Chapter 4: Chapter 3

The crisp night sent chills down my spine. The night sky seemed empty, waiting, just like I was. Is he even coming?
Then, I see a shadow slinking into the light. Once it stepped right underneath the streetlight, I recognized Jeongguk's little face. He waved to me and started walking forward towards me.
"Hi!" I say cheerfully.
"Hey," he says, smiling. He looks so adorable, a little like a bunny.
"What do you want to do?"
"I don't know," he said. "I not been in America long time. I am Korean."
"/I'm Korean too! My parents are from Busan, and I was just there this summer./"
"/That's so cool. I'm from Busan too!" He smiled this time, his beautiful, angelic bunny smile shining./"
We talk for a long time to each other, exchanging funny stories and finding out more about each other's personalities. He is such a cute and amazing guy, and the more I learn about him, the more I fall in love with him. His demeanor reminds me a lot of Felix, and a sort of melancholy weighs on my chest, knowing that I would have to break up with him.
Jeon Jeongguk is two days older than me. He works in music production. He grew up in Busan, and even went to the same high school that my parents went to before they immigrated. I'm so happy that we have so much in common. However, he says that he needs to go back to Korea tomorrow.
"/Can we meet up early tomorrow before I leave?/" Jungkook asks as our time comes to a close.
"/I would love to, but wouldn't it be easier for you to focus on getting ready?/" I asked.
"/It's all right, I leave at 3 pm. We can still meet up for breakfast. You know, it's really important for us to spend time together so that our tattoos fully form. So, we can meet up here?/"
"/No, I'm going to be at my dorm in the city tomorrow,/" I pouted.
"/Then I'll go to the city./"
"/All right. I'll text you the address./"
And there he goes, running back into the shadows. I've met my mate. He is an amazing person. This is real. I'm going to see him tomorrow.

My manager picked me up again. "/How was the girl?/" he asks.
"/She was really nice,/" I smile, instantly reminiscing on the past hour.
"/You need to be careful,/" he says out of nowhere. "/Even if she is your mate, you can gain lots of backlash from fans. Does she even know who you are?/"
"/....No../"
"/You NEED to tell her! She needs to be aware of what she's getting into. Please, please tell her as soon as possible./"
"/Fine./"
The rest of the car ride was quiet and awkward. Once we got to the hotel, I pulled my hood over my head and ran quickly back to our room.
I slide my card into the slot and enter the room. My members greet me with smiles and questions about how my date went. I responded to all of their questions, laughing and chatting with them for a while.
And then - when everyone was talking about packing up tomorrow, I decided to mention that I was planning to meet up with Hana the next morning.
"/YOU WHAT!/" Jin yells throughout the room. He jumps up from his seat, looming over me.
"/I want to go to New York City and see Hana again,/" I say calmly, trying to keep my cool.
"/YOU CAN'T! WE'RE ON TOUR. NEVER FORGET THAT. YOU HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR WORK, NOT SOME GIRL!/"
"/Calm down Jinnie-hyung,/" Namjoon says, gently rubbing his back. "/Of course Jeongguk-ah wants to be with his mate, he has been searching for years and it doesn't help that his tattoo is like that. Unlike the rest of us, he needs to be around her to survive./" He looks at me with kind, sympathetic eyes.
"/Fine,/" Seokjin sighs, taking deep breaths to calm himself down. "/I'll ask Manager Sejin if you can go from 6 to 2 but afterward you need to be here right away so we can prepare. We're leaving tomorrow so you better say your goodbyes./"
"/Got it, hyung/" I said, trying to look as confident as I can.
I stood against the wall, listening to the murmurs coming from the room, trying to discern what they were saying. Each tick from my watch added to my anxiety. After a long 30 minutes of conversation, the pair finally walked out of Sejin's room.
"/You may go, but you can't be seen in public or it will ruin not only her life, but your own and I will drive you,/" said Sejin.
I can't wait, Hana.
