Chapter 29: These desserts are divine
Emma savored each but of the scrumptious desserts and enjoyed the explosion of flavors In her mouth.
"I must say, these desserts are divine," Emma said to David.
David felt a sense of pride in knowing he had succeeded in making her happy.
As Emma finished the last bite of the delicious dessert, she felt a sense of satisfaction wash over her. She turned to David and caught his gaze.
"I am feeling quite full I'm ready to head back home," Emma said with a smile.
David nodded in agreement and motioned for the waiter to bring the check. After reviewing the bill he pulled out his wallet and paid for their meal.
Should I say thank you to him??
Well, maybe not this time.
Emma didn't even say thank you to David.
Emma, I am happy to have shared this experience with you. David thought.
Then they both left the restaurant.
As they settled into the car, a comfortable silence enveloped them.
Upon reaching their residence, Emma let out a small yawn feeling the effects of the rich meal they had indulged in.
"David, I think I am going to take a quick nap," Emma said.
"Rest well." David nodded.
Emma made her way to her bedroom and collapsed onto the plush mattress. Her eyes closed almost immediately as she drifted off into a peaceful slumber.
As for David, he had some pressing matters that required his attention. He headed to his home office and began sifting through his documents, his mind focused and determined to accomplish his tasks.
After two hours, David came back to their bedroom.
As the sound of the door opening roused Emma from her sleep, she sat up and rubbed her eyes, trying to regain her composure. She noticed that David had just walked into the room, looking calm and relaxed.
Emma felt a bit disoriented and wondered if she had slept for too long. "What time is it right now?" She asked, feeling a bit groggy.
