Chapter 369: 13

"What, do you want me to become one of your bonded?" Bryce asked.

"No," I chuckled, "I'm not ready for another bonded. I want you to bond to a hatchling."

"A hatchling?" he looked a bit surprised by this sudden revelation, "You mean there are more dragon eggs or did that little one..."

"There are more dragon eggs," I slammed my tail into the ground, "I want you to choose the one I'll be hatching next."

"Did you bring them with you?" Bryce looked at the others confused.

"No," I inhaled as I let Ethan go, "We're going to go to the eggs."

"Are they on this planet?" he asked in confusion.

"No," I smiled slowly, "They're on earth."

"Then how are we going to get to them from here?" Bryce looked at each of the people in the cave individually.

"Have you seen my spatial portals yet?" I chuckled, "I'm going to make one that extends all the way to earth."

"You can do that," he sounded as surprised as he looked.

"I've already done it more then once," I snorted.

Savannah was glaring at me now.

{Didn't I already tell you that I didn't think it was a good time to hatch another one,} Savannah grumbled at me mentally.

{Didn't I already say that it would never be a good time, and that we should just hatch drakelings whenever we can,} I shifted uneasily.

"You're doing that silent communication thing he mentioned," Bryce interrupted our mental communication.

"Let us talk to him without you here for a little while Wyatt," Savannah gestured toward the exit, "You haven't hunted properly in nearly a week. I'm sure you'd like to, and Bryce probably has questions for us he's not willing to ask us while you're here."

I started walking. Switching to human form caused all the air to rush toward me. I walked out of the cavern, and into the night. Grabbing my bag on the way past. There were other things I could do while alone as well.

I had to make ninety-nine more elemental crystals to make before I could advance my level in lightning fusion. I was also curious what would happen if two elemental crystals of the same kind were introduced to each other. I returned to dragon form, and laid the bag out a good distance from where I was going to attempt to make another crystal. I didn't want the crystal stealing the lightning mana I was going to use to create the crystal. I used the same posture that worked before.

I didn't want to sit here, and talk to Bryce. I'd wanted to go with Wyatt. Savannah insisted that I stay when I tried to leave. I stood by the door. Tapping my foot impatiently.

"Would you stop that, and sit down?" Savannah snapped.

I shifted my weight uneasily. My muscles tensed as I tried to keep myself calm.

"What's wrong with him?" Jax asked.

"Ethan was abused," Savannah answered, "Wyatt got him away from all that."

"Oh," Jax mumbled.

"You're the idiot that didn't bother to ask," I felt my face pull into a snarl.

"What about you?" Bryce gestured to Savannah, "Why did you bond to a dragon?"

"I'd be dead if I hadn't," Savannah shrugged, "He saved my life before we were bonded, and that over protective nature of his is the only reason I didn't get sold off as property. He wouldn't have been so protective if we weren't bonded. Jax is the only one that didn't have much of a choice."

"Why didn't he have a choice?" Bryce looked concerned now.

"I took a piece of him with me," Jax mumbled, "After he was nice enough to let me into his dream world. He woke up, and I was being tossed out. I clung to it instead of allowing myself to be thrown out."

Bryce nodded. He thought about it for a few minutes.

"Nix wants me to bond to a new dragon," he rubbed his head, "Why wouldn't he want me to bond to him?"

"Nix doesn't need another bonded right now," I shrugged, "He's maxed out right now. His mind can't handle another bonded."

I didn't like that he referred to him as Nix instead of Wyatt, but he knew him better as Nix so it wasn't all that surprising.

"We should call him back so he can take the first watch," I suggested.

"We will have to call him back, but not yet," Savannah frowned at me.

I shifted uneasily. I was getting used to talking to people, but that didn't mean I liked it. I'd much rather stay silent instead of talking to anyone. Wyatt was using a lot of magic right now. I could feel the strain over our bond.

He was so focused on the task that it was actually more difficult to read him then usual. I liked that he wanted to get stronger. Even if it made me even more useless to him. If he was stronger then he wouldn't need protection. He didn't need much protection now.

I sighed heavily. I didn't like being useless to him. I was nothing more then a mental aid to keep him from going into a rage. My muscles tensed as I tried to keep myself from going out to find him. How much work would I have to do to catch up to him?

I finished making a second elemental crystal. Heading back toward the cavern we were staying in was easy since it was still within my line of sight. I shrank back down to my human form, and walked back in calmly. A nice burn had settled into my muscles. I didn't know why my muscles burned since I'd only been using magic.

I would have to ask Regala about it later when I met her in the inner world again. Bryce was deep in thought. I went to the back of the cavern, and returned to my true form. My wings twitching as I settled.

"Are you sure we shouldn't close off the entrance?" Bryce whispered to Jax.

"So we can suffocate?" Savannah chuckled, "No thanks."
