River’s ears were shut now. Luke unlocked the car, dropping to the pavement.

“I’ll come see you tomorrow morning, okay?” Luke pushed the door shut and looked through the window separating them before shifting around the back of the vehicle to slip away.

Sure enough, Dale approached the car, able to see River sitting there once he was in front of it. He rushed to open the door.

“Sorry, I started feeling a little nauseous and I just didn’t move yet. I think I’m going to go back home, okay?” River smiled at him.
