Chapter 6: Don't Ever Run
They tried to grab Mio's arms but, she started struggling. They were strong enough to resist her struggles. When they finally got a hold on her arms they slammed her on the ground. The impact of the slam took the breath out of her. She was dizzy and saw the world spinning around her. Thug 1 pulled her hair to move her head. They got a good look on her face.
"She really is a beauty."
Thug 2 pulled out a knife.
"It's time boyz, time to carve this bitch up."
He cut through her sweater to reveal the marks on her chest. It was barely visible. The seals seemed like they were fading away. Still in dazed state, Mio was still conscious and can see what was happening. She felt helpless. She was too winded to struggle and scream. She did not know what to do. All she could do now was wait for what was next.
"Ayy, so what do we do now?
"We somehow extract the blade."
"Just call the boss."
He then threw his Nokia phone to catch it.
"Nah, miss me with that fuck shit. Woosh."
The Nokia phone fell on the floor. Everyone heard the loud thump. Thug 1 went to go pick up his phone.
"Did it crack the screen."
"Nah, it dented the floor."
"Wait, what? What the hell is this made off?"
"Yo its a Nokia. That shitz indestructible."
"Smh, just buy a regular phone."
"Just call him."
He dialled the boss.
"Ayy B0ss, we got the girl. How do you get the chaos blade?"
Another voice the thug did not recognized picked up the phone.
"Goooood. The girrrl shouuuuld be piercccced innn theeee heartttt. I mussst warnn youuu. Doo noott giveee thee girllll the chancee....."
"Ayy, what the B0ss said."
"Would you finna shut up? This manz is like slow talking."
"....B0ss senddddsss his regardssss"
The guy hung up.
"Awww wtf? This dude hung up on me and I didn't get the last part."
"Ayy yo what he say?"
"He said pierce her in her heart"
"Ayyy dunoe fam, surgery it is my g"
Mio was slowly losing consciousness. She could feel herself drifting away. Then she slowly closed her eyes.
As she closed her eyes the black fog appeared before her. It was in front of her and then it slithered around and covered her mouth from behind.
Child of fate. You are in a dangerous situation. Someone has wished death upon you.
You cannot allow that. We....cannot allow that.
You are one with the blade. We are the darkness that shrouds the blade in its sins. You and I are one in the same.
Let loose child. You shall not give the blade to them...
.....Rip, claw, tear them to pieces...
For they shall experience hatred and fear
Child this will be your second awakening.....
The marks on her arm began to appear before the thugs eyes.
"Ayy yo, would you like hurry up? This bitch finna do somethin."
"I got it, shut up."
Her exposed chest revealed markings around her face and arms.
"Damn. Sick tattoos. But this is my job."
He plunged the blade into her chest. Stabbing her multiple times.
"Yo, i think its workin"
"Uhhh, nah meng. We dont got a sword or sum shit."
"Oooo, you killed somebody. Imma tell on you. You going to jail."
"Naw, stop. I dont wanna go to jail."
"Hey!! Would you stop?"
The thug tried to stab Mio again. He aimed for her heart this time.
As he thrusted his knife Mio head-butted the thug. The thug tried to stab her after that but Mio kicked him in the balls.
"Fuckin bitch! Imma kill you and get the sword."
Mio's markings covered the right side of her face and her eyes turned blood-shot red. With her entire force she sent the thugs holding onto her arms flying across the building that was under construction.
The blade appeared in her hands as she stood angrily breathing.
"Yo i think were in trouble?"
"Nah man we got this. She can't beat us we guuci."
"Say less."
Thug 1 came at her with the small knife that she used to stab her with. As to his surprise all the stab wounds were healed.
"Imma carve you up good. Into trey pieces, that means tree no forest."
From the back all you could hear was.
"Damn, he hitting her with the sick roasts."
"You ice cold. Nipples cold."
Everybody just stopped. Even Mio who was in an angered state stopped too.
"Just shut up. Gawd. You always have to fuckin do this."
He got sad. He cried a small tear. But only a little bit tho cause he ain't no bitch.
The thug started to charge at Mio with knife in hand.
The chaos blade changed shape to the length of the thug's knife. She charged at him as well.
The thug tried to grab Mio but Mio was too quick for him to keep up. He slashed at her but only caught the air. Mio saw an opening and slashed his hand off. The thug's severed hand fell to the floor and the chaos blade returned to normal size.
"Ahh, fuck. This is bullshit!!!"
The thug grabbed his arm with the missing hand. While he was lamenting in pain. Mio with the eyes of a predator set her sights to kill. Without noticing, the thug could not feel the pain in his chest. Mio stabbed him with full force. She slowly removed the blade from his body. She made a sadistic laugh.
"Hey yo, meng?"
"Yuh bruh, i think weez in trouble."
"Really?? I wuz going to do the other thing."
"That thing?"
"Yuh."
Mio whipped her sword around. Splattering the walls and the floor with the blood of the thug.
The thugs started to snicker and giggle. Mio could sense something with immense energy about to erupt.
"Yuh, deadass. We bout to show yous are true awakened power."
"Yeah. Too bad the homie couldn't show you it as well. Whatever."
The thugs began to morph into monstrous creatures. There bodies growing about twice their size. They grew claws and fangs, similar to wild boars. There presence was intimidating. They had thus pressure that would scare small mammals.
They snarled and growled. They became beasts. The transformation assumed that they threw their humanity for power.
They only had one thing on their mind, killing.
They immediately charged at Mio. Luckily, Mio was faster or she would've been impaled by their large fangs and claws. Mio was trying her best to dodge. As the blade gave her heightened agility and senses.
One of the thugs was chasing after her. While the other was circling around to cut her off.
Mio was running to the exit then for a split second she saw the second thug charging at her from the side. She jumped in the air and did an acrobatic somersault to avoid the second thug. The thug crashed into the wall. The wall did not stop the thug as he broke a large hole in the wall.
She looked at the thug dust himself off after charging into the wall. Then she got tackled by the thug that was chasing after her. She flew a couple feet forward. As she fell to the ground she let out a gasp of air.
She was bleeding from the impact of that tackle. She felt the top of her head and saw the stain of blood that she touched.
She got up and ran at the thug again. She jumped up and did a downward slash against the thug. The thug blocked the slash from Mio. The impact of the block sent her forward. She landed on the ground and skidded until she stopped.
Even in this state I thought i had more power. Why can't I beat them?
She started to get frustrated. The blade reacted towards her frustrations and begin to glow.
She began to lose herself. It felt like an outer body experience. She was not in control of her own body.
The thugs saw Mio move faster than before. They could not keep track of her.
"Yo, right in front of you!!"
Mio appeared in front of the thug and pierced the blade into his chest. He could not process what just happened. She removed the blade from his chest and he fell to the ground. The blood from his body spilled onto the floor.
"Shit, shit, shit. Fuck, what the hell am I supposed to do."
Mio turned to the last thug. She whipped the blade again to splatter blood on the floor.
The thug just stood there trembling in fear.
"She is ruthless. I deadass cannot do nuthin. Fuck, what am I too tell my b-"
Before he could finish his last thought his head was off of his body. And his headless torso was spewing blood.
"Headass."
