Chapter 12: 11. Invitation only
Bored out of my mind and cold to death I sit in the desk, sighing out loud I gently put my head on my arm.
Peaking through the little crack between my elbow and the desk I look at Nick, all the way across the room he's leaning back against his chair.
'I can't believe he got me into this mess, he is SO dead when we get out of here'
You might be thinking where's here?
Yeah I forgot to mention that we're currently stuck in detention, thanks to this stupid idiot.
"You gonna stare at me all day or-..."
Snapping out of my thoughts I quickly sit up, crossing my arms over my chest I scoff to myself.
"Eww don't flatter yourself"
He starts to chuckle, laughing loudly at what I said, his head is thrown back as his chest shakes from laughing.
Getting up from his seat he begins to walk towards me, sitting in the seat across from me he leans against his arm.
Staring at me with the same look from earlier in the cafe, my cheeks start to heat up as I stare back at him.
Memories from hours ago play through my mind like a movie.

"FOOD FIGHT!"
All the kids in the Cafeteria get up, grabbing anything that is close to them they all start throwing food.
Looking next to me I see Jake with the brightest smile on his face as he slings his spaghetti, watching it fly through the air as it lands on sams face.
Sam stops his movements as he brings his hand up towards his face, grabbing all the spaghetti from out of his hair he starts laughing.
His eyes start to crinkle at the corners as he laughs harder, his laughing becomes more quiet as he turns towards Jake, grabbing a piece of cake he says;
"JAKE! You better run!"
Jake let's out a loud scream, taking a step backwards with a smile on his face as Sam starts to run towards us.
Turning his head towards me his hand grabs my wrist, smile on his face as he pulls me saying,
"Let's go before he gets us!"
Laughing as he pulls on my arm, my body jerks towards Jake as sams cake flies past us and lands on Justin face.
He stops moving, his face holds an annoyed look but immediately turns into a smile as he looks at a laughing Sam .
"Ohhhh you're so DEAD!"
Justin takes off into a sprint towards Sam, slipping on a tray he crashes into Lima Bean, knocking them both to the floor.
Her loud screams cause me to laugh as I watch her covered in food and juice, stomping her feet and crying as she sits on the cafe floor.
My arm gets pulled suddenly as my body tumbles down, I close my eyes tightly as I prepare to land on the tile floor.
Coming in contact with something soft I open my eyes as I feel an arm come around my waist, my eyes meet a pair of deep brown ones.
Looking through my eyelashes I stare into the brown eyes, small pieces of gold flecks are found as I continue to stare into them.
His dark black lashes flutter against his cheekbones, his small nose rests just above his lips, they look soft as he runs his tongue over them.
His now wet lips open, as his deep voice says;
"Come here often?"
Nick !
'Eww I was NOT just ogling NICK'
Snapping out of my daydream I go to push myself off his chest, he lets out a grunt as I push on his stomach.
"No I DONT come here often, now let go of me!"
His arm tightens around my waist as he pulls me down again, I lay in his arms as he keeps looking at me.
"I don't think it's a good idea to get up again... you might get hit with something"
I ponder his words, taking them in and thinking to myself if I should listen to him or not.
"I-..
-think you might be right"
Laying in his embrace I let him hold me, my head rests against his chest, the loud yells continue throughout the cafeteria.
His warmth spreads throughout my body as his hot breath softly brushes my hair back tickling my face.
His fingers tighten around my waist as he holds me to him tighter, my mind wanders as I think to myself why is he suddenly acting like this.
'He was just being a total dick to me, why is he doing this now?
Is he-..
No way
He's not using this as an excuse to get closer is he?
Does he-..
does he like me?"
My thoughts come to an end as I hear the click of high heels come near us, pushing myself off of Nick I quickly get up.
Nick holds his hands out in front of him, I look at them and ignore his unasked question of help, facing forward I see the Vice Principle.
Stern look on her face as she scans the cafe, tapping her foot she places her hands on her waist.
"Anyone want to tell me who started this?"
My heart drops in my chest as the whole room becomes quiet, I clutch my hands into fists, scrapping my foot against the floor I go to step forward.
Nick beats me to it as he pushes his hand in-front of me, stopping me from moving forward he stands infront of me.
Clearing his throat he goes to tell her that it was him who started it.
Which is true but I did take part in starting it.
Pushing his hand down I stand next to him, he looks at me with a shocked face silently asking 'what the hell are you doing'.

And that ladies and gentlemen is how we ended up in Jail.
Well not jail but you get the point.
"You're both free to go"
I snap out of my thoughts as I face the teacher, standing up quickly I grab my bag from off the back of my chair.
The teacher leaves the room first leaving the door open for us, school has already been let out as I head towards the door.
Bumping into a hard chest I look up, standing infront of the door is a boy, he looks about a couple years younger.
He's very short so I could be wrong about his age, stepping out of his way I slide past him as he just stands in the doorway.
"Hey Niki! Wanna come to a pool party tonight? Everyone's coming"
I walk slowly as I catch their conversation, listening in as I walk down the corridor.
"Hey Thomas, uh yeah sure do you mind if I invite some people though?"
"Nah man, everyone's invited!"
I fasten my pace as I reach the school doors, I'm about to push them open as I hear someone call for me.
"HEY YOU! do you wanna come too?"
I turn my head slightly as I see the 'Thomas' boy shouting towards me, he has a very bright smile on his face.
It almost makes me feel bad about what I'm about to do.
"Yeah sure whatever"
His smile brightens as I go to turn around, not before I catch the annoyed look on Nick's face, swinging the doors open I leave the school.

Bouncing down the steps of the school I see my sister Kris waiting for me, hurrying over to her I swing my arm around her shoulder.
"Aweee you waited for me! How sweet"
She scoffs at me as she pushes my arm from around her shoulder, walking in the direction of our house.
"Shut up, I don't want to stay here all day, let alone on a Friday, besides we have a pool party to get ready for."
My eyebrows scrunch as I run to catch up to her, walking side by side now we make our way home.
"What do you mean pool party?"
I turn towards her as we walk, she starts to smile at me as she swings her arms back and forth besides her.
"Some little cute boy asked me if I wanted to go to a pool party tonight, and me being me I said yes!..... and you're coming!"
I fasten my pace as I see our house a couple feet away, running to the front door I pull out me key.
"Yeah I don't think so, I'd rather stay home and binge watch Love Alarm or something, I won't be caught dead going to a stupid pool party."
Swinging the door open I go inside, shutting the door on her just as she reaches the top of the steps.
