Chapter 78: Chaos.

After killing every demon that had reached the threshold and leaving only those who benefited society, while remaining unconscious to preserve the inspiration and wealth of experience for later enlightenment, Yoriichi opened his eyes after about a hundred years, exactly in the air above Toussaints, just before he stopped the world. As he prepared to allow time to resume its normal flow, he suddenly broke out in a cold sweat, his intuition blaring a dangerous alarm—not for himself, but for the people dear to him.

Looking at Ciri and Moiraine below and recalculating in his mind, Yoriichi let out a bitter laugh, finally realizing what Order and Chaos had been trying to tell him. Understanding that the bond of quantum consciousness between him and Rita, as well as Ember, would be broken if time continued as it was, he fell to the ground with tears streaming from his eyes.

Even though the physics of this world can accommodate his continued advancement toward the next step of evolution, the people around him cannot exist on the same quantum wavelength as him, because he is a different higher order being that already lived in different timescale units of scale measurement. It meant that if he continue the time as it was, Rita, Ember, and everyone else would instantly forget him like a blip of dream inside their consciousness.

Realizing that he will be alone for a very long time until someone reaches his level, Yoriichi lets himself fall into the agony of depression, knowing he is too foolish to understand what it means to be the highest. Observing the new energy, atoms, and wave functions inside his body—so alien to his classical physics—he realizes that he has been a dimwitted person.

Driven to achieve higher and higher levels without understanding the underlying principles of the fundamental forces of the universe—just to make his culling process faster, which he could have completed in a million years with patience—he became blind to the reason why Order and Chaos created the physics of this universe to be similar to his own.

Never understanding why there was a limit in the first place, as a result, by focusing solely on levels, he became a single-minded fool who never grasped the true meaning of fundamental forces or the meaning of life.

He had become no more than a machine that could only go higher and higher, without realizing that the beauty is not in the level but in living each stage to the fullest, since levels can be easily achieved once you know how to hack the system.

Chuckling bitterly to himself, Yoriichi realized he had forgotten the basics of being a hacker, having been consumed by the mere satisfaction of stepping into the next level and falling once again for the power-equals-competency ideology.

Tears continued to fall as the fear of loneliness crept in, threatening to destroy his mind, he then had a thought that led him to consider dulling the part of his amygdala responsible for emotion, thereby becoming a true machine and forsaking his human qualities.

This would render him incapable of quantum creativity, leaving him only able to draw in energy to achieve higher and higher levels, like a grown-up baby who can only sleep and eat while experiencing something only when they truly wake up.

Quantum calculations inside his mind revealed a possible route: if he made everyone the same level as him and synchronized their timescales with his, Yoriichi would never be alone. However, he then shook his head, not wanting to make this world like the Xianxia worlds.

Once someone becomes drunk on power, with their mind solely focused on reaching the next levels, they become too foolish to understand the underlying principles of their energy. They end up looking only at the sky, never considering the ground for the mathematical equations that could hack the system, becoming linear entities that cannot think creatively.

Another quantum calculation inside his mind revealed that if he created a System to provide energy to make everyone reach his level faster and faster, thereby gaining new friends, he would still face the same issue of linear progression.

This problem becomes more prominent, as he realizes they would eventually become grown-up spoiled children, with everything provided for them, from clothing to food. They would come to believe that these foods or powers were theirs and theirs alone, never understanding that they had been gradually manipulated throughout their lives, just as his three Sa'angreal might have done in one of the virtual futures. With manipulation would not even require a level of control as advanced as O'Dim's.

Another quantum calculation suggested that if he were to give them instant enlightenment, like how Buddha became enlightened under the Bodhi tree, he would never be alone. Yoriichi once again teared up and shook his head, knowing where this era of gods would lead.

With the same linear progression, but this time in the opposite direction—seeking to go downward rather than upward—everyone would eventually come to believe that reaching such a level was impossible in their lifetime. They would become no more than simple-minded folks like Felix, who leave everything to the gods. This would, in turn, dull civilization's pursuit of scientific advancement and their quest for understanding the truth of the universe, as the gap would seem insurmountable, extinguishing their flame of ambition in the process.

Thinking that maybe if he were selfish, he could trap Rita, Ember, Moiraine, and Ciri in his timescale, making them the only ones who lived in this world, Yoriichi chuckled, knowing he would become just like a devil or demon if he chose to do that. He would be dragging them down to a pit of time-temporal hell, with only their minds and thoughts as their friends and company, forsaking the beauty of human life once again.

Seeing that he still falls into the world of gray, but this time due to his own stupidity and ignorance, not truly realizing what it means to fall into Heisenberg's Quantum Uncertainty because he is too fixated on one property of the virtual computation, Yoriichi laughed toward the sky with tears of agony over his failed dance on the edge of the fire.

"Hahahahahahahaha! Is this what it means to be the Lord of Chaos?!"
