There was a light breeze making their clothes flutter.

Ehsan chuckled, “The Emperor’s people are more confident than the Ecruh.”

He turned to look at the pouting Rosa. "Although I doubt they would be able to kill you there. You survived prison in Ecruh.”

His eyes glanced at her. The childish face was ready to challenge anyone. She carried the same look as she did that night when Rosa openly challenged him to a duel. He did not think anyone would move him this much. Ehsan knew Rosa was drunk. If he wanted to, he could have killed her, for the audacity at best, all he needed to do was to pacify Lais. This girl even made me think of a brother.

‘I did not bother to check if he existed.’ Rosa was thinking of something as she raised her head again.

“Tell me something, Prince Ehsan; why did you not follow your father's words? I was alone there. I was already a hostage, in the way.” Ehsan watched as the ends of her locks tickled her cheek.

He could not help but stare at her.
