Chapter 28: Has Mr. George gone home?
Emma just ignored them and walked towards the washroom.
After entering the restroom, the first thing she did was call Mr. Jeffery that whether Mr. George will have gone or not.
The phone rang for about 2 seconds and quickly answered.
"Hello, young mistress. Is there something I can help you with?" Mr. Jeffery said.
"Has Mr. George gone home?" Emma asked.
"Yes, he went. And he also left a thank-you letter for Young Master." Mr. George explained.
Why is she asking about Mr. George? Is there anything I don't know?
I should ask Ms. Mehna.
"No need to give the letter to David, you should hide it. It will be good for you." Emma said to Mr. Jeffery, instructing him to hide the letter from David.
Then the call ended.
After Emma's conversation with Mr. Jeffery, he became curious about why she was asking about Mr George. He felt that he may be missing some important information about their relationship. Mr. Jeffery decided to talk to Ms. Mehna, who was also part of the household staff, to see if she had any insights about the matter.
As she gazed into the mirror, Emma realized that it had been hours since she last washed her face and her lipstick had faded considerably. She proceeded to do a quick touch-up, reflecting on her, belief that Asian girls are naturally blessed with striking features and can effortlessly exude beauty even without any makeup on.
Emma took her time and after a few minutes, she made her way back to the elegant table where David was patiently waiting for her. As soon as he caught a glimpse of her, a warm smile spread across his face. Emma couldn't help but feel appreciated by his kind gesture.
To her surprise, David had arranged an assortment of delectable desserts on the table, tempting her taste buds. Emma was delighted by his thoughtfulness and couldn't wait to indulge in the mouth-watering delicacies.
