Chapter 7: E-hailing

Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

"There's a crew coming over to our Zhou City soon for filming.

"I have a way in. We can get in and play a few extra roles, so, are you interested?

"200 yuan per day. It includes lunch.

"This isn't the point though; the point is I can see my goddess, Ye Qianqi!"

Rich Man Dong said pervertedly over the phone.

Rich Man Dong's full name was Lu Dong. He was the Lu of Lu Bu, the famous general in history, and Dong meant the rising sun in the east. That was how he would proudly introduce himself to others. Before Fang Zheng quit his job, he was the co-worker closest to him.

His nickname was well-fit; his family was rich. His father was the owner of a medical devices company, and his mother was a lecturer—his family had perfect DNA.

The roads were quiet after 10pm. The darkness drew people's shadows longer than ever.

Fang Zheng said in disbelief, "Isn't your goddess the new principal at the university your mom is teaching in who started six months ago?"

"Of course she's my goddess as well, but Ye Qianqi is the first goddess I've ever known," Rich Man Dong said shamelessly. He sounded so self-righteous.

"Haha," Fang Zheng said to Rich Man Dong, "The thickness of your skin is something else."

"Instead of worrying about me, why don't you worry about yourself? Ever since you quit the job, Fang Fang--"

Beep, beep!

The line was cut off.

Fang Zheng had hung up on him.

A few seconds later, Rich Man Dong called Fang Zheng again.

"Little rascal, why did you hang up on m--"

Beep, beep!

The line was cut off again.

After setting a time with Lu Dong, Fang Zheng did not go home right away. He waited for an e-hailing ride alone.

Fang Zheng was fresh off having a taste of the training in the morning. He wanted to go to the People's Hospital again to see if he could absorb the mysterious white smoke he had seen before.

Just then, a piece of local news made headlines.

Last night, a mechanic from a 4S store specializing in luxury brand cars stole and drove a customer's car worth ten million dollars up into the mountains for a race. The mechanic lost control of the car at a sharp corner and collided into a partition, falling off the slope and dying instantly in the crash that destroyed the car completely. The owner of the vehicle has begun legal proceedings against the 4S store for financial compensation.

Vroom! Vroom! Vroom, vroom!

The roar of an engine cut through the peace of the night like the rumble of a beast. It was coming from a junction in the road.

An imperious golden race car stopped beside Fang Zheng.

"Are you the one who booked the e-hailing ride?" A blond-haired young man, who looked to be in his twenties, asked Fang Zheng from the driver's seat of the Lamborghini.

Fang Zheng was stunned looking at the Lamborghini before him, one of the best race cars in the world. He did not reply right away.

"Are you going to the People's Hospital?"

The blond-haired man asked the stunned Fang Zheng again.

Fang Zheng finally snapped out of it and said, awe-struck, "It's really true; there are rich men who join e-hailing just to get girls.

"Rich man, is this a Lamborghini?"

The blond-haired man was a little cold toward Fang Zheng. Maybe it was because he was not a woman. He said apathetically, "Yes."

"Rich man, may I know which model this Lamborghini is? I'm a villager, I only recognized the bull on the logo." Fang Zheng was as curious as anyone who was met with a race car. He walked around the car.

"Don't touch it. If anything happens, you would have to sell your house to afford the car paint." The blond-haired man was a little peeved—maybe because he did not get a young girl.

"Aventador."

Fang Zheng looked it up on his phone. "The highest specs cost over ten million dollars!

"Rich man, does your model have the highest specs?

"I heard that the wing mirror costs as much as the down payment for a house."

Fang Zheng was surprised and excited as he carefully touched the side mirror.

Clack!

The right wing mirror on the Lamborghini broke off in Fang Zheng's hand.

The blond-haired man was stunned.

He did not expect to have such an accident. He looked at the mirror in Fang Zheng's hand in shock.

Fang Zheng held the side mirror in his hand and said innocently, "Rich man, do all mirrors of race cars work like toys that one could just easily pull out?"

Had it been anyone else, there would be panic after having just ruined the mirror of a race car.

A mirror of a race car in exchange for a house—it was no exaggeration.

If you ruined someone's rearview mirror, you would have to sell your house to compensate him, and your wife and son would have to take the last name of another man.

This was why many people complained about race cars on the road. If the paint was chipped, it would cost a few hundred thousand dollars; those who had to pay over a million dollars went bankrupt from it.

Fang Zheng should have been panicking from the compensation waiting for him. Instead, he squatted down, hugged a tire, and pulled it out.

Bang!

The Lamborghini landed hard on the tar road after losing its balance. It became a handicapped race car, and the tire was in Fang Zheng's arms.

This was not just about selling a house anymore!

He had to compensate for half the car!

"It's true, it's like a toy car that can be taken apart. Of course it's a luxury car, this is crazy technology," Fang Zheng exclaimed; he did not realize that he was taking apart a ten million dollars' worth of a race car.

The blond-haired man in the driver's seat only snapped out of it after the body of the car tipped over. He was furious.

"Little rascal, are you trying to find trouble?!"

However, at this moment, the golden Lamborghini was about to be taken apart further — Fang Zheng pulled out a car door, a rear spoiler, an exhaust pipe, and another tire.

Now he planned to pull the hood of the car.

The blond-haired man, who had been in the car the whole time, was thoroughly angry. Still, he did not get out of the car; he swallowed his anger and remained inside. At that moment, the blond-haired man seemed extra vicious and dark in the driver's seat, the dull, yellow streetlights adding to his menacing aura.

"When the motor started, your parents had already wasted their efforts in raising you. If you drove this right, you'd have gotten home for dinner, but when you drove it wrong, the whole village had to go for a meal at your house. A professional stays alive, and if he screws up, he stays in the underworld. He lays in the morgue, and his video stays alive. Did you drive it wrong?" Fang Zheng stared at the blond-haired man in the car.

The blonde in the driver's seat started panicking.

Fang Zheng, who had been taking the luxury car apart violently, was not worried one bit; instead, it was the owner of the car who was anxious.

Vroom! Vroom! Vroom, vroom!

The engine started and let out sounds like a beast's roars. It was considerably loud amidst the peaceful night.

The blond-haired man started the engine of the race car.

This time, however, things were different. Fire came spewing out of the engine, and the entire body of the car was on fire. It became a burning Hell Car.

It looked like the cousin of Nicholas Cage's Hell Cycle in Ghost Rider.

The blond-haired man in the driver's seat was on fire as well.

"Die!" The Ghost Driver growled as he tried to grab the steering wheel to kill Fang Zheng with the demonic car.

Then!

"Where's my steering wheel?"

The Ghost Driver stared at the steering wheel in Fang Zheng's hand. He was stunned.
