The warmth of the bed and the softness of the pillow held me in a state somewhere between sleep and wakefulness, where reality blurred with memories and dreams. In this hazy realm, I could feel her presence—Lena. She was close, so close I could almost smell her familiar scent.

It was intoxicating, pulling me deeper into the dream.

In my mind, she leaned over me, her touch gentle as her fingers brushed against my cheek with a tenderness that made my heart ache. I reached out instinctively, wanting to capture this moment, to hold on to her for just a little longer.

But then, a soft voice cut through the fog. “Eason, what are you doing?”

My eyes snapped open, the remnants of sleep vanishing instantly. My hand was still outstretched, hovering inches from Lena’s face. She was right there, looking at me with a mix of surprise and confusion. The sudden realization that this wasn’t a dream jolted me fully awake.
