I read up to ch 620+ in patreon. Pro: - Steady progression, his system panel only shows his progress and nothing else. - Smart MC, knows how to prioritize. Cons: - 600 chapters of war arc, so mostly fights and training. Almost zero character interactions besides issuing and receiveing orders. - Almost no payoff. MC has no one, even among his clan he barely has any connection to them. - Names changes a lot. - I got to ch 620+ coz' I skipped almost 250 chapters, and y'know what? I think I didn't miss anything of sifnificance.

ive read this mtl novel till the latest chapter (as of date 14/01/25: chp 659) and im gonna review this infer to the google translated/mtl version and not the current poster version to let y'all know what to expect currently. I'll currently divide the story into 3 big arc of the story without too much spoilers arc 1: the first 100 chp this arc focus on laying mc character design and combat foundation before the start of the great ninja war. arc 2 the great ninja war (ends at chp 645) in this arc, you will mostly see a cycle of mc fights, mc train, mc upgrade, repeat from the start with some occasional intrigue/strategic deployment against the root and other ninja villages sprinkled throughout to keep you out of the occasional boredom and frustration at the later stages of the war. yes you read it right, this arc is somewhat problematic in its delivery at the later stages of the war as many times author failed to show mc evolution in a satisfying way. most of the fight that mc do is mostly a sword fight with sharingan genjutsu + rasengan as supplement and scattered a few other jutsus in between. can you believe it that after maximizing many jutsus to perfection and with chakra and physique that is is practically at the kage level, he still somewhat struggled against jonins and it feels like he rarely use jutsus. maybe it's author consideration of mc philosophy in trying to prevent more intrigue from root by paddling during fights but i couldn't help but curse as i read mc with his kage level physique + his sword coated with wind chakra jutsu (more or less refer to danzo wind kunai) can't cut through opponents who blocks with kunai. i knew he was 12yo but dayum bro arc 3 return from konoha the story starts to heat up again as mc about to deal with danzo and is currently fighting against him. my honest opinion, this is a good novel but the later stages of arc 2 can be occasionally skipped during some of the relatively generic fight/war scene. some strategic war fight feels pretty good tho

I will say its not everyone's cup of tea. the story gets repetitive I mean really really repetitive but somehow you keep wanting to see what next jutsu the MC learns and starts grinding after all his teammates die he becomes even more inclusive and starts doing random shit just to grind exp. At one point he captures bunch of Chunin and keeps them as chakra battery just to absorb and more grind. At another time he goes to the enemy camp disguises as a medic nin heals them just for grinding xp. All in all its just grind every angle every decision just grind
