Facing the pack of 20 plus unusual tier silver wolves, he couldn't help but smile. He had realized that he would easily be able to take on these silver wolves with his advanced martial arts skills so it would be boring, but he smiled because he would feel blood on his hands again after waiting 10 years.
In less than 2 seconds, he had swept through the pack of wolves leaving only 2 remaining survivors. Cowering out of fear, they ran back into the forest with their tails between their legs.
He then trudged deeper into the forest until he stumbled upon an ancient shrine. Just the pressure from the holy power that radiated off of the shrine was enough to make my knees go weak, but I endured and pushed open the doors of the shrine.
If he could see, then he would have seen a stunning view. The shrine was circular with pure white marble columns holding up the sealing. Furthermore, there was a hole in the sealing that let the moonlight in, casting everything into a luminary glow.
He walked around the shrine for a little bit to try and figure out what the purpose of the shrine was. He then tapped his foot against the floor and raised his eyebrows a little bit when he felt from the vibrations that there were words on the wall.
He immediately used wind magic to left his 10 year old body off of the ground and started tracing his fingers over the words. He quickly realized that this shrine was used for sacrifices to the moon god Luna.
As soon as he touched back down onto the floor, the shrine doors opened. He immediately melted into one of the column's shadows and watched a group of elves manhandle a little girl elf onto the altar.
He thought about trying to save the little girl, but weighing the pros over the cons was kind of hard. First off, elves where natural mages, and as they were in the Ancient Forest, the elves home, they had even greater power with the support of the forest. Secondly, all elves had strength that would rival 10 humans. Finally, elves' senses and perception were 20 times higher than a human's, how would a blind 10 year old boy be able to do anything to them?
Although even with all of these disadvantages, Taiga really wanted to fight them, as he hoped that they would give him a better fight than those damn dogs. He also wanted to save the little girl, as he had developed something of a sister complex after year fawning over Raia, so he couldn't even think about abandoning another little girl. Finally, there was the issue of Raia actually being destined to become a saint, and for his plans to work, he needed another person now.
Finally outweighing the pros, he tapped his foot silently against the marble floor and found the positions of all of the elves. He also "saw" the girl squirming on the altar trying to get away. "Seeing" that an elf was about to stab a knife into the little girl, he immediately went into action. He murmured
"Gentle Wind, first hidden form, Quiet Gale"
In the martial arts world back on Earth, hidden arts had been the pinnacle of martial arts, letting the user reach enlightenment in their specific form of martial arts. Gentle Wind had 10 hidden forms, but Taiga was only able to use the first form due to the weak structure of his 10 year old body.
Even though this was the weakest of the hidden forms, it was still incredibly strong and before the elves knew it all of them had been slain.
The elf that was on the altar had raised his knife and was about to plunge it into the little elf girl, but before he could do that, he felt a warm feeling in his chest. Looking down he saw a bloodied hand that had stabbed a hole right through his chest. He widened his eyes in shock, but then he lost all sense and then collapsed.
Wiping the blood off of of his hands, Taiga then went and sliced oped the cuffs of the chains holding the girl onto the altar. Realizing that she was free, she instinctively backed away from Taiga as in her eyes, he was a monster that had instantly slain a group of adult elves and was going to kill her next.
"Please relax, I mean you no harm" said Taiga as he raised his dark red hands into the air to show her that he really meant what he said.
The girl trembled at the sight of a little human boy that was unfazed by blood, talking in a language that she couldn't understand and she let her instincts take over and then bolted out of the shrine.
"Well there she goes!" mused Taiga as he laughed inwardly.
He then realized that he wasn't feeling mad anymore and returned home.
When he got home, he sensed in the air that the orphanage was in a state of panic with children rushing running around frantically. At first, he thought it was because of his 3 day disappearance, but that didn't seem to be the case as nobody called out to hime or reprimanded him. He then went to Raia's room to ask her what was happening.
You see, the thing is that in the orphanage, 5-10 boys had to sleep in a room together, but because there were drastically more boys than girls in the orphanage, there was only 2-3 girls per room.
When he was about to knock on the door, it suddenly opened and after a second he was hugged tightly.
"Tai, why did you leave all of a sudden, I was worried to death!" shouted Raia as she burst into tears in his arms.
"You were gone for so long I thought something bad had happened!" she then pulled away from hims and checked his body for wounds. Seeing that there were none, she relaxed more but than he felt an angry gaze on him.
He felt somebody punch his chest, and surprised, he immediately became defensive.
"Don't you ever leave me again you big meanie!" shouted Raia as she pummeled him.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, it won't happen again."
After hearing him say this, Raia's eyes immediately lit up and she patted the spot next to her on the bed.
"To make up for it, tell me where you've been."
He sighed as he knew that all Raia read was adventure stories in her free time and that she always wanted to be a hero. He reluctantly agreed and told her what happened to him, obviously, with a lot of it cut out and with some lies her and there to make the story more interesting.
"So let me get this straight, my dear brother went on an adventure, and neglected to bring his sister along!" shouted Raia as she started to punch him again.
"Take me with you next time!" she pleaded.
"Okay, Okay, I promise to take you next time."
He then asked her why everyone in the orphanage was panicking. He felt her widening her eyes as that created the smallest vibration in the air.
"You haven't heard! The king has declared that he will now be sending inquisitors to the farthest reaches of his kingdom each year to take away any 15 year old child that has even the slightest affinity for magic in them. They have these special stones that tell you what affinities you have!" she exclaimed.
This deeply troubled Taiga he now realized that he needed to somehow find a way to conceal the fact that he had a high affinity for dark magic.
"Furthermore, instead of just taking the magically "gifted" 15 year olds, they are also taking everybody else, making them miners, craftsmen, knights, and maids, it seems like no 15 year old escaped their grasps."
Using this information, Taiga was able to deduct that the orphanage was in a state of panic, due to the fact that the 15 year olds had been responsible for almost everything, from cooking, to cleaning, to taking side jobs to earn the orphanage some money. Now that a huge part of the Orphanage's workforce was gone, it could do nothing but fall into chaos.
He then realized that there were indeed dark days ahead for the orphanage.
