Chapter 1: Just Married !
On this day, the social media pages of two very different people had one similar message. A wedding photo and a message which read,
' Hi everyone. Meet my husband/wife.'
The bride from the picture, dressed in an off white frilled skirt and top, short curled hair which was left open, minimal accessories , natural makeup and a wide smile, presented an effortless beauty. While the groom, almost a feet taller than the bride, dressed in a formal black shirt, all buttoned up and a black fitted pants, half a smile adorning his handsome visage, tilted his head just a little towards the bride. Just the sort of perfect wedding picture, people could hope for.
It is understood from their profiles that, the bride, Arya Mariyam, is 25, a medical student interested in crime fictions and thriller movies. Her friends include family, college, school mates and a couple of random people. Meanwhile the groom, Nikhil Thompson, is 27, a former entertainment journalist, currently the newly appointed President of the family business which is a chain of international schools, has a hobby of photography and has an avid following on various socialmedia platforms.
Anyway right after the message, all sorts of reactions also popped up, the majority being,
' What in the world !', (by the respective families and close friends)
followed by, ' congratulation & happy married life' , (mainly by 'a like doesn't cost anything anyway' others).
Two parties to whom these were addressed however went offline and therefore the pictures were circulated widely among their peers and all kinds of theories about the event came about,including the one where the both were secretly dating and eloped without their parents consent, some concerned people even wondering if the rushed marriage was due to.....?
The families of the both were in fact in disbelief too. Then they were lead to indignation followed by pure rage. I mean, yeah, their daughter was the paradigm of obedience while the son was 'al- bastardly' from birth, but still never limitless, like this ! The respective mothers mourned with silent tears, fathers cursed with saliva flying miles along, cousin brothers hid their smiles counting their own luck, cousin sisters gossiped within, waiting for their turns, underlining how 'charactor-full' themselves are to their families, while the aunties and uncles tried contacting the family homes of the two very special people of the day but only to hear the monotonous voice of a lady proclaiming, the number you have dialed is currently switched off.... The two culprits still remained MIA.
By the end of the day two families reached out to each other and found a consensus in waiting to find out how long are the two going to hide. The two fathers knocked their glasses with chilled whiskey and said silent cheers to the rising steam from their heads, while the mothers though sad, proceeded to discuss the next plausable steps and the explanations to the relatives to be handed out in short notice. Both of them finally decided to be greatful that at least their children didn't elope with some unknown species.
But somehow nobody could find the rationale behind such a surprise .
