Synopsis

Rosemary was born into royalty, but unlike the princesses in fairy tales, she doesn't enjoy the perks that come with the title. In fact, she's looked down on by those around her for failing to live up to what her society expects of her as one born into the Kuroriku clan's main family, strength, durability, and vigor. Rosemary was born with a frail body and inadequate mana, not like the other members of her family who were all born with hardy bodies and vast potential.

The only ones around who seem to treat her nicely are her brother and his girlfriend, Artemia. Despite their moral support, Rose still desires to escape her unloving father and those around her who made her life a living hell. One day, the chance finally presents itself in the form of a tall, dark, and handsome upstart knight with a cold stare. Will she accept even though it might mean entering a loveless marriage. But, what if love were to bloom in the most unlikely of places? Or is that only a thing that happens in fairy tales?

Rose's her upbringing clearly took a number on her confidence and self-esteem. Her father is one of the worst I have read about. It is nice that her brother and his fiance are in her corner. Overall ,I have enjoyed this story.

Read up to Ch 161 (latest premium chapter as of this writing), it is very heavy with action scenes for a romance novel. Rose's subplot is more mundane, but it is a lot more personal as she tries to avoid having the little girl she's tutoring from enduring the pains she went to with others looking down on her for failing to live up to their expectations. Saffron and his colleagues subplot is where the action comes in. The scenes can get pretty intense. There have been times where it felt like characters might actually end up dying. Even Saffron isn't immune to it. Him, Gael, and Griff keep getting injured within inches of their lives.

This story is wholesome, easy to follow the plot, characters are loveable and the villian's are ready for the rubbish bin and have good backstories, the world setting is interesting. With different realms and their issues. If you have issues with names the audio easily helps you with that. Unique challenges as well for characters along with the usual relatable ones.

One thing this book can not be accused of is being overly simplified. Rose and the others certainly didn't get to leisurely scroll through life. There are many characters so I'm sure you'll find someone to like. enjoyable read.

Saffron and Rose have only interacted in person a few times during most of the book (at least up to 277), yet they somehow manage to be a cute couple from afar despite being recently wedded.

A good story with a lot of lovable characters, action, and romance (including some steamy scenes for those into that). Cyra, who appears to be the main antagonist is hateable. Eileen is pretty bad mean too. Somehow they manage to be charming in a villainous sort of way.

Rose's struggle with her family really hit me where it hurts. I'm glad that she still has a few people whom she can rely on. I honestly think that its better to have a few, true and loyal loved ones than to have an entire world that falsely adores you. Especially for someone who is genuinely scarred like Rose. I also like the background behind the kingdom's creation as well as the various abilities that some of the characters have. I'm a bit confused about the setting though, because there was mention of cars and phones, yet I had previously thought that the world was somewhat set in the Middle Ages. Or is it set in the beginning of the Modern Era?(say, maybe, something like the 1870s?) Otherwise, this honestly interested me.

This is my first time reading a story that uses a lot of first person perspective. Enjoyable and easy to read.

The contrast between this story and Novus Magus is interesting. Two very different stories from what I can tell. Whilst I haven't read all of this story, I think it has potential from what I've read thus far but it feels like it's missing something. What that is, I have no idea. Still, a good read, your imagery is great and the first-person storytelling makes it more personal. I like it.

This story originally began as a little extra to another one of my works (one I published over on WP). When I saw there was a competition about engaged marriage on here, I decided to expand that story I'd come up with into what it is now. While I didn't win said competition, I did get an offer to be contracted. Thanks all of you who have read it. I will continue to work to improve this story for your enjoyment. It's a story as full of action and fantasy as much at it is romance. So hopefully, there's something for readers to like about it ^^
