Chapter 2: I Got You Showers
As Xavier drove off, he thought, 'what is actually going on with me, why do I feel connected to her, this is so unlike me!!!'
His palms were sweaty and he was nervous. 'What if she isn't at home, what if she doesn't open the door for me, what if she's with someone and it would be difficult for her to let me in'
Suddenly droplets of water started falling on his windshield. The droplets turned into heavy rainfall.
"damn!"
It was raining and he couldn't turn back because he was determined to give her the flowers so he kept on driving and finally arrived at her home.
Xavier waited in his car and began thinking of what he was gonna say to her when he saw her but nothing came up.
Five minutes later, he got out of the car and headed for the front porch.
He hesitated for a while and rang the doorbell three times and waited. He didn't even mind that he was soaking wet or that he was here by that time.
Xavier looked at his watch. It was 9:47pm. 'What if she's already asleep?'
He rang the doorbell again and waited. Finally he heard footsteps coming from inside.

Zuri had just finished clearing the plates that she and Tansy used to eat from the dining table.
She thought Tansy had forgotten something and she smiled,
"she's always forgetting something"
Zuri was still cautious and decided to check the porch security footage.
When Zuri saw who was standing there, she thought she was seeing things because of the alcohol she drank.
She rubbed her eyes vigorously but the person was still there.
'i don't think it's alcohol... I have high tolerance and I only had one glass... that means the person outside is real'
Zuri was contemplating on whether to open the door or not but as she saw the person outside, her expression softened a little.
He was soaking wet and got more wet because it was still raining.
Zuri rearranged her expression and slowly opened the door,
They both stared at each other and only the sound of the rain drops could be heard.
Xavier, who had practiced what he was going to say when he saw her, was just staring at her in awe.
Zuri had an annoyed look on her face but she still let him in so that he won't catch a cold.
Zuri was wondering why Xavier was staring at her like that when she realized what she was wearing.
She wore only a big t-shirt and track shorts underneath but from another person's point of view it seemed like she didn't wear anything underneath. She became red in the face.
Zuri told Xavier to sit on the couch and she rushed to her room to change.
She eventually came out after a few minutes, wearing her normal pajamas and sat opposite him.
Xavier was still in a dazed state, when he heard Zuri's voice,
"So do you mind telling me why the almighty CEO of Flinx Corporations was standing on my porch by this time under the rain?"
Xavier snapped back to reality and quickly replied in a flushed state,
"I-I got you showers!"
"..."
He showed her the flowers and quickly corrected himself,
"sorry I mean flowers"
Zuri raised her eyebrows at him,
"... why?"
He was still holding the flowers as he answered,
"I realized that I didn't really apologize for sending Michael to follow you"
Zuri was both confused and surprised. This man before her was basically the most feared and influential man in the country but here he was, giving her flowers and apologizing for something she had already forgotten and he even came under the rain.
She quietly took the flowers from his hand to ease his awkwardness and stared intently at him but it made more awkward. She then mumbled something,
"Why do you look so much like him"
Xavier who had actually heard her, asked
"him? who?"
"oh... no one"
Zuri had a sad look in her eyes and she stood up and went to place the flowers on the kitchen counter.
When she turned around, Xavier had already gotten up and was looking at the pictures in the house.
"woah is this you?", he was smiling as he pointed at her in a group photo.
"turns out you were cute even as a child"
Zuri just smiled and returned to her couch. Xavier continued looking at the group photo and he pointed at a boy,
"Is this the person you said I looked like?", he was shocked.
"oh... well yes", her eyes suddenly landed on his collar bone. He was bending so it was easy to see that there was a familiar looking chain around his neck.
Zuri was momentarily startled because she had flashbacks from her childhood. She snapped back when she heard Xavier groaning and clutching his head,
"Ahhh, my head!!"
Zuri jumped from her couch and dashed to his side. She managed to get him to sit on the couch and went to bring some painkillers.
He refused to take them, saying he never liked taking pills but she forced him and he took it.
After about five minutes, his head ache subsided.
"I'm sorry about this... I really don't know why I suddenly had a headache... as I stared at the boy a little longer, it started"
Zuri softened a little and replied,
"it's probably because you might have caught a cold"
"yeah... I actually saw some things while my eyes were closed... but the figures were blurry"
"No worries... you just need to rest"
Xavier stood up and proceeded to the door. He turned around and looked at her,
"I'm still sorry about this incident and the previous one"
"... it's alright"
"I also hope that we can actually become friends"
Zuri rolled her eyes and sighed,
"I'll think about it"
