Chapter 80: The Turning Point (1)

Imani pressed her lips together and took in a deep breath as she stepped out of the bathroom after changing into pyjamas. Lucas was sitting on the bed with his back against the headboard, wearing only sweatpants, while working on his tablet and she closed the bathroom's door as quietly as she could so as not to attract attention but he still looked up.

She swallowed, plastering a smile on her face when he didn't look away and kept watching her as she walked towards the bed. "Hi." She had no idea why she said that and she mentally smacked herself while putting her knee on the right side of the bed, climbing up next to him.

"Hey," he replied, pulling his lower lip between his teeth as he took her in. She was wearing a silk short sleeve button-down top, which had two of the top buttons undone, and shorts and he had the sudden urge to reach out and feel how soft it was... maybe pull it off too.
