"I remember," I said slowly walking towards him, "you and I....together ."
"Rose?"
"Why did you erase yourself from my memory?" I asked feeling tears falling from my eyes as I stood in front of him, "and you did it the night after we..." I couldn't no longer speak, it was like a frog was stuck in my throat.
"I wanted to protect you. The vamps who killed your parents didn't finished the job, they was suppose to kill all three of you, but you got away. Your mother was smart to cast a spell to hide your immortality by turning you into a human but that wasn't going to be enough if I stayed around." Ascelin said, "they wouldn't be able to find you if you was completely erased from our world."
"Then why are you here now? I'm still in danger, am I?" I said angry that he made that decision on his own without asking me.
"I wasn't prepared to protect you back then, I was still a young vamp," Ascelin said grabbing my hand with a strong hold forcing me to look up at him, "but now I am and I vow on my love for you that I will never leave you again and that I will protect you."
"How did you make me look ten?"
"I simply spell Sydney used," Ascelin said.
"So you ordered her to be my friend..."
"No, she offered," Ascelin said with the kindness of eyes, "she thought you will need a friend through this. Did she?"
"Did she what?" I asked.
"Become your friend?" He said.
"My best friend, I could always count on her," I said feeling terrible for the way I've been treating her lately. We definitely need to talk when I get back.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"What?"
"Can you kiss me like I remember you can?" I said boldly and Ascelin smiled. He grabbed the back of my neck pulling me ever so close to him and plant one right on my lips. It took everything in my power to not jump his bones. It's like Cupid just hit me with an arrow and all I feel in my body is love for Ascelin.
"Ascelin..." I moaned placing my hands on both side of his face kissing him deeper. His hands slide down to hold my waist pulling my lower half into his. His tongue met mine and we start to dance in a wonder melody. When I got to the point I could barely breathe Ascelin pulled away.
"Is that what you remember?" Ascelin said looking down at me.
"Much more," I smiled, "I never want to forget you again."
"I'm sorry. Rose, you can't tell anyone about this," Ascelin said grabbing my hand and I frowned. I didn't know he took us back to the mansion until he let go of my hand and I finally see that we was probably in his office.
"Why?" I breathe out.
"It's best for now that nobody knows how far we actually go back. The less people know the better." He said going to shut his office door.
The information that has been giving to me, I'm trying to piece together figure out who am I and what has been going on around me. So far I've found out that 1.) I'm a vampire, but I cannot remember anything from when I was one, unless Ascelin shows me, 2.) my parents were killed, but I got out and was turned into an mortal, 3.) my ex-vampire boyfriend, that I didn't remember at first because he made me forget about him, decide to come back to protect me from something, which also revealed my best friend had been lying to me for eight years, and 4.) Ascelin don't want me to be a vampire again. Things are still not adding up and I need to find the connection to all of this. First, I need to find out why Ascelin don't want me to be a vampire.
"Why can't I just turn back into a vampire? I wouldn't be this weak human being that you have to protect, I can actually be of help," I said being logical. If I'm really a vampire why can't Ascelin just turn me back into one, then I will be able to take care of myself and more importantly find the people who killed my parents and get my revenge.
"I wish it was that easy?" Ascelin smiled simply walking over to his bar and pour him a glass of bourbon before walking over to his window.
"What do you mean? Sydney switched back into a vampire, no problem..."
"Sydney used an illusion spell, your mother did a much more powerful cast spell," Ascelin sighed looking out the window, "and she made sure that there's only one way to turn you back into a vampire."
"And that is?"
Ascelin turned to look at me drinking the rest of his drink before going to sit at his desk.
'He doesn't want to tell me?' I thought, looking at the ground then over at him.
"Let's not discuss this any further," he said.
Whatever have to happen in order for me to turn back into a vampire, Ascelin fears it. If Ascelin fears the one thing that turn me back then maybe I should reconsider all of this. I slowly walk over to Ascelin defeatedly.
"You're scared that it might hurt me," I mumbled sitting on his lap facing. My arms wrapped around his neck, "I'm sorry, I trust you, and I know that when the time is right you will turn me back to what I'm truly am."
"Now I have to do a better job of controlling my urge," Ascelin hissed gripping my hips, my chest collide with his.
"What urge?" I gasped running my fingers through his hair, remembering that he loved when I played with his hair.
"The lustful urge to not throw you on this desk and make sure that we catch up on the eight years that we wasn't together," Ascelin said.
"You can't tell me in eight years, you didn't find another girl to release your urge whether for just pleasure or not?" I said smiling down at him, "vampires are so sexual oriented that it's impossible for them to go without sex for a long period of time."
"Who could ever come even close to you that I wake up one morning with someone else, other then you, laying next to me.," Ascelin whispered, his lips was centimeters from mine teasing me like he always did. I smiled as my eyes searched his, "no one, Love."
"Well, I can't say the same thing, but then again I didn't know I had a boyfriend," I said running my finger down his face.
"Boyfriend? You never like that word when you was a..." but he stopped clearing his throat.
"What? You can't talk about memories from when I was a vampire? You know I don't remember anything from my vampire life unless you show me." I said.
"Don't worry, eventually you'll remember," he said kissing my lips slowly. I see that Ascelin wouldn't tell me anything unless I ask the right questions.
Fine, two can play at that game!
"I should go talk to Sydney. If she has to go with me to my mom and dad's house then I don't want it to be awkward."
"Perfect timing!" Ascelin said standing us both up when there was a knock at the door. Ascelin said come in and Sydney walked through the door.
"Lord Ascelin...."
"Rose want to talk, whatever you need to say to me can wait." Ascelin said cutting her off.
"Really?" Sydney smiled looking over at me.
"The least I can do is hear you out, you are my best friend...my only friend." I said.
"I'll be downstairs," Ascelin said leaving us alone to figure out where we're going from here.
