Chapter 43: Chapter 43 Natsu vs Erza

Inside the battle circle, Natsu and Erza squared off, their expressions taut with determination as they prepared for the clash that had been anticipated for weeks. The cherry-pink hair of Natsu shimmered under the sunlight, and Erza's fiery crimson hair was tied back, accentuating the fierce glint in her eyes.

"How many years has it been since we last went head-to-head like this?" Erza asked, her tone calm but charged with energy.

"I was just a kid back then," Natsu grinned. "But now it's different! I'm gonna beat you today!"

Erza's eyes lit up, her competitive spirit fully ignited. "Then show me how much you've grown. I'll give you no mercy!"

"Bring it on!" Natsu roared, his fists igniting in brilliant flames.

"Requip: Flame Emperor Armor!"

In a flash of magic, Erza's outfit transformed. The dark red armor, lined with black and orange patterns, shimmered as the wings on her back fluttered slightly. Designed specifically to counter fire-based attacks, the Flame Emperor Armor was one of her most iconic sets.

"Looking good as always, Erza!" someone from the crowd whistled.

"It's the one she uses to fight Natsu! I've missed this showdown!" someone else chimed in.

"Start!" Markov declared, standing on a barrel for a better view of the duel.

The crowd erupted in cheers as Natsu launched the first attack. "Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!"

The punch, wrapped in searing flames, blazed toward Erza with incredible speed. But Erza, ever the seasoned warrior, sidestepped the blow with ease, her movements fluid and precise.

Natsu wasn't discouraged. Using the momentum from his missed strike, he twisted mid-air and followed up with a fiery kick aimed at her head.

"Predictable," Erza murmured, raising her sword just in time to parry the attack. Sparks erupted as the blade clashed with Natsu's flaming foot.

The fight quickly became a whirlwind of strikes and counters. Natsu's relentless offense clashed with Erza's impeccable defense, each move executed with precision. The crowd cheered, their excitement building with every exchanged blow.

"Wow!" Lucy gasped, her hands clasped together. "They're both amazing!"

Gray crossed his arms, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. "Hah, don't get carried away. Erza hasn't even started taking this seriously yet."

Nearby, Kira observed the fight with keen interest, his analytical gaze scanning the movements of both combatants. "Natsu's holding his own," he remarked. "But Erza's just warming up. Things are about to get serious."

In the arena, Natsu grinned, flames licking up his arms. "Looks like you've been practicing!"

Erza's expression didn't waver. "Of course. But you'll have to do better if you want to stand a chance."

With a powerful swing of her sword, Erza unleashed a wave of energy, forcing Natsu to retreat momentarily. "Switching gears already?" Natsu teased.

"Consider it my way of acknowledging your progress," Erza replied.

Natsu didn't waste any time. He inhaled deeply, flames flickering around him as he prepared to unleash a more devastating attack.

"Fire Dragon's Roar!"

A massive torrent of flames surged toward Erza, the heat so intense that it singed the ground beneath it. But Erza stood her ground. With a graceful pivot, she raised her sword, slicing through the flames with precision. The crowd gasped in awe.

"She cut through the roar?!" Lucy exclaimed.

"Of course she did," Gray said, smirking. "This is Erza we're talking about."

The exchange of blows grew more intense. Natsu's fists, feet, and flames struck out with untamed ferocity, while Erza's sword deflected and retaliated with the skill of a master. The clang of metal against flame echoed through the air, mingling with the cheers of the onlookers.

"Ding! Ding! Ding!"

The fierce duel showed no signs of slowing down. Both fighters moved at such speed and precision that even the seasoned wizards in the crowd struggled to keep up.

"They're incredible," Lucy murmured, her eyes wide with admiration. "Every attack feels like it could end the fight, but they just keep going!"

"They're evenly matched," someone whispered from the sidelines.

"Not even close," Gray muttered. "Erza hasn't used half her strength yet."

Kira, standing nearby, chuckled. "True, but look at Natsu. He's adapting with every move. His instincts are sharper than ever."

Despite the grueling pace, neither Natsu nor Erza showed any signs of backing down. Natsu's flames burned brighter, and Erza's movements became even more refined. Each clash of sword and flame sent sparks flying, the intensity of their battle captivating everyone watching.

"Fire Dragon's Wing Attack!" Natsu shouted, spinning mid-air and releasing arcs of flame toward Erza.

"Nice try," Erza said, sidestepping the attack before countering with a powerful swing of her blade.

The sheer force of her strike sent a shockwave rippling through the air, forcing Natsu to dig his feet into the ground to keep from being pushed back.

"Time to kick it up a notch!" Natsu declared. Flames erupted from his body as he unleashed a flurry of attacks, each one more aggressive than the last.

Erza smirked, clearly enjoying the challenge. "Come at me, Natsu!"

The battle raged on, neither fighter willing to give an inch. Sweat dripped from their brows, their breathing heavy but steady. The crowd watched in awe, their cheers growing louder with each passing second.

"Unbelievable," Lucy whispered, her heart racing. "This is more than just a duel—it's a clash of wills!"

As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the battlefield, Natsu and Erza paused momentarily, their eyes locking in mutual respect.

"You've gotten stronger, Natsu," Erza admitted.

"And you're as tough as ever," Natsu replied, grinning.

With renewed determination, the two prepared for the next exchange, their spirits burning as fiercely as the flames surrounding them.

"Let's finish this!" Natsu roared, charging forward.

"Come and try!" Erza countered, her blade gleaming in the fading light.

The crowd leaned forward, their anticipation reaching its peak. Whatever the outcome, one thing was certain—this battle would be remembered for years to come.

Chapter 44: Chapter 44: The Person Arrested This Time Is...

"Fairy Queen... oh no, The Fairy Queen. She certainly lives up to her name," Kira thought, watching Erza defeat Natsu in their fiery duel. He couldn't help but nod in satisfaction, his eyes gleaming with pride.

"This armor, crafted by yours truly, is a masterpiece!" he muttered to himself. "The color, the luster, the curvature, the craftsmanship! Ah, perfection!"

Gray, standing nearby, raised an eyebrow. "What's with that weird look on his face? He looks... intoxicated or something."

Lucy crouched down and whispered to Happy, "Don't you think Kira's looking at Erza kind of strangely?"

Happy, blissfully unaware of any hidden meaning, wagged his tail. "Maybe it's because he bet on Erza to win in Cana's betting pool!"

"What?! There was betting on this?" Lucy gasped.

Happy nodded enthusiastically. "Of course! Everyone knows Kira's involved whenever there's money in the guild!"

"Did you bet, too?" Lucy asked, incredulous.

"Yep!" Happy grinned, holding up two tiny fish in his claws. "And I won! Erza for the win!"

"You're unbelievable, you disloyal cat!" Lucy muttered, rolling her eyes.

"Well, Natsu's strong, but Erza's the strongest woman in the guild!" Happy replied with absolute certainty.

Lucy sighed, muttering, "Natsu single-handedly took out the entire Iron Forest. He could've had a chance!"

Happy shrugged, "Maybe, but against Erza? Not likely."

The battle raged for nearly thirty minutes, and it was clear to everyone that Natsu was reaching his limit. He was panting heavily, sweat dripping down his face, while Erza remained composed. Her Flame Emperor armor glowed faintly in the residual heat of the fight, with barely a scratch on it.

"Fire Dragon's Roar!" Natsu unleashed his signature move in one last desperate attempt.

"Emperor Yan: Dayan Ring!" Erza countered, spinning with her flaming sword in hand. The enchanted blade sliced through Natsu's fiery attack and sent him tumbling to the ground.

As Natsu struggled to push himself up, Erza stood over him, her expression softening. "You've improved, Natsu," she admitted, the faintest hint of pride in her voice.

With a deep exhale, Erza dismissed her armor, returning to her everyday attire. Markov raised his hands and declared, "The winner is Erza!"

Cheers erupted around the battlefield.

"Erza won! Pay up!"

"Damn it! I should've bet on her lasting just under 30 minutes. I would've cleaned up!"

"Erza, you're the best!"

Even Happy was celebrating, darting off to Cana to claim his prize—a pair of freshly caught fish. Meanwhile, Lucy helped a bruised but grinning Natsu to his feet.

"Natsu, are you okay?" Lucy asked, concerned.

"I'm fine," Natsu replied, rubbing his head. His disappointment was evident, but there was also a glimmer of excitement in his eyes. "Next time, I'll beat her for sure!"

Cana, standing in a corner, was counting the money she had made from the betting pool. As she tallied her profits, a shadow loomed over her.

"Not bad, not bad," Kira said, snatching the money from her hands. "This will go toward paying off your debt!"

"Hey!" Cana protested, spinning around. "Give that back! That's my money!"

"Not anymore," Kira replied smugly, slipping the cash into his pocket. "It's part of what you owe me. Looks like you're one percent closer to clearing your tab!"

"Damn it, you greedy jerk!" Cana fumed. "At least leave me enough for drinks tonight!"

"Once it's in my hands, it's as good as gone!" Kira grinned. "And maybe you should cut back on the drinks. It's not exactly helping you get stronger."

"What about the president and Gildarts? They drink all the time!"

"Yeah, well, they're strong enough to back it up. You, on the other hand..." Kira trailed off with a smirk.

Cana groaned in frustration, giving up on arguing.

As Kira walked away, happily counting his earnings, he nearly bumped into an odd figure standing behind him—a humanoid toad dressed in official-looking robes. The toad's wide, unblinking eyes stared straight into his.

"Since when did toads learn to walk on two legs and wear clothes?" Kira asked casually, unfazed.

The toad clapped its hands, commanding the attention of everyone nearby. "Attention, Fairy Tail! I am a messenger from the Magic Council!"

The guild members froze, their cheerful atmosphere replaced by unease.

"The Council?"

"What's the Magic Council want with us this time?"

"I swear, if it's about the station Natsu burned down..."

The toad raised its voice. "In relation to the Iron Forest incident, Kira Hopelet, you are hereby under arrest for ten charges, including property damage and possession of forbidden magical artifacts!"

"What?!"

Gasps and murmurs spread through the crowd. Even Markov looked stunned.

Kira raised an eyebrow, remaining calm. "Huh, so this is about Lalabai. I should've guessed Kageyama spilled the beans."

"Kira!" Markov stepped forward, his expression serious. "You didn't hand Lalabai over to the Council?"

"Ah, about that..." Kira scratched the back of his head. "I meant to, but things got busy..."

Before Markov could respond, Erza interjected. "As the team captain during the Iron Forest mission, I take full responsibility! Arrest me instead!"

The toad shook its head. "The Council's decision is final. Kira Hopelet is the one who retained the forbidden item, and he must face the charges."

Erza frowned but said nothing, her stern gaze landing on Kira. Her look spoke volumes.

"I told you keeping Lalabai was a bad idea," her eyes seemed to say.

Kira raised an eyebrow in return, as if to reply, "What's the big deal? I've got this under control."

Mistaking his expression for reassurance, Erza nodded. "Very well. Take him."

"Wait, what?!" Kira exclaimed.

The toad sighed in relief as Kira complied without resistance. "Thank you for your cooperation. This could've been a lot messier."

As the toad escorted Kira away, the guild erupted into whispers and shouts.

"What the hell?!"

"They arrested Kira?"

"Isn't Natsu the one who destroyed the station?"

Markov turned toward the unconscious Natsu, now transformed into a harmless salamander by the guild master's spell. "Good thing I neutralized him... That boy would've burned the Council's messenger alive."

"I'll be back before you know it!" Kira shouted, waving to his guildmates with an exaggerated grin. "Save my spot at the bar!"

Despite his bravado, Kira couldn't help but wonder just how much trouble awaited him at the Council headquarters.
