Chapter 102: Sale

VR version of me couldn't actually get hurt so I couldn't raise my damage resistance that way. I needed to pick a fight in real life, but who would I fight? I could piss off Luke again. That really wasn't a good idea though. With my recent spike in damage resistance there was a good chance Luke couldn't do any real damage anymore.

I could pick fights with second years, but I couldn't just make enemies with everybody. I settled into Goliath's lesson like usual, but today I wasn't thinking about his lessons. No today, I was debating on how I could start fights without letting people know who I was. Maybe I could wear a mask or something. I really wanted to level up again.

The growth in size was a decent advantage over many of my opponents. I considered discussing it over with Ethan tonight, but I didn't know if Savannah would agree to something like this. She wouldn't like me picking fights, but I really needed the boost in damage resistance. Even she could understand why I would want to be able to handle more damaging attacks. If I could explain to her how it would make it harder for people to hurt me.

All I had to do was get hurt first, and not die. It didn't matter how much I got hurt. Even if it was just a glancing blow. Even if it was only a scratch. All I needed was to take a little damage.

"Wyatt Nix," Goliath boomed my name, "Are you paying attention or do I need to do something to make you pay attention?"

"Sorry sir," I nodded, "I have a lot on my mind sir."

"Pay attention," Goliath started demonstrating some sort of move, "You might learn something from a veteran like me."

Goliath spent the whole club time trying to show us some hand to hand combat moves that supposedly worked well on anything. I tried to follow along with how little I cared at the moment. I started thinking about buying a mask, but I had almost no credits at the moment. Club ended up running a little late, and by then my gut felt almost as if it was eating itself. They didn't serve anything remotely meat related at breakfast except sausage, and bacon.

There was a limit of four pieces to each student. Not even worth my time really. I headed straight to the cafeteria with Savannah after we were dismissed. I served myself as much meat as they would let me take, and sat down at a table with Savannah. Ethan joined us when I was about halfway through my plate. I chuckled to myself when I saw the look on his face.

Ethan didn't look very happy at all. Some of his hair was singed, and his shirt was coated in dirt.

"What happened to you?" I spoke during a short moment when there wasn't meat in my mouth.

"My partner in class almost failed to stop me from getting scorched," Ethan grumped at me.

I could feel his irritation, and his fear, but it was being pushed back by his irritation at the moment. Good. It seemed like he was going to get over his phobia on his own for the most part. He wouldn't need me to hypnotize him pretty soon. I'd have to see how he was doing in the morning.

If fear could be pushed away from being his dominant emotion then we could do something with or without people watching. I needed him to be able to function with people watching because I wouldn't always be able to fix his emotional imbalance. Savannah was fine emotionally, but she lacked in power. She needed me to help her boost her power level. I flinched when my watch went off.

I was irritated it had interrupted my line of thought. I wiped the meat grease off my fingers onto the fabric of my pants. Turning my watch so I could look at the notification. It was an account notification from my credit account. It didn't show the contents so I was curious of what it was about.

Did I go negative on my credits? Opening up the notification quickly, and reading it. My eyes widened as I read, and reread the notification. I swallowed so fast I almost choked on the meat I was eating. My venom had sold for a hundred fifty thousand, and six hundred seventy three credits.

I couldn't believe someone would pay that much for a little over two ounces of liquid.

"You look surprised," Savannah clicked her nails on the table.

"We should talk back in the dorm," I answered, "This is personal business. The other students don't need to know about this."

"Does it have to do with that item you sold?" Savannah nodded slowly.

"Yes," I picked up my fork so I could finish eating, "Now let me finish eating."

First thing I would need to do with those credits would be to buy more uniforms before I ran out. I only had two left at this point. My thoughts veered back to how I was supposed to up my damage resistance. Standing up, and walking over to the bin to dump my dirty tray once I was finished with my food. It didn't take us long to get back to the dorms.

I went in first heading straight for my room to switch forms while Savannah, and Ethan closed the door behind us. I didn't pay much attention to which one actually closed the door. It didn't really matter. I laid down half in, and half out of my room like I usually did.

"So how much did you get for that venom of yours?" Savannah looked at Ethan knowing full well he wouldn't ask with her in the room.

"A hundred, and fifty thousand," I answered.

Savannah, and Ethan both looked as stunned as I felt when I'd first seen that huge number for something I produced naturally. It was an unbelievably large number. I'd never had so many credits in my entire life. If I sold a vail everyday I'd be a millionaire in less than two weeks. I wouldn't do that since it would draw way too much attention, but it was definitely something I could use in the future.
