Chapter 160: Rankings

Level 1-20 letter-less ranking.

Than there was D rank 1-10. D rank worlds rarely had any beasts higher than tier two. D rank faction members, and adventurers were rated to handle tier three beasts at the strongest. The closer a planets ranking was to the next rank the more higher level beast you would see.

C rank level 1-10 planets mostly had tier three beast, but their tier could be as high as six.

B rank level 1-10 planets had mainly tier five up to tier ten beasts.

A rank planets didn't have any beasts below tier eleven. The closer the planet was to level ten the more beasts there were that had reached tier twenty. A rank planets were deemed uninhabitable.

Then there were S rank planets. S rank planets were planets that usually had know intelligent Archaic races living there, and many intelligent Archaics outranked beasts. Not all naturally, but the lowest tier an intelligent adult Archaic species could be was fifteen. The problem with intelligent races wasn't their overall tiers. It was the fact that they could, and would team up if they needed help fighting a stronger opponent. S rank planets that didn't have intelligent races were often referred to as dark planets.

Faction, and Adventurer ranks were pretty similar to planet rankings. S ranks were basically nonexistent. Anyone who reached S rank was held in high regard. Their identities were often well kept secrets when, and if that was what they wanted. The ones that announced their high rank practically lived off the fame they gained by getting such an unreachable rank.

The four greats were considered S rank individuals. They were the four great pillars of the military. To a certain degree I wondered if their rank was for show, but whenever I got close to Savannah's father I was sure he could take on a tier-less beast. To me his power was so oppressive that I didn't think I would survive if we faced each other in battle. Honestly I figured running was my best option if he found out about me.

Ethan would come with me. There was no doubts or questions about that. I glanced over to Savannah. She was the one I was worried about. Our bond was slowly getting stronger, and I knew she wouldn't intentionally do anything to harm me, but intentional harm wasn't what I was worried about.

The club meeting was going to end soon. Goliath went into in depth about all the settlements on the planet, and how to find one in a pinch. I liked this side of Goliath. His genuine care, and concern for the students he taught.

"Nix," Goliath called me, "Stay after class. We have to work on your technique more before you start sparring Monday."

I nodded confirming that I heard, and understood what he's said.

"Do you want me to stay?" Savannah whispered.

"No," I smirked slightly, "It's just Goliath. He would have killed me already if that was what he wanted."

Savannah settled, and we waited for the club to be dismissed. Goliath was answering a few questions before letting us all go. I didn't really care. Most of the safety stuff didn't really apply to me. A quick switch to my dragon form, and I'd be twice as strong.

Covered in my own natural armor. I smirked mostly to myself. I was curious what he had in store for me this time. After Goliath dismissed everyone else we waited for the room to be completely empty. Goliath walked over to the door casually.

Locking it. That peaked my curiosity.

"What fun are we having today?" My expression stayed blank.

"Get comfortable," Goliath started up the simulation, "Lets see what you can really do."

"What?" My muscles coiled.

"I want to see what you can really do," Goliath was also wearing a deadpan expression, "I doubt you've been able to stretch those wings of yours properly."

I stood up slowly. My muscles were coiled. I could feel tension running through all of me. Even my mind felt tense, and my thoughts felt as if they were going too fast, and too slow at the same time. He wanted me to use my real body.

"What about my clothes?" I hesitated.

"I bought you a few extra sets to keep here," Goliath gestured to a duffel bag next to the desk.

"Why don't you just set up a portable changing station?" I stepped out of the rows of seats as I shifted to my dragon form.

Standing on the steps was kind of weird. I kind of wanted to turn around so I was facing up instead of down, but I was still pretty hesitant around Goliath in my dragon form. I was tempted to stretch my wings, but it felt almost as if I was waiting for his permission as I looked up at Goliath.

"Go on," Goliath finished setting up the same simulation I'd done earlier.

I jumped from where I was standing on the steps straight to the center of the simulation floor. Stumbling, and almost falling as I shook off the embarrassment. This was my real body so it hit me worse than when I normally stumbled. I frowned as I waited for the Bearook to start moving. The start sound went off as I crouched down, and growled at the Bearook.

Normally beasts would know not to fuck with something like me, but these aren't real beasts. I sprung forward. Grabbing two in my hands as my teeth clamped down on a third. Lashing my tail into the last two violently. I killed the three I had ahold of, and turned to go after the other two, but they were disabled.

"Boring," I lashed out at the one that was still able to move, but it was barely standing.

The last one was missing a leg, and the other three were broken. I snorted, and then inhaled slowly. I hadn't done this in a while, but I thought it might be kind of fun now that I wasn't on the brink of death. I snapped my head out breathing lightning at the last bearook. My aim was slightly off, but it more than did the trick as it shut down the entire simulation hall.
