(This is my first Web-novel so if You dislike anything about my writing please tell me so I can improve.)
A faint light escapes the outside world and enters my small temple. Annoyed at whatever has entered my temple, I say:
"WHO HAS AWAKENED ME?"
With the strongest voice I can muster.
"..."
I hear no answer and start to get even more angry,
"ANSWER ME!"
I command.
"I'm sorry great one, I was startled by your voice.
Please forgive me lord."
I'm starting to wonder who it is, as I don't recognize their voice as one of my followers.
"WHO HAS ENTERED MY TEMPLE?"
I ask, a little more intrigued.
"My grandfather told me about a great god that
commanded this place, and said I should come here in times of need."
Grandfather? Strange I don't remember any elders that worship me. I wonder how long I've been sleeping they might be a descendant of one of my followers. Or perhaps they have mistaken this place for another deity's home.
"WHAT IS THE NAME OF YOUR GRANDFATHER?"
I ask curiously.
"Kurt, Kurt Munlada my god."
Ah Kurt, I remember him. He was one of my most dedicated followers, he didn't have any children when I was last awake. I must have been asleep for over 40 years, as this one is at least in their 20's.
"WHAT IS IT YOU REQUIRE?"
...
He seems to be thinking about what he should say.
I'm over 300 years old now; so a small wait for him to think isn't much, but still a little bit annoying as he should've been prepared before entering my temple.
"Will you please grant me luck, as I am about to enter a war to protect my home from the neighbouring village?"
Such a small request was very easy for me to grant when I had more followers but now a days many of my followers have died of disease, war, or just plain old age, I sadly cannot grant the wish but since no one else is hearing this conversation I might as well lie. If he survives then I'll get a new follower, If he dies then I get to sleep again.
It's a win win scenario.
"I SHALL GRANT YOUR WISH."
"Oh thank you my lord, thank you!"
Ok you can leave now. Please leave.
"I will succeed, then I will spread word of your greatness. Thank you."
I'm starting to feel slightly empowered by the new faith of this human. A shred of me is starting to hope he does win the war and spread the knowledge of my power. I wish I still had my past power.
Anyways he finally leaves so I can resume my slumber.
A bit later I've rested enough and decide to survey the surrounding land with the little power I have. Over 50 snakes emerge from the temple and start slithering around the land. With my abilities I'm able to see through the eyes of these serpents.
What I see is a flourishing forest with a few villages surrounding it, I don't know which village Kurts grandson lives in but If I watch for A bit I could see which villages are at war. Maybe I'll see Kurts grandson himself. Im excited, I haven't had any good entertainment for at least 80 years.
I can't wait.
