Chapter 306: You are my home

As much as I wanted to enjoy this peaceful evening with Elena, Isabel and Lydia were doing their best to make that impossible.

Every time Elena and I tried to have a quiet moment, they managed to interrupt with some sarcastic comment or a playful jab.

Elena squeezed my hand, her soft laugh still echoing in my ears as Isabel and Lydia continued their banter on the other side of the couch. I could tell she found the whole thing amusing, but I was barely holding back my frustration.

The cuddling, the quiet intimacy everything I craved was slipping away with every snide remark Isabel threw our way.

Finally, I leaned close to Elena and whispered, "I'm going to lose it if they don't leave soon."

She grinned up at me, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "They're just teasing, Carmen. You know how they are."

"Yeah, but I'm seriously about to throw them out," I muttered, loud enough for both Isabel and Lydia to hear.
