. He comes here every night."
Hyunjin let himself move to the rhythm. He was in a full blown daze.
Why was he here?
The answer is simple. Like any other youth in the place, he also wanted to forget about his anger and problems.
Stray kids pack are a bunch of nice people. After the passing away of Mr. Bang, Bang Chan, his son took over him. Bang Chan promised his father to take care of Hyunjin.
Even though Hyunjin was a human, Bang Chan loved and nourished him like his own. But that was not the case with everyone. Everyone except Han, I.N and Seungmin liked him.
Even then he was only close to Chan and Felix.
Who is Felix, you ask?
Well he is one of the omegas in the pack. His face, dusted with freckles would always make Hyunjin's heart go haywire.
He was the nicest to Hyunjin among everyone. He would stick with Hyunjin whenever he needed him. They were the best of friends. Maybe.....more??
Now the reason why Hyunjin was dancing like crazy was all because of the one and only Han Jisung.
Beginning of Flashback
Hyunjin came down from his room to have his breakfast. Chan looked up from his plate and smiled at him.
"Morning Hyunnie"
"Morning Hyung", Hyunjin spoke softly.
Felix looked at him with sparkles in his eyes. He waved his little hand. Hyunjin waved back and sat in his chair between Changbin and Felix.
Han had been smiling brightly before Hyunjin came but after seeing Hyunjin, his face contorted into a frown. He looked disgusted of Hyunjin.
Seeing him make such a face made Hyunjin raise his eyebrows.
"What?", snapped Hyunjin.
"Nah, was thinking about why I always have to see your ugly face first thing in the morning", Han replied snarkily.
Bang Chan glared at Han.
"Han, shut up and eat will ya?"
Han rolled his eyes at Bang Chan.
"I don't understand why you defend him. Is he above us all? He is just a mere human. Disgusting too", Han snapped.
"Shut up Han. Respect your Alpha"
This came from Changbin.
Han rolled his eyes again but remained quiet.
Everyone started eating.
Hyunjin had eaten 2 spoon full of rice. Before he could eat more, Han abruptly stood up with his plates and was walking towards the kitchen but 'accidently' stumbled and spilt the leftovers over Hyunjin.
Even Hyunjin's plate fell on the floor from Han's impact. There goes his food!!
"Oops sorry Hyunniee", Han said mockingly.
Jeongin and Seungmin snickered at Hyunjin. Hyunjin's hair, face and clothes were covered with food.
Hyunjin remained quiet. He was tired and used to this. Bang Chan and the others chastised Han for his 'carelessness'.
Hyunjin stood up and went to his room. Oh great!! Another day of mess!!
He cleaned himself thoroughly. He felt his eyes stinging. Why??
Why him??
He heard a knock.
"Hyun, are you alright? Do you need help?"
It was Felix.
"Yup I am totally fine Lixie. I will manage. Thank you."
There was no more sound outside the door. Maybe he left. Hyunjin smiled fondly. It was Felix who cared for him the most in the pack.
Hyunjin has always had a crush on Felix from the start. Felix would always cuddle with him. He would say a million promises. He would softly drag his fingers through Hyunjin's hair.
He would always sneak out of his house to go to the club to dance every night. No one knows about his sneaky escapades.
End of Flashback
Hyunjin shook his head and slowly came to a stop. Everyone around him clapped and cheered for him. He had been in a daze throughout the whole performance, so he hadn't noticed the small crowd gathering around him. He bowed slightly and moved away from the crowd towards the bar. He downed a glass of whisky and moved out of the club. He slowly moved towards the forest nearby.
He moved a bit further and then saw it.
A small cabin which was quite old and abandoned. No one has ever came to that part of the forest so no one knew about the cabin. It had become Hyunjin's comfort place. He would dance throughout the night and then go to the cabin and rest there.
There was no one nagging at him there. He would be all alone.
He lied down on the wooden floor. The cold floor grounding him. It calmed his nerves down.
He thought for a while. He couldn't remove Felix's face from his mind. He liked Felix. No!!
He LOVED Felix.
Hyunjin had never expressed his love for him ever. The next day was Felix's 21st birthday, so he planned to propose Felix on his birthday. He had bought a pendant and chain set for Felix as a gift.
He was ecstatic but also nervous.
He practiced his proposal for a while then he went towards his room in the pack house.
The next day, Hyunjin prepared himself. He was finally going to tell Felix about his feelings.
He looked out of the window. The pale crescent moon shone like a silvery claw in the night sky. It laid on a blanket of stars. Hyunjin smiled and moved out of his room.
He moved towards Felix's room. Just as soon as he was outside Felix's room, he heard some wierd noises coming from Felix's room. Hyunjin quietly opened the door a bit and peeked in.
He froze completely. His heart broke into a million pieces.
When he peeked in, he was greeted with the view of Chan and Felix having sex. The ground slipped from under Hyunjin's feet. He couldn't move away. Chan and Felix had not noticed Hyunjin at all.
Chan was thrusting into Felix repeatedly.
"My Baby, My Love happy birthday"
Felix moaned in response.
"H-hyung c-cl-close..."
"Yes baby, today is your day. Cum for me baby"
Chan thrusted hard inside Felix and then they both orgasmed.
Felix curled into Chan's chest.
"I love you hyung"
"I love you Lixie"
They were softly gazing at each other. Hyunjin quietly closed the door and went back to his room. He was devastated. He saw how Felix was looking so happy with Chan. He saw how they both looked at each other.
Why would he like someone like Hyunjin? Hyunjin is just a mere human, a disgusting one that is. Maybe Han was right after all.
Hyunjin cried the whole night curled up in his blankets. He didn't sneak out of his room that day.
Hyunjin stopped being affectionate to Felix after that incident. Felix asked him a lot of times about why Hyunjin was avoiding him. But Hyunjin would just ignore him.
Hyunjin became distant with everyone. He slowly spiralled into depression as the days progressed.
He also started cutting himself.
He would sneak out in the middle of the night to go and dance in the club. Dance was the only thing that distracted him from the pain in his heart.
Chan once entered his room in the middle of the night without knocking.
"Hyunjin, what is wrong with you? Why won't...."
Chan stopped speaking when he saw Hyunjin was at the window, ready to sneak out when Chan came abruptly.
"What are you doing?", Chan asked lowly.
"Can't you see what I am doing?" Hyunjin hadn't meant that to sound so harsh and rude. He was just frustrated.
Chan stalked towards him.
"Give some respect to me Hwang Hyunjin"
"Why should I, huh?!?"
Now Hyunjin actually meant it to sound rude.
"Behave Hyunjin" Chan said warningly.
"What you need to do right now is to get out, not to tell me what to do or what not to do"
They were now downright yelling at each other. The commotion woke others up. They came to his room to check what the whole commotion was about.
Hyunjin and Chan ignored the others and resumed their fight. Felix came in between them to stop them from fighting.
But at the heat of the moment, Hyunjin pushed Felix on the floor. That was the last straw for Chan as he completely exploded in anger thus slapping Hyunjin.
HARD.
The sound of the slap resonated throughout the room. Some of them gasped.
Han looked, no, stared at him while helping Felix up.
Everyone looked as if they were ready to kill Hyunjin for hurting their pup.
Their pup.
They had every right to be angry at him. He deserved to be beaten up. Felix was their family. But Hyunjin? Who was he to them?
A stranger. An intruder in their pack.
"Get out of my sight", growled Chan.
Hyunjin moved out of their way. He went out. No!! This time he didn't go to the club. He straight forward went to the cabin. He ran and ran until he reached the cottage.
Why was he getting a deja vu while running like that?
His cheek was swollen red. Chan's fingers were imprinted on his cheek.
When he reached the cabin, he curled into a small ball. He sobbed into his knees. He cried and cried till he had no tears left to cry.
He was not going to the pack house again. They won't accept his arrival anyway. He hurt Felix.
He HURT Felix.
He closed his eyes.
Everyone promises something.....just to break it.
Bang Chan- 'I would always protect you, Hyunnie. I promise.'
Felix- 'I would always love you and won't leave you alone. I promise.'
And most importantly the person he loved and missed the most, his BROTHER, his real hyung.
'I would never leave your side. I will always protect you Jinnie. I promise'
Why make promises that are meant to be broken?!??
