Jacob's POV:

I couldn't believe his words and for the first time in my life, my heart skipped a beat. It was weird. I never felt like that ever before. I never got hurt or disappointed ever before because I had stopped feeling things long ago. After the incident that happened in my life, it changed everything. It had changed me completely. I had forgot how to feel things. I had forgot how I also had a heart in me. I had forgot empathy and compassion. I had forgot humanity like Allison said. However, after all these years, once again I felt something. It felt like something inside was constricting my heart but I didn't want to feel that way.

Taking a long breath, I blinked my eyes finally and looked up at Neil in shock.

"What? What did you say?" I asked in disbelief, rubbing my forehead with my fingertip.

"I'm saying that I like her, Jacob. I like her a lot. I want to marry her," he repeated earnestly and I shook my head in disbelief.
