Chapter 140: Guardians of the Galaxy 1
As in the movie, Peter Quill was very quick and managed to use some alien technological objects to capture Ronan's servants and enter his ship. Ronan's servants tried to bring down the ship, but Peter evaded the attack with the ship and seemed to be able to escape.
But soon his ship was hit by a geyser, and Peter took some time to regain control of the ship and leave Morag. Natasha found it amusing to see the battle between people from other planets and became interested in energy weapons.
Jack thought the battle wasn't as exciting as in the movie because they couldn't see Peter Quill falling inside his ship and fighting to regain control. Soon Jack took Natasha to Xandar, which was the capital of the Nova Empire.
"We have some time here until that guy arrives. We're in Xandar, the capital of the Nova Empire. This is a place that shows how the universe far from Earth can be. It's a beautiful place full of alien technologies," Jack said.
"This really is a beautiful place, unlike anything I've seen on Earth and also unlike Asgard. Can we buy something here?" Natasha asked.
"Sure, just wait a moment," Jack said.
Jack didn't say anything and just used the Mind Stone and his bracelet to give EVE authority to hack Xandar's systems and steal billions of units and put them into an account created for him.
Jack didn't have a moral compass like the other people on Earth. He could avoid robbing banks and people on Earth, but he had no shame in robbing other planets in the universe that he didn't even know.
With the help of the Mind Stone, which was like the most powerful AI in the universe, EVE quickly managed to steal many billions of units for Jack. EVE also, with Jack's authorization, downloaded some data to improve her system and obtain information about creatures, aliens, places, planets, and other things that Xandar had.
"You can buy whatever you want and I'll pay for it," said Jack.
Natasha was happy, it was the first time she had been to a different planet in the universe, so she knew that the money here was different from Earth, but since Jack had Asgardian money, she thought he could have the money from this planet as well, and she was right.
Of course, Natasha couldn't imagine that in just a few minutes Jack had stolen billions of units from Xandar and some nearby planets. EVE only stole a few thousand units from millions of different accounts, so Xandar would never know how much money was stolen.
The clothing on Xandar wasn't so unusual, so Natasha and Jack just used the nanotechnology in their suits to copy the style of clothing and not look out of place. Jack warned that Natasha didn't need the helmet and could breathe normally on Xandar.
So they spent a few hours on Xandar and Natasha bought several different things from the stores. Jack could use his bracelet to pay with units. Jack thought for a moment and decided to buy a ship for himself.
Jack went to a place where EVE said he could order a ship and asked for a large ship with over 20 rooms that could make space jumps to distant planets.
Since this was a large ship and Jack requested it to be fast, with good energy weapons and able to make space jumps at the speed of light, the ship would be expensive, but it was only a few million units and Jack paid for it.
Ships weren't that expensive in space, only those that could survive in space and had space jumps were more expensive. That's why the Raiders had more than 50 ships. So Jack bought another 100 ships that only one person could fit in, for a possible war.
The alien who served him said it would take a few months, and Jack said it didn't matter. Jack also bought a house in Xandar and asked the alien to deliver the ship to his new house when it was ready.
As the laws in Xandar were strict, Jack was not afraid of being cheated. Even if he was, he could use the Mind Stone to find the thief and kill him afterward.
When Jack returned, he saw that Natasha was ready to buy more things. He paid for them, and they left happily. Jack stored Natasha's purchases in his storage space.
He took Natasha to the new house he bought, and she really liked the place. It was different and had a lot of technology in every room, just like Tony Stark's house. Unfortunately, Jack and Natasha couldn't read what was written.
Contrary to the movie, the people of Xandar didn't speak English. Everyone had a universal translator in their ear that allowed aliens to understand everything people said. Jack and Natasha bought one too, so they could talk and buy things.
The house Jack bought didn't have an English translation package, but that wasn't a problem for Jack. He had EVE take control of the house's technology and translated everything into English. That's why creating an AI was useful.
After a day, Jack finally felt with the Mind Stone that Peter Quill had arrived in Xandar. Jack was prepared to spend a few months in space, as things wouldn't happen as quickly as in the movie.
He and Natasha went out, and Natasha was surprised to see that Peter Quill actually looked like a human, unlike the other aliens on Xandar. Jack just laughed and said that not only did he look human, but he was half-human.
"So that's why we were watching him? Are we going to recruit him to be one of the Avengers?" asked Natasha.
"No, we're investigating him because he's in contact with some dangerous people. We're not here to help him, but to observe. The aliens we see, Ronan who's after the orb, Thanos who's also after the orb, the Kree, all of them could be a big threat to destroy the Earth in the future," said Jack.
Jack decided to tell Natasha something about the future as if it were part of his deductions. After all, after the Guardians of the Galaxy appeared, it might not take many years for Thanos to think about invading Earth.
Jack wanted that to take as long as possible, after all, he might still need a few years to improve his magic. He also needed to be stronger, and only then could he ensure that the Avengers would survive and that he wouldn't let too many humans die.

Time was on Jack's side, the longer it passed, the more people he could save. With the infinity stones, if it took 20 years, Jack could kill the Thanos from the comics and prevent any person on Earth from dying.
Natasha understood that Jack was following Peter Quill as part of his mission as an Avenger. After all, their duty as the Avengers was to protect Earth, and if people from distant planets could attack Earth, they had to investigate it.
Jack would return to Earth after the events of the Guardians of the Galaxy and show the Avengers the information that EVE had stolen from Xandar. The Avengers had to start preparing for the arrival of Thanos.
Soon, Jack and Natasha saw Peter enter a building and then be thrown out. Jack knew that Peter had failed to sell the power stone when he mentioned Ronan's name, and Gamora soon started fighting with Peter Quill.
Then Rocket and Groot arrived and joined the fight. Jack saw that only Drax was missing for the Guardians of the Galaxy to be complete, and they would find Drax when they were arrested. In a short time, the fight ended, and the Nova Corps police arrived and arrested the four.
Jack asked EVE to hack into the Nova Corps' systems and saw that the four would be transported to the high-security prison, Kyln. Jack had no interest in going there with Gamora and just asked EVE to hack all the cameras in the place.
So Jack bought some modern monitors in Xandar and went back to his house with Natasha. She didn't know why Jack wouldn't follow Peter and the others or even try to save them and just bought some monitors.
Soon Jack installed everything in one of the empty rooms, and the two watched the Kyln prison cameras on the screens. Jack saw that everything was working well and waited to turn them on when the Mind Stone told him that Peter had arrived at the prison.
"I hacked the cameras in the prison where those people would be taken. I think some of the people we were waiting for are going after them in the prison, so we can learn more information about them," said Jack.
"If the Kree, Ronan, and Thanos are so dangerous, why don't the police we saw try to arrest them?" asked Natasha.
"Those policemen we saw are the Nova Corps, a type of galactic police. Xandar, where we are, has just formed an alliance with the Kree. The Kree Empire is very powerful and they have destroyed several planets like Earth in the past," said Jack.
"Even after this alliance, Ronan, who is a Kree, has been destroying many planets and massacring all the people on those planets, women, children, he doesn't care. But the Nova Corps is not capable of arresting him because Ronan is too powerful, and he is just one Kree," said Jack.
Hearing this, Natasha shuddered. She saw the many spacecraft that the Nova Corps had, and she knew that if Xandar had thousands of these ships, they could easily destroy Earth if the Avengers didn't participate in the fight.
If Ronan alone already scared them, then Natasha couldn't even imagine the power that the Kree Empire could have. Surely the Kree Empire was a major threat that could easily destroy Earth if not for the Avengers.
"Thanos is currently an ally of Ronan. He wants what's inside that orb and promised to destroy Xandar for Ronan if he gave the orb to Thanos. Thanos' daughters are with Ronan as part of the agreement," said Jack.
"That man we were following is named Peter Quill. The woman who fought with him is named Gamora. She is Thanos' daughter. The small one is called Rocket, and the tree is called Groot," explained Jack.
"As I told you, Ronan who is already powerful asked for Thanos' help to destroy Xandar. Thanos is called the Mad Titan, he is immortal in the sense of having an endless life expectancy, has Nigh-invulnerability, has speed and strength several times greater than yours," said Jack.
"In addition, Thanos is the leader of the Chitauri army that attacked Earth and it was he who gave the scepter to Loki. As you can see, he already knows about Earth and may think about attacking Earth at any time, so we came to investigate them," said Jack.
Natasha became even more tense knowing that Thanos was so powerful and the leader of the Chitauri, part of the Chitauri invaded Earth and they almost destroyed New York. Natasha couldn't even imagine what would happen if the entire army invaded Earth.
"Don't worry, the Avengers can stop them if anything happens. Me, Thor, Wanda, and Hulk can stop Thanos and the most powerful ones. Asgard can also help if anything happens." said Jack.
After waiting for a few hours, Jack felt through the mind stone that Peter Quill had arrived at the prison, so he turned on the monitors and asked EVE to show only the cameras connected to the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Soon the cameras and audio system were turned on and they could hear everything Peter and the others were saying. Rocket boasted about escaping from 22 prisons and that he would escape from this one and take Peter Quill to get Yondu's reward.
So Jack and Natasha followed the day of the Guardians of the Galaxy, only Drax did not appear on the cameras because EVE had not recognized him as part of the group. Natasha was curious to see the story of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Natasha saw when they arrived at the prison and several people calling Gamora a killer and saying they would kill her. Natasha thought that if she hadn't joined S.H.I.E.L.D. and was in space and was arrested, many people would treat her like that.
Of course, Jack knew it was different, Gamora was the daughter of Thanos and an ally of Ronan, two genocidal maniacs and not common criminals, even if Gamora wasn't evil, she personally killed many more innocents than Natasha did.
Night fell and the criminals took Gamora from her cell to kill her, Natasha saw Drax joining the team after giving up on killing Gamora and Peter Quill going to try to help her. Soon they said they would sell the orb for 4 billion units and all the Guardians of the Galaxy were surprised.
