Chapter 43: The King's Deadly Offer

When Louisanna opened her eyes, she realized that she was not in the same room where she fainted earlier. The smell of the place wasn't alcohol that stings or a newly covered blanket, but a fragrant fabric scent.

"Ouch." Louisanna immediately closed her eyes as the white light coming from the ceiling gave her a headache. 

She roamed over the place and realized that she was back in her room. The sunlight cascaded by the window as the birds chipped in.

"It's already morning," she said before she stretched her arms, trying to ignore the little pain in her head.

Louisanna made her daily routine like something didn't happen last night. It was one of the ways how she coped with something horrible. 

She didn't even question herself on how she was able to go home. For Louisanna, there are some questions that were better left unanswered.

A day only has twenty-four hours, yet all of her miseries seemed to pile up yesterday.
