Chapter 10: Chapter 10 - after waking up: Embracing the Unknown in a World of Challenges

After waking up from my sleep, I immediately forced myself to open my eyes to observe my surroundings, afraid of what further misfortune might occur. Unconsciously, I activated Kenbunshoku Haki, an invisible defense mechanism that became my last weapon. The waves of observation swept through my surroundings, examining every corner, and it made me realize that I had been rescued from the clutches of pirates by the Marines.

However, even though I was saved, I felt something was wrong within me. The deep trauma I had experienced still haunted my mind, poisoning my heart with insurmountable fear. I didn't know when this fear would heal, or if it would heal at all.

Every time I pondered on the past, anxiety filled my heart. I tried to understand that only time could heal this emotional wound, but there were moments when my feelings got trapped in deep darkness, entangled in painful memories that I hoped to cast away.

Returning to the present, after observing my surroundings, I realized that the ship I was on was a Navy vessel. But even in an environment that should provide a sense of security, I couldn't breathe a sigh of relief. The haunting black shadows, damp and filled with suffering, still lingered in my mind.

I contemplated my fate and continued to fight against the shadows that engulfed my soul. Despite the bright aspects of my life, the trauma always overshadowed any potential happiness. I hoped that one day I could overcome this fear and find the lost peace. Only time would tell, and I was determined to keep moving forward, hoping that a bright light would illuminate my dark path.

After emerging from the subconscious dark thoughts I had, I looked around the room. Some other prisoners were still sleeping soundly, and small smiles on their faces warmed my heart. Unbeknownst to me, a smile formed on my lips as I witnessed that small happiness.

Carefully getting out of bed, I walked slowly to avoid disturbing others who were resting. I left the room and walked along the ship's corridor, feeling the gentle sea breeze sweep across my face.

Suddenly, I encountered a Navy member. His face lit up with joy upon seeing me.

"Do you need anything, young one?" the officer asked kindly.

I replied, "Sir, could you tell me the direction to the cafeteria? I'd like to get some food."

The officer laughed and said, "Hahaha, alright, come on, I'll take you there."

I smiled and thanked him.

We walked together until we reached the cafeteria. The officer guided me to the food counter and began filling a plate with a variety of dishes.

"Sir, I only need a little bit of food," I said, feeling embarrassed. "I don't want to trouble the people who saved me."

The officer laughed again, "Hahaha, relax, young one. Eat to your heart's content. Look at your thin body, you need to eat a lot to grow healthy and strong."

After handing me a plate full of food, the officer said that he had to return to work and fulfill his duties on the ship.

Embarrassment washed over me for having inconvenienced the officer. I wanted to apologize, but he just laughed and waved his hand, signaling me to quickly finish the food on my plate.

As I sat at a table with a full plate of food, my heart felt warm. I was touched by the kindness of the people around me, including the friendly smiling Navy officer. The food on the plate became more than just sustenance for my body. It symbolized the love and care they had given me after rescuing me.

While savoring each bite, small tears streamed down my cheeks. Unspoken gratitude and thankfulness filled my heart. I promised

myself that one day, I would repay this kindness by becoming a strong and useful person for others.

I finished every bite with a sense of gratitude, appreciating the life that had been given back to me.

After devouring my meal, my heart felt full and warm. As I placed the empty plate on the dirty dishes rack, I exited the cafeteria with a heart filled with enthusiasm, walking aimlessly.

My steps halted on the ship's main deck, amidst the hustle and bustle of Navy soldiers busy with their tasks. Seeing them full of determination and dedication, a sense of awe washed over me. I tried to keep my distance so as not to disturb those who were fighting for justice.

After walking to the side of the ship, I was captivated for a moment by the sight before me, gazing at the vast ocean. Its immeasurable blue and the gently shining sunlight enveloped its surface, touching my heart with sheer beauty. In the enchanting silence, words escaped my lips in a whisper, "Finally, I'm in the world I've always dreamed of, despite the obstacles I've faced."

An emotional tremor shook my body. I laughed with vibrations full of happiness and gratitude. This was the moment I had longed for, the opportunity to live my life in the world I had always dreamed of. Unconsciously, my hand gripped the ship's railing tightly, as if wanting to feel a connection with the natural forces surrounding me. I stood tall with unwavering determination, my once fragile heart now filled with renewed spirit and hope.

In the mesmerizing silence, I made a promise to myself to never give up, to face every adventure with an indomitable spirit. In this incredibly beautiful world, I prepared myself to confront challenges and move forward with unwavering confidence, pursuing my dreams in this new life.
