Chapter 486: 2

"You want peace with the humans," His brow creased in confusion.

"And I would like to achieve it peacefully if at all possible," I shrugged, "If that doesn't work than I'm more than happy to use force."

"You want to rescue my mother on the chance that it'll be a good enough gesture to bring peace between you, and the humans," he looked down thoughtfully, "Why should I believe that you're capable of something on that large of a scale?"

"I'm not," I smiled at him, "Yet. Give me one year to prepare properly. I'm fine with settling for a temporary truce for now." I looked at the surrounding battlefield with some mild annoyance, before snapping my eyes back to him, "In the meantime I would like to make sure you do not betray me."

I stretched my mind out to the edge of my awareness to probe for the intrusion on my territory while still continuing my conversation with the boy.

"Consider it like a contract between the two of us," I shrugged, "I will not be able to harm you while this contract is in place, and you will not be able to harm me. I will always know your location, and I will be able to gain access to your thoughts if you think of betraying me in any way."

"So I'll be your slave instead of theirs," his expression remained sharp.

"Not exactly," I shrugged, "Why don't I show you?"

I'd never tried a contractual bond before, but I did understand how it worked. I held out my hand casually. Inviting him to take it in his own. He reached out hesitantly, and took my hand. A rush of power surged through me into his body.

The contract would be exactly as I described. Complete freedom to do as he wished as long as he didn't wish me harm. He yanked out of my grip, and stumbled back.

"This is a temporary contract," I cracked my neck as I adjusted to the strain of the contractual bond, "I would need a few drops of your blood to make the contract last longer then a week, but it prevents us from causing harm to each other. Outright betrayal will result in a break of contract, but I would think that you would want the protection."

My hand ignited in flames as I launched them at him. His arms went up as he tried to block my flames. My flames were too powerful for him to stop, but when they reached him they didn't cause him any harm. It took him a few seconds to realize that the flames weren't harming him, and he was still able to breath despite the flames that were incinerating the stone he was sitting on. I closed my hand, and cut off the stream of flames.

Instantly cooling the environment around him on instinct without needing to think much about it at all.

"Like I said," I reined in my aura, and looked to the south, "Complete protection from any ill will on my part in exchange for some loss of privacy. The contract I placed on you just now should only last a day. I have things to do in the meantime." A simple gesture allowed me to manipulate space easily, bringing Savannah right to me, "Keep an eye on him. No harm is to come to him." I turned my focus back to the boy, "Think it over."

I vanished into thin air a second later. Appearing among a group of humans that had dared to cross the wall in the meantime. The one in front of me shouted in fear when I appeared in front of him.

"I think it would be wise of you to turn back," I had my hands clasped behind my back casually as if I were out on a morning stroll, "You weren't invited into the territory, and the locals can be quite hostile."

"Who the fuck are you?" one of the bolder men shouted at me.

"My friends call me Wyatt," I smirked, "But you can call me Nix, or the storm king."

They were a but put off by my casual introduction, and complete lack of shits given as they aimed their weapons at me.

"The storm king?" the strongest woman in the group launched an attack to the left of my feet, "Awfully confident for some random guy in the woods."

"A warning shot," I cocked my head, "You clearly don't understand who you're dealing with. Leave now before I decide to make you leave. I don't usually have this much patience so I would prefer you leave before my patience runs out."

"You talk as if you own these woods," she snapped as she charge up another beam of energy.

"I do have dominion over these woods at the moment," I waved my hand casually, and the whole group was teleported right next to the wall, "Don't enter the woods again. I won't be so kind or considerate next time."

She launched her energy attack, and it struck my shoulder. Leaving a scorch mark that I casually wiped away. No harm had been done to my body in any way.

"Unfortunately I'm not that patient," I appeared in front of her.

A simple touch was all it took for me to launch her nearly twenty feet. That was all it took for the others to decide. They all attacked me at once. I switched to my true form midway through their attack. Swiping them all away from me with my tail with ease.

I growled at them, and they looked at me with fear in their eyes. Not just fear, but recognition. They had seen me before. Just not as a human. I was big enough to swallow one of them whole.

That realization finally dawned on me. I was at least thirty feet tall now. My talons were nearly as long as a human forearm. My legs were longer then these people were tall. My tail stretched an enormous thirty feet on its own.
