Chapter 10: Back To Practice

Some days later after the previous event everyone that was there minus Asgore who was busy, was clustered into the lab once more. Gaster, Alphys, and Sans all stood apart from them ready to present their finished inventions now. Behind them were the things Alphys mentioned being her side project that they completed together. Alphys would introduce it to everyone "Good morning everyone! Well as you can see we have uh created something for you all. This was at first my side project, but with their help we finished it quickly." She would then point at the machines. "These are machines that let you train within your mind, but they actually affect your body and soul sort of through extremely realistic sensations? It's a whole bunch of stuff that would be hard to explain, but each of these is linked to a screen so I can see what's going on and pull you out if necessary. Well as for why.. After the attack I have been feeling even more uneasy and what Gaster said about uh- nevermind! Gaster would like to give an example first!" Gaster nodded his head. "Yes I will show you the inner workings of this device." Gaster wandered over and would place himself onto one of them. While he was doing so Frisk and rather everyone else was suspicious of Alphys when she suddenly cut herself off. Frisk wandered next to Alphys to speak with her quietly. "Alphys, what did Gaster tell you, please just be honest with me." Alphys got worked up for a moment until she would just sigh and give an answer. "Please try to make sure to keep this between as few people as possible, but apparently our enemies are being aided by someone from a whole other timeline. They will make everything we do harder than it is supposed to be, which is why I wanted you guys to use these." Frisk would be shocked by someone from a whole other timeline attacking them? For what reason would they have to do this? The even bigger question was who, who would do this. Though one hope would remain within that being she hoped that whoever it was they could be saved to. Even if they are really doing something this evil she still would not wish for them to be killed not for anyone. But to get there she would of course need something more than she already had, maybe a new skill? That's it, a way to hop over to specific timelines or maybe universes since the multiverse was a thing too. How could she do that though. Well she would stop with her thoughts and looked upwards towards the screen that was showing the digital Dr.Gaster from his view within the screen. There were speakers as well so they could hear what was going on inside and so Gaster would begin to go through the course. "Hello, I believe you all can hear me here. So I must first tell you that within this void of the machine you can control everything, for instance gravity." He would summon a rock and tossed it into the air, it fell down at the normal speed like one on earth would. He summoned another rock and threw it in the air with it crashing down in an instant. Gaster then did an elegant sway of his hands around him with an idyllic city coming straight from out of the depths of his imagination swept in creation around him. He closed one of his skeletal hands as if to crush air though it was more than that, once he did this the manifested city crumbled and crushed to his will. Now once more just a simple blank void Gaster would summon what was like a test dummy. "Now if any were curious of what I could do… Here shall be an interesting showcase." Gaster outstretched his hand causing a giant version of his own hand to appear above and behind him this giant hand moved towards the summon dummy. Gaster then closed his hand with the giant hand doing the same action simultaneously around the dummy crushing it. The hand tossed up the dummy within the air and through the hole in the hand that was summoned it shot out a pure black wave of energy. The dummy was completely obliterated; the remains of it fell downwards and were all spiked by black bones coming from the ground well a black gooey puddle from the ground. It seemed he could shape this void goop to create void constructs and yet it was not limited to simple constructs the void could do many things. Papyrus from the outside would look on with a grandiose smile and he seemed quite happy. Why? Well he just thought that his dad was so cool to be able to do that. "Wowie Sans! I wish I knew our dad before he seems so amazing." Sans would slightly laugh at his brother's enthusiasm. "Don't worry, Paps, he could never outcool you." Papyrus would proudly put his hands on his hips and hit his pose for a moment. Then going back to the Gaster display. Gaster's soul would appear outside of his body and above himself only to show it off. The soul was a monster soul base lined with white on the outside and upside down. The inside was made of bravery, perseverance, and determination due to the samples that were utilized to create his soul though there was also something else, a certain blackness that had lingered from his time in the void. Something interesting would then happen after the display wingdings appeared around him spelling out the word "fire." The wingdings would shoot out towards the ground and where impact was made a fire was created. Words of reality was the name of this power, a very grand one indeed, but now it was time for the true finale. "Get ready to see something grand!" Gaster would have found out about the current utilization of the battle box and would find out how to use it quite easily as a man of science he could break down and figure out concepts like no other. Creating another dummy he would then interlock his fingers. "Battle Box: Darker, Darker, yet Darker." With this his battle box came into fruition yet it was different from most standard ones. It did not create a small barrier around them that leaked into a pocket dimension or teleport them away to one. His battle box spanned the whole mental plane covering this cognitive universe in black void. Within this domain his powers would be increased an uncountable amount and allowed for his void powers to be used to a greater extent. He need not summon his goop as it was already there. The dummy would suddenly be stabbed from every single point on their body from the blackness and suddenly a black blast would come from the sky to end it. Gaster extended his palm and appeared above the dummy floating in the air looking towards his own blast of energy and extending his hand. The energy would stop? The energy hit his hand and then stopped? It seemed he simply absorbed the attack. "That is all, now give it a try everyone." And so everyone indeed would wish that it was quite a fascinating concept and idea which would be admitted, Alphys was overcome with the compliments and had quite a goofy smile creeping onto her face. Sora would then look beamingly at Shiro. "Shiro, let's do this together! It's gonna be super awesome, I know it. And then we can-" Shiro would then give a little snide snicker like she was some sort of villain. "I am sorry Sora, but I cannot let you see me developing my super secret move!" Sora would gasp a secret move? Well that sounded super cool. "Well uhm.. I'm gonna get an even more super secret move and I'll beat you or something!" "Oh yeah! I bet you won't" "Will too!" "Shake on it!" Shiro would extend her hand and so would Sora shaking eachother's hands after their childish banter. Now we peer into one of these sessions. No peeking at the new stuff that's a secret for now. Sans inside of his mental domain was sleeping. Nothing more than that even he was asleep in his mind. Though an imaginary Papyrus would smack him on the back of the head with a bone as he suddenly jolted up. "I'm up I'm up what is it! Oh yeah right. Let's see it was just like this." Sans decided to morph his mental void into that of a pleasant snowy area, just like that of his old home Snowdin. "Ah now it doesn't feel so BONE dry." A pun that barely even made sense, well at least he was still making attempts. Sans looked around and saw birds flowing around and monsters moving about within the made up snowdin. Suddenly though it seemed everything moved backwards. It was Sans messing with the flow of time within this space and sending it slightly backwards, but then the opposite happened everything was going forwards, but at a far accelerated speed than they were before. Time then seemed to move normally once more. Sans then stretched out his arms like two hands pointing out on a clock. "Battle Box: Chronic Karma." Entitled this as it was actually a fusion of two different ones into one. One being one that enhanced his karmic abilities, the other that increased his control of time. The battle box dimension was quite simple, it was a black void with swinging clocks around and gears that spun. The ground below was replaced with sand to represent the sands of time.. Scales of karma floated around in the sky abstract references to these concepts. Sans would make a sort of living test dummy. This creature would step on an ant killing it. Now one would expect little retribution for what most people consider a small act, but Sans would punch the creature with little effort, yet it would receive extreme amounts of damage. Amplifying their negative Karma folds over which Sans had decided to do. As a seeming test of what he could do Sans would have attempted to create a paradox in time. This paradox lets 2 of himself simultaneously exist at once. They would look at each other seemingly shocked, but then just start laughing away until we see out of the dark void and back into reality some time later after everyone is done. Everyone seemed physically drained which even though Alphys told them they would be they were more than pleasantly surprised because it was still something crazy in reality, their bodies strained by their mind. Shiro would stand quite proudly looking downwards at Sora with an excellent grin onto her face. Although trying to seem proud and intimidating, the fact she was barely standing made that affect a lot less effective. "Huff.. Sora I bet I am so much better than you now!" Sora raised his eyebrow at her and gave a rather hearty scoff and a smug grin of his own. "Nah not at all." Frisk would look from towards the two children who were making noise again sparking a competition once more out of nowhere. Looking at Chara now she would calmly say something. "I'll bet 50G that Sora beats her." Chara would snicker at this. "I can't believe you would bet against our sister. 10 Chocolate bars Shiro wins." Frisk would make a hmph as she spoke back. "Very well then, but I only bid against her as a motivator." Chara would have found this quite amusing, but this would be overheard by the others. Whispers would go between them silently going along with small wagers all in some good fun. Poking in through this now Axis spoke over. "Why doesn't everyone get some rest now. It has been quite some time and I am sure we are all tired." That was indeed true which everyone could recognize. With some time they managed to make it back, everyone going to their respective places. Two days later now it was time to enact their efforts in finishing up restoration for the country. It went far quicker than usual, or rather what was expected due to the great skills and speed of those who were around. The King and Queen would stay true to their promise of helping themselves as they currently were out there rebuilding some buildings and cleaning up debris that were still scattered around… Unfortunately they were alone. Frisk and Sans were elsewhere sitting beside water. Shiro and Sora had wandered off when they were supposed to be helping. And Chara was wandering around Papyrus and Undyne on their royal guard duties which we will go into first. Wandering throughout the mostly repaired city behind Undyne and Papyrus my thoughts were quite satisfied to be here. It was much better than having to go over and help with that clean up and they were already good enough to do it themselves weren't they? And then I heard Papyrus say "I'm so glad you've decided to become a member of the royal guard, but may I ask why?" I would put a finger to my chin trying to think of a quick answer being now stared at by the two. The real reason was that she didn't want to work at her job at Mcdonalds™ and this seemed more interesting. Though I have a pretty good idea what to say. "Well I just had a sudden inspiration from you Papyrus!" I looked at Papyrus relieved he seemed quite pleased with that answer and almost brought him to tears. Undyne did not seem to buy it, but luckily she went along with it for me. "Alright punk just make sure to take a look out we don't know what kind of losers are around here." Consequently as she said this almost as if on cue.. We stood right outside of a bank that was partially damaged and open. People were running out of it masked and carrying bags, it was obvious to tell they took this situation to their advantage ugh what disgusting humans. An expression of disappointment would come over me. "Behind you." I told Undyne and Papyrus about them before walking over towards them myself wanting a crack at the chance of bringing pain to them. With a sudden warping I grasped onto the neck of one of them and slammed them right into the ground feeling a sort of excitement come over me punching their face into the ground over and over again hearing the others scramble away as they were stopped by the other susbsequently. When I was getting into my fun.. No, not just for fun to bring justice to these terrible humans. I was stopped by papyrus peeling me off of them. I was a bit upset with myself hearing his voice though I believe I was right he sounded sad. The face of the person I hit was almost unrecognizable. "H-human that was a bit too much don't you think. I know they did something bad, but they don't deserve that. They can become good too. I am great at making friends and doing that, you know." I would wait some time before saying something back. "Right Papyrus. I am sorry." "No worries humans, we all make mistakes." Though as always the great Papyrus stayed sad for a little and always had hope. I shouldn't betray that. The others were trapped within a bone cage looking quite scared as Undyne would talk her talk and pointed spears at them. Though with her grand strength she picked up the entire cage with them all in it and said. "Be back in a bit, I'm taking these guys in." And then with a wave off she was gone. Undyne really was amazing. Although she forgot the last guy, a spear suddenly was tossed into a piece of their clothing and the spear dragged them away. "I am glad with your enthusiasm though human. You seem to have a strong sense of justice. You will be a proper guard for the people soon enough and perhaps as popular as me to stand as awesome heroes together." Papyrus had a rather funny way of thinking yet it was quite nice. "I appreciate that even more Papyrus. If only someone could be as cool as you" That seemed to hit Papyrus still the same to compliments as he was long ago greatly appreciating it. "Let's get ice cream after we are done. Spaghetti ice cream for you!" "Spaghetti ice cream? I can't wait to try it." I indeed could wait to try it. I might die if I eat it, but it sounds quite interesting. "I am trying out something new everyday human, it really makes life a lot more intriguing don't you think so?" I would pause for a moment thinking about this. Something like that could go far beyond just spaghetti recipes and I had never really thought about that. Most of my days had the same monotonous routine with barely anything new. Maybe something like that would make life more interesting. "It really could. Say what other new things you would like to try." Papyrus would seem to remember something. "Ah I remember Undyne wanted to try this thing called sky-diving. That sounds awesome. Also something about no parachutes or whatever?" No parachutes in sky-diving? Well luckily for us we won't die but it certainly does not sound that enticing though why not give it a shot. "Sure yeah that sounds fun I will come along." (Wanted to try first person. Dunno if that's good.)
