Chapter 6: Chapter Five
The Hargove house was empty except for Billy. Max sighed in relief. That meant she didn't have to find a way to sneak Lila inside. The two of them walked into the living room.
"Max?" Billy shouted from his room.
"Yeah, it's me." Max replied quickly rushing down the hall before Billy could catch them.
"I waited an hour outside waiting for you!" Billy roared grabbing Max's wrist.
"Where were you?"
Lila stood there, watching. Billy's hand was gripping Max's arm tightly. She didn't like it. He remined her of Papa.
"We went for a walk." Max said.
"You expect me to believe that?" Billy shouted, pushing her against the wall. "If sonething would have happened to you, it would've been my fault!"
"Billy, you're hurting me!" Max whimpered grabbing at his hand.
"You deserve it you little shit! You disobeyed me!" He screamed. Anger filled his eyes. He couldn't stand her. She had ruined his life in California and was continuing to in Hawkins.
"Billy, stop!" Max yelled causing Billy to grip her arm tightly.
Lila breathed heavily before gulping. She raised her hand at Billy before focusing on him.
Pain shot through his arm. He yelped in pain, letting go of Max's arm. He tried to shake away the stinging sensation.
"Did you do that you freak?" Billy yelled at Lila.
"Bad man!" Lila cried out continuing to hold her hand out. Billy cried out in pain, dropping to his knees.
"Okay! Stop!"
"Say sorry!" Lila said. Billy stood there, looking up at the girl in agony.
"Say sorry!" Lila screamed at him, tears brimming her eyes.
"I'm sorry!" He whimpered. "I'm sorry!"
Lila took her hand away before breathing heavily. Max stood there in shock. Lila looked at him with a weary look on her face.
"Your nose." Max pointed. Lila wiped the blood away with her hand before sniffling.
"Horrible." Lila said before walking into Max's room. Max followed after her, slamming the door in Billy's face.
He stood there, blinking. She'd just used mind to make him feel pain.
Lila sat on Max's bed, tears streaming down her face. She looked at Max's arm through her blurry vision. It was red and was starting to bruise. Lila grabbed and closed her eyes. She opened them and the arm was fine.
"There." She croaked wiping her eyes. "Better."
"Thank you, Lila." Max said softly smiling. "Billy is an asshole."
"Asshole." Lila nodded.

Lila woke up in the middle of the night needing to pee. She glanced at Max's digital clock. 4. 2. 7.
Max said after 12 that it was okay to leave the room since everyone would be asleep. She peeked around before exiting the room and walking into the bathroom. She flipped the light on and stared at herself. Pain filled her eyes as she reflected on her life.
She shook her head before using the bathroom. She washed her hands before flipping off the light and exiting.
She was met by a figure standing at the door. As she went to scream, a hand covered her mouth and pulled her into a room. Billy flipped on his light before looking his door.
"No." Lila hissed. "Max's room, now."
"I just wanted to say sorry." Billy said quietly. "I shouldn't have hurt Max."
"Bad man." Lila crossed her arms. Billy grabbed her wrist and Lila's eyes widened.
"Good man. Bad temper." He said pointing at himself.
"Temper?" Lila asked.
"Temper is like being really mad about something." Billy explained.
"Why?" Lila questioned.
"Bad things have happened to me." He sighed. "You wouldn't understand."
"Oh." Lila stated. She blinked at him before moving her hand to his face. "Pretty."
"Pretty." Billy smiled pointing at her.
"Thanks." Lila blushed. "Sorry for hurting."
"I deserved it." Billy said and Lila nodded.
"Gee, thanks." He laughed.
Lila shrugged. "Mean."
"Only sometimes." He rolled his eyes.
"Tired." Lila yawned. "Max's room."
"Go ahead." He said. "I just wanted to apologize."
Lila stood there a second before leaning towards Billy. There noses were inches away. Lila breathed heavily as Billy stared into her eyes.
Billy pressed his lips against hers. Sparks flew through their veins. Lila was shocked by the feeling. She jumped backwards.
"Woah."
"Sorry, you were just too pretty not to." He smirked at her. Lila raised her eyebrows before walking backwards towards his door.
"Max's room now."
